If you are a bit uncomfortable in your own skin, the feeling will probably pass. Meantime, you might want to make the most of whatever restlessness you feel. Indications are you have at least two options. Which you choose should depend on whether excitement or relaxation is more appropriate for you right now. Either way, you will probably need to take some unaccustomed form of action to relieve what appears for all the world to be an uncharacteristic but fortuitous itch. If you think a bit of excitement will best serve to get whatever it is that’s bugging you out of your system, it would probably be better to try a thrill that does not carry the risk of bodily harm. In other words, better to perform at an open mike than bungee jump off a bridge. Should relaxation seem like the best way to float your boat into more comfortable waters, look to do it in familiar surroundings. Better a candlelit bath or three in your own tub than a single trip to the spa.

Planet Waves Weekly Horoscope — Dec. 10, 2015, #1079 | By Len Wallick

Be here now. Especially if you perceive some things going on in your immediate environment that remind you of trying times about two years ago. That was then. Now is the time to finally begin a process of integrating what is not yet resolved. Odds are you have done most of the hard work already. So, first, assume that is the case. Then, make it your next objective not to go back and be what you no longer are. To achieve that end, give yourself all the credit you are due. Look back at more than what you have been through. Consider all you have come through. Are you now more aware? Of course you are! Have you been responsible for an expanded consciousness? You bet you have! And who more than you now knows better than ever how to do the right thing? So now, do the right thing for yourself. Let yourself off the hook and get on the stick instead.

Planet Waves Weekly Horoscope — Dec. 3, 2015, #1078 | By Len Wallick

Being misunderstood is not a pleasant thing to go through. After a certain point, however, you have to be philosophical about what other people think so as not to lose yourself. You may be at that point now, especially if you are feeling a need to please others in order to be truly content and fulfilled. Yes, we all have a lot in common. In addition, your ideals and sense of fairness do you credit. Even so, not everybody has the same priorities as you. Therefore, if you cannot please everybody, don’t think yourself a failure. Rather, think of yourself as having delineated where differences between you and others lie and what your own values are. If you can do simply that you will have more clearly defined yourself. With that definition you can finally begin to work and create to your own satisfaction to the same degree you have considered the satisfaction of others.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope — December 2015, #1077 | By Eric Francis

Where do your relationships stand today, as contrasted with Jan. 1? I would recommend a thorough review. There may be many events that seem like water under the bridge. That’s how life is organized these days; everything is presumed to be ephemeral. That may be true, but what happened recently is still vital to you, and what I suggest you look for is both the story arc of the past 12 months, and also a timeline of key events: mainly connections made, transitions and separations. Remember who from your past seemed to resurface, and what happened when they did. This may have also related to past values, attitudes and viewpoints that reminded you of their existence. To put the question in the most direct way, I would ask what you feel like you resolved this year. What are you now confident that you have settled emotionally, or put to rest? What new values and attitudes have you cultivated that will lead you in new directions? The past still remains a somewhat complex subject for you, and what you developed in the past 12 months may be more appropriately described as strategies and approaches to dealing with your own personal history. One of those may be your process in the present: it would help to take a resolve-as-you-go approach to life, and not leave things to resurface from the ever-lengthening past.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, #1076 | By Len Wallick

What works for you may not work for others. What convinces you might not be convincing to others. What is true for you could very well be false for others. Keep these and other possibilities of disparity in mind but don’t allow yourself to despair over them, for that itself would be unreasonable. Even if you seem to be alone in knowing it, allow yourself to be comforted by the fact that everybody on Earth has far more in common than otherwise. We all have to breathe. Nobody can do without water. Food is a necessity. Such needs unite all beings. Yet there is also comfort to be found in diversity. What works for you today may not work tomorrow, and somebody else’s way of doing things could someday be the adaptation you ultimately make to get your most fundamental needs met. It is therefore in your own best interest to see differences as what can keep us all going, even as what we have in common can also serve to keep us together.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, #1075 | By Len Wallick

It’s true that familiarity can sometimes provoke contempt. If you have ever been on a long road trip accompanied only by the music you loved the most when you departed, it’s likely that you were willing to hear nearly anything else upon arrival at your destination. Therefore, if for no other reason than to stimulate yourself and even inspire others, see what you can do to change your own tune. Start with the word ‘recreation’. For most people it means relaxing and having fun. For you it can mean that and even more if you will consider practicing the word in its hyphenated form: re-creation. Just look at what happens when somebody you know simply changes their hairstyle for the fun of it. It’s contagious. People get excited about, ask questions of, make suggestions to and just generally refresh their relationships with anybody familiar who shows up looking a little different. Imagine the response if you came up with a way to have a little more fun by trimming, altering or adding a little color to what you do and how you do it.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, #1074 | By Len Wallick

We each have an array of simple habits we constantly practice without thinking. And why not? Why not put the same leg of your pants on first, day after day? But is it really a question of why? If you change the phrase ‘why not’ to ‘how not’, your life could suddenly become a lot more interesting where it is now most boring. Indeed, you could eventually become more interesting to others if you follow where putting the other leg on first ultimately takes you. To begin with, it will be a very private experience, which requires you to be more aware of what used to be an unconscious moment. Gradually, however, the practice of thinking about the prosaically habitual and breaking its patterns will probably tell you something about yourself that you didn’t know. Where the body goes, the mind must follow.

