You appear to be having a form of ‘no-bullshit’ moment with regard to your one-on-one relationships, of all kinds. This could very well be useful, in terms of both letting go of connections that no longer make sense, and meeting new people. The key is to consider whether you bring out the best in one another. The healthiest interactions result in you growing closer to your higher self and to all that is inherently sacred and beautiful. There comes a point when nothing less will suffice.

Do you have a Leo Sun, rising sign or Moon? Your last couple years may have left you reeling trying to figure out which path forward is best. Hear Eric’s thoughts on expediting your post-eclipse process in your 2019-2020 Leo Astrology Studio reading.

The Moon enters Aquarius today ahead of Thursday’s Full Moon in that sign, in a week that appears to have ‘let’s get social!’ written all over it. That can be easier for some people than others (if social anxiety is an issue, feel free to modify what ‘social’ looks for you). If you tend to be the more introverted or shy type, or if you’re finding yourself alone or unable to connect with your usual group of friends, you may find that getting out into the world offers new opportunities to make contact with others in mutually satisfying ways. True, it’s possible to be in a group of people and feel lonely; yet it’s also possible for a single unexpected smile shared with a stranger to brighten an entire day.

The Moon’s opposition to Mercury in Leo today will go by quickly, but could give a taste-test of what the Full Moon is about for you. Notice who catches your attention, what you feel compelled to say, what they say to you, and how you feel about it all. Chitchat could be rampant and playful, but it’s the unusual idea that catches your imagination or elicits an unexpected emotional response that may be worth some additional pondering. Heart and soul, mind and spirit — all appear to be feeding each other well, and will likely benefit from some physical activity; perhaps especially if done for its own pleasurable sake, without a particular goal in mind.

Today’s lunar eclipse marks an unusually important year for you in terms of your personal growth, your maturity in relating to others, and your aspiration toward fulfilling your ideals. Tensions may play out in certain relationships, or within yourself, though this likely represents vital matters being brought to a head. As we change, so necessarily do our interactions and dynamics with others. Ultimately, you need honest people around you who’ll have your back.

Written in the Planets

Tonight’s Full Moon and partial lunar eclipse occurs in late Capricorn, opposite the Cancer Sun, at 5:38 pm EDT (21:38:06 UTC). This brings to a close the two-week zone between eclipses this season. However, whatever these events signify or describe in your life may be only beginning to take shape. So you might want to consider observing today carefully: your feelings and thoughts; your interactions with others; new information that arrives; things you realize have run their course. How consciously can you go about everything you do today? What are you giving your time, energy and attention, and does it match your greater intentions and priorities?

You can read a little more about this event here, and you can refer also to yesterday’s Written in the Planets. Bear in mind also that typical Full Moon tensions could be afoot, particularly in situations that feel stuck or locked down, or where emotions are complex. Even though the effects of eclipses can take months to manifest, once the Full Moon begins separating, some room might open up in which movement toward resolution of the immediate circumstances can begin.

It’s also worth noting that the Moon and Sun are square Eris in Aries and the object Haumea in Libra. This could describe needing to make a choice between self-serving actions that may cause chaos (for yourself and for others), and acts of creation that could bring some balance to your relationships. If you’re noticing these themes in your life, can you honestly assess which way you’re leaning? Mars in Leo making an aspect to the minor planet Albion in Taurus appears to describe the courage to cross a threshold, if you’re willing to take the steps necessary.

You are entering a state in which it’s near impossible to be conventional, or to please for the sake of pleasing. You’re evolving as a person. This may generate some tension between you and others; it’s possible to work with them through those moments. One way to defuse any conflict is to find the common ground. That said, you are not responsible for how those around you feel, and none of this should prevent you from your mission to live your dharma.

Notice how you’re feeling — really feeling — today. Can you tease out the threads of your emotions and sensations? As in: what seems to be new or related to a current situation; what feels like an echo from the past; what’s really a worry or fantasy based on a possible (but not yet manifested or real) future? If that seems too complicated or daunting, maybe just start with a basic exercise: can you name your emotions? Often they mix together, or one follows another so quickly we mistake them, and react in ways that aren’t as productive as they could be. Once you name them, you stand a better shot at tracing them to their source.

