Be aware that you may have a blind spot where certain personal matters are concerned. Most of the time that would be like looking directly at something and not seeing it. This blind spot is more like feeling something and not noticing you’re feeling it. Or it might be existing with a certainty of who you are, and not noticing that you may be having your doubts. You will learn more as you feel out the territory, which will happen as you rub against certain people and discover information that you did not know before. You might discover something you were not told; you may have a response that keys you in to what is appropriate and what is not; you may get a clue about an old relationship question that you’ve long puzzled over. There are moments when this feels like pure intuition at work. Yet it’s likely to be based on factual information that you are perceiving. Therefore, if you ‘sense’ something, seek the facts, ask the relevant questions, and use the information wisely.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Cancer monthly for April 2001.

Do not hesitate to release who and what is not working in your life, and to readily embrace that which is showing signs of success. Though I have not mentioned this before, the coming month represents the conclusion of a long cycle of effort, building and making your way in the world — depending on your age, as long as a seven-year investment. For the next couple of years, you will be carried forward by the momentum of what you have achieved and developed, though it may feel strange to coast for a while. But you not only deserve this; you need it. A reasonable plan is to invest no more effort than is really necessary, and to presume you have over-estimated your energy output needs. At this point in your life, less is more, and decisions count more than actions.

It’s possible that a female sibling or the approximate equivalent will be very influential in making your life a lot happier, if only by setting the example that you have no need to ever be stuck or run in circles. Find those people and study them.

In many ways, the river of life is flowing. Now, the thing to do is swim. Send out your dolphin sonar and listen for the return signal. Yes, the oceans are large and potentially perilous, though you have the power to get wherever you want to be. In addition to all this water energy, there is the picture of some form of direct contact in your solar chart, which feels like empathy and the ability to identify with the experience of another person. You don’t have to worry about ‘losing’ your identity; rather, you can only gain from this situation, because you’ll be exposed to ideas and experiences that will complement what you already have going on. Life is a creative experiment, or it’s very little at all. Circumstances this month will call you out of your old routines, into new ways of expressing yourself. Take the time to explore. Take the time to remember who you are and what you want. Let one good thing lead to another.

This is a time for taking stock, or doing what I call a “values inventory.” Stars this month point to a kind of final test for conventional wisdom, revenge on all the pundits who think they’re so smart because they helped get the world in the great shape that it’s in. I am declaring it open season on all the “common sense” and “practical information” and “good advice” that was pumped into your ears, nose and throat by assorted elders, aunts, uncles, parents, big brothers, big sisters, big bosses, petty tyrants and especially, especially teachers. Size it up against what you now know from experience to be true. Guaranteed, if you do this right, you will come up with a list of at least 10 wrong things that you didn’t even know you believed that are totally screwing up your ability to think clearly.

Does someone want something from you, do they want to give something to you, or do they want an exchange? Look at the facts; or rather, both sets of facts. When you add them up independently, do they come out to the same thing? Here is a harder question: to what extent are you using the transaction to validate yourself? I think this is the deeper issue. It would be helpful if you sized up the situation from the standpoint of needing validation in the context of a relationship. On one level it may seem about sexual validation, but to me it looks like you are seeking evidence for the existence of your soul. You can do this with the help of another person, but it’s easier outside that context.

You are starting to see possibilities where you did not see them before. Correspondingly, you may also be seeing problems you didn’t notice before, though I would propose that those problems may not exist. You may be saying that if the problems are not real, then how do I know the potentials are real? Well, the mind is better at making up problems that don’t exist than it is at coming up with solutions or creative options. Even if this is a matter of emphasis, it will pay to focus your attention on what works, or what will help, rather than on what might not be going well. One thing I’ve noticed in my decades of working with people as their astrologer is that most are not so good at seeing the possibilities. You are — and if you want, you also have the discipline to make them real.
