Monday Morning Horoscope for Dec. 25, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
On Monday Venus joins the Sun, Saturn, Pluto and an unusual point called Quaoar (associated with family patterns and personal creation myths) in your birth sign. You might say this represents the formation of a brand new you, with a whole new mission. At this point of commencement, some basic information will help. First, your mission is to be accountable to yourself. You are responsible for keeping the promises you make to yourself, and you reap the results of your choices. Next, it would be wise of you to keep a close watch on the influence of your family over your choices, your thoughts and your relationships. This influence, of course, is mostly internal, though there are plenty of people still bossed around by their elder relatives well into their 50s and 60s (helicopter parents are nothing new). If that’s happening, it’s time to get a grip, even if you’re much younger. Tribes (of friends) can be just as oppressive. Your life is not about them. It’s about you.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Dec. 18, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Saturn entering your birth sign on Tuesday is the moment you’ve been waiting for, though that will be easier to discern once it’s happened. How this looks in the symbolism of astrology is that a hidden or missing aspect of yourself returns to you. Once you figure out that it’s back, you realize it always was there; and you can’t figure out how you missed it all this time. Saturn does have a way of pushing changes, though it also brings a sense of stability. The two work together: it helps to have a strong core when you want to rearrange your life. This will be in contrast to the kinds of changes you’ve experienced during the long, long spell that Pluto has been in your sign — that feeling of having your growth and evolution pushed onto you, and seeming to be out of your control. Saturn brings that back into balance. Rather than push ahead, though, you might spend some time cleaning up some of the debris from the demolition process of Pluto, and sort out what you want to keep and what you want to toss.
Planet Waves Weekly Horoscope for Dec. 14, 2017, #1180 | By Amy Elliott
Chances are you already have a pretty clear understanding of how far you’ve come in the past few years, though that might have been hard to see while in the midst. Now you’re finally emerging into a new phase of existence. I don’t really need to suggest that you keep in mind what you’ve learned, because you know the lessons are too important to forget. I will only say: don’t be afraid to express the person you have become. The world needs the example of your wisdom and integrity.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Dec. 11, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
I wish I could convey the sheer power, light, strangeness and mystery of all that’s happening in your chart (see Sagittarius for a description). All of this is occurring in your 12th solar house: the one that’s behind a scrim, almost where you cannot see it. But you can certainly feel it. Among the figures in your 12th is Saturn, the planet associated with Capricorn, and a good portion of the solar system, all at once. This might feel like being pregnant with quintuplets who have learned to play volleyball. However, the thing you’re going to give birth to is Saturn, which will penetrate the veil and emerge into your full awareness in just over a week. That’s another way of saying you will soon see all that was concealed. You will begin to experience all that was lurking in potential. You will begin a most remarkable three-year journey of coming to terms with yourself. Saturn, often mistaken for that which is stuck or inflexible, is one of the most dependable agents of change in all of astrology.
Planet Waves Weekly Horoscope for Dec. 7, 2017, #1179 | By Amy Elliott
Things may be a little tense for you this week, to say the least. Be particularly cautious against the possibility of overreaction in case of the unexpected; whatever transpires is unlikely to have unfolded in full, and may do so in as yet unimagined ways. Therefore, be patient with others around you, and with yourself. If you need some outlet for your feelings, consider opening up to people you trust; only be sure to tell the whole truth.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Dec. 4, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Over the next few weeks, you get an opportunity to sort out a diversity of personal matters prior to Saturn entering your sign. You may feel a need to make important decisions as a result of that, though I’ve developed what I call the “Saturn rule” in the course of my long astrological practice: Let Saturn make the first move, then respond. For you, this means delaying any action until Saturn has entered your sign on Dec. 19; then add a couple more days for solstice and Mercury stationing direct; and then a few more days for Mercury to come out of storm phase, right around New Year’s Eve. This is a roundabout way of saying take your time, gather information, make decisions and give yourself a chance to revise them before putting them into action. A lot is about to change in your life, which in many ways means improve. But not if you rush matters, or make irreversible moves with incomplete information.
Planet Waves Weekly Horoscope for Nov. 30, 2017, #1178 | by Amy Elliott
At this point you seem to have a pretty clear idea of where you’re headed, and you’ve been holding your course too long to take any wrong turning. Over the next few weeks, you’ll probably be making quite a few rest stops in order to tie up whatever loose ends are lying around. There will likely be moments when you feel you might burst if you wait any longer, and are inclined to rush. If that happens, just call to mind everything you’ve learned and cultivated in the past few years.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Nov. 27, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
You may be feeling all kinds of agitated; for example, like there’s something urgent you must act on, but you don’t know what it is, so you cannot possibly know what to do. If you slow down and tune in to your interior world, what’s percolating around in your mind will be easier to identify. Yet this calls for inner awareness, which is extremely rare to find these days. It’s so rare, many people don’t even know it exists; others have a clue but are made nervous by the experience of turning toward themselves. However, you now have some incentive, if only to alleviate stress. But there’s a more significant reward available, which involves preparation for a phase of your life that’s in the process of beginning. It’s fair to say your most pressing concern involves the future, which in turn relates to bringing certain important matters to closure so that you have nothing holding you back. Just a little reflection will help you figure out what those are.
Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for December 2017, #1177 | By Eric Francis
If you read astrology textbooks, you will not find many commentaries on signs where Saturn is supposed to have a positive expression. It is, however, the planet that rules your sign. You must cultivate a conscious and hopefully positive relationship with all that it represents. And while people do tend to have issues with authority (often a Saturn factor), you are at least aware that this is something you must address consciously. On Dec. 19, Saturn will enter your sign for the first time since the late 1980s. This begins an actual era of your life: a formative time; a time of transition, and of drawing out some of your deepest and most beautiful qualities. Get ready for that: what you contain, what is latent, what is lurking in potential, and what you simply must evolve into: you will be hearing from all of these things. There will be a peeling back and unearthing. Your life may at times feel like an archaeological dig. At other times you will feel like a potter in the studio, sculpting yourself as the wheel spins. While you’re using one hand to hold that pot stable from the outside (discipline, structure, restraint, timing), notice that your other hand is on the inside pushing yourself wider. That inner hand represents your passion, your desire, your thirst for life and your craving for experience. May your hands work together.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Nov. 20, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
You can take it easy exerting your will and dominance. You can in general, partly because you need to upgrade that strategy, though mainly because so much is happening in your inner world that you have no idea how your self-assertion of will might come out, or what effect you might create. Keep your focus inward for a while. Big movements are happening in your inner realms (see the Sagittarius reading this week for a description; that’s the sign that describes your inner reality and deep psychological process). You are working through some of your deepest fears. There’s only so much “work in progress” that you want to reveal to the world, especially where colleagues are concerned. If you need to work out this material with others, either stick to close friends or a spiritual advisor you trust, and who is in harmony with your overall viewpoint. For example, if you’re an artist, talk to someone who understands making art.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Nov. 13, 2017, #1176 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
You may find yourself in the role of disruptor of social norms. Protocol is important; so is consciously breaking protocol and shaking things up a little. You can start with the expectations of your relationships. It would be disruptive enough to get those out onto the table, and inquire whether they matter, or why; it would be downright revolutionary to figure out where they came from, and question all other seeming information or influences that came from that same source. You have had enough of being the property of others. You have had enough of playing a role in your relationships. And you’ve had way more than enough of having to be silent when you know the difference between right and wrong. This is not about making a list of complaints. It’s about starting with the single most important issue, problem or situation, and making it right. Once you start, you won’t be able to stop.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Nov. 6, 2017, #1175 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
The world is hungry for justice right now, and you can help provide it. The first way to do that is by being a fair and just person in all that you do, particularly in your most intimate relationships — but in truth, all the time. This will involve coming out of automatic mode, and consciously assessing every situation you find yourself in. While you’re doing this, you may notice the first five or six times how easy it is to go back into robotic thinking, which is another way of saying not really thinking at all. When you take over, you’ll discover that you have more power than you previously thought. You have the ability to intervene in situations where you do no harm — and that is the true metric of fairness. What seems unjust is almost always about one person taking advantage of another. You’re free to declare you’ve had quite enough of this.
