Scorpio 2015

Planet Waves Weekly Horoscope — Dec. 17, 2015, #1080 | By Len Wallick

Put your powerful imagination to work by envisioning yourself in roles you have not yet dared to take on. For you, the most important part of your constructive daydreaming will be variety. Rather than becoming fixated on visualizing yourself as a rock star, for example, dare also to dream of being and doing many other things. As a matter of fact, no matter how strong your attachment to any particular fantasy, put it away after a day or two and allow yourself to move on to other reveries. That way, you will be maximizing the possibility of eventual fulfillment while minimizing the potential of ultimate disappointment. Unless your circumstances somehow dictate that you must soon settle on and manifest one — and only one — of the many possibilities you can see yourself becoming, take your time and wait until you have been through enough scenarios to be sure of which calls you with greatest certainty. This is not procrastination; it is finding your way.

Planet Waves Weekly Horoscope — Dec. 10, 2015, #1079 | By Len Wallick

You know you are loved. You know because some who love you reach out on a regular basis. You also know that others wait for you to accept the love they have to offer. Part of the love others offer is to ease your burdens in some way. Some have undoubtedly made it clear that they stand ready and willing to help you with physical encumbrances. Others offer a strong shoulder for emotional support. Then there are those whose clear yet learned perspective will help you see your way through any mental dilemmas. Also among those who love you are sure to be some whose spiritual development will fortify your faith. Finally, when you think about the work you have put into developing yourself over the years, you have evidence that you are fully capable of loving yourself. Just because you may have loved unwisely in the past, don’t assume that you are unworthy of love now.

Planet Waves Weekly Horoscope — Dec. 3, 2015, #1078 | By Len Wallick

Let yourself up. As a matter of fact, let the word ‘up’ be your mantra for a while. Take charge of your inner environment, and experiment with excluding the word ‘down’ from your vocabulary for the rest of the year except where absolutely necessary. That should be long enough for your outer environment to turn a corner and allow you to begin tidying up, as if to accept better times as your guest. It’s worth a try. When you awaken, try telling yourself to go beyond getting up. Encourage yourself to be up. When you are trying to resolve even the most intractable and discouraging challenges, envision yourself as cleaning up to make your circumstances better (as opposed to facing an odious and interminable chore). Finally, when your hard work and determination have you feeling most worn and weary, remind yourself to look up and notice the sky is still there.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope — December 2015, #1077 | By Eric Francis

When in doubt, consider the concept of role reversal. Imagine yourself doing what someone else does, or actually try it out; imagine someone doing what you do, and asking them to consider it. Humans tend to be blind to the viewpoints of others, and it doesn’t help that we don’t generally express our own perspective to others willingly, or well. Yet that is exactly what you need, so that you can get along with people and, better than that, do something creative. One set of roles to consider involves gender. These tend to be the most prepackaged and inflexible positions we play, even here in the world of metrosexual, transgender and heteroflexible. If you’ve already been experimenting with this, what have you learned? How has your worldview changed? Can you see ways to widen your inquiry into other areas of your life? Try this as many ways as you can think of. At the least, consider how others respond to you from their viewpoint, and see what you observe. What you may find is that this opens doors of communication and of empathy. Yet it will also open up possibilities that were previously concealed from view; access to ideas that were lurking below the surface; and your willingness to take action, whereas before you were content to wait for something to happen.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, #1076 | By Len Wallick

Make something. What you choose to create will not matter. Even the quality of what you produce will not be of great importance at first; the simpler and easier the better, at least to begin with. Cooking a meal from scratch will do very well for starters, even if you are the only one you are cooking for. So long as you can see something of yourself in what you make, it will be enough. Then, when you are finished, get started making something else. Not to keep yourself busy, and not because your service to others is somehow unworthy, but to demonstrate tangible evidence that will allow you to better monitor, understand and appreciate your state of mind and inner workings. Manifesting something of your soul and spirit in the world will produce a perspective that meditation alone will never be able to provide. Becoming part of your outer environment will reveal more than any mirror. Get it out; then take it in.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, #1075 | By Len Wallick

When it comes to all the material things you want to possess but do not, allow yourself to indulge an experiment in your thoughts. Imagine possessing anything and everything that appeals to you. Don’t actually move to acquire any of those things, however. At least not right away. Just keep a wish list. Once you have reached a point where you can no longer think of anything more to add to your ‘wants’, itemize all you already possess. Then imagine that you would have to give up something you have before being allowed to acquire something from your wish list, until you get down to a collection of the things you would never want to surrender even in exchange for something you desire. Next, consider what your life would be like if those remaining treasures that you would never want to part with were all that you have in the world. Finally ask yourself what a life with everything you want would cost you compared to a life in which you own only what you need and value most. Would it be worth it?