Marie Claire Horoscope for November 2015, #1073 | By Eric Francis

After many twists and turns, your life is starting to make sense again. But if you look back, you’ll see that everything that’s happened over the past several months makes sense in a way that it did not seem to at the time. This is truly a new start for you — take advantage of this; choose a bold, new challenge and rise to the occasion.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for November 2015, #1072 | By Eric Francis

Venus returns to your sign in a week or so. This happens about once a year, though it’s still a beautiful thing, coming right when you need it. It was only recently that Saturn (another planet that represents you) moved out of Scorpio, which signals a loosening up of your resources. If you have not noticed this, you can use the Venus principle to help get things moving. In a word, that’s about attraction. But attraction doesn’t mean standing around looking cute, seeing who offers you what. Libra and Venus in Libra are self-assertive. The image in the planets is about having the confidence to present yourself to the world in an open and accepting way. There’s a serious confidence issue in our society right now, crippling many people. Our obsession with spectating is a direct expression of lacking the courage to dare. You now get some direct relief from any such shortage. You still must present yourself to the world, start the conversation and practice the art of mingling with the human race. It’s just that you’re likely to be feeling better about yourself, as if you’ve somehow found yourself after having lost track of who you are. Thing is, your current experience of finding is likely to bring a real discovery. Keep your sense of wonder right where you can feel it.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015 #1071 | By Eric Francis

Perhaps the most important theme of your solar year is the relationship between the you nobody else knows, and the you that you present to the world. You are a master at controlling your image. You can morph yourself into absolutely any form or mirage you want. That’s useful but it has a drawback, which is when you believe your own illusion of who you are. You can no longer afford that way of being. You’re now more transparent than you used to be; but more to the point, you need to integrate your inner and outer realities for your own sanity, integrity and sense of balance. Therefore, stay close to what you’re feeling. If you think you have to conceal your true sentiments for some reason, then make sure you’re entirely honest with yourself. All of this is part of a deepening process you’ve been going through for some time. It’s also part of how you will tap the energy to stand up to the world and all its demands and opportunities. This whole business of dividing yourself up, living in compartments and having different versions of yourself for different purposes is costing you a lot of time and energy.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015 #1070 | By Eric Francis

If you can set aside the idea that others are being critical of you, you will see that you’re the one being critical of yourself. However, this may turn up in some form that you don’t recognize, such as fear. You’ll help yourself greatly by observing your anxiety level (including in your dreams and upon awakening) and pausing long enough to figure out what’s really going on. You may have to move through a few layers of consciousness to do that; one issue is likely to mask another. From the look of your charts, you appear to be in a situation where you don’t see an easy way to resolve things, nor do you see an easy way out. You may be wondering if you’re actually trapped somehow. If you’re in a trap, it’s psychological, which would include emotional. There are some old patterns involved. The most important things you can do are to observe yourself carefully and look for those patterns, which may go back a very long way. Remember that you are no longer a child and don’t need to respond as one. You have your adult powers, including the ability to make choices. Remind yourself of that, and get some options in front of you, and you will feel better.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015 #1069 | By Eric Francis

Mercury remains retrograde in your sign for another week, and an interesting week it will be. Your astrology is just bubbling with intriguing possibilities. It’s as if you’re getting fed with energy and ideas from some parallel universe that only you can access. That’s good, because it’s giving you one heck of an originality streak. Pump it up. Don’t worry if you kick up some chaos along the way, or if the dishes pile up. The important thing is to have fun and take notes. Let every experience be a learning experience, no matter how good. Pretend you’re a reporter for Rolling Stone and it’s 1966 and you’re tripping at a crazy party in California and it’s so good you have to scribble down some details, since you know you’ll have to tell this story. The more you take that approach the more it will feed you. Observe and participate; describe and pass on the good vibes.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for October 2015 #1068 | By Eric Francis

One theme of the past couple of years that is worth considering is the way in which you’ve had to dismantle your ideas about relationships. Most people cling to their relational concepts with little or no thought; many circumstances have conspired to make that nearly impossible for you. The absence of predictability has compelled you to stay in the moment, seemingly as a matter of survival. We are all under enormous pressure to conform to rules of relating that few people have actually thought through and that most people violate. What’s vital is that you honor your actual tendencies in relationships. Not what you think you should do, or what others told you that you should do, but what you actually want and how you actually feel. If you’re paying attention you will see that this is an evolving set of values, and in truth every relationship is the result of an energy pattern you make with another person. Which brings us to a deeper question — your relationship to yourself. It’s now vital that you remember that how you treat yourself matters. It sets the tone for the rest of your life. There are facets of this understanding that have come with difficult lessons, ones that it’s not necessary to repeat, if you would remember them. They point to something much better — the joy of being your own person.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015 #1067 | By Eric Francis