Planet Waves Weekly Horoscope for Nov. 2, 2017, #1174 | By Amy Elliott
In some ways, the approaching changes before us — as several outer planets prepare to switch signs — are already familiar to you. That’s because you’ve experienced a process of maturing on the most inward level, which has slowly rebuilt you from the inside out, and strengthened your resilience. The key now is to let your renewed self out to play. One way to do this is through creativity. Resist any temptation to hold back: people need to see your truth just as much as you need to express it.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Oct. 30, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Once again your aspects are encouraging you to focus on justice, and make sure the right thing happens. This theme may come up over and over again; there’s plenty of injustice in the world, so much that it’s getting annoying. You may not be able to do much to fix the world, though there’s plenty you can do in your immediate environment, and among the people you know. Let this influence every decision you make. You have more influence and even authority than you may admit, though you might have to go against the grain or risk rubbing someone the wrong way to use it. At a certain point, it’s necessary to set aside the petty grievances of the ego, the little ways in which people claim to be hurt, and their resistance to change. That is, don’t tolerate these things in yourself, and don’t give them any needless emphasis when others bring them up. Just do what’s right.
Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for November 2017, #1173 | By Eric Francis
Do you really think you can put your faith in technology? Your solar chart suggests you might be doing this. If so, give it up. It’s the current mental plague that will strangle everyone and everything in its path, and is already doing a good job of it. Rather, you would do much better to invest your faith in the human realm, such as the living example you set every day. You’re currently in one of those phases where your leadership skills are in demand and in focus. Most of what you’re leading with is your own desire. You are demonstrating that what you want must be the guiding principle of your life. That sounds selfish, I know; though there’s one way to test the validity of these desires: they work for everyone else, too. This isn’t the trickle-down theory of economics. To the contrary, there’s a direct, mutual and immediate benefit between what serves you and what serves your family, company, community or the public. That’s the standard to orient on. At this stage of your life, nothing can be good for you and simultaneously bad for anyone else. The world has a lot to learn about this kind of plus-plus symbiosis (a fancy term for win-win). Set aside any feelings of competition you may be having. And remember, computers won’t solve any problems. Only you can, especially if you collaborate.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Oct. 23, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
This week, Mars enters the angle of your solar chart associated with fame, reputation and success. This is called the 10th house, about which I have my own theory. More than anything, it’s about accountability. That’s to say, it’s about taking responsibility for your life and for the wider life that surrounds you. The world does not need more celebrities, and it could do with far fewer people oriented on power. We would all be better off with people who set the example of integrity, and who understand the awesome power of decision. People respect you, and they look up to you. Therefore, go the extra mile and make sure that your actions are exemplary. Mars and other transits will contribute to your feeling more visible, and therefore more vulnerable. There is nowhere to hide. You are in a rare time of life when you must be known for who you are, come what may.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Oct. 16, 2017, #1172 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Float your ideas, rather than launch them like a rocket. You will have the latter impulse in a pretty strong way, especially early in the week: you may just feel this need to thrust yourself out there, come what may. That would probably not work out so well, one result of which could be a loss of control either over your personal affairs or an idea that’s dear to your heart. Hence, the cooler, easier-going approach: develop something till it’s pretty good, like a second or third draft, and pass it around and get feedback. Test your idea out on a select audience, or run it past some people you consider mentors or masters of your particular craft. Make revisions, though staying true to the original impulse or motive that’s guiding you for as long as it seems relevant. Be aware that you don’t have to rush. For the next two months, your ruling planet Saturn will be moving through a sensitive part of your chart, heading for your sign. You’ll want to be ready, or even over-prepared, by then.
Jupiter in Scorpio Horoscope for Oct. 12, 2017, #1171 | By Amy Elliott
Jupiter entering Scorpio could well offer you some delightful opportunities, in terms of both expanding your social network and supplying a new lease on life professionally. At any rate, you’re likely to meet some interesting new contacts; so it would be wise to show up where you’re invited, at least sometimes. The important point: all this relates to a mission that’s bigger than you, or any ambition you might have to get ahead. This is about being part of the great collective that is humanity. Stay true to your higher calling, and work to promote the welfare of as many people as possible.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Oct. 9, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Express yourself truly. That does not mean being a jerk or giving yourself permission to self-contradict every hour. Rather, this idea means being true to who you are, and to what you know. If you’re in harmony with that, you’ll also be true to what you don’t know, and maintain awareness of when you don’t have the answers. Over the next day or so, you’re likely to focus some important goals in a new way, which will give you some direction and clarity, particularly in your professional life. This is, in part, about how you state your own objectives, by which I mean the phrasing (which counts for a lot). It’s then up to you to proceed with the utmost diplomacy and organize the support you need to set your goals in motion. Don’t count on others for leadership: that’s your role and yours alone. Rather, count on others to help you with the specific tasks at hand.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Oct. 2, 2017, #1170 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
The Sun and several helpful planets are now in Libra, your house of career. This will feel good to any Capricorn who wants to rise up and make their way in the world. Yet to make the most of this astrology, you must be decisive. Two aspects involving Libra — the opposition of Jupiter in Libra to Uranus in Aries, and the Aries Full Moon — are granting you the confidence to make the kinds of professional decisions you need to make. If there’s any extra hint of hesitation, it may be coming from the idea that there’s some kind of sacrifice involved: that to succeed, you must give something up. Yes, it’s true that professional writers get used to spending many beautiful, sunny days indoors, completing their work. To master one musical instrument, you may need to give up learning another. Everything comes at a price. The question to ask is: is it worth it?
Monday Morning Horoscope for Sept. 25, 2017, #1169 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
We’re just on the heels of the Libra equinox, and the Sun has entered the angle of your chart associated with accountability, authority and public recognition. It’s also conjunct Vesta, one of the great goddesses of Roman times, associated with the stability of the established order. It’s as if you’re standing guard over something of vital importance, holding space for the right thing to happen. While you’re doing this, there’s every kind of movement, madness and a kaleidoscopic dance of the energies. Yet everything is involved with everything else. All the seemingly different bits are part of the same grand pattern. You don’t need to control any outcomes. Rather, be willing to take responsibility for your own destiny and your own choices. Practice the art of respect, and of self-respect, and allow yourself to become part of anything you want, or anything that seems available. Even things that seem out of reach, though, are only a wormhole away.
Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for October 2017, #1168 | By Eric Francis
Alice A. Bailey, in her essential 1951 book Esoteric Astrology, describes Capricorn as representing “the life of the divine deeply embedded in substance.” We are learning to relate to this through recognizing that mountains are alive and have consciousness; that crystals are our friends and allies; and that the Earth itself, so long considered blind, deaf and inert, is fully aware of our presence. For many years, Pluto has been gradually working its way through your sign, which has felt like a plough turning over the ground, getting it ready for the planting of new seeds. Those seeds are now being sown, particularly where professional matters are concerned. You’ve been through a series of events over the summer that have compelled you to see beyond the details and minor points of existence, and to focus your mind on the longer story of your life. You are being called, at once, to take life more seriously, and to feed and encourage the childlike nature that is the true essence of your sign. Capricorn is considered the sign of climbing, and even of ruthless competition. This is a distortion and a misunderstanding. Your work is relational more than anything. Your first responsibility is to people and not to institutions. As such, you must be motivated by the love of what you do and those whom you serve, rather than by the love of success.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Sept. 18, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
You tend to make spiritual questions more complicated than they are. Is enlightenment or liberation attained through studying thick, dusty, ancient texts, or by following self-improvement techniques to the letter? Or do you finally get down to the “love or fear” question? In our society, so obsessed by allegedly improving everything all the time, we usually lose our grasp on how simple the very basic elements of life really are. To be spiritually connected is to be kind, respectful and, above all, of service to a world in crisis and in pain. That’s not a requirement for ‘success’ in the way we usually think of it, though for you, an intentionally helpful approach is essential to your peace of mind. In a few days, the Sun will cross the achievement and reputation of angle of your chart; and the question is not just what do you want to accomplish, but why, and for whom?
