Today’s Oracle takes us to the Scorpio monthly for May 1, 1999

There is an interesting dance occurring in the sky between the two warrior planets — Mars (the original Scorpio planet) and Chiron (associated with healing and higher consciousness). To me it looks like this: A whole new set of instincts are now with you. Your old fears and frustrations, especially those you were given by others during childhood, are in retreat, in a sense, going back to where they came from. And a new form of intelligence has come into being: a gift for focussing your awareness where it really matters, and for taking into account the facts of which you are aware. And there is something else, and the only words I have for it are *collective soul*.

You have seen what others are capable of; now you must own up to what you are capable of. In a word, that translates to anything. The more boldly you can embrace your negative potential, the greater strength you will feed into your positive potential. If you want to be the most passionate [heterosexual] lover, embrace your queer side. If you want to be the perfect spouse or partner, embrace the potential you have to be boring, faithless and inconsiderate. In sum, admit that the light you carry casts a shadow. Try standing with the light to your back to see how long that shadow is. Then turn around, and face the Sun, which is blazing in you as well.

Don’t worry if others see you as so more than you think you are or are thanking you for things you had no part in bestowing on them. And really don’t worry if you perceive yourself as self-centered or not perfectly faithful to the cause of the Earth and her people; such are the dark imaginings of your fears. In truth the opinion certain key people hold of you is closer to reality than your own perspective but your perspective is changing. Recent developments have emphasized the need for communication particularly on the most sensitive subjects. Remember.

The more you untangle your feelings, the more feelings you have to untangle. I would caution that there are certain emotional conditions that you cannot resolve through mental maneuvers. Others will lend themselves well to a concrete understanding, though you may not be able to tell which in advance. I suggest you go gently, and remember: you are not your feelings. If you’re having feelings that are bigger than you, you’re in the middle of a distortion. If that is the case the first thing to do is remember that your feelings are part of you — not the other way around. You are bigger than whatever you may be going through; you are bigger than your family situation; and for that matter, you’re bigger than any goal or creative idea that you have.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Libra weekly for Jan. 18, 2008

Sometimes there are those moments in life when everything seems absolutely perfect, and you know it’s about to change. In those times, it’s helpful to recognize that the change is part of the perfection; and also that what we think of as perfection always has its flaws. That said, take in the moment, and ask yourself what process, long ago set in motion, is beginning to take root in your life. One trick to enjoying our brief journey on the planet, if I may be so bold as to propose such a thing, is to exist gently within an exquisite moment without clinging to it. That’s the option you have now. Anyway, the approaching changes will come on gradually, though certain events that set the process in motion may seem abrupt. Never forget the real goal, which is you cultivating a sense of safety on the planet, and one that is not based on how effective you are at barricading yourself in. Imagine living someplace where you don’t need to lock the doors.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Cancer weekly for July 2, 1999

In the never-ending process of civilizing, that is, of our culture becoming an advanced civilization (we’re not there yet), we must face shadows from the past. They can be racism, gender bias, hatred between the rich and the poor, and other old, feudal hatreds. In the process of becoming conscious, individual people, we must face the shadows from our own past and those of the people around us. And in this process, we have many choices for how to react to negativity we encounter. The question you face now and this year involves the philosophy of your healing process. How much power are going to allow fear and negativity to have? How great, really, is the power of love?
