PWFM | Mercury Retrograde Will End on an Interesting Note

In tonight’s edition of Planet Waves FM [play episode here], Eric looks closely at the last days of Mercury retrograde, which end with a kind of revival of the Aug. 21 total eclipse of the Sun. Mercury makes a conjunction to Mars, then stations direct, in the eclipse degree — which is close to the president’s rising degree. That means a whole new kind of mishegas is on its way. Get ready.

This Week’s Horoscope for Virgo by Eric Francis Coppolino

You’re about to experience the most interesting effects of Mercury retrograde and the solar eclipse. Many things come together over the next week, meaning that you’ll see patterns you may have entirely missed until now. So, in honor of that you might focus on noticing the way the different elements of your life story form constellations. Who, for example, is appearing from the past, and what are you learning when they show up? Are you carrying around old grievances, or are you letting them go? Don’t take your anger too seriously. There is, however, one thing that may actually be troubling you, even though you haven’t given it a name yet. If you tap into your deeper anger, you will know it, and that’s the time to make a point of resolving the matter. Pay specific attention to any way that parents or parent-figures show up, particularly as those with intractable opinions. Among other things, you simply must be more flexible than that.

It’s Gonna Get Stranger

Never a dull moment, huh? I trust, at least, that a touch of normalcy or at least a slower pace has returned to your personal life. We could all use a little break; and there have been few to be had, though there was a distinct pressure drop in the days after last week’s long-anticipated eclipse.

Over the weekend, Mercury and the Sun formed their interior conjunction, marking the halfway point of Mercury retrograde. Right now, Mercury is where the action is. As I mentioned in Thursday’s edition, Mercury makes a series of moves on the way to stationing direct on Sept. 5.

If astrology means anything, this will stir up a whole new frenzy in national affairs, which people are taking on a rather personal level these days.

This includes the grand total of zero Planet Waves readers who show up to white supremacy marches, and others who show up at the gleeful counter-protests that are the real gift of the current political moment.

When Mercury, your ruling planet, stations direct on Sept. 5, it does so in the exact same degree as the now-infamous total solar eclipse that happened on Aug. 21. The eclipse created an opening, and now you’re about to find out what was really going on. This will, perhaps, take the rest of the month, because you’ll need to integrate a discovery that you may find quite unbelievable. The odd bits include how what you figure out was right where you could have seen it all along; and then, how you’ll have to consciously make sense of the discovery. What’s actually happening is that your mind is opening up in a way that’s never happened before. You’re becoming more sensitive to an inner source of information, which you can depend upon implicitly. All Eyes on the Eclipse Degree, and Mercury Retrograde

Dear Friend and Reader:

Now that the eclipse itself has passed, the standout factor in the sky is Mercury retrograde in Virgo. All the interesting things that happen over the next two weeks involve Mercury. For example, the Sun and Mercury will form their interior conjunction on Saturday, marking the halfway point of the retrograde.

Then Mercury will form a conjunction to a weird, barely-extant point called Transpluto, which combination feels like a camel going through the eye of a needle. Then, Mercury will make a conjunction to Mars, and then stop and station direct in the exact degree of the eclipse — 29 degrees of Leo.

This brings us to an interesting point about the degrees where eclipses happen: they become a distinct entity in the sky, which can show up in charts for many years after the event.

We see this on a local scale with Mercury retrograde ending on Sept. 5 within one-half of a degree of where the eclipse occurred. This is what I mean by the eclipse degree showing up places. It stays put; other planets come to visit, at unusual times and situations.

The Pisces Full Moon also happens about 20 hours after Mercury stations direct. That describes a kind of emotional peak, and is also the first Full Moon after a New Moon eclipse.
