Planet Waves Daily Oracle for Monday, Sept. 16, 2019

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Gemini weekly for December 14, 2007.

oracle

What do you see when you look at the world these days? What do you see when you feel the people in your life? Does it all feel out of reach, or can you see and feel yourself in the scene? Whatever you may perceive as outside yourself, be sure that you can be that if you want; indeed, right now, anything you notice you have the potential to embody immediately. While this would seem to open the way to all kinds of frightening possibilities, what you are observing is most likely to make you nervous because the potential is so incredibly rich. In order to embody the possibilities that you’re looking at, you need to see, feel and experience yourself in a completely different way: as a unified, integrated being. Simply put, to grow and evolve like you know you can, stop playing divide and conquer against yourself.

My readings offer a place of refuge, an opportunity to suspend self-judgment, and my careful reading of the charts. I offer you reasons to be motivated, and strategies for handling the strange complexity of society at this time. To this work, I bring all of what I have learned as a journalist, editor, astrologer, spiritual student and man of the world; and I offer it to you for an affordable price. Read more here.

Monday Morning Horoscope #194 for Sept. 16, 2019

Aries

Aries (March 20-April 19) — You seem to be blessed at present with unusually clear insights into where you’re headed and what you want. If you wish, you can pursue a fairly single-minded course and probably span a large distance in a short period of time. That said, it will be useful to double-check your route for any potential snags, especially where ethics are concerned. There may be more than one way to go about your business, and without capitulating to unreasonable demands, it helps to be considerate of other people’s situation and feelings. If in doubt, look for a scenario in which everyone wins. This approach will benefit you in the longer term. Get your full Aries reading by Eric here.

Taurus

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — Over the last few weeks you seem to have had something of a wild ride emotionally. This may still be happening, though it would appear the more intense turbulence has settled down. What these experiences mean for you, only you can determine. At least in part, however, one thing that appears to be emerging for you is a new understanding of your influence within relationships of all kinds. You may have previously underestimated the weight of your word or your desires. You might have felt invisible or as if you were shouting into a void. Now you know you are in fact clearly seen, heard, trusted and loved. That is as it should be; just keep it in mind. Get your full Taurus reading by Eric here.

Gemini

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — Recently you’ve been undergoing a process of inward change, though this hasn’t necessarily been recognizable as such. At times you’ve perhaps felt discomfort, as if suddenly discovering you’re wearing ill-fitting clothes or sitting on a hard surface. You might also have noticed differences in your environment; yet these are likely to have emanated from you, as opposed to happening of their own accord. What this effectively boils down to is that you’re having the emotional equivalent of a growth spurt, and your horizons are expanding accordingly. At some point, you will probably find you’ve adapted. In the meantime, be patient with yourself. Get your full Gemini reading by Eric here.

Cancer

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — It’s generally a highly useful rule of thumb in close relationships to be explicit about how you’re feeling. True, not all partners or friends welcome this approach. There seems to be an ongoing expectation instead to bury our real sensations in order to keep things smooth, or that significant others should be able to second-guess our mood if only we drop enough hints. Part of this is often based in the fear that we’ll be seen as selfish if we ask directly for what we want. Yet all that happens if you push aside something important to you is that resentment starts to build. A far healthier approach is to drop any pretense and just be honest about who you are. Get your full Cancer reading by Eric here.

Leo

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — If you need it, cut yourself some slack. So much these days seems to be a mad rush, though at least some of the time the rushing takes place in a maze, and then it’s ridiculously easy to wind up facing three walls of privet hedge. If you get confused, I suggest you stop, check your bearings, and remind yourself what you’re aiming to do. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, or for a friend’s perspective, if you want either. You may feel like you’re expected to carry various loads for loved ones or colleagues, though you’ll probably be pleasantly surprised if you ask them. In any case, it’s important that you practice fairness to yourself, and be open to reaching out. Get your full Leo reading by Eric here.