Planet Waves Weekly Horoscope for Sept. 14, 2017, #1167 | By Amy Elliott
You may find yourself in conflict with a specific belief, which is now either being shown up as false, or playing an active part in stopping you moving forward. If this particular creed has no obvious merit, at the least you might examine it very carefully, and consider why you’ve held to it for so long. Rules have a tendency to be limited in their application; sometimes it’s better to forget them, and turn directly to your inner compass for guidance. If you keep in mind a spirit of compassion and empathy, and a willingness to act ethically, you can’t really go far wrong.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Sept. 11, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Every now and then, the charts describe a metaphor of going to a higher place to take in the view. Perhaps visit a hilltop, or take in an interesting vista from the highway. You might visit the observation deck of a tall building, or even tool around in someone’s Cessna. Whatever it may be, let it involve taking yourself to a place where your eyes can see the horizon. That scene implies that there is one, and that there’s also something you can see. There’s some parallel related to a talent you possess and may have developed. In order to see and experience this for what it is, you’ll need a higher perspective, which could come in the form of an experience, or of allowing your imagination to draw yourself into a positive and fulfilling future existence. You don’t ask too much from life, but rather far too little.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Sept. 4, 2017, #1166 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
One theme of the post-eclipse phase of your life is ethics. You can think of this as the careful evaluation of what is right or wrong, based on your personal values. You can drive yourself crazy splitting hairs, and sometimes that’s necessary and relevant. There’s another side to what we call ethics, which is a related concept: ethos. You can think of that as the spirit of the law, rather than the letter of the law. That’s what you want. The truth, or what is correct, is rarely quantifiable, though you can feel it — and you can feel when that elusive thing is not there. For your purposes, there is such a thing as true and valid, though you will be able to sense it more than you can prove it. Therefore, be sensitive to what you’re feeling, including a certain kind of resistance that you know hints you’re investing your energy where it does not belong.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Aug. 28, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
What seems to be an ethical matter actually boils down to a distressing lack of vision. The question is not whether what you’re thinking, or wanting, is “right” or “wrong.” The issue, if there is one, is really about whether your life is interesting enough. You seem to be looking down the wrong end of your binoculars, when what you really need is a wide-angle lens. You need perspective and some distance on the situation, and more than anything, to approach your own life with a sense of humor. Remember that true intelligence is flexible and has a light touch. It’s less about final judgments and more about noticing how events are flowing now, and in what direction you’re headed. Be open to information that might lead you to change your mind, shift your perspective or cause you to refocus your priorities. This is a conscious act, fueled by curiosity.
Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for September 2017, #1164 | By Eric Francis
Are you wrestling with your conscience? Do you need to think about what is good, what is true, and what is righteous? This is preferable to doing the wrong thing, but I wonder what the questions or even struggle is about. You don’t need so much theory behind your approach to life, to love, or to work. You don’t need to plan as much as you do, especially if planning helps you feel less insecure. Nearly a decade of Pluto in your sign has taught you that everything forever changes. Yet you are the focus of change at the moment; though it’s a particularly challenging form of change since what seems to be most influenced is the structure of your psyche. What’s actually happening is that a personality husk is falling away, and you’re exposing something more elemental and much closer to your core. This is about direct experience, not any form of theory. In a short time you’re going to start making decisions, which is a basic level of leadership, and you’ll need to choose on the basis of what is objectively right more than what seems right for you personally. What is right is right, and what is true is true, and it’s time that you embrace a wider concept of yourself, something that’s all-encompassing and committed to your true mission, rather than your questions about it.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Aug. 21, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
The theme of your life is justice and fairness. You must equate yourself with these things, as ideas and as necessities. First and foremost, this involves shared finances. Total identification is essential: you are the model, the source and the inspiration for all that is right and true. That may mean making some adjustments: for example, listening more carefully, to the point of breaking a sweat when you figure out where someone is coming from. Yet the most meaningful thing you can do is see the folly and the fallacy of jealousy. To the extent that this is part of your character, you are debilitated in your ability to be fair. This also impinges on your ability to be honest, since jealousy requires concealment. Let go of your tendency to keep score in your relationships, and devote yourself to giving more than you receive. There will be other phases of your life; other modes in which you exist; for now, this is a crucial layer of your growth to master and embody.
Planet Waves Weekly Horoscope for Aug. 17, 2017, #1163 | By Amy Elliott
This would seem to be a time in which you need to muster some courage and emerge into the open. This can be a difficult task, especially when several factors appear so uncertain. Yet to some extent this will always be the case in human life. It’s not possible to organize everything into neat pigeonholes. The sooner you put the kibosh to that idea, the sooner you can start to relax. Get out into the world and merge with its delightful randomness. Chances are, you’ll enjoy it a lot more than you think.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Aug. 14, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
It may seem impossible to get on the same page as someone close to you, even though the mutual desire is there. The thing that must happen is an objective conversation about where everyone is at, with no thought of money, jealousy, the in-laws or, for that matter, the outlaws. The discussion had best be cool, factual and held someplace besides the bedroom. It needs to be a private space, since sensitive subject matter will come up, though it should have a neutral feeling: a quiet or closed restaurant, a hotel room, or any space where there are relatively few past impressions. This conversation must be about what is important to everyone, now. Then once that’s on the table, you discuss the potential points of agreement, and the points of departure. Once you know that, you will know exactly what to do. Remember: the future is unwritten, if you’re not bogged in secrets.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Aug. 7, 2017, #1162 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Belief is fragile, and it verges on useless. Why is that? Believing something tends to extinguish the quest for truth. What’s worse, most beliefs are of themselves not based on reality, on facts, or even on accurate perceptions. This week, Mercury stations retrograde in the angle of your chart associated with religion, spirituality and all processes of learning. You have Virgo in this angle, which describes your tendency to want the details before you offer your trust. That would be a wholesome approach to life this week. Let yourself ask the big questions. Don’t be in a hurry to have answers; let the mystery stand, and feel the strength that doing so gives you. Your quest through the Earthly plane of existence is driven by your questions, and it’s suspended by accepting false answers. A new phase of your quest begins this week. Be bold and stay hot on the trail…of whatever you may seek.
Aquarius Full Moon Moonshine Horoscope, #1161 | by Len Wallick
It’s evident that you have finally made (or, more likely, remade) a place in the world. This does not mean you have no farther to go. The greatest of your lifetime accomplishments are probably just beginning to manifest. Nonetheless, unless you are a late-blooming exception, you have at least found a foothold among us. Now it’s time to start getting more comfortable with, and in, your own body. Your physical being may not be perfect, but it is yours, representing both everything you have inherited and all you have experienced so far in your life. If you are ultimately to feel complete and whole, it will have to be because you have come to terms with your own flesh and found it to be every bit as worthy as any of your achievements or acquisitions. Even if your physical growth is long past complete, it’s still important (and maybe even necessary) to further grow into what must certainly be your most important possession.
Monday Morning Horoscope for July 31, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Your charts describe you being driven by passion you cannot understand or contain. They might be describing sexual or emotional involvement with another person, or potentially a business arrangement. It might even be both at once, which would call for extra-special care. In essence, you must sort yourself out of the situation. The risk you may be running is being so overly involved that you cannot distinguish your needs and interests from those of someone else. If the relationship is mutually profitable and the vibes are positive, that’s an excellent sign, though it would still be advisable to have an exit strategy if you need it. The energy will continue to build until the Full Moon eclipse on Aug. 7, at which time you will be able to see your own interests clearly. But really, you want to figure out what they are long before then. And to do that, you will need to get some emotional distance, slow down, and actually think clear thoughts.
Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for August 2017, #1160 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
From the wisdom of traditional tantra, we know that spiritual growth isn’t real unless it incorporates and accepts sexual awareness and experience. We know that sexual experience verges on meaningless if it does not invest itself in existential awareness and love, which is the actual meaning of ‘spiritual’. You often struggle to claim yourself back from the sexual situations in which you become involved. Often, money gets mingled up in them, your sense of self-worth and identity gets invested, and it’s just too complicated. Fear of these scenarios prevents you from actually getting to know people, since typically these associations seem to be all or nothing. Yet you don’t commit to having three of someone’s children by smiling at them. A dinner invitation is not a marriage proposal. And you’re a whole person, never half of a relationship. A total eclipse in the angle of your chart that describes all of these issues will feel like a birth from one reality to the next. You may experience yourself passing through a narrow passageway, which may have the feeling of giving something up. Make the trip willingly. It will take some time for the dust to settle; by the time Saturn arrives in your sign later in the year, you will know that you are safely in a new reality and a new experience of your existence.
Monday Morning Horoscope for July 24, 2017, #1159 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Sunday’s Leo New Moon happened in the angle of your chart associated with deep sexual and emotional bonding — and financial legacies, inheritances and marriage. You must treat each of these subjects separately, rather than allowing them all to merge into one thing. You will have more influence over your own life if you see each of the issues for what they are. Make no mistake, there are others who would prefer if you remained confused or, at least, so swept up in your own passion that you don’t bother understanding what’s really happening. You can have great fun right now, and make considerable progress in the most meaningful areas of your life; though the cost of that will be vigilance, self-awareness and maintaining clear agreements with the people around you — especially those you find most frightening.
Monday Morning Horoscope for July 17, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Consider yourself the equal of the people around you. I don’t mean this in theory, and it doesn’t just apply to those younger, less knowledgeable, or less accomplished. It also applies to those you think of as superior in any way. Now, this must be done subtly. Here’s how I mean it: If you’re a guitar player and you meet Mark Knopfler, you can greet him as your fellow guitarist. If you’re a photographer and you meet Annie Leibovitz, honor her as your sister photographer. Not better, not worse, neither above nor beneath, but as someone you share something with. This would go for the younger and less experienced ones you may meet: recognize their potential, honor their intention to succeed, and be available to them. If equality exists, it’s subtle, and it lives surrounded by terms and conditions. Keep it simple.
Planet Waves Weekly Horoscope for July 13, 2017, #1158 | By Amy Elliott
Some possibly intense emotions you might have been feeling with regard to your relationships are starting to settle into a calmer state. You still need to get a grip on the reins, and make some decisions that will help you both assert your needs and respect those of others. Start to break away from any past scripts that are holding back your confidence, and speak your truth boldly. Ultimately, you alone can fulfill your dharma, though it’s ok to ask for help from those who care about you.
Monday Morning Horoscope for July 10, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
The very recent Full Moon in your sign stirred up some of your insecurities, and might have come with the feeling that you’re more alone in the world than you realized. Yet that is the first step toward making real contact, both with yourself and with others who can actually reach you inside. Unless you get to that place of existential solitude, you have not reached the core from which all authentic relationships spring. This week, the high-potency astrology continues on an almost daily basis. Certain events may trigger your deepest insecurities. Yet be mindful that these events are not causing your feelings; they are merely serving to reveal them. These are the same fears and weaknesses that have caused you, again and again, to give up your power, and then wonder how the heck that happened. This goes back a long way. So, let yourself be triggered, and claim your strength.
Monday Morning Horoscope for July 3, 2017, #1157 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Let others show you what you need to see. You seem to require proof; look at what they have to offer. Allow yourself to be guided out of your blind spot, which is both emotional and sensory. You want to succeed, though your current vision of success is a mirage. You need a better one, though you know that will take you through some profound changes, including giving up all the false ideas about yourself that you’ve been dragging around for lord knows how long. That will require vulnerability, which is not exactly your favorite pastime. Yet to come out of your shell, you must become that new thing born into the world. You cannot do this by projecting an image of yourself. You can only do it by bringing the substance of who you are into your environment, certain of one thing: you don’t know what will happen.
Monday Morning Horoscope for June 26, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Look for yourself, or some element of your own truth, in any person who approaches you with a thought, issue or question. Even if you have to stretch a little, consider the common ground you share with whoever is talking to you. That will go a long way toward defusing any tensions, ratcheting down any arguments, and shifting the conversation to a productive place. This is one of those weeks when anyone strong will need to express that through their sensitivity and empathy. Not everyone will be a neurotic mess, though; a few select individuals will be responding to this week’s unusual astrology as if it’s the coolest space weather we’ve ever had. Venus, the planet of love and pleasure, remains in your 5th solar house of pleasure, play, fun and games. Hang out with someone who knows how to keep it light.
Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for July 2017, #1156 | By Eric Francis
During the next seven weeks, there will be two New Moon events in the sign Leo, which is one of the most sensitive areas in your solar chart. This is called the 8th solar house: a profound zone of transformation, rebirth, merging and separating from others, and losing and finding yourself. In classical astrology, the themes of death, inheritance and dowry come up; in modern astrology, the 8th stands for profoundly transformative events. And you have Leo there, which suggests that your pride interferes with your ability to be honest. Your self-concept makes it difficult to let go of your self-concept, and you can be stuck wondering whether your hair is done up right for the big ayahuasca ceremony. One of these two New Moons is a profound total eclipse of the Sun in Leo, which takes place Aug. 21, and the other is a potent Leo New Moon conjunct Mars on July 23. This is some serious transformational mojo. If you have jealous tendencies, or are into control dramas, you can expect these things to be crushed to powder. You might just give them up in advance and save all the energy. The overarching message of these events is to remind you that no relationship is a trophy; no profession bestows status; no person is your property; you are the property of no other person. That’s cause for celebration.
Monday Morning Horoscope for June 19, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Relationships are an experiment. Life is an experiment. Art had better be an experiment or it’s not even vaguely art, and sex is designed to be a creative adventure. Does any of this sound familiar, or does it sound like the impossible dream? It’s time to pull the curtains and open the windows and let in some new experiences of life. If you can throw away the habit of trying to make everyone fit into your preconceived concept of reality, you and the people around you will have what seems like incredible fun. You will, however, have to be accustomed to that odd feeling of unpredictability, which comes with the territory of actually living your life rather than living a plan. Beautiful things are waiting for you, if you open your eyes and open your mind to them.
Weekly Horoscope for June 15, 2017 #1155 | By Amy Elliott
Be patient with yourself. While you might be frustrated at an apparent lack of progress, it’s almost certainly because you can’t see what you’ve already achieved, and the ways in which you’ve changed and grown as a result. One thing you definitely have on your side presently is at least one ally with serious clout. You can safely draw on their support; try to take on board the advice they offer, and put it into practice if you can. Soon enough, you’ll understand where all this was heading, and what to do next.
Monday Morning Horoscope for June 12, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
If you’re feeling any form of emotional disturbance, remember, it’s just energy. Think of energy like waves on the beach. If you line your surfboard up with the incoming waves, you can take a very nice ride to the shore. If you get caught sideways in a wave, you can get dunked under the water. So the first thing to do is to feel the tides and the currents, and orient yourself appropriately. The Sun in Gemini aligns with some of the most potent, disruptive and potentially creative forces in the sky right now, and if you keep a positive attitude and remember what you want to accomplish, you’ll be unstoppable. Mars in Cancer, your relationship house, describes assertive people willing to help you. Align with them, work cooperatively, and you’ll be amazed at what you get done.