Why does this matter today? Because tomorrow we have a Full Moon in Capricorn (the sign opposite the Moon’s ‘home sign’ of Cancer), and it’s also a partial lunar eclipse. There are some intense factors in that chart, which describe a need to be aware of where you’re feeling intensity, conflict, confrontation or confusion in your life. By all means, notice what sparks joy in you, and see if you can at least touch on those activities today and tomorrow. In the process, you may discover that paying attention to some of the more serious dynamics in your various relationships frees up some space and energy for the more joyful, creative and visionary pursuits.

Also, if you’re formulating a plan, do you rely mainly on established rules, or do you favor your own experiential wisdom? Chances are those two approaches need to be integrated in some way today, as described by a square between the asteroid Pallas in Libra and Saturn in Capricorn. You might also notice whether the emotions of others factor into your process. Do their feelings mirror yours, or tend to crowd yours out? Keeping the ideas of negotiation and dancing in mind may help you to navigate any flare-ups with someone over the next couple days — particularly if you can own your emotions and responsibilities without taking theirs on.

We’re on the approach to an eclipse: the July 16 Capricorn Full Moon and partial lunar eclipse. This is the companion event to the July 2 solar eclipse in Cancer. Typical protocol in the couple days surrounding an eclipse is to do your best to focus your intentions on some goal or life vision you’d like to move toward, and to do things you love and want to cultivate as steps toward that goal. Yet some eclipses also ask us to do some heavy lifting in the process. This may be one of those events, and if so, chances are you’re already aware of that feeling. The Cancer Sun’s opposition to Pluto describes this situation.

Bear in mind that ‘heavy lifting’ does not mean forcing a situation or dictating to others in order to get your way. It might, however, mean making an honest assessment of your emotions and overall wellbeing; and in light of that information, then taking a realistic, ground-up approach to fixing what has broken down — preferably by enlisting the help of anyone else involved and impacted.

The Moon enters Capricorn tonight at about 7:05 pm EDT (23:04:35 UTC). Its immediate conjunction to the centaur Pholus is a reminder that a little may go a very long way right now, especially where reactions are concerned. You don’t have to stuff your emotions and seal the jar tight, since that’s likely to backfire. Just remember that our current sky suggests implementing a delay on all responses that come from a place of frustration, slights to your ego, or old pain being triggered.

There are circumstances you will need to monitor and respond to, with the alternative being that they run out of control. This is true where financial matters are concerned, as well as relationships where power, sex or money are factors. You must be the one making the decisions in your own life. It’s all too easy to hand over your power. Study the ways this has happened to you in the past, so that you can avoid any such situation happening in the future.

With today’s Sagittarius Full Moon peaking at 4:31 am EDT / 8:30:33 UTC, chances are the layer of psychic or emotional amplification that it represents will be dissipating by the time you read this. Even so, there’s other astrology that is still building. For one, the Gemini Sun is opposing the Galactic Core and a centaur called Ixion. It appears to describe both the potential of facing something profound, and of facing either someone’s amoral actions (possibly the effects of your own?) or a second chance to choose ethically. Whatever it is probably came to light with the waxing Moon.

By 12:13 pm EDT / 16:13:10 UTC, the Moon will move into Capricorn — ringing the bells of some objects in the early cardinal signs. Awareness of issues around identity, sexuality, and runaway generational baggage could emerge. This is on top of the building opposition of Mars in Cancer and Pluto in Capricorn. Translation: this week continues the power struggle alert that’s been in force for the last week or two. Knowing when to pick your battles — and when to channel that energy toward more creative changes that are under your sole purview — appears to be an essential skill now.

Today’s meeting of the Moon and Jupiter offers many signs of hope and encouragement, though don’t put your eggs in anyone else’s basket but your own. You must find the guts to have confidence in yourself — enough confidence to take action, whether you think you will succeed or fail. The result is not the point, so much as whether you rise above the malaise of the world and challenge yourself to take action, no matter what else anyone says, does or thinks is right.