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, #1074 | By Len Wallick

Somebody once asked poet Robert Frost what word he would purge from the English language if he had the power to erase it from print and memory. He chose “exclusive” to exclude because of how it so often divides and separates people from one another. In your own case, you might want to consider refraining from using the word “mine” for the same reason. First off, if there is anybody who knows that nothing is exclusively yours, it’s you. You know that everything in the material world is ultimately and constantly shared. Deep down inside you also understand that what defines you or anybody else is precisely what you have in common with everybody else. Indeed, if you can bring yourself to use only what words express your inner truth, rather than words that hide or betray it, what you would truly possess could only be called soul.

Marie Claire Horoscope for November 2015, #1073 | By Eric Francis

There will be times this month when you are bestowed with the authentic power to heal. Start with yourself. If you have the idea, “I no longer need this struggle” — no matter what it is — take the cue to set your intentions and focus your strength. The door to a better life, and letting go of the past, is wide open.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for November 2015, #1072 | By Eric Francis

After sending an email query to all the Scorpios in my database, I got an earful one weekend in late October, hearing what many have been through during the past two years of Saturn in your sign (that ended in mid-September). Saturn is usually experienced as lessons learned or struggled with. The purpose of Saturn is to convey the authority principle, inviting you to make your own decisions, rather than having the rules imposed on you from the outside. You’re now in a delicate position of having to step up to this challenge. Look around and you’ll see that it’s clearly more than most people can handle, hence the extreme over-reliance on government, family and corporations. Saturn in Sagittarius presents similar, but subtler, challenges. Do you believe what you believe because you were told to, or did you actually determine that it was true? A rare aspect (Saturn square Neptune) describes some of your most cherished opinions being challenged. This in turn calls for a total reassessment of your reality. It’s not enough to believe something because you always believed it, or because someone presented it as the only option. Where this really comes home is your self-worth. Your opinion of yourself must be balanced and realistic, and usually that means recognizing that much of what you were told simply was not true. When you get there, it’s a profound and stunning revelation.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015 #1071 | By Eric Francis

How much emphasis do you put on what you think people will think about you? That is, on your presumed opinion of what they will think or believe is true for you? Whether that’s one or 99 on a scale of 100, I cannot think of a worse way you can navigate through the world. I suggest you consider the notion of “what you think other people think” as having no chance for accuracy or relevance. Looked at one way, you’ve already given up your power by the time you even have that thought. Looked at another way, the implication is that you have to play to an audience of some kind rather than be yourself and trust the best will happen. It’s true that in the recent past (for example, in your the world of your grandparents) people could content themselves believing that appearances are everything (“clothes make the man,” to give one phrase). In our current version of the world, how you feel is more important than how you look. As such, I suggest you divorce your self-image from what you think people might think — if for no reason other than your perception is unlikely to be accurate.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015 #1070 | By Eric Francis

You may notice that people are responding to you more than usual — that is, hearing what you say, or at least recognizing that you said something; noticing you in public; perhaps responding to you more vocally in online environments. If you haven’t observed this happening, you might step up your presence a notch or two and be just slightly more open about how you’re feeling. This can include with yourself, in the form of not intentionally suppressing — or worse, rationalizing — your emotions away. You may feel especially vulnerable dropping these defenses. You may feel like you’re suddenly subject to the wrath of others. Something else is more likely: you will be in a much better position to negotiate. Indeed you may feel like you’ve discovered the secret ingredient that brings you to the same level as others. This whole thing about denial and rationalization as mental processes that render others superior to you deserves a good close look, such as if you were to write a novel about it. For now, you have a tool to work with, one that will help you maintain level ground with the people in your life.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015 #1069 | By Eric Francis

Your fantasies of relationship are one thing, and your relationships are another. What is the disconnect? Are your fantasies unrealistic, or are you not quite up to taking the steps to making them happen? Note that you don’t do this all at once. Nearly everything in life is one step at a time, till you reach that moment when you take the leap. Currently you’re taking steps. They may even feel like backward steps, but still they count as progress. One question I have for you is, what are you not saying? What are you not revealing? You may have the idea that if you were to say that one thing, you would blow up your whole life. This is important to remember, because you just might be right — though it’s unlikely. The one thing you might need to do in order to release yourself from the trap of your own imagination is to open up about it. If you do, be thorough; don’t hold back the details and most of all have fun. You might think: how is that possible? You will need to find that out for yourself. Be bold.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for October 2015 #1068 | By Eric Francis

Messages coming from your solar chart suggest you’re being called on some bold adventures. Yet you may be feeling some tension between your desire to create something beautiful and your fear of being judged or seen through, or the feeling that you’re faking something. The only way to get beyond that kind of paradox is to take a chance on yourself. At a certain point you will need to decide that who you are is beyond judgment and reproach, which is another way of saying that you’re not worried what people think about you or what you do. But you cannot have it both ways; you can’t transcend judgment and also respond to people as if they’re your parents. Therefore, if you’re going to create something, or feel something, you would need to give yourself enough space to feel and think and be, without stepping in as your own critic before you’re even finished. An example of this would be choosing not to do something because you know it won’t come out well. The way to take another path is to allow yourself to be guided by your own curiosity, without concerning yourself in advance with what you will find. Rather, take each discovery as it comes, and consider what it teaches you; consider its particular pleasure or invitation to something deeper. The art studio and the gallery are different things with different purposes.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015 #1067 | By Eric Francis