Monday Morning Horoscope for June 5, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Perhaps despite your deepest hesitation, your life is becoming more passionate. Creative and amorous energy is rising within you, and approaching you. Yet there’s no compromise position between passion and hesitation. You cannot have both; you must choose one way of life or the other. The distinctly modern attempt to have it both ways is to want the human contact and pleasure without the intimacy. Not only is this unsafe, it’s not possible. Proximity to people you’re drawn to is the very thing that inspires and facilitates intimacy, and this happens on a biological level; it’s not merely psychological. Said another way, your body has its own needs and desires. You might pause, tune in and get a feeling for what your cells, your blood and your bones are telling you, every minute of the day.
Short Monthly Horoscope for June 2017, #1154 | By Eric Francis
How do you respond when people approach you with desire? Do you brush them off or neg them, or do you take the compliment? Someone else expressing desire for you places no obligation on you. Nor do you have any duty to be welcoming. These days, you’re the flavor of the month, and you might want to maintain your reputation for respect and honor even if you’re not interested in some of your potential suitors. All is not fair in war, and all is certainly not fair in love. You’re the one who must make it so.
Monday Morning Horoscope for May 29, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Events this week will help you discover, and challenge, your hidden beliefs. It’s good to know what those are; if you have some concept of reality that’s running your show, it’s best to be able to state it out loud, though that’s pretty unusual. You might discover, though, that people are holding you accountable for ideas you didn’t even know you had. Before you agree or disagree with anyone’s position, check in and see if that belief or value actually exists. This will take some self-awareness, which is what your life is all about these days. Your environment will provide clues. Make sure you take a wide view of the world around you, and see what you observe in its many contexts. Said another way, look around at the world and withhold judgment long enough to see the diversity of viewpoints — and figure out what you really believe.
Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for June 2017, #1153 | By Eric Francis
You need a change in perspective and environment. This means shifting your emphasis away from things you must do, and people you must do things for. It means emphasizing what’s interesting over what’s boring; what’s new over what’s repetitive; what helps you relax rather than what’s hyper-focused. Fortunately there are activities and people calling you, and it would seem that you feel the resonance and are excited about having some fun. The question is, if you’re not ready to dive in, what’s holding you back? Is it a commitment to someone, which might carry an implied ‘threat’ to the relationship if you explore yourself in new ways? The nature of commitment, jealousy, and control in your relationships is a theme to consider carefully. You have the perfect opportunity to do that if you want to explore someone or something but feel like you can’t, you shouldn’t, or you mustn’t. Many people believe that these strictures are worth it, to get all the benefits of the relationship. It’s worth questioning carefully whether that’s really true, and what the real benefit to you is. There are commitments that yield freedom, and there are commitments whose primary benefit is constraining freedom and limiting one’s options. Yes, strangely, strictures are often experienced as a benefit, though this is rarely acknowledged. The question is: what life do you really want to lead?
Monday Morning Horoscope for May 22, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Your solar chart this week presents you with an interesting scenario: how effectively can you avoid family, household and work drama, and keep focused on the creative task at hand? This may involve your official job, or it may involve a project you’ve got going on the side. Either way, it looks like the most important priority that you just cannot seem to get to. Of course, there are plenty of compelling reasons to be distracted. The challenge you face is that of any person who is devoted to developing their talent: deciding that what you want to do is more compelling than anything that might sidetrack you. If this takes discipline, it’s nothing other than the same focus of mind and power of prioritization that all successful writers, artists, musicians and businesspeople must master. Go for it.
Weekly Horoscope for May 18, 2017 #1152 | By Amy Elliott
Some hard work appears to have paid off, and the recognition you’re receiving now is no more than what you’ve thoroughly merited. Your next project is to accept it. If you’re finding that difficult, it’s likely because you’re afraid of what might happen. You’ve gained confidence! How ghastly! What dreadful thing will you do next?! I strongly suggest you not worry, and that you savor the respect you’ve earned. Let it fill you with sunshine. You’ll still be you.
Monday Morning Horoscope for May 15, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
You seem to be obsessed with a partnership issue, as if it’s necessary that you mark the score right down to the inning. You might want to back off on that approach, if this applies to you, given that it’s not going to lead to anyone’s happiness or any progress in the relationship. In all aspects of your life, you’re being called upon to take a more spiritual approach to existence. Spiritual means loving, forgiving, seeing the big picture and, most of all, putting your own growth ahead of any growth that you think someone else needs. Much of what you’re experiencing now is connected to your early family history, which has, through much of the year, come up for an intensive review. It’s typical of your sign to remain heavily invested in your family of origin, which is one thing; anything that mandates that you give up your adult power, prerogatives and responsibilities is another.
Scorpio Full Moon Moonshine Horoscope, #1151 | By Len Wallick
Now you’ve got it. Admit it. Internal processing that used to take months for you to move through is now usually completed in a matter of days. Of course, you have probably had some help. Be sure to thank those who have demonstrated their love and shown their support by helping you to move on from what was more of an existence, and into what is clearly a more authentic life. While you are in the process of expressing gratitude, don’t forget yourself. After all, it has been your desires that have motivated you. It has also been your strong sense of self-worth that kept you from settling for less than you need. In addition, without your commitment to a vision of what could be, nobody else would have known enough to do more than simply encourage you to accept what is. Yep, you may have had help, but what you did on your own to improve the quality of your life is something you should never forget.
Monday Morning Horoscope for May 8, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
You have no special need for any form of a relationship other than one where you have fun and also that serves some practical purposes. In other words, skip the part about official status, appearances and the religious formalities. Stick to love and friendship, and that’s what you’ll get. You seem to be in a lengthy process of re-evaluating many of these questions, and when you get to the end of it, you may decide that it was all much ado about nothing. You need companionship, not status. You need friendship, not image. And you need most of all people who respect your home, which is your sanctuary. You’ve had enough samples of the opposite of all of those things that, by now, you already know where you stand with yourself. The views of others matter far less than you may think, but only if you agree to that.
Short Monthly Horoscope for May 2017, #1150 | By Eric Francis
While it may seem that a relationship is changing, what’s really evolving is your concept of what a relationship should be. Nearly all the prevailing notions of relationship lack clear expectations, and most lack dependable role models. It’s time to raise your awareness about these matters, and take a step in the direction that follows your other advances in maturity. The bottom line in any successful relationship is that people share the same spiritual goals, and agree how they plan to get there. Then, life happens — though at least you have those underlying principles as your foundation.
Monday Morning Horoscope for May 1, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
There’s a way to be a positive influence on your family without getting all tangled up in their baldly neurotic tendencies. By that I mean that their self-defeating, time-wasting tendencies have nothing to do with you, though the benefit to the situation is that you’re getting an excellent inventory of everything that you don’t want to be, or become. Your appropriate role is to set a positive example of appropriateness and self-esteem. That specifically precludes getting too involved in the discussion, or having it in any way distract you from your affairs. Where a young person is involved, make sure you take a balanced approach. It’s possible that they’re a victim of circumstances and adults who cannot keep a grip. It’s also possible that they’re up to some mischief of their own. Hence, invest your energy in getting the facts — and deal with people one-on-one rather than in groups.
Weekly Horoscope for April 27, 2017, #1149 | By Amy Elliott
It’s time for you to escape the confines of the past and reach for your potential. You may think this is easier said than done; but freedom has been a long time coming, as every day has made you a little better acquainted with yourself. You are now as familiar with your internal world as many people are with their physical home. This phase of your life was necessary: you had a lot to process. You have every reason to be proud of what you’ve achieved in getting this far, however inclined you might feel to dismiss it. Now you can look to the future.
Monday Morning Horoscope for April 24, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Whatever may be going on in your family or household, you run the risk of getting dragged into something that has nothing to do with you. Your people-pleasing (or daddy-pleasing) tendencies could get you into this, as could the political maneuverings of certain people who have a known reputation as operators. No matter how tempting it may be to add your two cents, stick up for someone or come to the rescue, you are not only free to step back entirely: you would be well-advised to do so. There would seem to be no halfway point here. Either you’re shorn of the whole situation, or you’ll be drawn all the way in. You have better things to do with your precious time and energy than play games with people who could be best described as rebels without a cause — or perhaps without a clue.