I am hearing from Libras all over the world today, and I know it’s been an intense few years. You may be looking for some relief from nonstop changes that have taken you far from any known comfort zone. Help is on the way. I do suggest you take advantage of Mercury retrograde in your sign and devote yourself to a time of reflection on the many changes that have come through your life. We live in times when anything and everything moves too fast, where change is pushed for its own sake and where there seems to be no actual safe space. For a number of reasons you’ve been subject to more turbulence than most others, though it’s pushing you to seek higher ground, to be solid and centered and to really, truly know where you stand with yourself. That has not been easy. One gift of the now-developing aspects is that they will guide you to ask better questions — to make deeper inquiries, based on perspectives you have not noticed yet. Take any chance at all to slow down and tune in. Take any opportunity to focus on your own wellness. Honor your own reality and others will rise to the occasion.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015 #1066 | By Eric Francis

You may be feeling as if you have to make some major change in your life, though I think this mostly involves the message you deliver to the world. That message is more than words, though those include the words that describe your idea of who you are. And it is this I suggest you consider carefully. There’s a strong element of considering who you are not that’s brewing in your astrology now. That’s good as far as it goes — though ultimately you cannot describe yourself by process of elimination, such as, “I’m not all those other things! Now you know who I am.” What you’re seeking is some affirmative statement of your reality. When you succeed at making one or more such affirmative statements, you’re likely to get a strong response of some kind. Notice how you, in turn, respond to that; note how you interpret it; and what you choose to do next. There’s enormous tension in our culture between wanting desperately to be seen, and terror of being seen. This includes physical beauty but I think it describes one’s emotional or intellectual being even more intensely. I suggest you study that seeming conflict in yourself and see what you discover.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 #1065 | By Eric Francis

This is going to be an interesting week for you socially. Try to get out of the house or the office, every day if you can. Notice the difference between your day worlds and your night worlds. They will be as different as, well, night and day. The essence of your current astrology is a revelation of how you perceive yourself as a social being, or a public being — as someone perceived by others. This is usually awkward territory for people; they tend to carry distortions about how people see them, what makes them attractive, what others will notice, and so on. I am not suggesting you should worry about these things. To the contrary, what seems to be happening is that you are slipping into a more confident space, a sense of ease about who you are, what image you project and how people see you. The key to this is confidence. You can start with caring less, and being yourself more. I suggest you push this, that you take more social risks, and that you immediately process and work through any residual discomfort you may feel and get right back to being yourself. Yes, it takes practice.

Monthly Horoscope for Sept. 2015, #1064 | By Eric Francis

You must check your logic carefully, at every opportunity. In order to do this, you’ll have to slow down and observe your own thought process. If you do this, you might discover places you have not taken certain facts into account, or ways you’ve jumped to conclusions without taking steps you can retrace or explain to someone else. This will be especially meaningful if you find yourself exerting effort that’s not resulting in progress. Step away from the idea that things must be difficult for the sake of paying dues, or because ‘that’s the way things are’. To a real degree you get to choose the difficulty level of your life, which differs from other factors such as success and achievement. If you apply reasoning and intelligence, you will come up with another analysis. To this end, you need to be mindful of the logical steps you take toward any conclusion. Notice the way you collect observations of your environment to prove or disprove any theory you may have. While many people can get away with making assumptions or taking guesses most of the time, you need to do better. You’re accountable for what you know and for what you don’t know. You are responsible for how you assemble the facts into a theory or a conclusion. Take each step consciously, and take notes.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015 #1063 | By Eric Francis

You’re headed for a deeply meaningful personal encounter of some kind, though it’s different than you may be expecting. In case you’re inclined to worry that some facet of your public image is at stake, you can relax; what’s unfolding is much closer to the core of your self-perception and your inner life than anything that others would even care much about. But if you’re concerned what others might think, it would help if you made notes on your worst fears and best expectations, because those will provide you with a mind-map. Expectations and anxiety are more closely related than is obvious. We tend to think of hope, or expectation, as a good thing and anxiety as a bad thing. But they are part of the same concept, which is trying to manipulate the future in an uncreative way. That said, fear is a valuable teacher right now, because it describes a certain contour of your mind in which you have a tendency to get trapped. You may expect this to be a permanent feature of your inner landscape, though I assure you that’s not true. You really can work with this situation and work it out beautifully.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015 #1062 | By Eric Francis

You’re entering a phase of introspection more profound than you’re accustomed to. The Libra psyche can be prone to a struggle with interior space. It’s as if you often lack sufficient room to move around within your own mind, or you encounter ideas that push the limits of your psychic capacity. Where there is a space issue, it’s necessary to be efficient and, to a real degree, clever. Let that start with drawing your awareness inward. Imagine you’re in a psychology experiment where you’re blindfolded and exploring an unfamiliar space. Describe that space to yourself, and map it out. Notice where you bump into things, where you feel like you have some room to move, and where you feel cramped and restricted. Pay attention to any frustration you feel with not being able to see what you’re doing. I would remind you that the cool, detached input of eyesight can offer anything but vision; often it’s capable only of delivering false images and undependable feedback. Breathe into the darkness and let other, subtler senses emerge.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015 #1061 | By Len Wallick

