I suggest you acquire some political skills, or refine and enhance the ones you have. Politics is the basic game of human society. It’s influenced by many things: privilege, sex, strength, resources and the propensity of certain individuals to violence — but at the end of the day, to be a skilled player you need none of that. You merely need an understanding of the game and why it is important. I am suggesting this not to get you further entrenched in an idea or an institution of some kind but rather to help you find some freedom. Getting along with others, learning to get your agenda going, and having some skill in give and take, are all essential talents worth developing. In any situation where politics is a necessary art, the antithesis is to stay in touch with your sexual desire. When you lose that vital contact, the game can become dangerous indeed.

Even if you’ve never done something so outrageous, devote the year to creating a series of art pieces, and don’t be afraid to take any similar risks. Or rather, it seemed to. In reality, much has been developing behind the scenes, and will soon emerge from behind the backdrop of your life. There is no need to push. Events will move pretty fast, and take you where you need to be.

Remember, don’t be a rebel for its own sake. Your values are more evolved than this, and you need to be cautious of the element of pride. Rebellion is a tool, and at times a weapon, that I suggest you use judiciously. Pride is dangerous when it’s not mixed with a good helping of awareness. If you find yourself getting caught up in the chaos of another person’s life, check in and see if you weren’t using one of these two factors to excess. It would help if you remember that there are some things about society that make no sense, and that you cannot do anything about, except ignore them and live your life your way. As you may soon discover, doing your thing because it’s what you want usually has far more influence on your environment than does trying to change the external world.

The world is in transition, so it should come as no surprise that you are as well. But why does it seem like everyone is having so much more fun than you? Why does it seem like you’re saddled with work, necessity, responsibility and the urgent need to heal from a situation that has provoked tremendous insecurity? Or, perhaps, some kind of mental strain? It’s not punishment, that I can tell you. It is more like a true calling, more like the medical student in the library when everyone else is out on the quad listening to the band. But you are being unnecessarily hard on yourself, to an extreme. You are not seeking your healing exactly where it is, and where it could help you. You need a soft space to feel, to learn and to let yourself love. You need a more peaceful way to consider the truth of yourself.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Aquarius monthly for October 2008.

Aquarius is the sign of groups and subtle contradictions. So subtle, indeed, they are often invisible. At the moment, you need contrast. I suggest you consider not only the viewpoints of those you admire, but also those who appear to be hypocrites. Find someone who has no morals at all; who does what they want and gets away with it. You seem to be in a space in life where you are penetrating through many layers of yourself looking for the one that is true; the one you can actually stand on like the solid Earth. Well, there is just one Earth and hopefully your feet are on it now. Neptune in your sign is here to remind you that everything you see and feel is an attribute of Maya or illusion. Chiron is here to remind you that everything you touch is real and can be documented. Oh, and that by your presence, dressed or naked, on top or on the bottom, you are one who heals as well as one who bestows pleasure consciously.

It would seem that the push the world needs most is for you to push yourself. You’re also in the position of being your own inspiration, your own best example, and the only person who can see through your doubts. Remember that at the moment, while your situation is not exactly delicate, timing is indeed critical. And so, too, is the particular way you direct your energy. You are working with forces so potent that you need to apply them in precise measure in their most appropriate moment. This will not be as difficult as it sounds. You just need to pay attention, and remember your own strength.

Freedom implies responsibility. Upcoming aspects point to a revolutionary new idea. This will in a sense take you back to the beginning of a process, to an idea-creation stage. To make this work for you, you will need to refine the best of these ideas quickly and efficiently, and get back to work. Remember to explore every phase of the process fully and consciously. Remember to be aware what you are rebelling against.
