I would propose that you’re letting go of a false agenda in search of a real one. You will probably need to proceed in that order; and I assure you that you can live for a little while without a plan, a purpose or a sense of intention. Have you ever had the feeling that so many people fill their appointment calendars weeks or months in advance just so they don’t have to actually consider what they want to do, when the time comes? Life proceeds on a program, and while it’s not perfect, it seems to be good enough. What I’m getting at here is that it’s actually not good enough, and you are well on your way to better.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Pisces weekly for Jan. 28, 2000.

How do we recognize the problems we face in order to solve them? One way is to look for patterns and read them like Tarot cards. To serve your current purposes, search for the very large patterns — perhaps those that you can track the existence of, in some form, for a decade or more, and those which are in many ways too big to see. You will need to pull way back, create maps and diagrams, read your diaries, ask the people who have known you for the longest for their sense. Things are too good, and your potential is way too rich, for you to waste your precious time on problems that don’t need to be there, yet you’ll need a little more clarity before you can make your decisions, and make them stick. It’s on its way.

Don’t panic. I mean, OK, you can if you want. If you insist. If you think it would be fun. But would it? If there is a crux of your fear, it’s an especially harsh level of criticism that you may be inflicting on yourself. However, you don’t look like the original source of the data. It looks like you’re carrying around the self-inflicted emotional torture gene, and it’s acting up. While you don’t have to blame anyone, it might help to notice where this is coming from. To you it may seem as natural as holding a spoon, and it may indeed have been passed along to you from the person who also taught you how to eat. You seem to be burning up so much energy that you could make yourself unwell. I suggest you commit to expressing every drop of your energy in a positive and creative way. Don’t ask how, just do it.

Please don’t think the universe is taunting or teasing you with hopes and dreams that go beyond your ability to manifest them. As it turns out, one whole crop of your potential is just about ripe this week, with another close behind. Perhaps the aspects of your life that are ready for harvest amount to less than what you expected, or not exactly what you thought you wanted, especially in comparison to what you know is possible. But even small gains count for a lot now, and will point the way toward directions where you may expand your possibilities even further. The most productive energy to be in is one of acceptance — literally, to practice receiving as a daily yoga. Stay with it.

You can now resolve a professional issue by the one method you have not tried yet — stating clearly what you need. Be aware of an emotional block to doing precisely that: which may be the feeling that you will come uncorked, or reveal some deep contradiction in yourself the moment you attempt some clarity. This may help explain why you’ve been so pushy on the one hand, but reluctant to reveal your inner thoughts on the other. In any event, Mercury does not change directions until Monday, and I suggest you not take action or declare your intentions till then. When Mercury stations direct or retrograde, it always comes with a revelation of information or a new layer of truth, and this is exactly what you need.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Scorpio weekly for Oct. 2, 2009.

Family or community matters seem to be occupying more bandwidth than they deserve. Yet over the next few weeks, as matters begin to work themselves out, you’ll likely agree that it was worth the time and effort. What you’ve accomplished over the past four or five months will help you ensure that you proceed into some truly exciting, challenging times with a clear head. While you may feel responsible for your family and tend to take on responsibility for groups of all kinds, you (thankfully) have a limited leadership role. At the least, you have learned to share responsibility and learned how to tell others they need to look after their own affairs, and look after one another. The key will be heading into the future with no guilt that you’ve promised yourself to take on less of their stuff.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Taurus monthly for October 2005.

The silver lining to what may feel like an unmitigated upheaval is that you’re now getting to balance out your priorities. It’s only because your homing instincts are so strong that you’re feeling this as something more tumultuous than it is. You have an equally potent affinity for change and for living fully in the state of being different than others. If the events now unfolding are demonstrating nothing else, it’s that you are your own distinct individual, and one who can stand face to face with the world. You know that the roles or positions could just as easily be reversed. You can see some aspect of yourself in everyone — even if someone close to you is having difficulty doing the same thing. Sooner or later, they will learn, and if one of you feels reluctant to let go of the past, perhaps focus on this quality of mutual acknowledgement.

The absolute clarity of present astrology is offering you insights that are making the world seem transparent, but somehow made of living substance and not of glass. Imagine as you look around that the light passes through everything; said another way, that nothing obscures the light the world contains. People are not so mysterious and you are not so complex. It would be nice if the world could be this clear all the time, yet what you do have at this point is the ability to learn to see people and yourself from this perspective. At least you know it exists, and you’re unlikely to forget any time soon.