The Virgo Astrology Studio reading is now available for instant access. Here is a short sample. Eric discusses the Virgo New Moon, Neptune in your opposite sign, Chiron in Aries and more. We’ve also included Self and Society, Eric’s special reading on Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn. The Astrology Studio recordings make an ideal gift for loved ones.

Virgo

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — Though the world might not yet observe the difference, within yourself you’ve come a long way in the past month. Your next step is to make those gains manifest in the external world, and build on them. This will first require you to cement your understanding of what has taken place: what you’ve discovered about yourself, and what it all means to you. Then you need to ensure you don’t forget it, and lapse back into old habits. One important facet of this is you now recognize more easily when other people’s changes of mood and behavior are about them, rather than about you. As a result, you have a far clearer sense of your autonomy, and can use it accordingly. Get your full Virgo reading by Eric here.

Libra

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — You may well feel as if you’ve lately taken part in a mammoth wrestling match with your own psyche, and are only now emerging. While the experience perhaps felt draining, you have learned a good deal and are on much more solid turf. It appears you’ve succeeded in breaking through specific habits of mind that were getting thoroughly in your way. This should make forward motion a lot easier, along with your new gravitas and added maturity. If you’ve previously lacked the chutzpah to follow your own path regardless of permission or approval, that will likely be a lot less difficult. There are only so many damns one can give, after all. Get your full Libra reading by Eric here.

Scorpio

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — Certain matters that may currently appear confusing or lacking all the puzzle pieces might appear in greater clarity if you shift your perspective somewhat. Recently, you’ve begun to see how you can do that, and approach the issue from directions you might not previously have recognized. Yet you’ve had quite a lot of practice lately in understanding how things are sometimes far from what they seem, and in holding space for unusual possibilities. During the next few weeks, you’re likely to make significant progress in opening up your perspective. Keeping track of your thoughts will help. Notice when you change your mind, even in a small way. Get your full Scorpio reading by Eric here.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Subjectivity is often decried as a less valid method of looking at issues than objectivity; though in reality the former is all we have, and the latter may be impossible for humans to accomplish completely. Your reasoning about the world around you is almost certainly biased in some way. There’s nothing wrong with this; all you need to do is acknowledge said bias and make allowances for possibly being mistaken. When it comes to your own life, conversely, your primary knowledge of yourself is usually the best indicator, as are your instincts. Others might offer good and useful advice; whether or not you follow it is your decision alone. Get your full Sagittarius reading by Eric here.

Capricorn

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — Your ruler Saturn has begun the final leg of its journey to connecting with Pluto, which will happen in January. For you this is likely to be the culmination of many, many months during which you’ve developed a better knowledge of yourself than some people ever reach. True, you can still surprise yourself; yet all the same, you’ve gained an invaluable maturity, especially in terms of understanding your potential. You now need to ensure you retain your awareness and continue to act in accordance with it. The time has long since passed when you could afford to trip yourself up. Now you have far more important calls on your energy. Get your full Capricorn reading by Eric here.

Aquarius

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — Pay attention to your instincts, which are currently finely tuned to an unusual degree. Check in with them often, and especially when you encounter any scenario that may be unfamiliar or potentially challenging. You are likely to be one of the earliest to know when something is amiss, or when an element of your surroundings has changed. This is even more the case when it comes to your wellbeing, particularly emotional. Notice any time you feel more liberated and happy, and likewise whenever you feel drained or under the weather. Use the patterns you see to direct your energy and resources in a way that’s optimally healthy for you. Get your full Aquarius reading by Eric here.

Pisces

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — One immensely useful tool for making relationships easier is tackling our propensity for projection. This is especially true if we are in the habit of idealizing partners: assuming that they possess specific qualities, or putting them on a pedestal. It is surely more helpful (and more accurate) to treat one another as rational, imperfect, equal human beings. The difficulty generally consists of letting go of agendas, owning up to the truth of your feelings, and recognizing that others have free choice whether to respond to you. Yet with sufficient effort and determination, it’s possible both to make rapid progress and to understand the substantial worth of this approach. Get your full Pisces reading by Eric here.