Saturn leaves your sign Thursday after what has, no doubt, been an interesting two years. The question I have is, in what ways have you come to terms with who you are? By that, I mean: what have you resolved in the way of games you were playing with yourself — such as the little tease, hide-and-seek and catch me if you can? Saturn’s message has been a rousing, bold, italic statement of: This is who you are; deal with it. The great part is that when you actually relate to yourself from a sincere place, you like who you are. And if you do, you know that others might as well, which speaks to what is perhaps the single deepest insecurity that Scorpios have to address. You still have to address diversity though. Even if people like you, there are many who you consider smarter, prettier, braver or more liberated. Now comes the moment of truth: does that recognition mean that you feel yourself as anything less? Or do others around you represent a statement of your potential? If this whole spiritual thing is really true, then all those other people are in fact expressions of you. Therefore, you have no need to be afraid of them. Or anything.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015 #1066 | By Eric Francis

You seem to be making up your mind about who you are. Remember this is not a final decision. Neither is making up your mind about who you are not. You are subject to change, as is everyone else, and the world around you. Once you remember that, any decisions you’re making will not seem like such a big deal. There is one possible exception, however, which is allowing others to define you. How would that happen? It would start with your own uncertainty, leading to little panic attacks. If you combine that with some idea that others need to see you as perfect, that’s the recipe for being defined by them. The only remedy for this is to assert yourself, as you are, as imperfect as you may (or may not) see yourself. Perfection is not a value. What is a value is that your learning process, your journey of self-development and self-creation, involves an active dynamic with the world around you. By this I mean that the many interactions you have with others are not predictable; and that you must be the mediator of those exchanges. You decide what things mean, and mean about you, which hints at one thing — the need to be practical above all else.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 #1065 | By Eric Francis

You have every reason to be confident, though you still may be hesitating. It’s true that there are certain decisions you have to make, and that there’s a possibility you’ll need to leave some people in the past. Yet it’s just as likely that your relationships will transform, if you take the first steps. What I suggest you avoid is not doing something because someone else seems reluctant. As bold as you are, you still need the support and encouragement of others sometimes, though it would be excellent if you took a step and took initiative, particularly social, on your own timing and your own terms. The story of your life the past few years is about your desire to be a bolder, more ambitious person. You’ve reached a time in your life when others need your leadership more than you need theirs. Most of that involves where you will allow your mind to go; your actual state of releasing your inhibitions rather than fostering them. They no longer protect you from jealous or envious people. You are much bigger than that.

Monthly Horoscope for Sept. 2015, #1064 | By Eric Francis

Saturn leaves your sign this month, after being with you from late 2012 through late 2014, and for three months this year. This is a good time for a review, which I can sum up in one question: have you discovered that there’s no point in being anything but real? It is, of course, easy to play things off, to pretend, to remain silent, to look the other way, to believe what’s convenient. Saturn has made that more difficult, and revealed this approach to existence as the folly that it is. In the process, you may have been squashed a few times, as if to squeeze out a few drops of truth. You may have run head-on into authority figures, and into your own resentment. When you finally did the emotional calculus, you’re likely to have discovered that this is the result of being something other than the master of your own affairs. If you got Saturn’s message, you came into your strength and committed to living with consciousness and awareness, mostly of who you are. This month Saturn enters Sagittarius, which is calling on you to be realistic rather than idealistic. This may seem to be a high price, though your Saturn journey continues into the phase of engaging with the world on the level of what you know is true, rather than what you wish was true. This will be easier and more productive, to be sure.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015 #1063 | By Eric Francis

If someone seems to be interfering with your success, or your forward momentum, look right at the situation. Others may have strong opinions, though that’s different from having power over you. It’s essential that you see this difference now, and really get the distinction. Otherwise you will invest way too much energy in the views of others, or what you perceive as their viewpoint, and ultimately prove yourself ‘right’. What I suggest is that you do what you want until someone tells you that you can’t. If you do, you might make the pleasant realization that nobody is going to stop you. This might even inform you that your concerns about what others think have no bearing in reality, and amount to little more than tying your own shoes together. You have a bold mission right now, and you don’t need collaborators. What you do need is to cooperate fully with yourself. You would benefit from applying some push energy to your goals and your surroundings. Once you do, you may wonder why you waited so long, and decide that asserting yourself with some mojo would be a fine way of life.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015 #1062 | By Eric Francis

I’m noticing two potentially competing qualities of your charts — bold independence and the craving for leadership, and some question about being unpopular or not liked by others. Any thought form of being socially awkward will compromise your sense of mission. The truth is, you don’t know what other people really think, and further, it hardly matters. Most of what you see around you are the projections of your own mind, and I suggest you take full responsibility for them. Reel them in and take the hooks and barbs off the ends of the lines. If you actually understand that the views of others do not matter, you will do wonders to get out of your own way. What does matter is the feeling that you bring to your life, to your activities and to your world. What matters is your ability to envision something greater or at least more interesting than currently exists. Express yourself boldly and notice how you feel, then notice who responds in a positive way. You don’t need fans; if anything, you would benefit from collaborators and a community of conscience. That begins with you.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015 #1061 | By Len Wallick