It’s likely that you have paid your dues in full over the past two or three years. Therefore, do not think of yourself as owing any more to others than is absolutely necessary to keep your relationships in reciprocal balance. Let go of obligations you have already met, no matter how fulfilling it was for you to meet them. Instead, take some time to go back and pick up where you left off with yourself. Take stock of all you have passed up in order to be of selfless service, and consider how and when it might be appropriate to be a little more selfish to serve your own (possibly arrested) development. Think of what you can be rather than what you can do. Release the past and reach into the future. Who knows, if you reach far enough, you might actually be able to touch and grasp another hand previously unseen, which has long been reaching for you.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, July 30, 2015 #1060 | By Eric Francis

You often walk a fine line between being a someone who is well-respected and well-regarded in your community, and not giving a toss what people think. I would propose that the two are aspects of the same personal quality that you possess. Your independence is one of your most endearing qualities, and thanks to Venus retrograde you are getting an opportunity to explore this. I would propose that it’s pretense in any form that leads to people feeling uncomfortable or out of place in any social situation, or in a relationship. It’s pretense that eats at confidence, and that makes almost any conversation seem unwieldy. It’s the feeling of judging yourself that leads to the sensation of others judging you. In the coming weeks, you will have a series of glorious opportunities to burst through this whole realm of existence. In the end, what you’ll learn is how to get out of your own way and let your light shine. When in doubt, be bold — or said another way, a little bolder than you think you can.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for August 2015, #1059 | By Eric Francis

You don’t need to fit yourself into a small space — especially for anyone else’s benefit. Yet that would be one of the few reasons you might try to do it, and this is worth careful thought. Obsession over what other people might think has long been a problem, though never so much as today, when nearly everything we do has the potential to be published or publicized. Yet the sanitized, purified public relations version of oneself is a form of trying to fit into an impossibly small space. If you’re feeling cramped, or like you cannot be yourself, try revealing more of who you are. I know this might sound like a contradiction, however it’s essential that you make room for yourself in the world, in your home, in your work, in your relationships and just about anyplace else you can think of. You cannot expect people to move over and make room for you voluntarily. So far as I can tell, that’s not how this plane of reality works. You must take your space, which is another way of saying, stretch into your own existence. This will necessarily involve being different and demonstrating your differences; that’s the whole point. This takes some time and it takes practice, though the result is an experience of getting to live your life your way. It’s not always easy but it’s worth the effort.

Weekly Horoscope for Wednesday, July 15, 2015 #1058 | By Eric Francis

For a Libra you sure are in an ambitious, even conquering, mood. It’s about time, too. Focus your goals and connect them to the sense of resolve that you’re feeling. Notice the elements of why you feel the way you do. One of them is confidence in yourself. You’ve come to this observation before — when you have that, you can do anything. You might ask yourself where it goes when you don’t have it; I would say that some clouds from the past block the light of the Sun. Now you can see clearly and feel the heat, which is really your own energy radiating from inside you. Even still, be wary of doubt. Notice when you have the vaguest, slightest hint of doubt in yourself. Try to identify whose voice it is. Much that we think we do to ourselves is really the residual toxicity of what was done to us in the distant past. You have the choice to reject those influences, though you would need to replace them with the clear sensation of who you are, not in the past but right now.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, July 9th, 2015 #1057 | By Eric Francis

You may be wondering if the deck has been stacked against you, or if you’re embarking on a fantastic winning streak. As for the first, I don’t think so. What you’re being confronted by is the need to tidy up certain emotional and financial matters so that you’re free to live your life your way. Unresolved business from the past will surely deter your progress, but you’re the one who has the power to get that right. As for the winning streak you suspect may be coming, this is entirely a matter of how you position yourself. You must collaborate with others; indeed, with everyone in your environment, and build a winning team. You’re the one with the strategy, however; don’t count on anyone else for that. You’re the one who must set the goal and you’re the one who must make the plan for how to get there, although others will offer some brilliant ideas that you must fit into the plan. Note that certain people who feel erratic or a bit odd may in fact be the ones who will come through the most reliably, even if just this once.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, July 2nd, 2015 #1056 | By Eric Francis

Your star is rising, and I suggest you take the ride. By this, I mean throw your life open to the possibilities, needing no plan or assurance where you will end up. One thing that would help is to make your presence known. While you’re doing that, look and listen to the world around you — really study what people say, what they do, and how they present themselves. Notice in particular how they feel about their value in the world, and what prevents them from doing the things they want to do. Listen to their desires, their frustrations and their concepts for what to do. Then notice how different a place you’re coming from. This tells you more than you think — because it describes your relatively strong position in life. Part of your strength comes from confidence in what you have to offer and your understanding of the value you have to others. This will encourage you to make the most of every opportunity, and to make opportunities for yourself. Be strong, be generous; though don’t be proud.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for July 2015, #1055 | By Eric Francis

