You must at this point apply a test of loyalty for the people who come into your home. Define loyalty as you see fit, and make your own reality-check to see whether the qualifications are being fulfilled. You have learned much about being able to hold together your own definition of who you are. Perhaps the first test for those who cross your threshold, or sleep in your bed, is their commitment to supporting you in who you are and who you are becoming. I propose that words mean nothing and will not be reassuring. This is a commitment that needs to be demonstrated; not merely stated.

Dream: You are standing by the edge of the ocean, gazing out into infinity, and you feel infinitely small next to it. The water begins to rise, and touch your feet, and you now feel that you’re connected to this ocean in some way, but that it’s unimaginably different than you are; and then you pause and reflect on how pointless it seems to compare yourself to something so vast. But then there is a shift in reality, and as you look out, you see the sea as a reflection of yourself. You are the ocean. You have not noticed it rising, but the water is suddenly above your head, and you are now beneath the surface. You fear that if you inhale, you will drown, and then you have no choice; you need to breathe; so you inhale, expecting your life to end, and, to your amazement, discover that you can breathe water.

You may have the feeling something big is coming; but, rather than being a question of fate, it’s one of those opportunities you can take if you want. Life really is for the living; and those who are alive are often faced with the option of giving up something secure for half a chance of something better. You could say you’re experiencing an unusual spell of luck at the moment, but what’s really happening is that you’re allowing what is important to you to guide your life. Congratulate yourself — this is a true accomplishment.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Pisces monthly for February 2014.

You may feel like you’re dancing around the choice to immerse yourself totally in who you are — as if you’re playing a game of approach-avoid. Let’s assume that is true for a moment. When you feel any kind of approach-avoid, the first thing to check for is guilt. Fully soaking in your own reality implies that you will be yourself, and express yourself, without any reservations. Approach-avoid might show up as hesitancy with people knowing who you actually are, as if hiding it from yourself could in some way prevent them from finding out. That almost never works. People already recognize you and most are grateful for the example you provide. Some don’t seem that way, it’s true; you make some people nervous. I suggest, however, that you not underestimate the influence you have even on their lives. That said, it does not matter what anyone else thinks. Rather than avoiding anything, you actually seem to have come close to a discovery that you want to investigate, or have made an observation about yourself that you want to verify with some additional inner questing. I believe you’re about to discover how much sense you make; that is, that your seemingly most unworldly dreams, when subjected to logical analysis, actually make perfect sense. My saying this matters little, though — when you figure it out, it’ll rock your world and boost your confidence.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Virgo monthly for May 2005.

There is little you will attempt this month or anytime soon that is not magnificently well supported by the positions of the planets and the story they tell. There is little you will not achieve if you truly set out to do it. Yet at the same time you may be noticing a strange sense of apprehension approaching. It may be the sense that something has run out. You could want for no better news because much that you’ve lived with and lived through has served its purpose particularly the odd way in which your mind gravitates toward fear — or we could say away from your strength. While on the one hand we could view the coming years as a time when you will slowly purge your mind of everything that drags you down we could also say you’re now on a steady course for the heart of the Sun within you.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Scorpio weekly for March 28, 2008.

One of the most brilliant talents a person can develop is learning to get out of their own way. Try it. You are a talented, creative person by nature, but you have a little tendency to get hung up on your concepts of what life is supposed to be like, the order things are supposed to happen in, and an attachment to the results you’re expecting. Those are the things you need to set aside. They have exceedingly little basis in truth, but they also block access to your deeper talents. You need structure in your life, but most of the time you suffer from too much rather than too little. So ease up on your expectations; visualize the results as starting as a clean canvas rather than as a preconceived idea; and make room for the existence of a plan more beautiful than you can imagine. Then, follow your intuition and do your small part — but nothing more.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Gemini weekly for July 16, 2010.

You are having one opportunity after the next to confront your insecurities. Some of them are rather old, dating back to the neurotic tendencies of your family. Plenty of them relate back to what it was supposed to mean that someone was a boy and someone was a girl; these simple-enough biological facts are the cause of much stress, anxiety and phobias. As you integrate your male and female sides, you get to release these fears and do something more creative with your energy. The transition from being caught in an endless web of anxiety and experimenting with pleasure and creativity does not happen automatically; often we must move from one zone into the other, taking a series of small, conscious steps. Remember who turned you against yourself, and that they are no longer here to enforce the rules. You no longer need to do their bidding.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Scorpio weekly for Feb. 21, 2002.

With the Venus and the Sun moving through the juiciest romanticest and creativest angle of your solar chart you are probably feeling springtime’s arrival a little early at the same time you’re feeling certain limits on your ability to express yourself. I was going to write “natural limits” but then I was not so sure. Some limits are natural and others are artificial. The natural ones at least we can write off as things like landscapes mountain ranges and geographic distance. The artificial ones are more like ideas we put in the way of what we want. It’s a fine time to work through that particular kind of obstruction.