Tomorrow’s Full Moon in Sagittarius peaks in the morning (4:31 am EDT / 8:31 UTC), which means it’s at full strength today. Do you feel like you’re in the midst of a fertile meeting of mind and spirit — one where you have the opportunity to transmute some karma? Or something more like a chaotic confusion that’s grown from what you’ve been telling yourself to feel better, even if those ideas are not based in fact? Are you seeing signals that suggest a need for more fairness or honesty in a relationship? Wherever you are along the spectrum this Full Moon, you might want to consider documenting (especially visually) whatever is illuminated now.

Today Mercury in Cancer joins Mars in opposing Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, and also makes a trine to Neptune in Pisces. If you’ve been struggling with anyone, Mercury’s presence could help you to focus on what’s really going on beyond personality clashes and power struggles — in the sense that you may be able to combine a practical train of thought with an imaginative approach. However, it’s also possible to get drawn into some emotional over-focusing on your troubles. That, in turn, could prompt an urge to escape your sensitivities through fantasy — though consulting an older and wiser friend or mentor would be a fitting option.

If you can, notice which way you’re leaning, so you can adjust your attitude if necessary. You may feel as though you’re being challenged to demonstrate the relevancy and practicality of your ideals; whether that’s true or just your perception, remember that going through the process of walking your talk will likely be beneficial in the long run: either you prove your point, or else you discover the areas you need to strengthen.

The important thing with love is that you be able to receive it as well as to offer it. This is the essence of many seemingly different issues, though it’s all a masquerade ball. To love is to be able to accept love, because that describes openness, vulnerability and a measure of self-value. Beware of situations where you give yourself emotionally to some end that you don’t understand. Rather, as Paul McCartney said in “Hey Jude,” let it out and let it in.

Current astrology speaks of building pressure and potential conflict in at least a couple of different ways: Mars lighting up the Saturn-Pluto conjunction, and Monday’s Sagittarius Full Moon. Yet there are always options for how to handle confrontation-themed astrology; and the more aware you are of the dynamics and energetic currents at play, the freer you are to adjust your mindset and make choices that may ease the way, rather than exacerbate situations that are flaring up.

Today, when the Moon enters Sagittarius, you may notice the Full Moon effect starting to pick up the pace. This could come in the form of an increased yearning to be free of certain restrictions (especially those imposed by others), or to focus on your own long-term, big-picture callings in the face of others’ chatter and seemingly split focus. Yet in the early part of the day, the Moon conjoins the asteroid Ceres and makes a trine to Chiron in Aries.

It may help in any stuck-feeling situations to remember that there is always something more to learn from someone if you’re curious enough, and that standing out as who you are can actually support the process. It just may take a little extra tact, or an infusion of optimism, to navigate this new territory. Fact-checking your beliefs about what’s being said and what someone means could be another essential tool through the weekend.

Photographic Proof: Mars and the Sagittarius Full Moon

As you may be aware, we’re in the thick of Mars in Cancer making “the” aspects of the season (and of the year): oppositions to Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, which themselves are headed toward a stunning conjunction in January. We’re also building up to a Full Moon in Sagittarius on Monday that appears to carry some profound themes.

Speaking broadly, that’s a lot of energy looking for a way out, and it’s likely to find its expression in your relationships with other people. The Mars aspects indicate navigating the difference between empowered interactions and power struggles — with a layer of karma-fueled growth pointing toward new territory. The Full Moon, taking place on the ‘mental/spiritual’ spectrum, also carries its own karmic twist, which you may be able to apply to your relationships.

First, a refresher of the Mars aspects. Tomorrow (Friday), Mars makes an exact trine to Neptune in Pisces and makes its exact opposition to Saturn in Capricorn; on Wednesday, June 19, Mars opposes Pluto and heads toward Eris. All of these aspects have been in effect and growing in strength for a number of days already; you may find it useful to review Eric’s coverage of the themes from earlier in the week.