You are almost done. Whether you know it or not, the toil and even tears that have possibly accompanied you for years have almost run their course. In place of what you have endured, something enduring will remain. As you might already have noticed, your life’s trials and your responses to them have slowly but steadily been forming a structure that will contain much of what is yet to come for you. To be more content with what that container finally turns out to be, attend to it now. Look around you and note how the order and form of your life has changed, and think about how you want things to finally shape up. While this is probably not a good time to tear your life down and start over, it’s not too late to make more room where you need it and even trim a little excess so as to lighten your load.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, July 30, 2015 #1060 | By Eric Francis

By all rights this should be a time of achievement for you, and of being recognized for what you’re the best at. Yet there seems to be something holding you back; possibly something in a relationship, or more precisely, something you’re holding onto involving a partner or collaborator. On one level this is a complex situation, though ultimately the way to resolve it is to go beyond the past. But here’s where the plot thickens: What past, exactly, are you trying to go beyond? In other words, how far back does this go? Track your current scenario as it’s manifested other times before. Once you see that this is a pattern, you’re likely to un-snag yourself of that one lingering insecurity. That, in turn, will help you remember and claim some key achievements of that past. These will remind you that you’ve been through this territory before and come out on top of your game.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for August 2015, #1059 | By Eric Francis

This is the time to think about large goals, and to take steps toward accomplishing them. As you do this, remember that great achievements are always the condensed results of many small efforts and experiments. It’s also true that often the real direction of events or developments is not knowable until much later in a creative process. That said, it’s vital that you include all of the known major elements into your plans, concept or design scheme. For example, you might include adequate space to work, childcare and an assistant or other help. Only you will know the specifics, though I am suggesting you be careful about not leaving anything out, that you know you want to include. This will take some thought and some leadership on your part. Mostly you will need to demonstrate initiative — which is the art of initiating what you want to do. No matter who gives you permission, money, space, a promotion or an idea, you are the sole source of your own initiative. You are the energy source that sets the works in motion, and you sustain what you create.

Weekly Horoscope for Wednesday, July 15, 2015 #1058 | By Eric Francis

‘Spiritual’ is often a byword that describes subject matter that can be emotional, psychological, sexual, physical or on any other subject. In this case, ‘byword’ means language that avoids real subject matter. In our culture, so influenced as it is by New Age thinking, we have this idea that there’s a spiritual solution to everything, and that even the ancient Egyptians levitated the blocks in the pyramids with their third eye. But one might better speculate that really, it was engineering and hard work that got the job done. It’s true that you’re feeling influences that might be described as spiritual or religious or mystical. But I suggest you focus your mind, your intentions and most of all your resolve, and get the real work done. In my experience, we get the best results from spiritual agency when we’re willing to make an authentic effort. Part of that involves developing a sincere vision for your life, and having an authentic relationship with your own notion of commitment. You must know what you want and what you’re willing to do to make it happen. Undoubtedly, you know that involves actual change.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, July 9th, 2015 #1057 | By Eric Francis

Notice your own tendency to resist — whether that be progress, your own desires, your own feelings, or your own needs. Resistance is the result of thought forms that are specifically designed to mess with progress, desires, feelings and needs. In essence, resistance is denial. It’s the denial of yourself, and the denial of certain obvious facts about your existence and existence as a whole. So what’s this about? You may have come through a long period wherein you thought you addressed this. You may have decided you’re loose and chill and easygoing — though if you find yourself saying that, I suggest you question whether it’s true. To be easygoing you need to be easy with others and with yourself. If you put others in a position to push against you, where they must somehow struggle for what’s simply theirs, or for what you promised them, I suggest you pause and ask yourself why that has to be. By the way, it doesn’t.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, July 2nd, 2015 #1056 | By Eric Francis

You have an unusual opportunity to burn off the influence of your family like the rising Sun evaporates the morning fog. The more heat you feel, the more clarity you will gain. You might not think that attachment to relatives and the patterns of your biological tribe get in the way of much. Yet these affinities and loyalties have a way of costing you your independence. This might come as the fear of what someone might think, the need to conform to a standard you don’t believe in, or following emotional rules that don’t have defined concepts or any real purpose. Your solar chart describes a burning need to think, feel and define your life according to your own values and desires. There’s no room to compromise when it comes to the imposed morals and restrictions of others. Notably, these webs and entanglements are usually invisible, or manifest as ‘loyalty’. If your astrology has one message right now, it’s to be true to yourself.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for July 2015, #1055 | By Eric Francis

