Today’s Oracle takes us to the Aries weekly for March 25, 2005.

Aries turns the ignition of the horoscope. It is the point of origin of consciousness and desire. It’s the ultimate sign of individuality and a point of reference for the whole human family to connect in ways we all understand. Yet what it tends to struggle for is to see itself as an internally oriented being; someone whose reality proceeds from the inside out. This may be because Aries is so capable of creating its reality that the whole process is transparent. Mercury retrograde in your sign is taking you on a long and deep inward journey but not the kind that disconnects you from the world. The more you delve into yourself get to know yourself or feel the simple fact that you exist the more likely you are to feel connected to people connected to the world and able to see yourself as someone whose presence is genuinely appreciated. But to express the mysterious process you’re now going through in such terms is to understate the point. Each event each encounter each new thing you learn is an element in a process of total transformation that is occurring during the next few weeks and which will continue through the year. By this time in 2006 you will be rightly stunned at what you have achieved how far you have come who you have become and what you no longer needed that you finally left behind.

Pay close attention to what colleagues and friends are saying and developments on the work front won’t seem so surprising. What transpires over the next week or so has the power to benefit everyone in ways that few people could imagine, but as usual you’ll be the one playing drums. But you’re also in a unique position to hold a vision for the future and it’s as if the goals you have now carry a particular blessing that will allow them to manifest, not only more quickly, but bigger and better than anyone expects. But it’s a combination of intuition and work that will get you where you want to be.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Cancer monthly for January 2007.

There will come a moment when you question everything, and that is the moment when you will find your power. It’s coming sooner than you think, and I suggest you be glad of it. Life is a matter of the circumstances in which you partake participating meaningfully with you. Notice what energy comes back to you, and what does not; who or what pays you, and who or what does not; who or what spontaneously offers what you need, and who or what does not even notice. For you, the question ‘What gives?’ is not a rhetorical one; rather, it is a factual one, in two halves. If we start the process with you, it would be productive to notice where you find yourself giving with no decision or effort, and where you find yourself stressing and straining. Part two is who or what is reaching back to you, specifically with what you want or need? You’re going to find some extraordinary examples of commitment in your life, and some that you will easily be able to do without. In short, you don’t need it all, and it all does not need you. When you find the meeting points, you will know because a sense of ease and flow replaces the tension.

Creativity is serious business. I agree with Julia Cameron, author of The Artist’s Way: actually expressing your creativity is more about focus and discipline than it is about inspiration. Yes, it’s wonderful when work seems ‘truly inspired’, but that says nothing of the 15 drafts that went into an article or novel you love. It’s a little like the feeling you get sitting inside a cathedral, responding to the architecture — then you realize it took a century to build, requiring a mix of inspiration, engineering and persistence. Your chart is strong with all three right now. Gemini is famous for its challenges focusing; in order to harness your creative (or other) talents, what seems like an extreme kind of discipline is necessary. It’s not really extreme, though. It’s more about guiding your work process into a container. This might be about anything from a job search to a project you’ve wanted to do for a long time. The container is primarily about time and space. Define the time and set aside the space and you will make a lot more progress. I suggest you work with limits, such as ‘one hour on this project every day’, until whatever you’re doing has a life of its own. You will feel a threshold shift at that point. I would add a word of caution about the influence of friends. They are only your friends if they have the same basic agenda as you.

For someone as well-defined as you are, it is surely easy to lose yourself in what other people think, or what group dynamics demand. This does not serve you so well because most of the world is strutting around boldly in a state approaching panic, making up for it by forming little clubs where they feel safe. You, on the other hand, are more inclined to move cautiously amongst people while operating from a state of inner alignment, independence and self-awareness (if this ain’t true, you might want to see how good you are at it). You don’t need other people projecting their own sense of incompetence or insignificance on you. Yet you are at a moment in your life where it would be very good to think beyond the self-definitions you have carried — even if they served you well. You now get to release some elements of who and what you presumed you were, emptying out in preparation for a moment of embracing one or two truly original new personal attributes. Just take it slow.

There is no need to give yourself a hard time for not getting it right the first time. The important thing is that you are really gaining an understanding of something very difficult to grasp on an intellectual level and something that’s equally emotionally challenging. The mystery goes straight to the core of your identity far deeper than your ‘sense of self’. I am talking about your sense of soul. The time and effort it’s taken you so far have not been wasted and I don’t mean to sound philosophically appeasing. I mean certain things were not possible until now. But it is now.

Many people feel there is no room for who they are in the world, but now the world is standing aside and making some space. Perhaps certain people aren’t paying attention; perhaps others have got over their prejudices and expectations; others know that we need a blast of innovation and idealism if anything is going to move the story of the world forward. All this you bring, and much more. The only thing that could stop you is looking around you at eyes that are painted with the hues and images of the past. Look around and see the world the way it is today, free from anything you previously believed. Recognize that you have the strength and innovation to make the contribution you came here to make — sooner rather than later. Freedom is not something you can have in the future. You can only have it now.

Devote yourself to the art of compromise and you’ll come out with far more than what you think is your fair share. Lead the way. Embody the principle of the greatest good for all concerned, and trust the results. Look more closely at those who seem to come out on the losing end of an agreement and you will see what they have gained that you would not have otherwise noticed. Look at those who seem to gain the most and notice the ways in which they seem no better for the experience. In this world it’s easy to make up simplistic stories about why some people deserve to win and others deserve to lose. Go beyond those, to the deeper underlying truth that the benefits of life are not distributed evenly, no matter how hard anyone tries. You stand to gain enormously in the coming days. Be honest with yourself and those around you, and take at least one opportunity to be fair when you don’t have to be.