Planet Waves Monthly Horoscopes for May 2017, #1148 | By Eric Francis
From the look of your solar chart, family or household matters have recently come to a head — and you’re wondering what to do. The question is, whose business is this? Is it really yours? Or are you haplessly being drawn into someone else’s drama? And if this has happened before, how hapless can it be? I recognize that the notion of false security is alluring, especially if you think it’s the only security there is. Emotional independence may seem frightening. Closer to the point, though, is that craziness and chaos serves a purpose, which is to distract you from your purpose. Why would you want that? Well, to some, success is terrifying. After all, you can fail. But does that make any sense at all? You seem to be a hostage of a situation that’s nothing more than a distraction. Meanwhile, you have work to do. How do you feel when you do that work? Do you feel like you’re abandoning anyone? There’s fun you want to have. How do you feel when you aspire to recreation and pleasure? If the answer is guilty, it’s time to start snipping apron strings, and if they grow back, snip them again. If you need your own bed to sleep in, and your own fridge to eat from, then that’s the thing to do. Life, the real thing, is calling you.
Monday Morning Horoscope for April 17, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
If you’re feeling a weakness or seeming flaw in your character, take a step back and evaluate things slowly and carefully. Perhaps it’s true that you’ve found your ‘Achilles heel’: that’s from the story of the Greek hero whose mother dipped him in the river Styx when he was a kid, thereby granting him special powers. Yet she held him by the foot, and his un-dipped heel became his vulnerability. Here’s another perspective: that vulnerability is where your true power comes from, as long as you use it that way consciously. One last detail from mythology: the river Styx is the one associated with forgetting past lives. The ‘undipped’ and vulnerable part of you is that which remembers something important from the past — perhaps the very distant past — and that’s information you need, and need to use, right now.
Weekly Horoscope for April 13, 2017 #1147 | By Amy Elliott
You may feel inclined, lately, to spend more time than usual in the place you consider to be your home. This can include any actual venue; the point is that you feel comfortable and relaxed, and refreshed in the same way as a good night’s sleep nourishes the body and fosters recuperation. Just like with sleep, you also need enough time in your home space that you feel properly equipped to step outside it at the right moment. You may find that allowing yourself that time helps you feel stronger and firmer as a person, better able to stand your ground.
Monday Morning Horoscope for April 10, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Though you crave expressing yourself, it’s never quite easy. You seek perfection of your message and your ideas, though the lines seem to blur, and the colors and ideas melt into one another. Yet if you focus your mind and put your favorite creative tool into your hands (be it a pen, a camera, a paintbrush or a musical instrument) you may discover that your abilities are suddenly more accessible than ever. This is not an accident and it’s not luck; it’s about long preparation, and an alignment with your reality. This experience involves your relationship to the sign Pisces, where there’s some truly unusual cosmic activity at the moment and through the week. Give yourself all the space and time you need, or that you can muster, because anything truly creative wants to find its own space and its own rhythm. And remember, never judge your own performance.
Short Monthly Horoscope for April 2017, #1146 | By Eric Francis
Your feelings about relationships are starting to catch up with you. It would seem that you’ve experienced many moments of bold evolution. You’ve been growing at a pace that you can barely comprehend. Still, your ideas about relationships have yet to make the same progress. Be bold in asking yourself deep questions about what’s made you happy in the past. Do you really need so much structure? Do you really need to base your life on expectations, when you barely know what to expect of yourself? Relating to others is a dance. Feel for your natural rhythm, though you have little use for choreography.
Monday Morning Horoscope for April 3, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Looking at your solar chart, it would seem that you’re seeking security at all costs — and that’s probably way too expensive. More likely, any real progress will come from a jolt to your reality. You’re the best person to deliver this, by making choices that honor your actual desires rather than the ones that are designed to preserve your stability. If you have the feeling that big changes are coming, be the one who initiates those changes rather than bracing for them to happen to you. You’ve been luring yourself into new adventures for a long time. If you notice that you’re in “approach and avoid” mode, perhaps consider that it’s about a guilt complex of some kind. The nature of guilt is resentment. Who do you resent and why? And how is that helping you get what you want?
Aries New Moon Moonshine Horoscope, #1145 | By Len Wallick
You may not yet fully appreciate the significance of a deceptively small step you took in recent weeks. Someday though, you will be able to look back on this period in your life and define it as a time when you took charge of an old pattern and turned it around. More is yet to come. The conscious work you have been doing over the last decade or so is showing unmistakable results. This most recent turnaround, however, is a new high. Like most people, you don’t always succeed on the first try. Now, you know in your bones how to try again without repeating what did not work before. In a very real way, you have reached a point of no return when it comes to settling for unsatisfactory results. For your next amazing feat, it would be appropriate if you came to recognize a giant leap when you make one.
Monday Morning Horoscope for March 27, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
You may not be getting outer results; for example, as obvious career advances or opportunities. Yet you are indeed making progress, building your talent and, most of all, becoming the person you have aspired to be. Focus your growth inwardly for now. Don’t worry about whether you’re recognized for what you do. Rather, recognize and invest in your own talent and your own potential. Do what you do with a focus on quality and integrity. Strive to be a master of your particular craft on the level of your own competence. Before long, you will get the recognition you deserve; and when that time comes, it’s essential that you be confident in yourself. Trusting your abilities has nothing to do with pretending, or with how you’re perceived. It’s an inner state of being that you can indeed attain.
Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for April 2017, #1144 | By Eric Francis
You have a curious relationship to your spiritual life. It’s almost as if it hides from you, or you overlook it, while you’re busy pursuing it. This can have a number of effects, including a kind of detachment or separation between what you do in the world, and your sense of a profound truth you contain and cannot express. If integrity is important to you, and I reckon that it is, your inner life requires alignment with your outer activity. If you feel like there’s a gap between the two (by choice or by circumstance) that calls for some investigation. You might feel as if there are things you must do to ensure your worldly existence, which call for a compromise. That was never true, and it’s never been less true than it is today. What you hold as sacred, and what you know to be your ‘original instructions’, are the very thing that you’re summoned to live, to express and in a sense to enforce in your material and worldly life. If there seem to be levels of truth, that’s likely to be the result of the density associated with the various levels in your mind. As an inhabitant of this Earth, there are some things you cannot avoid; there are facts that are true on every level or dimension of existence. This is your starting point, not your destination.
Monday Morning Horoscope for March 20, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
The Sun’s ingress into Aries will be highlighting family-related matters, and will focus attention on your household. This region of your chart, called the 4th solar house, is also connected to emotional security. You’ve got a lot going on in this house — the conjunction of Uranus and Eris, the forthcoming meeting of the Sun and Venus, and Mercury doing many interesting things. You cannot find your stability in clinging to the past, or to the idea of security. You need a much wider sense of what it means to feel grounded and confident living on the planet. Let’s start with an intangible resource: your intelligence. You can feel safe because you’re smart and sensitive. But like all resources, you must use this wisely and with discretion. Use your brains to notice the gaps in your knowledge; ask the right questions; formulate the answers carefully. And please, try to let go of that habit of outsmarting yourself.
Weekly Horoscope for March 16, 2017, #1143 | By Amy Elliott
The pace of change might seem perplexing and not so easy to deal with. A part of you is probably scoping out the nearest available storm shelter, where you can safely wait out the turbulence and then carry on with your usual routine. Yet these are changes for the better, and you are now beginning to see your efforts bear fruit. Don’t let any former confidence issues get to you now — persist doggedly, grudgingly if you must, but keep going. As renowned guerrilla artist Banksy put it: “If you get tired learn to rest, not to quit.”
