You’re getting ready for some big professional moves — or, depending on how you think astrology works, the universe is preparing to unveil some of its plans. As this experience unfolds, I suggest you place a high value on the role of collaboration. There is a prevailing view (seen in many political ads these days) that the only way to succeed is to ‘go it alone’ and succeed by the grit of your teeth. In fact, you always succeed by collaboration. This is more or less true for everyone, though it’s especially meaningful for you. As you engage in these collaborations, you have to walk a number of fine lines. Control is a theme, whether it refers to you seeking power over others or they seeking power over you. The other side of this is learning to engage energy in a meaningful and creative way, no matter who is the boss or who ultimately controls the resources. Then there is the question of who sets the agenda. Given certain facts of your chart, this has to be a transparent process, where the agenda — that is, the goals, and the values that inform them — are considered something of a sacred text. Most significant is that you have to be you in your partnerships. So make sure that as you enter into new ventures, there is room for who you are and whom you’re becoming, and that you choose collaborators that you actually admire for their ethics and sensitivity, as well as for their achievements.

If you want love, you will need to invest your energy in loving loving kinds of people. Arriving at a point in your growth where you can really do this requires a learning process. Until we learn to pick available partners, we may go through seemingly endless periods of choosing unavailable partners, who serve only to reinforce false past ideas about ourselves. Unavailable partners mainly to protect us from love, and serve as blockades against people who really care. They protect us not only from loss, but also from having to let go into real emotional experiences, and keep us in situations that are predictable. Is this what you want?

There are so many possibilities. So many of them lead us nowhere. And the ones that are often the most valuable we rarely see for what they are. I suggest you look through your past history and the facade of what seems impossible or improbable and take a step toward what you know is the most important thing in your life. It is likely to come in the form of some kind of commitment and certainly some kind of decision. But the difference between false and true is that true comes from the inside as an act of clarity and in full devotion to who you are. Or to state it differently: let yourself do what is most obviously right.

Recently, it seems, you had the truth handed to you. What did you do with it? Do you still have it? While many on this planet complain that the truth is not knowable, or is a kind of fictional philosophical concept and not a provable reality, the problem involves how we respond once we encounter it. This peculiar function of the mind, known as denial, makes sure that we are usually out of contact with our most vital knowledge. You can afford no such luxury at this point. The reason for this is that you are gathering too much power to cut yourself off from your personal truth, or any other truth. Much of the past decade has taken you on a prolonged journey where you have seen many strange things, encountered a world bigger than you ever imagined, and endured several difficult tests of your mettle. You have wrestled with your conscience (and, likely, that of someone else). At times, you have prevailed in these tests of integrity; and at other times, events have seemed to crush your preconceived ideas. You are now in a well-deserved phase of reconsidering what you have been through, and the decisions you make through the winter will be absolutely essential in determining your life path for an entire long phase of your life. So tell me, now that you know this, can you afford to play any games with what you know? I don’t think so, particularly not since all the forces of the universe are conspiring to focus your power. The whole problem with power in this world is that it does not care much for the difference between right and wrong. Most people in a position to conduct themselves this way — and to some extent, that includes anyone privileged enough to be reading this horoscope — have granted themselves an exemption from karma. You have no such luxury now, and neither do you want it. You have responsibilities that are much more worthwhile.

The world is not your mother, and for this you can be thankful. As children, it’s mother’s job to tell us who we are. As a sovereign adult, it is your job to tell you who you are, and to work with the world to support and create that reality. Through this process, we create the world at the same time that it creates us, and the relationship, at its best, is fundamentally equal. This is not “the truth,” it is merely a world view. In terms of your goals, it’s imperative that you distinguish what is old from what is new, for your priorities have changed, and they are still changing. But you’re not without a stable foundation to build on, so you can afford certain risks, indeed, you cannot afford not to take certain risks. Such as, the only way to find your true work is to get lost in your work. The only way to find true love is to get lost in love.

Are you starting to figure out what that raging adolescent who’s taken up residence in your heart really wants and needs? In a word, experience. In two words, sexual experience. Most people never get to work out their transition into adult desires and feelings; and eventually (for most people) the desire to do so is lost over time. You’re likely to be getting a hot burst of what may feel like ravenous craving for just exactly what you want the very most. You’re also in a good position for that to be emotionally and psychologically safe. But you will need to take the chance if you want the experience. And it may have the effect of bringing up something old and unresolved that you finally get to heal.

I don’t think there’s a Pisces alive who wonders whether there’s a place for him or her in this world. You are soft and, if you haven’t noticed, the primary construction materials on this planet are concrete, steel and some odd idea that the past must overshadow the future. Your most important long-term transit has been Uranus in your sign. This is making you burst with the desire to make your unique mark on the world, to shape the world in some new way that embraces imagination and personal freedom. Pluto in Capricorn will give you some extra potency to shape not just belief, but material reality. This is a skill that few people have — most just go along with the program. You are moving into a position to insist that the program go along with you, or better yet, to establish your own place in the world. Certainly, the fear of being different will no longer hold you down. You have abundant energy and you are well into taking the step of being your own best friend.
