Aries (March 20-April 19)

Aries (March 20-April 19) — Whether or not your heart’s desire is a solitary endeavor or a team effort, achieve it as though you are a creative collaborator. Examine what got you this far in your efforts to find or achieve a sense of gratification, then figure out what it would take to extend your endeavor a step further. Don’t duplicate what has already been done, but don’t ignore it either. Instead, allow yourself to be inspired, but not limited, by the past. Then, and most importantly, remember that some tool, posture, reflex or practice that has worked very well up to this point will probably best be replaced by another implement or protocol more suitable to now.

Taurus (April 19- May 20)

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — Matters of partnership should matter for you more than ever, even if you find yourself somehow at odds with partners. To begin with, and just for the sake of argument, rule out arguing with others — at least for the foreseeable future. Even if it appears for all the world as if you are being short-stopped or obstructed by somebody else, pretend it’s actually you who are in your own way. Then, figure out what particular change you could make within yourself that might, just for the sake of argument, make things easier for everybody with whom you are involved. Allow yourself to make that change to see if things get easier for you.

Gemini (May 20- June 21)

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — Consider alternatives to optional long distance travel next month, but be confident if necessity requires you to make a long trip or two. You should consider your options, because the shadow (or ‘echo’) phase of Mercury’s next retrograde begins about a day before the Pisces Full Moon of Aug. 29. Mercury’s apparent reversal won’t actually begin until Sept. 17, and it continues until Oct. 10
— often we get a taste of the retrograde in those couple weeks before it starts. On the other hand, should business or other compelling reasons require you to traverse the Earth, remember that this next Mercury retrograde will be taking place in your simpatico air sign, Libra. Hence, no matter what you encounter during your sojourns, it will probably be something you have seen before, and you will almost certainly be ready to go with the flow.

Cancer (June 21- July 22)

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — Just for the fun of it, practice being more mysterious. This does not mean being deceptive or disingenuous. It means hinting at, rather than showing and telling others, what is going on inside you. That way, you will find out who, among all those you know, wants to go beneath your intriguing surface to know you better. This will mean being in conscious contact with your own feelings and emotions, while also remaining the constantly detached observer of your inner workings. Then, figure out how to hint at what you observe. Finally, step back to observe any who show interest and ask yourself if you are genuinely interested in them.

Leo (July 22- Aug. 23)

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — It is absolutely imperative for you to be self-aware at this time. It is probably not a good idea, however, to be self-involved. To find a good example, make an effort to get away from human society and domesticated animals as much as possible; you need to observe and learn from wild creatures. Even something as simple as investing an hour watching a spider weaving a web will do the trick. As you watch the wild things you have found, put yourself in their place and notice how in touch they are with their own physical being and environment. Then strive to emulate their style of awareness and being in all you do.

Virgo (Aug. 23- Sep. 22)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — You know the necessities of living in a material world as much as anybody. The question is the extent to which meeting those necessities becomes who you actually are. Now, more than at most times, you need to be on guard against slipping into scarcity consciousness. For example, when you go to shop for groceries, watch to make sure that you purchase only what you need for the time being. Resist any temptation to overstock as a means of assuaging insecurities. Remember that you really do live on more than food alone, and that you need a balanced diet of intangible nourishment.

Libra (Sep. 22 - Oct. 23)

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — Go ahead. Indulge in examination and reflection, but only to the extent that you can leave regret and remorse at the door. Whether you know it or not, you will soon be crossing a threshold into a place more mental than physical, if you have not already. It is a place in which you will be able to slow down and examine your thoughts, dreams, aspirations and inspirations repeatedly; this will allow you to see them in more detail and with greater appreciation. To make the most of your new headspace, however, you will have to occupy it in a state of unconditional acceptance and love for what you are. Make no apologies, especially to yourself.

Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 22)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — If things are not proceeding in an optimal manner, count your blessings. There is probably a jewel or two hidden in the proverbial mud. In addition to looking to get out of where you are, look around while you still can, and get what you can out of your circumstances. Before this time in your life passes (which it will), make sure that you have not overlooked anything which you will want to take with you, either as a keepsake or a medium of exchange to secure a future purchase. If things are going smoothly, good for you. Just be careful to move on slowly, lest you spin your wheels and get in your own way.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 22)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — ‘Getting real’ need not mean compromising your standards. In all probability, being realistic at this time simply requires you to adjust your values. For example, give at least some thought to how delayed gratification might actually be a good thing. You don’t need to go for all that you can get now. Allow yourself to consider how much more you can acquire if you invest your time and resources in a thoughtful effort, to eventually obtain what is currently beyond your means. Please consider exercising one caution while keeping it real with yourself, however. Don’t try to force reality on others. Everybody else is not as evolved as you are.

