You’ve also grown accustomed to life’s rewards coming in smaller payments rather than larger ones; and to viewing your peers as authority figures rather than as playmates. Get ready for a push; prepare yourself for a blast of irreverence, and to embark on an unusual quest for social freedom. This is not, by the way, going to come at the expense of your work or your creative aspirations. In an environment where you are doing so much as seeking wider personal expression, your energy will bubble to the surface, then come up with the force of a geyser. There is an exchange going on, but more is being exchanged than you think. How might you get a sense of what that is? Look at your art, writing, erotic play or other creative outflow and see what clues you can get. On one level, you may feel like you’re on an entirely inner journey that can lead only to the center of your being; on another level, everyone in your life is involved, and is receiving some impression of who you are and what you offer. You are in the spotlight; but you’re not performing, there is really no script, and whatever you do comes from your inner core and extends out to the world.

Consider all of these things individually, and what it would mean to embody them at the same time, and you will get a picture of what your power is at this moment. Your position is so strong, you don’t really have a clue because there are no precedents. You cannot rely on the past for information, and the past, I would add, cannot rely on you. In fact, the past is quickly approaching an encounter with the elemental force known as yourself, and it better watch out.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Scorpio monthly for September 2002.

You’re serving as a profound catalyst in the lives of those around you, whether you intend to be so or not. Scorpio often serves as an evolutionary accelerant, as anyone familiar with Pluto is aware. But two of the six named Centaur planets are right in your region: Pholus and Hylonome. For those new to the concept of a Centaur planet, they are the subsequent discoveries since Chiron, and they are about deep changes and healing the most serious issues that plague us both as individuals and as a civilization. In the case of these two planets, healing addiction and the grief of loss are (respectively) the subjects at hand. Centaurs represent abandoned or neglected parts of the soul coming back to life, and in the current setup, this may happen with surprising speed and clarity. Venus, now in your birth sign, speaks of how intimately others are involved in your process, and you in theirs. As A Course in Miracles teaches, “When I am healed, I am not healed alone.”

Remember that what you are pushing free from is mostly a feeling, so there’s actually very little pushing necessary. And in this particular case, there is also nothing to negotiate; you have your sense of emotional reality, and whoever else may be involved in your life has theirs. I would dare to say that at the moment, nobody else’s reality matters as much as yours does right now; or, looked at another way, you are putting some very large, significant pieces together within yourself, and you would be wise to prevent anybody else’s opinion getting in the way of your once-in-a-lifetime achievement. Anyway, you’ll like the results of integrity.

The theme of your chart these days involves your sense of place; there is something that would typically be described as your sense of security but the two are related. Pay attention to where you are — both the place and the space — and make up your mind about what you like; it would help a lot if you get a sense of why. Your life may be taking some rather stunning or surprising turns in the next couple of weeks (or even days), and you really need to have a sense of what suits you; what pleases you; what you need; and how you’re going to get it. If you remember this is about you, the extent to which it’s also about someone else should become fairly clear.

Like so many people, spiritual questions are the most important ones in your life right now. At least you have the gift of translating the mundane into the celestial, and taking mental frustrations as lessons that point to far more meaningful possibilities. It’s wise to question whether your desire to travel is just an impulsive desire to run away from certain very specific difficulties that appear to have taken root in your life, but I would propose that a journey would offer you a fresh point of view on yourself. Your problems are not as large as you think, and the possibilities awaiting you are not as small as you think. Perspective is everything.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Virgo weekly for Dec. 24, 2004.

It was Bob Dylan who said he wanted to find out what price you have to pay to get out of going through all these things twice. Apparently you have not paid it but you can get out of going through them all three times if you remember that when given an opportunity it is generally a limited-time offer. For some reason you have the incentive to pounce on an opportunity which in your somewhat careful approach to life may feel like an ambush. It’s really no such thing; it’s actually an easy opening and what you feel like you’re taking is really being given to you freely.