Saturn is back in your sign for a brief visit. It spent two years with you from late 2012 to late 2014, putting you under some pressure to get real and grow up. This was essential. Scorpio is a water sign, but it’s not the one that’s known for its ability to flow easily. Therefore, these phases where you’re confronted with necessity are vital to your growth and progress. Now Saturn is calling on you to clean up some longstanding issues involving partnership, particularly if some kind of contract is involved. Look for the nexus where sex meets money — for example, household partnerships; relationships with ex-partners where finances are still involved; work relationships where there’s an erotic component. You’re likely to be confronted by some element of the relationship that seems stuck or intractable. What you’re really meeting up with is the aspect of yourself that resists change and flow, and therefore progress. This might have the potential for a head-on collision, when in fact what would benefit you the most is to understand the nature of your own resistance. Is it necessary to push back so hard against potential movement? Is it necessary to hesitate as a way of life? You owe yourself better than struggling with the flow of creativity, pleasure and money through your life. You can now make some progress working this out.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, June 18th, 2015 #1054 | By Len Wallick

Don’t cave in to fear. However, just as an exercise, spend a little time (repeat: just a little) each day looking at how the worst of all possible consequences could possibly come to pass. Then, take just a little more time every day (repeat: just a little more) doing something to be better able to live with a worst-case scenario. Put a little money away every day. Stock up on a few necessities. Make do with a little less. If you can do that sort of thing consistently (and not go overboard into anxiety or compulsive behavior), your darkest, deepest worries will shrink in your perception — and rightfully so. On any given day the worst is almost certain not to happen. The cumulative effort of many days will grow. Do a little every day just in case; it will allow you more time each day to make (or remake) your life in the image of best possible outcomes.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, June 11th, 2015 #1053 | By Eric Francis

You have every opportunity to accomplish great things in the professional aspects of your life — that is, your chosen mission. Your chart describes recognition, but also tangible accomplishments that advance your cause and that of whoever you’re working with. But you seem to be hesitating, as if you’re not sure you’re doing the right thing. Some other option is nagging you. I would not be surprised if you feel creatively blocked in some way. I would suggest an ethic that has served many successful people well: whatever you’re doing, excel in that thing. Whatever you’re doing, learn as much as you can in the process, and relate it to everything else you’re doing. You need to access your creativity not just to do your work but also to do it in an unusually enterprising way — and to keep it interesting. Not every task or project is ‘exactly what you want to be doing for the rest of your life’, though I would propose that nothing really qualifies for that. Therefore, focus on quality in all things, in each moment.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, June 4, 2015 #1052 | By Eric Francis

Keep financial and contractual plans on hold for as long as possible. You’re not working with all the information you need, and there are still some vital developments yet to come. Until then, work within economic limits and do your best to follow your agreements to the letter and in spirit. Other factors in your chart describe this as a phase of high success and taking a step up in the world, though this is about more than looking good. Go far beyond image, charm or the appearance of trying. What you need are real achievements to your name, and to demonstrate a sense of mission that is driven by goals and results. If you don’t have something tangible to show for your work, looking good will look all the worse, and if you have them, it will look all the better. Saturn is about to return to your sign and emphasize the point that leadership is about what you get done. Saturn is also reminding you that self-leadership is the most important variety. You must be accountable to yourself before you can truly be accountable to others.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, May 28th, 2015 #1051 | By Eric Francis

You can make the most of any difficult or imperfect deal, and do very well with a good one. This is, however, largely a matter of strategy. Strategy begins with having goals, which is another way of saying knowing the outcome you want. This, you need to decide for yourself. Then there is the matter of figuring out where your partners and adversaries are coming from. You will get your best clues from what people say. I don’t just mean when they make a speech or write a memo but rather from the offhand remarks they make. I mean from the things they think nobody is listening to. You may even be able to glean certain facts from hearsay, though be cautious with all second- or third-hand information. There will be a distortion factor, and you may be amused to find out what simple, harmless thing lives at the seed of the rumor. That said, make sure you verify everything two or three times. Take no chances with the truth.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for June 2015 #1050 | By Eric Francis

Saturn spent more than two years in your sign, and now it’s about to make one last visit to Scorpio before taking up residence in Sagittarius till late 2017. This is a reminder that an emotional growth phase is not quite over. You’ll also figure out how little you need to do, in order to reach a state of true resolution. In the end, I think you’ll discover that this was all about being at peace with who you are. Look for that one last little place you’re holding out; that one condition you’re holding against your self-acceptance. I am going to take an educated guess and say this has something to do with sex. You seem to be of two opinions about something or someone, and the more you focus on it, the more opinions you seem to have. You’re someone who prefers to know exactly where you stand, though the current scenario is really making you wonder if that’s even possible. Maybe it’s not. Maybe your viewpoint keeps changing and that’s natural. Maybe you’re aware that there are many potentials. Maybe it’s just fine if you contradict yourself from day to day. I would ask, though: do you talk about your desires and experiences, or do you tend to keep them to yourself? Opening up will help — a lot. Secrets are about power. This is about pleasure.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, May 14th, 2015 #1049 | By Eric Francis