Capricorn (Dec. 22- Jan. 20)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — Focus on taking care of yourself. Don’t sacrifice what you know you need in an effort to pursue some vague notion of what you want. Instead, make a list of all you have very probably done in recent years to improve your situation, and then give yourself a pat on the back for being the person who made those improvements happen. That way you will not take either yourself or your means of supporting yourself for granted. Yes, there is another side of the fence where the grass may appear to be more lush and green. Before jumping that fence, however, think about what you might miss should you not be able to jump back.

Aquarius (Jan. 20- Feb. 19)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — Use your imagination, which should be a very rich resource right now. Specifically, imagine being magically and mysteriously transformed into a creature perfectly adapted to the environment you now live in and the challenges you now face. Consider the details of what that imaginary and perfectly adapted creature would look like; then look around both your inner and outer life for tools that resemble those adaptations. Once you find those tools and start using them, you will, in fact, be transformed by them. Yet you’ll also have the luxury of being able to leave nothing of what you have always been behind — unless you want to.

Pisces (Feb. 19- March 20)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — No matter what your circumstances, if you can acquire the skill of relaxing at will now, it will serve you very well later. This does not mean indulging denial. Admittedly, denial can be a tool, but only to be used in the sort of emergencies for which fire extinguishers are designed. In all probability, however, your metaphorical house is in no danger of burning down at the moment. Yet there is the possibility you are living through a tense point in your life. If that is the case, make a point of being able to relax no matter when, no matter what, by focusing on breathing out as much as (or more than) breathing in.

Aries (March 20-April 19)

Aries (March 20-April 19) — The choices you make over the next 12 months will make you proud many years from now. Provided you make good choices, that is. To help your decision-making process, make a point of taking a step back away from the fray periodically for the rest of this year. From the perspective of your occasional retreat into sanctuary, look back to the beginning of this century (2001), and review each year since. Specifically, see if there is a pattern that differentiates the even-numbered years from the odd-numbered. As arbitrary as that exercise may seem, there’s a good possibility you will learn something to help you make the best choices of your life, especially next year. — By Len Wallick

Taurus (April 19- May 20)

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — Sometimes the truth is hard to take. With time, however, what’s true will always serve to liberate you, so long as you align yourself with it. Assuming you want it, there is a way for you to attain just such an alignment. The way will begin with getting clear on just what validity actually is. Odds are you already have a feel for the nature of truth inside and out, but may have lost your touch to a greater or lesser extent. The first thing to be aware of is that becoming an intentional partner with veracity will be a process of remembering what you already know. The next thing to note is how your memory is more likely to be found in your body than in your mind. — By Len Wallick

Gemini (May 20- June 21)

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — Resolving the mysterious often requires considerable patience. Sometimes you have to sit with a dilemma. Other times you need to sleep on a paradox. Being busy, distracted or tired is not helpful. Provided you see a confounding or urgent conundrum in your life right now, you will also probably recognize that simply moving on will not do you any good. It will be most efficacious if you cuddle up with your enigma as though it were a good book. If you perceive nothing inscrutable in your life at this time, it’s probably because you are overlooking it. Should that be your case, cultivate your curiosity. It’s far better to find a puzzle than to have it find you. — By Len Wallick

Cancer (June 21- July 22)

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — If you have not been yourself lately, don’t worry. If you have recently had a dream that made you wonder aloud where it came from, don’t be disturbed. It’s natural to discover something new about yourself every once in a while. As a matter of fact, such internal disclosures are more likely (and more necessary) for you than for many others. Often such insights come during times of crisis when you realize a capacity, strength or talent you didn’t know you had in you. It should not be necessary, however, to go through stress to find yourself more thoroughly. Now is a good time to try previously unexplored forms of fun in order to get your revelatory needs met. — By Len Wallick

Leo Birthday Reading 2015: Stoke Your Fire

How can this chart be for all Leos, when you nailed each important event, prompting, frustration and calling of my personal life all in this one reading? OMG. — CM

Dear Friend and Reader:If you have a Leo Sun, Moon or rising sign (or you love someone who does), you should know that it’s time to pre-order the 2015 Leo Birthday Reading. This year’s reading focuses on Venus’ retrograde phase, and its extended visit to your sign.