Monday Morning Horoscope for March 13, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
You’re not really as conservative as you think. It’s true that on one level, Capricorn is all about tradition and propriety and integrity. And then there’s that part of you that wants to blow the world and its stuffy ways to bits. That’s about where we find you right now. You’ll feel a lot better if you stop worrying about what people think of you. Stop worrying about your image. It’s not that these things don’t matter, so much as that they’re always based on false perceptions, and trying to win the approval of mommy and daddy. Forget it. You’re an adult now, and their opinions not only don’t matter; worrying about them is like tying your shoelaces together and calling yourself well dressed. Every time you start worrying what someone will think, remind yourself to stop, and proceed like you’re the luckiest person in the world. You may well be.
Moonshine Horoscope for Virgo Full Moon, #1142 | By Len Wallick
Three quotes to guide you are all you need for the work you have been doing on yourself to show some permanent results. The first saying is most often attributed to Jesus: “Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you.” The second aphorism is something Gandhi usually gets credit for: “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Finally, there is a pithy and humble observation once apparently uttered by Abraham Lincoln: “I don’t like that man — I shall have to get to know him better.” The extent to which any of those three quotations seems corny to you will be the measure of what work you still have to do. On the other hand, any aspiration you feel to emulate the three people here quoted will be an indication of how far you have come towards having your own words similarly cited by others in the not too distant future.
Monday Morning Horoscope for March 6, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Some old family matters seem to be up for discussion, though make sure you have the issue right. Where you and your family of origin are concerned, the central question of your life is: in what ways did your existence threaten the egos of your early caregivers? You were a precocious child, which on one level impressed the people around you and on another seemed to demand their attention in a way that they didn’t quite know what to do with. Many people never give up on the struggle for their parents’ approval, no matter how old they are. This, in turn, translates into other circumstances. Which ones? Any situation where you lack the confidence to say or do what you want, or what you need. You simply must question why that happens, and not take any explanation that does not solve the problem. Of course, the inherent riddle of confidence is that at a certain point, you simply have to get over yourself. Keep in mind that you’re no longer a child.
Short Monthly Horoscope for March 2017, #1141 | By Eric Francis
When you get a moment of clarity, you’ll be surprised how much you were missing. Once you know, you’ll benefit from paying attention to the emotional details that really matter. Your insecurities will inform you of where you have healing work to do. You have a right to feel grounded and secure. You’ve worked for it. Yet in this world, it’s necessary to maintain your sense of safety and self-preservation with constant vigilance, a little bit every day. Go easy on doubting yourself. You’re usually right, as long as you leave space and freedom to be wrong.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Feb. 27, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Your life these days seems to be characterized by a struggle for mental clarity. Yet your solar chart suggests you ease back and listen to what your intuition tells you. If you are grappling with whether something is the right choice for you, you might try not reaching so far into the future. Study your present situation and how you feel about it. You seem to have discovered something over the weekend — a factor that was right before your eyes but that you somehow managed not to notice. It will be easy to forget, even if you have a revelation of some kind. Rather than trying to think things through, or prove them with your eyes, listen to the space around you; let your thoughts pulse like the sounds of waves rather than the sound of your fingers typing on a keyboard. You already know the truth; you just need to listen, and accept.
Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for March 2017, #1140 | By Eric Francis
How much time do you spend thinking about your family of origin? And what do you think about? Next, how much time do you spend on your self-development? And for the real question: can you share all facets of your personal growth with your family? Do they know the nuances or even the broad strokes of how you live and grow, of your spiritual, emotional, relational and sexual quest? Where do you hold back? And what if you were to share everything with them? Your response to this question will reveal much about your inner relationship. Those ‘withholds’ — the things you don’t want certain people to know — are part of an inner reality that you’re experiencing through other people. There is actually something to be said for having no secrets, particularly on those things that are absolutely central to your existence. You would not be concerned that anyone would think you’re weird or inappropriate if you did not have any reservations of your own. Where you have those reservations are likely to be places you’re holding back from yourself, or not fully comfortable with who you are. Whatever you may choose to share with others, recognize that full acceptance of yourself means having no secrets from others, nor veiling your motives, or your desires. This is not nearly as radical as it may seem.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Feb. 20, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Even under the best conditions, you must work to focus your mind. You speak to yourself in a language that other people don’t understand, and you use internal logic that may not make sense to others. It’s easy for you to get lost in your thoughts and in your imagination; and lately, you seem to be in a bit of psychic overload. This could be influencing anything from your overall state of organization, to your ability to form your thoughts into words that others can follow. One thing that would help you do this is to choose the order in which you want to do things, or say things. Aligning your thoughts with linear time will help, since most of what you have going on in your mind is a non-linearity. Use logic, and make sure you follow through into language, describing why something is meaningful and what that meaning is. Take on the burden of clear communication. You are the one who must make your ideas make sense — if you want to be understood.
Planet Waves Horoscope for Feb. 16, 2017 #1139 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
For five years, Uranus has been in Aries. Uranus is the most restless and revolutionary planet. It’s the ultimate archetype of disruption. And to the extent that you’ve tried to cling to any notion of yourself from the past, the result has been stressful. In fact if you’ve experienced any meltdowns related to “who you are” and “your family,” you now have a working metaphor to understand them. By far the pressure to change is more potent than anything that might incline you to stay in your shell. The added impact of Pluto through your sign (combined with the series of Uranus-Pluto squares from 2011 through 2014) is making it inevitable that you break free from previous definitions of yourself — from your family or from whatever source — yet you are somewhat stubborn and you do tend to cling to the past. This is, by the way, a tendency affirmed by the inherent past-orientation of Capricorn, and having Aries in a house inherently associated with the past and seeking security there. There is no point clinging. There is no point resisting who you are becoming. It’s long past time to cut the apron strings — no matter whom they are attached to. The ongoing conjunction of Uranus and Eris in your 4th house has raised this to anything from a constant drive to a fevered pitch to moments when you’re utterly frantic to bust into who you are and be who you are. The thing is, your future self is not as easy to perceive as your past self. Every transit I’ve described above adds up to you developing in ways that you simply cannot predict, and which therefore amount to a daunting unknown. In order to face who you are becoming, you must face that unknown.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Feb. 13, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Your solar chart suggests you may be feeling edgy, like you’re under some pressure you cannot see or identify, but which is following you around. The reason it’s following you is because it’s coming from inside you rather than some external source. One way to describe it is the sensation that you might lose control at any moment. At the same time, other influences are conspiring to make sure you loosen up your reality and stop keeping such an absurdly tight grip on yourself, particularly your feelings. You’re under cosmic influences that are teaching you to embrace passion rather than avoid it. If you’re playing the approach-avoid game with anything or anyone, ask yourself what you’re feeling guilty about. You’re not being held to the standard of perfection, though that’s different from fidelity to yourself and to your cause. Be faithful and sincere. A little focused intention and effort goes a long way these days.
Planet Waves Horoscope for Feb. 9, 2017 #1138 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Pluto has already compelled you to make many changes to the structure of your life, whether this has involved your previously most stable relationships, your home, your profession or, most of all, what you thought was the trajectory of your existence. When we move your charts up to 2017, a few things become apparent. One is that this process is still in full force, and that you’ll encounter some peak experiences of growth and self-discovery. By peak I really mean personal breakthroughs on a level you’ve never experienced. This is indicated by a subtle factor: in the conjunction of Pluto and asteroid Icarus in the most recent Capricorn solstice chart. Pluto gives the depth and the power of change; Icarus describes the craving to do this in big ways. That’s the thing about Icarus: it makes one want that experience of peaking, and its expression is often dramatic. Here’s the thing: Capricorn is like the surface. It’s more about your personality than what you really are. As a personality factor, it would be impressive (and often still is), were Pluto not in your sign revealing something deeper. The real changes from Pluto happen when you open up and something else is revealed. One thing to remember is that your integrity is not linked to your being unchanging. In fact, your integrity is about your ability to change in helpful ways, and not to resist what you need the most. As well, you must be honest with yourself and with others about your uncertainty. It’s all too tempting, in times of profound change, to attempt to cling to some form of fundamentalism or false security.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Feb. 6, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Mercury, the planet of mind and of ideas, is now making its way across the last degrees of your sign. Recently (on Jan. 29), it was conjunct Pluto in your sign, which represented some revelation, discovery or change of opinion, or perhaps all three. Remember what you discovered. It’s not just information that you need; you’re fully responsible for what you know. This is true in any event, though particularly if what you learned involves your finances, investments or business dealings. If you use what you know, on the other hand, you will be at a considerable advantage. I only bring this up because it looks like you might forget, or fail to see the implications of what you know. Remember, and make the connections. This influences many people besides yourself; that’s the heart of the matter.