You must scrutinize contracts and agreements of all kinds, especially if they involve joint finances, investments or tax matters. This is not the time to take anything for granted, including your own commitment level, or whether anyone is being true to their word. There’s plenty of information that will emerge as Mercury makes its retrograde trek through the angle of your chart involved with shared resources. Yet this same area is involved with sex, and it would appear there is plenty that has been left unsaid or unquestioned. You would do well to ask yourself why. Denial is considered a necessity by many people, though it’s a luxury you cannot afford. Be real with yourself about who you want, what you want and how you feel; this way you can be real with others. The more time you interpose between those two steps, however, the further they are likely to drift apart. Make the connection by regularly seeking clarity and understanding, and remember that silence is indeed deafening.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, May 7th, 2015 #1048 | By Eric Francis

You may need to make some difficult decisions, but they only seem difficult because you’re hesitating. Every corner of your chart is shouting the same message: Get clear. Focus your mind. Take action. Focus your words. There’s nothing about you that’s inherently passive, though it’s possible for you to pretend. But we might ask why. Focus, commitment and action all imply vulnerability. You might describe that as feeling. Their opposite force in the universe is apathy, which is an interesting word: it means not feeling. If you want to make progress, dare yourself to feel and to take action as a result. There are far greater risks in your mind than there are in reality, and the truth is that the most serious risk you face is from hesitating or refusing to direct your energy when you know that is precisely what you need to do. Remember, when you take action, that will change you. If you want results, be willing to adapt, to grow, to change.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, April 30th, 2015 #1047 | By Eric Francis

This weekend’s Full Moon in your birth sign will stir up deep passions, needs and desires. True enough, that’s happening most of the time, though astrology like this arrives with depth and feeling and some mystery. So take that ride, with no expectation where it will lead you. One thing I suggest you focus on is your sense of mission. Not your career, not your ambitions, but rather your calling. Think of this in an integrated way. Your calling is not separate from who you are or what you do, but rather something that you express with every cell in your body. It’s also something that is expressed through your relationships and your contact with your environment. You may understand this in theory — that who you are is never separate from what you do — though now you get to experience that as visceral. This is the physical sensation that you are real. It may fill you up and seem to pass by, but really it’s not going anywhere. Remember the feeling and keep creating the conditions that lead you there.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for May 2015 #1046 | By Eric Francis

You certainly seem to be walking that fine line between fear and desire. Yet your fear, in some ways, seems the larger of the two, as you contemplate all that could potentially go wrong. That’s not really an issue, though if it is, ask yourself whether you’re using your power correctly. Consider carefully, and if the answer is yes, then move on. What really may be the thing making you nervous is the passion you’re feeling for someone, or that they feel for you. In that way, intense desire can come across as fear, though I would ask: fear of what? Aaah well, fear of the only thing that seems to get anyone’s attention, which is the potential for change. Change in this scenario means experiencing actual feelings, and meeting someone who has the potential to match or even exceed your energy. Remember the many ways you’ve invited this into your life. Remember that if someone seems to be just a bit difficult to understand, it would be helpful if you were to note the context in which you’re seeing and experiencing them. You may have a way of taking things very personally, which would be natural enough. Yet I suggest you pull back your vision and look with a wide perspective. See all the contexts that are involved. And then take every opportunity to share, and to feel, as fully as you can.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, April 16th, 2015 #1045 | By Eric Francis

Your chart is describing an interesting relationship scenario that may have a hint of polyamory. You seem to need some form of total focus in a relationship, while someone close to you has a lighter, breezier idea of what love is. You may think there’s no meeting point between their perspective and yours. I would remind you that you can only meet someone where they are. I would also remind you that ‘loving’ is loving a person for who they are and not who we would have them be. This is better news for you than you may think. You would surely benefit from loosening up your ideas about relating to others. You might be stunned to find that as you encounter different ideas, you discover that they turn you on. You might start with a conversation, not the ‘work it out’ but the ‘let’s have fun’ kind. Love is compersion: what turns you on turns me on.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, April 9, 2015 #1044 | By Eric Francis

You might notice that a relationship partner becomes more conversant with you about things that were previously taboo. I suggest you allow them the space to open up and speak, without asking. Leave your door open and make the environment safe by reminding them that you’re listening and that you care. I think you’ll hear something over the next few days, and if you don’t, gently bring up some topic you’ve been wondering about. You’re in a very good position to see things from the viewpoint of another person. One of the main shifts that a partner has been through is something similar, the ability to consider two seemingly competing possibilities at once. Yet those possibilities don’t really compete or negate one another. They actually support one another. The same is true for differing opinions the two of you may have. Honoring difference is essential, and making it work for you is a form of art.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, April 2, 2015 #1043 | By Eric Francis