Jupiter-Neptune, and Saturn Stations Direct

Congratulations on making it through last week. I’m hearing from a number of people that it was an especially challenging build-up to the Full Moon, which peaked early on Saturday — as in, not a typical Pisces Full Moon at all. Personally, I found it to be marked by a variety of external stresses, internal emotional detours, and a number of interpersonal situations not working out as anticipated at all.

Planet Waves

One of the largest and longest-lived storms recorded in our solar system, first observed on Saturn in 2010; pictured here in false color. The blue stripe is the rings seen edge-on; that black band is their shadow. Photo by the Cassini Imaging Team, SSI, JPL, ESA, NASA.

We can likely chalk a lot of that up to the primary feature of this week’s major astrology: Jupiter in Sagittarius in a long square to Neptune in Pisces (which was directly involved in this Full Moon).

On Saturday, Sept. 21, Jupiter and Neptune will make their exact square for the third and final time in this series; the other exact contacts were on Jan. 13 and June 16. Between now and Saturday, Saturn stations direct in mid-Capricorn — more on that in a moment. You might check your calendar or journal to see whether you can trace a progressing or recurring theme between the first two exact contacts of Jupiter-Neptune and now.

The Day of Mastery: Birthdays and Planet News

If Your Birthday is Sept. 15
The Day of Mastery | Order 2019-20 Virgo Astrology Studio | All Other Signs

As you were growing up, it’s highly likely your caregivers or family had some expectations on who you were to become, and how you should live your life. As an adult, you have a free choice on how far you will stick to that narrative, though depending on the pressure this isn’t always easy. This year, you have an opportunity to strike out on your individual path more decisively, regardless of anyone else’s preconceived ideas or wishes. Follow your desires, and don’t worry about going off-script.

If your Sun, Moon or rising sign is Virgo, you are heading into a most unusual solar year, set up to do the thing Virgo is designed for: integrate the elements of your being, find your direction and purpose, and act on it. Eric lays it all out in your 2019-2020 Virgo Astrology Studio, now available for instant access.

Written in the Planets

Mercury and Venus are now in the early degrees of Libra, beginning to renew emphasis on slow-moving planets early in the cardinal signs. (Though King Neptune’s fluidity is still diffusing everyone’s impressions.) Keep your antennae tuned for certain echoes of events and themes from a few months ago, and of familial material.

For example, today watch for the ways your emotional life and approach to relationships might be at odds with multi-generational family patterns. What roles have these issues played in your sense of identity? The Moon moving through early Aries in the wee hours of the morning may heighten less conscious feelings along these themes. Dreams, if you can remember them, could offer a layer of insight.

On a related note, Juno in Virgo, Ceres in Sagittarius and the centaur Nessus in Pisces are all in strong contact with each other. You may be noticing tension between specific relationship needs (including material around jealousy), your sense of nourishing others and what makes your own spirit feel fed, and old emotional patterns whose time is up (possibly around sexual or energetic boundaries). If you were to hold yourself to the highest standards of intellectual and psychic hygiene, what might that look like? Even if it seems like there are two or more ways you could go, chances are you can identify the option that leaves you feeling clear. If someone is pushing your buttons, that’s a good clue that your own reactions and expectations around the energy you’ve been giving them could use a closer look.

Planet Waves Daily Oracle for Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Scorpio weekly for May 18, 2007.

oracle

A partner, close friend or loved one holds the key to an issue with which you’ve been struggling. For them, it’s easy; for you, it’s a challenge, but what you’re here to learn is how to accept the factor of ease and flow. This is about the movement of ideas, and that requires fluidity rather than fixity; it calls for asserting yourself rather than being passive. Given all you’ve been through the past few weeks, you may be feeling a little cautious about pushing too hard — and I don’t propose you do so. Rather, what you’re about to learn is the correct proportion of push energy, flow energy and receive energy is involved in a highly productive creative situation. You are a student right now, and you’re learning through direct experience.