Leo (July 22- Aug. 23)

Venus has been in Leo since early June, and with one brief exception it will be there until early October. That’s a lot of Venus, and it points to your getting the message about some important mission on which you must now embark.

For you this represents a glorious opportunity to reconnect with the ultimate essence of you: your core values, your integrity, and your personal brilliance. If you’re looking to strengthen your self-esteem or to reconnect with your personal flame and boost your courage for this year’s mission, Eric will have plenty to say in this reading to guide you there.

Your Birthday Reading includes two sessions of astrology of at least 30 minutes each, a tarot reading using the Voyager Tarot deck by James Wanless, and an extended written description of your astrological sign. Eric will provide images of the charts and tarot spread he uses, so you can follow his ideas if you wish. You’ll also receive access to last year’s reading, so you can review your year as Venus backtracks.

You can pre-order the Leo Reading now for only $24.95; note that the price will increase after the reading publishes. So why wait? We’ll let you (or the gift recipient) know as soon as it’s ready.

Love and Light,

Planet Waves

Leo (July 22- Aug. 23)

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — What do you actually own? What can you really call yours? You are at a point in your mental, emotional, spiritual and even physical evolution when it’s appropriate to contemplate possession and being. Start with the water that constitutes most of your body weight. Where did the water go that was present in your body a year ago? Where did the replacement water come from, and where had it been? Extend the inquiry to other components of your body and all your material possessions. Then, ask something of the same questions about your choices, decisions, affinities, skills, beliefs, needs, hopes, dreams, aspirations and affections. Where among those things are you, and only you, to be found? — By Len Wallick

Virgo (Aug. 23- Sep. 22)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — Change is often like a swinging pendulum. Things usually go as far as they can in one direction, then the other way to repeat a complementary process. You can see that process in the cycle of seasons. Every season reaches its peak, then yields to its complement six months later. The same pattern evinces in many other ways. The trick is to know where or when the turnaround will come. You could consult an oracular method (such as astrology) to understand where you are relative to change. Indications are, however, that it’s time to try your hand at being an oracle. To get started on the right foot, remember that oracles never know. They only show.

Libra (Sep. 22 - Oct. 23)

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — Something that has recently been out of sight or mind is about to return to your field of vision or consciousness. Whatever it is that’s been off your radar for a while is intrinsic to you. It’s a trait you don’t identify with, even though many who know you can see it plainly. Fortunately, the impending refreshment of your self-awareness will almost certainly be a pleasant and gratifying realization. That’s because you appear to have recently lost track of something about yourself that compels others to like and even love you. You will know you have regained sight of this lost trait when you begin to like and love yourself better. After that, it will be a matter of not losing track again. — By Len Wallick

Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 22)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — You know the feeling: you get ill and one of the symptoms (such as a cough) persists long after you are otherwise well. Or you suffer an injury that remains tender long after it has otherwise healed. There is likely a similar sense of lingering for you now. It’s something of a previous experience that has integrated into your being as a constant reminder from your past that has nothing to do with your present. If you recognize part of you in these words, begin thinking now whether it’s in your interest to keep it as part of you. If this horoscope does not ring a bell, ask around with those who have known you for a long time and see if they can tell you what it is. — By Len Wallick

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 22)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — It doesn’t matter whether or not a new ‘school year’ is soon to start in your geographical vicinity. If that were the case, however, it would be an interesting synchronicity. That’s because those of you born with the Moon in Sagittarius are about to resume your education in some way. Therefore approach the next month or so as if your long school holiday were in its final weeks. Rather than exhausting yourself by packing too much activity into too little time, look to rest and relax. If you know where you are going, get there early and settle in. Instead of being nervous or sad about what is soon to end, focus on and be glad for what’s about to begin. — By Len Wallick

Capricorn (Dec. 22- Jan. 20)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — Don’t let criticism from others bring you to doubt yourself. You have a better idea than most of who and what you are. You also appear to have finally allowed your limits to define, rather than depress, you. Yet you are also still a work in progress, and therefore impressionable, even vulnerable. Thus, it’s important for you to protect yourself from challenges originating in your immediate environment. How you protect yourself is even more important. Aggressive reactions will only set you back. Work instead to constantly be conscious of, present with, and grounded in your priorities and values. Then show that very consciousness, presence and grounding in your every action. — By Len Wallick

