Are people with radical agendas and intense energy making you nervous? Are folks getting into playing all kinds of power games around you? Do you feel attacked, invaded or inquired of? Have there been new men or testy women showing up in your life unexpectedly? If so, I suggest you stop worrying and start figuring. The way the cosmic setup reads on my end, whoever is getting in your face has to play by some pretty strict rules. They may play hard, but whatever they are trying to do is not going to work if they play fast and loose, so learn the game and remember that you really can do it better; indeed, you must. And don’t hesitate to shut people down if you really feel violated. It’s your space.

Artists are at a significant advantage over many other people in that the work they do gives them the opportunity to embrace many facets of their being, and to use conflict in a productive way. It would seem like every cell in your body is reaching for this way of being in the world. The Sun and Venus are in one of the most creative, dynamic angles of your chart. Yet as they make their way through this territory, you’re likely to encounter many layers of old resistance, dysfunctional beliefs and pain that seems to be coming from somewhere beyond you. I suggest you allow this material to come up and out, rather than trying to deny it and push it back down. By approaching these experiences with curiosity and some passion, you will take pressure off of your relationships, and off of yourself. The beauty is that right now you’re in precisely that spot where creative process and healing process intersect — a place there is little use for judgment or guilt in any form.

You have to love yourself before you can love anyone else. Love that’s not supported by a whole lot of self-love in the emotional bank is what some people call codependency. It’s based entirely on the response of the outside world, and then ‘love’ is in essence purchased by supporting the less wholesome qualities of partners. You may have struggled with this issue in the past but I doubt you will be any time soon. Events of recent months may not have been particularly easy but you’re a smart hobbit. I would say that you learned not that you should care about yourself but rather that in truth you do.

Consider yourself on the verge of a decision, which involves whether you will embrace yourself fully; whether you will give (to yourself) or withhold (from yourself) the love that you seek. This is the question that lurks inside the drama of what we call love. Here, the phrasing is clear and the choice is simple: and it depends on no other person. I recognize this presents a kind of metaphysical problem. If ‘how we feel about ourselves creates our experience of relationships’, does that mean we control them? Obviously not: there are other options. When we resonate with ourselves in a way that is true or loving, we create a resonance field, and we draw or repel appropriate people. The message of the current charts is simple — how you feel about yourself is the most significant metric of how you will experience existence. And you have reason to feel good; you’ve been practicing.

The current astrology means adventure. If you can’t get on an airplane or the Space Shuttle, try taking a road trip of at least two hours and one overnight. You may be busy, but this will help you focus your ideas and clear your head. If you think a kid is holding you back, take the kid along too. What you need is movement, the expansion of your geographic horizons, which will key right into the expansion of your psychological horizons. I guess in a pinch, getting together with some good friends and tripping will suffice. But after a rather close and stuffy experience of someone or something the past few weeks, you really seem to need some fresh air and the sound of tires humming beneath your feet.

The tests and lessons life has presented you over the past year may seem unfair, but think of all that you’ve gotten out of the way of your long-term happiness. In truth it is removing those blocks that is far more important than importing or seeking out supposed sources of joy. And you have certainly been clearing the decks, cleaning the closets and taking inventory. It would help you enormously if you could do two things. One is really notice how people feel about you. The other is if you would actually do what you want to do every day, instead of what you think is expected of you.

You seem to have figured out once again that your worst fears are not true. Yet have you noticed how much creative energy that fear consumes? It might help to look from the other direction — when you’re at your best, when you’re accomplishing the most and relating to the people you care about, there’s no anxiety involved. The solution to the riddle of fear is being conscious about what you do with your creative energy, and keeping it positive. Engage your mind with thoughts of what you want rather than what you don’t want. Focusing on something is like watering a plant. If you choose what thoughts you want to grow and give them attention, that’s what you will nourish. If your thoughts go astray, gently guide yourself back to where you want to be. Remember: you have the power to choose.
