Today’s Oracle takes us to the Taurus weekly for June 6, 2008

You are holding the solution to a financial problem in your hands. All you need to do is change your thinking. For a Taurus, it may not be your ideas that you cling to, but rather the whole experience of clinging itself, which is ridiculous. You know you are facing some significant questions about your worth and your livelihood, though we might question how those questions are answered. In a few words, resolution comes when we adopt a different viewpoint and then adapt our choices, activities and priorities in such a way that aligns with it. If you are missing something, it’s something boldly obvious. And I would add one other point — you may want to see the whole plan or the story of your life unfolded from beginning to end, and feel that nothing else will satisfy you right now. I suggest you be content with turning the pages of the book of life one at a time.

This is a beautiful time for a crisis of faith. While you’re in there, consider what, exactly, you feel moved to have faith in. We usually associate faith with God. Yet we do so with no tangible concept of what God is, which gives us a foggy concept of what faith is about. Your current situation is more personal, or needs to be. You’re not being called upon to have faith in something outside yourself, but it’s not strictly about you, either. What you are looking for is an intersection where your purpose connects to a larger purpose; where faith in yourself is akin to faith in a creative force that is at once contained within you and greater than you.

Just when you begin to get back in the flow of things, you may find something comes along making you doubt and question your beliefs all over again. This is no doubt a confrontation of all your old ideas and attachments to being able to being in control of your life. Indeed it may feel like you are being asked to dive off a cliff into raging rapids below. But I suggest you be gentle, honest and resolve your own fears that something is not possible. Be steady and realistic as you find your faith in your most noble aspirations. It may mean you have to re-write a few rules but if you can go with the flow, you are only re-routing the river to ease the flow of abundance. Find your courage this week as well as your deepest integrity. You are about to receive recognition for your selfless devotion to a dream of healing for your community. Remember you are a healer and it is in your giving you receive.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Virgo monthly for Nov. 23, 2012

If you are hesitating, make sure that it’s not to avoid provoking the insecurities of someone else. There are many reasons to pause, reflect and to use your power judiciously, though one of them is not acting out a childhood fear that someone more powerful than you will be scared by your potential. I have a suggestion. Try on the world from two points of view. In the first, imagine that everyone around you is threatened by your existence. Make no exceptions — imagine that every response or reaction is the result of a threat that someone else feels, and it’s all about you. In the second, imagine that nobody is threatened, that everyone embraces you, and that anyone’s apparent response or reaction to you is all about who they are and has nothing to do with you. Practice this for a little while and the difference will start to become stark. I suggest you develop sensitivity to when you’re trying to compensate for what you think are someone else’s potential reactions to you. Notice when you cut yourself off and therefore don’t give yourself a chance to get anywhere near full expression. Notice when this whole dynamic is influencing your decisions. There is another way to be — though it calls for a mix of self-awareness and bravery. If at any time you feel yourself compromised, add one or better yet both of these ingredients, and see how this shifts things. Note, there is an efficient way to access both in one gesture: curiosity.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Pisces monthly for Aug. 24, 2012

Who exactly is in your life, why are they there and what do you exchange with them? These have become significant questions the past few years that Saturn has been in Libra. You’ve had little choice other than to look at them closely, and do the growth work necessary to get some actual answers. You may have been through a long phase of paring down who you think of as a friend. You may have decided at some point that it would make a lot of sense to consider carefully who you engage with sexually, because so much happens in those encounters. Now as Saturn gets ready to ingress Scorpio, you’re about to begin a new phase of your life — and your relationship to yourself. I suggest you take this month as a review phase, and write a summary of your important relationships and what you’ve learned from them. This review could go back to mid-2009, when Saturn first ingressed Libra, or you could go back to 2007, when Saturn entered your relationship sign Virgo. I trust you’ve figured out that you have a responsibility to yourself that you must be vigilant about all the time. If you don’t rate that need as a priority higher than your responsibility to others, you will be of little help to yourself or anyone else. It is high time that you stopped allowing your tendency to share to be used against you, and interrupt the flow of situations where your loss is someone else’s gain. Existing on mutual terms is eminently possible, if you focus on that goal.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Capricorn weekly for Feb. 17, 2012

The job of any leader is to get people working together. Humans are motivated by making money and going to war, so you might say that the job of any humane leader is to find motivations that are neither destructive nor based on greed. That’s another way of saying honoring life and what we do with it for its inherent value, which you have a gift for noticing and expressing at the moment. State the obvious both when writing and speaking. Get feedback and make sure people are onto what you’re talking about. It seems inevitable that you’ll be involved in some unusual depth or amount of written communication, and I suggest you begin any project by defining a clear strategy. The kind of writing you’re doing now is not about being inspired, though that would help. This is writing that has to work, like a sheepdog or plumber has to work. I’m not suggesting that you not use elegance or beauty, but rather that you set goals for your projects, so that you give yourself guidance and you have a way to measure whether your efforts are getting results.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Sagittarius weekly for July 25, 2008

The Sun in Leo has done a good bit to lift your spirits, but when you realize how worthwhile your efforts have been that will do a lot more. I know you’ve had your doubts about whether you’ve been approaching a complex situation the right way; it has demanded a measure of exactitude and over-focus that you reserve only for your highest priorities. Does this really count as such? Have you invested your efforts wisely? Has this particular effort been worth this much time and resources? I think you’ll know soon enough. I would remind you that even given the validation that seems all-but-inevitable, your current idea is really just one layer in a much larger sequence of events. You are building something, and it would seem you have every intention of that something having enduring value. Remember this every day.

What is the role of technology in your relationships? Has Facebook replaced the sight of someone’s face, or texting the sound of someone’s voice? Digital devices are rapidly infiltrating the realm of human interaction, threatening to take over entirely. There is a reminder in your solar chart to check in with the influence this is having, and to look in subtle ways. Plenty else has been stirring in your interpersonal life; you seem to need a lot more space — both emotional and physical — than you have any time in recent memory. You’re finally recognizing that what does not work for you cannot be made to work. You are entering a time when the old structures of your life will feel the strain and birth contractions of your rapidly increasing self-awareness. What adjustments to your life patterns have you made to respond to these needs or desires? How have these adjustments affected your relationships? Do you crave human companionship more or less than you did one year ago?