Venus, the planet associated with your sign, stations retrograde later this month. This describes you in a position of greater visibility and contact with the public. Yet it appears to be pushing the question of how much exposure you want; how well known you want to be. It might seem like putting your work out in public is really like baring your soul. Are you ready to face any scrutiny that you may encounter on the way? Yet, if you peel back the question, you may discover something a bit startling. It seems like there’s one thing in particular you’re afraid people will find out about you. You might be cloaking this with a diversity of concerns unrelated to the core issue. That, in turn, could be creating interference with getting your work done, which no doubt involves some contact with the wider community. If you get to the root of the matter, it will be possible to actually do something about it. So I would ask, what is this one fact about yourself that you positively dread people finding out? It could be some element of your history, some doubt, some association you have. You might be trying to hide something that a parent or grandparent was paranoid about. Figure out what this is, give it a name, and then try something daring: tell the world.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, June 18th, 2015 #1054 | By Len Wallick

Did you know you have been showing the way? Whether you know it or not, you have been showing at least a few people a way to be for quite a while now. Whether you want it or not, at least some other people have been looking up to you to measure their own progress. Whether you like it or not, something you did about two years ago keeps returning you to where your aspirations (or lack of same) converge with what others feel they need to become. You probably will not be able to hide away and avoid being observed. So, why not simply accept that you are leading by example and attempt to grow into the role? There are worse things to be than a role model. There are worse things to become than more worthy of respect. It’s not like you will be putting yourself on a pedestal. It’s a simple case of putting yourself in your proper place.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, June 11th, 2015 #1053 | By Eric Francis

Your star quality is shining right now, and I suggest you step out from behind the curtain. Get out where people can see you, hear you and feel you. Keep the emphasis on feeling. Notice how many people spend so much of their lives in a bubble; notice how you’ve done the same thing. I understand that your astrology may seem to pose a paradox — that of being visible when you may not want to be seen. Or liking attention and being made uncomfortable by it at the same time. If your usual tendency is to step back, stay quiet or remain off to the side, this would be the time to try a different approach. Remember that you have no special obligations or responsibilities for being noticed. Acknowledging the attraction others may feel for you is not giving them permission to do anything, nor are you committing to be anything. You remain free; you remain the one making choices in your own life. It’s just that now, you’re very likely to have better options than usual.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, June 4, 2015 #1052 | By Eric Francis

You are now in the perfect position to develop your professional income. I never quite know what this means for those who work for salaries, though it seems like these days most people have more than one source of income. This could apply to any of them, but especially the one that’s variable — such as based on your creative output or how much of something you can sell or some factor involving the people you know. This variable is now the thing that you can increase, largely due to your reputation. Therefore, be bold and confident about approaching your friends and people in your social networks. Anyone you know is a potential prospect. I don’t mean to imply that your friends and their friends are something to exploit; what I am saying is that commerce is a community commodity and that communication is a commemoration of how we are all here to support one another. What you are doing is a thing of service and therefore, telling people about it is a wholesome thing. Stay on course even if someone whines.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, May 28th, 2015 #1051 | By Eric Francis

It may seem like your emotional life is delivering one thing after the next, leaving you little space for rest or sanctuary. This is especially salient in that you really do want a bit of comfort and security in your life, especially where your affections and emotions are concerned. We could develop a theory as to the nature of these intrusions and disruptions — why they exist and what they are here to teach you. It would be speculative to say there is a reason for everything. It would not be speculative to say that you are learning about yourself and the nature of your interactions through relating to others. You start to get on top of the game, as it were, when you begin to make choices about who you want to relate to; when you know why you want someone in your life and why you don’t want someone else in your life. You go beyond that when you recognize and accept that most of the time you actually have the power and the privilege to choose.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for June 2015 #1050 | By Eric Francis

Pay attention to how you think others perceive you. It may not be true, but your ideas will tell a story. Then you can check whether that story teaches you anything useful. The reality as I see it is that you have tremendous respect and admiration coming from your peers. You can turn that into support or creative opportunity. Yet secretly, you may have your doubts. You may be wondering whether you’re really worthy of anyone’s high opinion of you, or their recognition of your talent. The doubts you may be feeling very likely belong to someone else. I know they seem real, but consider the possibility that they are part of someone else’s legacy. Let’s take this a step further. Imagine for a moment the most frightening, negative things that you heard about religion as a child: the rules, the threats, the twisted logic. Did that in any way set limits on your bliss? Consider what your parents were told, and how that may have filtered through to you in language that was not obviously dressed in the garb of religion. Once you see these things for what they are, it will be easier to acknowledge them and make choices that are not covertly misinformed by them. The thing to hunt for are messages that somehow establish the validity of a negative self-image. Be bold about finding them — and laughing at them.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, May 14th, 2015 #1049 | By Eric Francis