The Day of the Perceptive Critic: Birthdays and Planet News

If Your Birthday is Sept. 14
The Day of the Perceptive Critic | Order 2019-20 Virgo Astrology Studio | All Other Signs

Your birthday this year plays host to the Pisces Full Moon amid some eventful astrology. You may well find yourself both unusually busy, and in an especially good position to make things happen. It’s likely you’ll easily figure out how to turn an idea into a concrete reality or a practical application, or set a long-term project in motion. The only thing to be wary of is if you have a tendency to self-doubt. If so, keep an eye on your state of mind, and check in regularly with people you trust.

Written in the Planets

With the Pisces Full Moon peaking early this morning (12:33 am EDT), hopefully you’ll start noticing some relief if this week has felt a little crispy around the edges yet soggy in the middle. Planets are still opposing Neptune, but the Moon is easing off from its role as emotional intensifier/polarizer. You’ll still want to beware of mind-altering substances this weekend, particularly if you need to drive, do anything physical, or handle hot or sharp items. Easy does it today. There is still a ‘things may not be as they appear’ undercurrent to many interactions and circumstances.

Mercury and Venus are traveling together in a conjunction for a few weeks. They begin the day in Virgo, square the centaur planet Pholus in Sagittarius. Then Mercury enters Libra at 3:14 am EDT, and Venus follows suit at 9:43 am EDT. One thing this could represent is a revelation — either something is revealed to you, or you reveal something (to yourself or to another).

Whatever it is could have effects well into the future, or could point you in a new direction. Mercury and Venus entering Libra may describe an increasing sense of balance or spaciousness in thought processes, and in the emotions that influence them. You can let that buoy you, though stay aware that with Jupiter and Neptune still moving toward their exact square, the reference points for what counts as ‘realistic’ remain nebulous and shifting.

Planet Waves Daily Oracle for Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Aquarius weekly for March 2, 2007.

The focus is on your birth sign right now, including a cool or rather hot alignment of planets in Aquarius, among them a conjunction of Mars and Chiron — two warrior planets — that will be developing the next couple of weeks. More immediately, the Sun is making a conjunction to your ruling planet Uranus in Pisces. This is about progress, potentially developing so quickly that it feels like it may run out of control. Actually, it’s more likely to follow well-established architecture, though you may be surprised at the scale on which things develop, and the intensity of the process: the building is always bigger than the drawing, is it not? Keep your focus and please be open to your ideas about your own life.

The Day of Passionate Care Order 2019-20 Virgo Astrology Studio | All Other Signs

Particularly if you move with confidence, those around you are likely to sit up and pay attention. You seem to be invested with substantial charm, and may need to be prepared for a surge of interest in you and your projects. If you’re working on something specific and introduce it to the public view, there’s a chance it could take off unexpectedly. Regardless of what happens, practice honesty, clarity and setting boundaries. These could almost certainly be put to some use.

Written in the Planets

Tonight into the wee hours tomorrow is the Pisces Full Moon. It’s a special one, since it’s conjunct Neptune. Possibly you’ve been feeling a subtly building form of pressure — not as hot as an Aries Full Moon, not as piercing as a Scorpio Full Moon. More like (to borrow a recent description by Eric) your bladder filling with 50 gallons of water. It’s hard to move, it feels like it will never release, and somehow you didn’t see it coming until you realized you were full.

Adding to the sense of pressure building is that the Moon has been gradually opposing all the other objects in Virgo yesterday and today. So we’ve been getting various preliminary flavors of this Full Moon, all infused by the rather confusing, soggy notes of Neptune. It may be worth tracking your various moods, urges, doubts and inspirations from the last couple days and through the weekend; you might find yourself figuring out something you did not even realize you were puzzling over.

Mars in Virgo is opposite Neptune currently (exact tomorrow). This aspect serves as a caution — for instance, about overestimating how much you can drink or indulge in drugs. Best to avoid them; stay home if you’re not willing to abstain. Beware of misjudging what you can handle physically and mentally, particularly if you’re feeling stressed out. No matter how much you want things to go a certain way, don’t let that desire cloud your ability to see what people are really doing. Misunderstandings could feel especially frustrating right now, but staying aware of your ego-based reactions could help in understanding yourself and navigating the conflict.