Planet Waves Weekly Horoscope for Feb. 2, 2017 #1137 | By Len Wallick
There should be no doubt you have good reasons for any anger that has come up for you lately. The real question is how and when you should express any just and proper annoyance. Of course it is nearly always self-destructive to hide powerful emotions, and the last thing you want to do is damage yourself. Yet, perhaps now more than ever, it is also crucial that you direct your indignation so that it does maximum good and minimum harm to others. This means getting to the root of what has provoked you. Perhaps you can do it alone. Quite possibly you will need some help. Either way, you need to be absolutely clear about two things. First you must have no illusions regarding the source(s) of your vexations. Then, you must consciously own and accept full responsibility for how you choose to get rage off your chest.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Jan. 30, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
You’re about to figure out what you’re angry about. It’s funny how something can irritate or grate on you, and you don’t even know what it is. Then when you do, you have the choice to act, or suppress your feelings. There’s not much territory between. In or out are the options. However, it’s not healthy to turn anger or resentment onto yourself. While it’s not exactly peace-loving to turn your anger outward onto loved ones, even if they are the ones who provoked you, turning it inward results in guilt and sickness. You don’t need to rage out at anyone. Going to the gym would be helpful — your present state of mind demands some physical expression. The chances are that something in your present environment is referencing, and triggering, something in the past. Ask yourself what this is about. Listen to yourself. Say what you need to say, and do what you need to do. You can.
Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for February 2017 #1136 | By Eric Francis
Pluto in your sign is still pushing, pulling and stretching you, though I also hope you’re getting the message to aspire to bolder and more interesting things. That means having an idea of what’s bold and interesting to you, and reaching beyond your current circumstances, particularly in your profession. Make sure you aspire to what you really want, just in case you get it. That’s the whole thing with success: it’s demanding. Once attained, it often feels like you must earn it again every day. If you claim to have some knowledge, one of the first things you’re likely to discover is how much you need to learn; and something must motivate that process of education. Let that be love: not the love of image, or of appearance, or of the idea of something, but the actual thing itself. Have as few illusions as you can, lest you become disillusioned; and if you do, be grateful when illusions are replaced by something closer to reality. It’s a delicate balance, between reaching to exceed your grasp, and taking on too much responsibility — and there may not actually be a point of equilibrium. The one thing you can do, over and over again, every single day, is resolve to be true to yourself, and make each choice consciously. Then verify again and again that you’re actually faithful to yourself.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Jan. 23, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Trust what you say. Trust that your words are helpful and meaningful, even if you didn’t plan to say quite that thing. This is not always easy, especially if you have a tendency to be confident in the moment when you open your mouth, and then regret what you said a little while later. The challenge you face is to trust all the way through: when you feel moved to speak, and after you’ve said your piece. This is what it means to have actual faith in yourself. How do you get there? If you practice being moved by love every time you take action, you can fall back on that. If this is your habit, you’ll know that what you say is motivated by healing. Therefore, be gentle, and be real, and listen to how others respond to you without judging those responses. Be available to take part in any conversation that you start.
Short Monthly Horoscope for February 2017 #1135 | By Eric Francis
You may worry that you lack the self-confidence to do your best work, or to accomplish truly great things. It turns out that being sure of yourself is not a prerequisite for success, and that insecurity can sometimes be the best motivation. It would seem that you’re reaching upward when you feel uncertain of your foundation or your ability to stay in balance. The higher you reach, the more you may question whether that’s the right thing to do. There’s plenty of voltage in that equation. It will help you ensure that you do the best possible job, and present yourself impeccably well.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Jan. 16, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
You may not feel inclined to put your thoughts into words. From the look of your astrology, it’s all either way too personal, or way too confusing. Yet you need to bring the personal forward into your personal encounters. And one dependable way to get un-confused is to lay out what you’re thinking in front of you where you can see it. Start with the basic facts. Ask yourself where you stand with each of the important people who are now in your life. Consider the feeling of your environment. As you do this, you’ll begin to clarify your thoughts, which will make it easier to put your perceptions into words, which will help. You might take up the morning pages routine from The Artist’s Way — free-write three pages a day, every day, which you don’t read for a month or two. You need techniques like this to keep your mind awake and alert.
Moonshine Horoscope for Cancer Full Moon #1134 | By Len Wallick
Listen to yourself before you speak to others. First, hear your own thoughts clearly. Then, read your own words carefully. Finally, put yourself in the place of anybody and everybody who might ultimately be on the receiving end of your statements, before you finally reveal the contents of your mind to the world. If anybody means to do well by others right now, it’s probably you. This, however, is a time when you might easily be misunderstood prior to taking action. More often than not, what you say before you act will foment either welcome or resistance for you, regardless of what you actually plan to do. Therefore, take as much care as you possibly can to craft your statements so that they align with, smooth the way for, and authentically reflect how you envision your good intent eventually manifesting. Some say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. That’s probably not true. More likely any road to perdition has simply been laid carelessly.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Jan. 9, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
You have every reason to feel confident. You can push and stretch and exploit your capabilities. You can take charge, you can test limits and you can hold people to their commitments. Yet in order to truly feel alive, you must allow yourself to be vulnerable. This is what will give your life meaning, and what will allow the inspiration to flow into your experience of work or accomplishment. The way to start is with the words you say. Speak from your heart and make sure people know how much you care about them and how much you appreciate them, and remind them that you value their presence and loving support in your life. No matter how successful you are, you won’t feel human until you can home in on the human experience of trusting the people you love. This will teach you to trust yourself, which is the basis of all true confidence.
Short Monthly Horoscope for January 2017, #1133 | By Eric Francis
Take your time. There is no rush. You might feel like you have to arrive at some clear conclusion on short notice, though that’s unlikely to be true. If you pause, observe and listen, you’ll gather some essential information that will give you an advantage you might not have had otherwise. This information may seem like it’s coming from the world around you, though it’s really a personal revelation, a discovery about yourself, around the time Mercury retrograde ends on the 8th. Inner discoveries are the ones that change everything, because the world you live in is the one in your mind.
Monday Morning Horoscope for Jan. 2, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
You may be hesitating about making a decision about what you want to do with your life. Hesitate away! With Mercury moving backwards through your sign, you’re on the path to making a discovery, and with the Sun approaching Pluto, it’s going to be a big one. You might start the month with one goal, and then as the days unfold discover that you’re ready for an entirely different career. True, you don’t like to lurch or leap, but you do seem to be onto something brilliant.
Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for January 2017, #1131 | By Eric Francis
You have more impact than you may think — in ways that have not necessarily occurred to you. You must measure your words carefully, which means being aware of your thoughts and saying what you mean. Yet as the evil genius Frank Luntz suggested, it’s not what you say, it’s what people hear. It would be fair to say that you cannot take anything for granted. You cannot assume you are understood; you cannot allow others to guess what you’re feeling, nor allow yourself to speculate about their feelings. It may take all your discipline to clear this particular fog, though the results will be worth the effort. A measure of consistency is called for, though given the pace at which you’re growing, you’re not the same person every day. To compensate for that, you must at least be aware of your positions yesterday, today and tomorrow and at least admit that you’re changing your mind on a fairly regular basis. Admit your own contradictions, lest others feel that they’re going mad or that you don’t care about them. It would serve you well to be verbal and demonstrative about how much you care, and to do that rare thing of backing your words up with actions and decisions that reflect your point of view. This will teach you that you draw your true power from the strength of others, not from their weakness.