It’s time to sort out your long-range plans. The first step to doing that might be to set all prior plans aside for a little while, at least for the sake of this process. Then consider the direction your life is really heading, as of now. From here, you can ponder what you want, where you want to go, and what you envision for yourself, as entirely apart from any past vision you may have had for yourself. I don’t think you’ll be able to sort this out overnight; it’s a lifelong process, though you’ll learn a lot over the next six weeks if you pay attention and notice which of your desires has some real energy collecting around it. In relationship news, you’re being called on to be impeccably fair. That means giving others the benefit of the doubt, until more information is available. It’s true that facts will be coming out for a while, so reserve judgment till you really have a clue what’s going on.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, May 7th, 2015 #1048 | By Eric Francis

You deserve to be recognized for what you do. Please never, ever doubt that. I know how easy it is to forget or deny your own accomplishments. It does not help that many celebrities and media figures who pull in seven figures are famous for absolutely nothing. This waters down the whole concept of recognition. You must evaluate yourself on another scale. Begin by giving yourself credit for what you’ve accomplished. In particular, focus on the ways in which you’ve taken leadership in your own life. Look back a few years and note the changes that you’ve made, particularly the ones you thought were impossible. This proves that you’re made of tougher stuff than you may think. Nobody should confuse your friendly exterior and elegant style with any kind of frailty — especially yourself. Your combination of style and grit will get you places, though for now the thing to do is count your victories.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, April 30th, 2015 #1047 | By Eric Francis

You seem to be uncertain about the flow of revenue associated with your profession. You might be asking whether what you have will last; that’s a matter of planning. It’s also about considering your alternatives carefully and not being caught in any one way of doing things. You can consider the entirely opposite approach. You can consider two approaches at once (a kind of A/B test). Mostly, as you are about to discover, your success is about being seen for who you are, which means embodying who you are with confidence. Remember that the only vocation you will find satisfying is one in which you are actively supporting, nourishing and nurturing others. By active, I mean that you get reasonably immediate results and your own efforts are not too far removed from the benefits that others receive. Others around you are willing to cooperate with that. In fact they seem to have, at least for the moment, found that space where they’re open to the concept of the greatest good for all concerned. Get it while it’s hot.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for May 2015 #1046 | By Eric Francis

You now have the blessing of being seen, and even better, being seen for who you are. While it’s true that your focus is often on making sure that others are taken care of, you’re not always recognized for that. If you are who you are, it will be obvious who you are. Under this astrology, you have extra freedom to reach for goals that may have seemed distant or impossible, and actually get a result. Just make sure that you don’t talk yourself out of that possibility. Surround yourself with supportive people, and gather a few new ones. Make sure you take care of yourself and that you’re taken care of by others; your state of mind is nearly all that matters now. Therefore, if you have a crisis of faith, I suggest you speak with those who are in a position to help. You might even decide that it’s better to leave certain concerns to others whom you trust, so that you can keep your mind free to take care of other things. Under the current astrology the best thing you can do is be visible, show your face in public and stay on the radar of those you respect or want to work with. All of that, and remember your goals. Know what you want and don’t forget.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, April 16th, 2015 #1045 | By Eric Francis

This is a positively crazy time to be a Libra, because all the usual things you need and crave seem to be unavailable. Let’s see; first there is stability. That seems like a distant memory. Your solar chart describes you as pushed to one extreme after the next. Your definition of security seems to be changing to something like, ‘When you’re in an earthquake zone, it’s best to live in a tent’. This is so contrary to the way you say you want to live that you could imagine that there’s some cosmic purpose. I can propose such a theme. How do you maintain your integrity in times of unpredictability and erratic change, under constant stress? The answer can be said in one word: devotion. This is where all roads, all paths and all purposes lead for you. Where there is true devotion there can be no compromises, but one thing is sure: you must be flexible.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, April 9, 2015 #1044 | By Eric Francis

The recent lunar eclipse may have shaken your confidence, or so it seemed for a moment. Really, you’ve been going through a kind of initiation. You are figuring out that you are the most solid ground on which you stand. You are your own home. No matter who you share your life with, you must be at the center of your existence if that sharing is to be meaningful. Some might say this makes you less vulnerable, by which I mean able to be open to the emotional presence of others in a deep way. Being centered and able to relate from your core is what makes vulnerability and therefore intimacy possible. Discovering this is part of the long journey you’ve been on since Pluto changed signs in 2008. It may have felt like your previously solid ground was crumbling beneath your feet. Yet what was really falling apart was an outdated idea of relationships that no longer worked.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, April 2, 2015 #1043 | By Eric Francis

A total eclipse of the Moon in your birth sign is taking you below the surface ideas you have about yourself. The thing is, you may have already thought you were aware of what was going on down there, and I don’t doubt you’ve made some helpful observations about yourself. Yet there is always deeper you can go, and you may surprise yourself as you make contact with what I can only describe as your real agenda. One thing that’s clear is that your attachment to the past is starting to fall away like so many autumn leaves, and something new is sprouting like so many springtime buds. You have also placed a high value on independence in your relationships. You’ve been willing to confront the factor of instability that’s often necessary on the way to making some space for yourself, though the real message of this weekend’s eclipse is that you are the most stable and dependable presence in your own life. Therefore, count on yourself.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for April 2015 #1042 | By Eric Francis