Aquarius (Jan. 20- Feb. 19)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — Your long process of intentionally seeking and laboriously finding revelations has reached a crucial point. You can now describe something you have been working on all year. Even so, your work is not over. In addition to creating form around that which you can finally name, you should also bring yourself to be aware of some unfinished business. That business originated long before the beginning of the efforts for which you now have a name or definition. What you are now avidly pursuing appears to have rooted no more recently than 2007, and as far back as 1995. Pisces (Feb. 19- March 20)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — The true depth of your emotional intelligence has probably never been as apparent as it is now. Indeed, it seems as if you have finally gotten over, past, around, under or through some issues that flummoxed and stunted the full maturation of your parents, and probably your grandparents. That’s good news for you. Even so, you need to be aware of how the example set by your ancestors can no longer guide you. Your challenge henceforth will be to proceed with no guide other than your own judgment. Don’t underestimate that challenge. Proceed with a clear intent to create a legacy of your own that will serve to sustain rather than sabotage your own posterity. — By Len Wallick

Aries (March 20-April 19)

Aries (March 20-April 19) — This would not be a good time to get liquored up. Nor would it be appropriate to get worked up about a conviction that you are an infallible force of nature. Count your blessings instead. Those who love you have good reason to treasure you in the depths of their hearts. Your own heart, in turn, retains a youthful vitality that defies biology. Apply your persistent vitality where you live and you will be immortal in the hearts of others. Return love where you find it and gratitude will bloom. Support others in their passions and your own desires will be received with understanding and quenched with generous approval. Give and be received.

Taurus (April 19- May 20)

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — Whether you travel or not, you are somehow bound to have many meetings of one sort or the other before the current season is concluded. Therefore, conduct yourself as though you are visiting even if you never leave home. Show the same respect to your guests that you would offer to a generous host. Assume the role of careful caretaker with all you possess. Practice the most common and trivial of courtesies with humility and sincerity. Bring light to custom and lightness to where you are accustomed. Take great care in all matters without taking too much time on any one matter. Make vulnerability a virtue.

Gemini (May 20- June 21)

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — To better be yourself, know who you are. Find comfort in your own skin. Anytime you have a chance to take a load off, do so. Seek not to distract yourself. Rather attend to yourself. Make any routine form of self-care (such as trimming your nails) an occasion to cherish rather than something to get over with. Inasmuch as is possible, bathe surrounded by soft lighting. Whenever you can, take a break from inner dialogue to sit in the shade and listen only to what surrounds you, to better know your own place in the world. This is not about recovery, it’s about a journey of discovery into what is real, present and good about you.

Your 2015-2016 Cancer Reading
To Achieve the Most, Take Care of Yourself

Dear Friend and Reader:

The sign Cancer is associated with food, emotions, nurturing and bubble baths. Yet the astrology influencing your sign is about some stunning achievement. Your focus is being drawn ever-outward into the world, and if you have not noticed it yet, you will be soon.

Planet Waves

There is a conjunction coming — Uranus conjunct Eris. Technically it’s exact in 2016 and 2017, yet it’s influencing you now, calling you to take action and perhaps even summoning you to shake up your world. For a long time you’ve been itching to do something bigger, more significant, more bold.

It would be an understatement to say that this describes a breakthrough of some kind. Note that no astrology has happened like this in our lifetimes. The last time this aspect took place was in 1928!

This conjunction is developing in the most outgoing, dynamic house in your chart — the 10th. That’s the one associated with career, reputation and what you achieve in the world. The planets are putting you on notice that your life is developing in some bold and positive ways.

Going well beyond career, this astrology describes your overall role in the world, as a leader, as a creative force and as one contributing to solutions.

I am about to prepare your 2015-2016 birthday reading. I’ll be recording a clear, practical guide to working with your astrology over the next four seasons. In that reading, I will read this aspect that guides you to toward some unusual success.

Yet there’s a cautionary note here — about the need to keep a clear focus on your home life and your relationships. Simply put, you can accomplish great things, if you take care of yourself.

My Cancer reading will help you do just that. I will offer you a complete picture of your astrology, which looks at your life holistically. I’ll remind you of the many facets of who you are, all of which add up to the whole person that is you. The key to this astrology is drawing on every facet of your creativity, strength and intelligence.