You may fear you’ve taken the risk of letting others run your life, but not exactly. Actually, you and someone close to you have just about everything in common — except maybe a sense of familiarity with the territory. For you, unfamiliar is hot. Remind yourself that. It’s what you crave and what stokes your curiosity. For someone else, your encounter with the unfamiliar is a reminder of how good it can be. As you explore this territory, you will encounter places where your desires and seeming needs are grafted onto the past. Make sure you update your ideas about what you need, and especially about what you want. At this stage, desire is the name of your particular game. Needs, in truth, are few in number and you have many of them met. Desires are more complex; they can seem like a luxury; they may feel open to editing by others. Try wanting what you want, in the moment — especially when it’s right in front of you.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for April 2015 #1042 | By Eric Francis

Take care of your health, and make no assumptions or snap decisions. Remember that your body has truly amazing resilience. Know that anything that can possibly ail a person has been cured or resolved, and that a great many issues are the direct result of mental or emotional stress. Your chart is in fact bursting with wellbeing, abundant energy and the quest to do some bold and creative things. Yet you have so much energy that if you go out of balance you might feel like your life is taking its toll on your body rather than supporting your body. Therefore, aspire to balance in the midst of so much rapidly moving energy and so much activity in your environment. Part of balance is aligning yourself with an onslaught of creativity. Imagine that you’re an airplane wing and that if you position yourself correctly, you will experience a sudden lift and gain altitude. Of course, if you’re not quite aligned in that way, you may feel blown around, held down or paralyzed. So make a series of adjustments and even microadjustments until you feel yourself aligning with the energy both within you and around you. Notice your drive to live in a daring way. Give yourself permission to unravel old, nonproductive patterns and establish new ways of being that light up your whole mind.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, March 19, 2015 #1041 | By Eric Francis

It’s rare enough to hear the terms ‘sexual’ and ‘healing’ in the same sentence, except of course for that saucy and seductive song. Many, many people are beginning to crave healing their sexuality. Many are figuring out that the breaches of trust and abuse we’ve suffered are subtler and more insidious than anything that ever made it onto Oprah. It’s not so much what was done to you but rather what was taken from you. You can now get that aspect of yourself back, if you can so much as sense or feel what it is. Your process of self-reclamation will not happen overnight, though you’re very likely to find progress as you devote yourself to a journey few ever dare to undertake. I would remind you of one thing. Sex is not about reproduction. It’s about the pleasure of existence and of human contact. Existence and contact can lead to procreation, which above all else is proactive creation. Are you following me here?

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, March 12, 2015 #1040 | By Eric Francis

The question you seem to be confronting involves faith in yourself. You might think that means faith in something larger than yourself. I suggest you not split hairs, since in any event you would be the one allowing the process to happen. And as many mystics, great and small, have said, your faith, when expressed, will meet up with some larger kind of faith, though it’s you who must take the first step. When you do, you may encounter some thought form akin to, “But it’s all so dark,” or, “How am I possibly worthy?” or, “What am I going to do with all this karma?” or “My god, look at the state of the world!” Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes. Then you can look through those things as if they suddenly turn into transparent images that let through the light that is behind them. It is there and there’s plenty of it.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, March 5, 2015 #1039 | By Len Wallick

Your imagination can be your greatest strength only so long as you do not allow it to be your greatest weakness. Those of your astrological persuasion are among the select few who harbor the greatest potential to exercise control over imagination rather than have it exert control over you. It’s not a talent you are given wholly formed. Instead, it is a skill you must develop. It means going deep — both into yourself, and into the uniquely human capacity to first conceive of something from out of who-knows-where and then achieve it here. To avoid being betrayed by your own conceptions you must release attachment to the personal story you have cultivated. It means going back to the beginning, and even before that to a source your intuition knows is worthy of your wounded trust. — by Len Wallick

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015 #1038 | By Len Wallick

It seems as though you have always known when to hold ‘em, and when to fold ‘em. Evidently, showing your hand is where you get hung up. Yet you know good and well that everybody must periodically reveal what they have held close to the vest just to keep both personal and social relationships moving. So happens the current astrology has you well placed to address your most poignant secrets. You can further your own cause by simply seeking to lie down with somebody as often as possible. Even if it’s just to cuddle, getting horizontal with a good buddy will probably release untold wonders. — by Len Wallick

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for March 2015 #1037 | By Eric Francis

A Scorpio rising friend told me recently that men sniff her as she walks down the street, and that she finds this annoying. I just laughed and reminded her what a compliment this is — that she personally inspires people to be in spontaneous contact with their primal, visceral nature. That nature is overflowing in your charts right now, brimming and simmering and emanating all kinds of luscious, lusty steam. This influences everything. Whatever you do, whatever you create, you’re going to be doing it with more passion and devotion. It’s as if your very presence ignites the colors and sensations of the world within the minds of those who are near you. Whoever you touch will feel the heat of your soul penetrating their skin. I might say you can trust this, though really it’s just about the only thing you can trust. The dimension of you that is the most refined humanity and that which is the most elementally animal are fused into one right now. I suggest you perceive the world through all of your senses, and your instincts, and your intuition. This will, if you let it, allow you to try things you’ve never experienced; to take chances with people in ways you never have; to dare to touch the heart and soul of the art or artistry that is so essentially who you are.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 #1036 | By Eric Francis