It is impossible to lose yourself in a relationship, though it’s questionable whether you can find yourself in one either. But you can remember, and you can forget, and your relationships can prompt you to do either. It turns out there are elements of your life that you’re eager to leave behind, which would be another way of saying forget. But that forgetting will have the sensation of clearing something out of the way, as if you’re brushing back a veil, or silencing some persistent background hum that you didn’t realize was clouding your hearing. At that point, you may discover that you’re in an entirely different situation than you thought you were. You may wonder how it is that you missed how solid and stable your life has become, which is something you can prove to yourself if you do so little as tell yourself the story of the past five years in a paragraph or two. The sensation looks like the discovery that you are where you belong, as long as you don’t have any distractions that would skew your perception otherwise. That, and you are in the company of your peers — or rather, one peer in particular. Work with this feeling. Work with the sensation of change as the experience of clarification.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, March 19, 2015 #1041 | By Eric Francis

Keep a grip on your anxiety. Fear can be useful, though only to a point. If you’re concerned about your health, look closely enough at whatever issues you need to look at to have full confidence that you are healthy and strong. You may need to make some adjustments to your lifestyle so that you add the piece about moving in the right direction. Whatever direction that happens to be, you are in an excellent position to initiate positive, valuable, worthwhile changes. We all know how hard it is to get decisions to stick. Part of that is because real choices often require a sequence of other decisions in order to help them take root and keep their grip. As you make those choices, envision yourself drawing nourishment from the Earth, like a tree that is clasping some rocks and sinking its roots into the soil below. Yes, you have some real decisions to make — and yes, you will stick to them just fine. Or rather, they will stick to you.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, March 12, 2015 #1040 | By Eric Francis

Just when you decided that there is no telling what you’re going to do next, someone else has demonstrated what it’s like to live with that reality. That’s actually a pretty good way to live, as long as everyone agrees there is that certain factor of unpredictability in the universe. So get that onto the table, while everyone agrees it’s true and has evidence proving that it’s true. This will allow you to get over any lingering belief that a relationship is a choreographed thing, or that there is a script and a musical score to go with it. You are in perhaps the best position of your entire life so far to engage with reality as it is now, and live your moment, as you are experiencing life now. Remind yourself that the universe is a dynamic place with every force acting on and responding to every other force. Nothing stays the same for long, and amen to that.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, March 5, 2015 #1039 | By Len Wallick

While you tend to show your love very well, it’s possible you could do a better job inspiring others to love you. Making yourself lovable means more than just buying drinks for your circle. Being lovable includes being seen by everybody as the person without whom the circle would not be complete. Providing more for others to love does not entail gaining weight; it requires not throwing your weight around. You cannot trade money for affection, but you can endear yourself to others by increasing your capacity to produce other forms of support without expense to yourself. You cannot conjure up a spell to inspire affection, but you can receive appreciation in return for nourishing aspirations and creating conditions wherever you go that will cultivate creative ways of attaining those aspirations. — by Len Wallick

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015 #1038 | By Len Wallick

Oh yeah, you got it going on. The balance you so often seek is now almost certainly seeking you. Let it find you. More specifically, something you boldly initiated during the first half of last year now appears to require only one last innovation on your part to result in a triumph. This could be something that, as recently as December, looked as though it would never come to fruition. In order to git ‘er done consider eschewing both perspiration and the “tried and true” in favor of inspiration and innovation. Doing something you have never done before is probably just what the doctor ordered to make and make well. — by Len Wallick

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for March 2015 #1037 | By Eric Francis

You are being gently tugged to keep your focus on yourself. I say gently, though there’s a persistence to this that has been present for a while; it’s coming into focus now in a new way. As there are currently fireworks exploding in your house of relationships, that may be a challenge, though it’s one that humans have faced persistently through the modern era. I would call this the ‘all or nothing’ issue. It involves an orientation on relating to others that results in a loss of inner focus. This creates the dual self — the illusion of the ‘relationship self’ and the ‘actual self’, which I believe is the cause of most misery and instability in relationships. I think the path out of this is to cultivate the mindfulness to be yourself at all times, attentive to your whole reality. If you find that your relationships dominate your existence to the point where you, or some central experience of yourself, is negated (rather than, say, enhanced), then I suggest you come back to yourself. You can do this before you have to break up with anyone or sign your life away. You can do this all the time, every minute, in the course of which you honor your reality and the reality that you share with someone else. It may feel awkward at first but it gets easier with practice.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 #1036 | By Eric Francis

If you’re feeling stressed out, or like you’ve been doing one thing too long, I suggest you relax a bit. Take a breath. Take a look at the world around you. Remind yourself that time is always in motion, and that the world is in a constant state of flux. Remind yourself to get out of your own way. Be honest about what you want, and notice how you feel when you do that. Pay attention to any possible superstition you may feel about desire being a hindrance to fulfillment. Notice your level of confidence. And then, watch what unfolds. You may not have direct control over the next few developments of your life, though for now you can afford to say that you don’t need to. Your life is heading in the direction of healing, of connection and of service. Yet that’s just the beginning. Those qualities lay the foundation for many other possibilities. First things first.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015 #1035 | By Eric Francis

You may be feeling a strong pull in your own direction, which is to say, away from relationships. Yet there is something in one particular connection that keeps you coming back, despite the tension you may be feeling there; despite the tendency of this relationship to shake you up. The direction to go is neither toward nor away — it’s in a third direction, which is a space of healing. Healing is likely to feel submissive and pleasurable, as if you’re releasing yourself to a process of some kind. This may feel like being carried, or transported. You may have the sensation of journeying deep into yourself to retrieve something that you may have lost contact with at some point earlier in your life. When you find it, you will discover a familiar blend of the sensual and the mystical, which is your true home.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 #1034 | By Eric Francis

You may be wondering when all the relentless energy is going to relent. It may not, ever — which means the solution is to make choices about your environment that provide you with the kind of space you need for specific tasks. Right now that would appear to be space for what you might think of as ‘creative tasks’ — those involving breaking new ground, exploring, or playing. This may involve clearing a table or your desk and focusing the necessary supplies. However, more significant is mental space, which includes your use of time. Right now in the onrush of digital life, time is organized like walking on a high wire from Point A to Point B — with the seeming risk of falling off. The kind of time you need is organized as a three-dimensional space where you can walk around freely, with no fear of falling, and with minimal scheduling involved. That’s where your best ideas are.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for February, 2015 #1033 | By Eric Francis

So much of some things, so little of some others. The odd bit is how fast the proportions change, never seeming to find equilibrium. You are often able to get closer to a stable place by being willing to give up certain experiences, even ones you love the most, by reminding yourself it’s only temporary. You’re not the only one going through this; the entire society around you, and your community on every level, is on this wild ride of nothing ever stabilizing. You, at least, are experiencing a conscious overflow in many areas of your life. Right now you have some incredible wealth in a dimension where many people feel the most frustration — meaning. In fact you have so much meaning that you may take it for granted. You may think it’s just weird when people relate to you the ways they feel that they exist without purpose. Rather than wonder, go directly to relating to others on the level where every detail of life has inherent value. What you may recognize as particularly insane is that the greatest shortages seem to occur relating to love and work — potentially the two most fulfilling areas of life there are. Love often relates back to sex, and work relates back to creativity. That is the direction to guide things, closer to the original impulse that grows the whole garden.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015 #1032 | By Eric Francis

You simply must experiment. Whether this is with art, with ideas or with sex (or better still, all three), a rare combination of factors is taking you into your own personal avant garden. You can go beyond anything ordinary, which seems to be what the planets are conspiring to get you to do. The feeling of doing this is taking a risk. I don’t mean dancing on the edge of the roof. I mean the sensation of going into unknown, strange or unpredictable territory. Allow yourself into that state of mind where you don’t know what will happen next. Then once you’re there, consciously allow anything to happen. You can afford to have some misgivings that you consider and disregard. You are in a contained space; there are natural limits in place. Get to that spot where you know you’re pushing them.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 #1031 | By Eric Francis

You have been walking a delicate balance, which may feel something like being on the bomb squad. But the explosives you may feel you’re handling have lost their power for years. What they have is a kind of nostalgia, which is what you are dismantling. It’s more like needing space going through someone’s old collection of memorabilia, which is taking up your old basement, and coming across a deactivated souvenir grenade from World War II. It’s worth handling consciously, getting rid of and getting on with your work. But then your discovery gets you thinking about why someone, anyone, would save such a horrid thing. Who would want that? What is the story behind it? As you start to figure it out, you begin having surprisingly deep revelations about your own life and the direction you want to go.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for January 2015, #1030 | By Eric Francis

Events this month will contribute to the sensation that you’re at a tipping point. You have figured out that an approach to existence has reached the end of its useful life. The theme is independence from the structures of the past, including your concepts of family and relationship. I would include every structure you’ve taken for granted, including your notion of what makes you safe. The truth is that nothing but your thoughts contributes to your sense of safety; if your environment is involved, that is associated with the value that you place on certain factors. Anyway, the confidence you’re feeling is real, and it’s closely associated with making the choice not to hold yourself accountable for the actions of others. If you’re feeling better about yourself, that’s about making up your mind that you alone are the assessor of your worth. I suggest that you start to move forward the moment you realize you’re ready to do so. It looks like you’re suddenly taking an idea or creative vision more seriously. From another point of view, you may be observing that something you’ve long dreamed of is now actually possible. It always was, though how you look at such potentials makes all the difference. Devote yourself fully to this thing, whatever it may be, and check in on how much progress you’ve made by mid-June. You’ll be impressed.