For you, creativity is usually a matter of confidence. This includes not just the art or music that you may make but also the way you approach every aspect of life. This is one of the deep misunderstandings of existence. I recognize that some tasks seem so boring that there is no possible way to take an innovative approach, such as sorting out a thousand files, shoveling your driveway or entering figures into Quickbooks. But is that really so? The interesting approach to seemingly boring or repetitive tasks can lead to methods and solutions that save time and energy, or that get the job done better. Anyway, most of what you do is more exciting than those things. And I would suggest that this actually does come down to a matter of confidence, and of challenging yourself to remain alert, involved and inventive at all times.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015 #1035 | By Eric Francis

It will be easy to lead or follow a partner into some rich creative and erotic territory. You may notice that one of you has the capability of going into a state of mind or of feelings that the other does not have such ready access to — but which can be found through the miracle of partnering. This will also work in solo situations, as your inner male and inner female energies have rarely been so wide-open and full spectrum. Allow your imagination to go free. Think of these experiences as experiments, as art projects, as adventures. Let yourself be led out of your typical patterns of sexuality and relationships into something that is unfamiliar and feels daring. What you do will reach close to the core of who you are and influence every other aspect of your life.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 #1034 | By Eric Francis

Your astrology is guiding you in the direction of the exotic, the mystical, and toward a field of experience with a broad horizon. Indeed it’s more than guiding you; there seems to be an irresistible pull toward this wide and beautiful territory. It’s not merely conceptual — it’s physical, actual three-dimensional space as well as an idea. It might be easy to get lost in the fantasy rather than taking the seeming risk of the actual journey to new experience. If you take the journey, leave plenty of room for how it might be different from the idea. Think of the actual experience as an experiment with an unknown outcome. As long as you don’t predict the outcome, or attempt to script the encounter, you will have fun. That is, as long as you remember the key ingredient: take a chance.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for February, 2015 #1033 | By Eric Francis

One reason self-esteem is such a difficult issue to get a hold on is because of this other thing, called projection. Most people look to others for validity of who they are, for affirmation of their worth. Yet when others reflect that worth back to them, it doesn’t necessarily align with how they feel inside. The result can be a weird differential, a gap, a disconnect. Is this person lying? Are they making things up? Are they just passionate about everything, and I am coming along for the ride? I suggest you experiment with considering the appreciation that others feel for you as actually saying something about you. Imagine, for a moment, that it’s a source of information, of verification, and a kind of lesson in life. More than that, when someone is excited about you, you get the opportunity to explore yourself. True, you’re exploring in the context of another person; but when you do that, you’re really swimming within your own consciousness, and your own possibilities. Everything you experience becomes your own. I suggest you be generous about reflecting that back, as confidence, as happiness and as consciously offering your journey as something that others around you can get a taste of. One thing you may be aware of is that when people have a mutual experience, it changes both of them. Yes, indeed — that’s the idea.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015 #1032 | By Eric Francis

It’s obvious that your ideas about life go well beyond those of your family and very likely your closest friends. They are more concerned with keeping things tidy and organized than they are with discovering what is possible. Right now you are being drawn into acknowledging desires that would make many people around you nervous. When I say drawn into, I mean that it’s like you’ve been picked up by a current and are being carried into a place that you know you have in you all the time, but which recently seems to have stirred to life in an unusual way. What you’re feeling is the intensity that comes from inside you, needing no external stimulus. What is coming in from the outside is making things more interesting, adding some flavor and diversity. The creativity and passion are coming from you. Remember!

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 #1031 | By Eric Francis

Your sign is not known for its cool detachment, but it’s a resource you have available right now. This is not the removed distance of not caring; it’s an unusual kind of objectivity caused by being deeply concerned about an issue of justice and wanting the right thing to happen. You know that in order to do that you must remain fair-minded and see the situation in its entirety. You know that you must work with a balanced mind and present both yourself and your ideas that way. The more concerned you are, the more collected and relaxed you will want to be — so calm that it comes through your voice.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for January 2015, #1030 | By Eric Francis

Saturn has finally left your sign, which is offering you freedom and flexibility you have not felt in a long time. It’s as if a weight has been taken off of your shoulders. The thing about these kind of developments is that the effects tend to be short-lived. The way to maintain the feeling of lightness is to remember how much you had to do in order to get there — and keep doing whatever that was. If people need to put you under less pressure, that’s because you’ve stepped up to your known and agreed-to commitments consciously and willingly. If you’re actually responsible for yourself and your actions, you don’t need a boss or parental figure telling you what to do. These are old themes — as old as you are, and because they span the generations, actually far older. It may have taken your entire ancestral lineage to produce you, who has figured out that you are responsible for what you say, think, do and feel. You are responsible for what happens in your environment. But this only becomes a burden if you pretend it’s not true — then suddenly you’re under everyone’s thumb. To really be free, you don’t have to live up to the expectations of others. Rather, you must set high standards for yourself and exceed your own expectations on a regular basis.