Cancer (June 21- July 22)

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — Persistence is not a bad thing, especially if applied to finishing a task or improving yourself. You may, however, find it both efficacious and productive to let up on others. Instead of continuously confronting, consider an alternative role as a constant witness. Be present. Hold space. Notice how, one way or the other, everybody really does do their best. Let yourself be moved by emotions not your own. Allow yourself to feel what others appear to feel. Instead of pushing your passions, pull up and take time to contemplate how judgment has no place in compassion. Sometimes an insistence on being right isn’t right at all.

Leo (July 22- Aug. 23)

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Imagine your life running backwards in a wondrous way. See yourself meeting everybody again as if for the first time, but possessed of all the knowledge gained from prior experience. Think about what first words you would say to somebody you know well, even though by some trick of perspective, they know you not from Adam or Eve. Ask yourself what your first actions would be, given the opportunity to flip hindsight into foresight and start over. Then, take what wisdom such contemplations bestow and carry them with you through the days and weeks to come, so as to make the most of every new acquaintance.

Virgo (Aug. 23- Sep. 22)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — Be conscious of what you regularly lay your eyes on. Then do what you can to see everything anew. A new coat of paint can do wonders, as can a new slipcover or even just a cushion or quilt flipped over to reveal the other side. Think about replacing light bulbs with a different kind, or just moving a lamp. Even redirecting a track light or two can give you something of what you are looking for. Whether you know it or not, you are looking for something. Whether you believe it or not, you will know it when you find it. Most likely it’s something you need. Quite possibly it’s already in your immediate environment but somehow hidden.

Libra (Sep. 22 - Oct. 23)

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — From this day until the current season draws to a close, make an effort to constantly clothe yourself in your best and most presentable underwear. Not because the all-too-common dream of attending class or work (or standing on stage) in your skivvies might actually come to pass in reality — not at all. Rather because you may soon find an occasion to share your most intimate self unexpectedly. This does not mean you should go out and engage in indiscriminate sex (although you might want to have an open mind about how to do so safely). More likely, you will simply want to prepare to make the best impression possible even if all your usual facades are suddenly stripped away.

Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 22)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — Burning the candle at both ends can exhaust you. Playing both ends against the middle can get you burned. Even though you place a great deal of importance on being a stand-up gal or guy, you might want to allow for some self-examination. It’s remotely possible some equivocation has insinuated its way into your conduct. It’s somewhat more probable that you have allowed (or even rationalized) a contradiction in your own terms with yourself. It’s not as if your soul is in peril. This is not about right or wrong. It’s about setting patterns consciously so that the consequences of your choices align more consistently with what you know is truly for the best.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 22)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — If anybody has consistently made the best of what was available to work with, it’s you. As a matter of fact, you have been so conscientious for so long, others could easily take your due diligence for granted. Even if others fall into the trap of not appreciating your customary and admirable ethic, please don’t go there yourself. You are about to enter a phase of your life when being critical of yourself will be less than helpful. Do not sell yourself short. Indeed, consider how it may not be necessary to sell yourself at all. Instead, cultivate an image of yourself as being without price — which is to say, that you are truly priceless.

Capricorn (Dec. 22- Jan. 20)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — Steady as it goes. Let that be your motto. You have every reason to believe that your decision-making process has become more sound. All you need to do is look back at the decisions you were making four years ago, and compare them to relatively rock-solid choices you have recently made. Now, it’s a matter of following through faithfully. Putting a long string of good days together is no small thing, but have no doubt that you have attained a proficiency for doing so. What you have labored so long to make of yourself is about to pay off. All that remains is for you to be patient, consistent and upright in every way.

Aquarius (Jan. 20- Feb. 19)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — Triumph awaits so long as you do not trip yourself up. Vindication is inevitable, so long as you do not diminish yourself. It’s not that your situation is precarious; quite the opposite. It appears as though you have a win in hand. All you need is simply to refrain from any behavior that would cause you to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. To that end, remember that the best defense is feeling no need to be defensive. Additionally, while your drive is undeniable, it’s nothing compared to the way your true altruism inspires others to carry you up on their shoulders. Once you are up there, all you have to do is not let yourself down.

Pisces (Feb. 19- March 20)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — You owe yourself a lot, so pay it off. Begin with pleasure. Select a legal, safe, healthy, affordable pleasure to which you are not accustomed. Then, allow yourself to have it in moderation. Repeat that allowance at reasonable intervals until there is no longer even a shadow of guilt showing up to spoil your satisfaction. Once you have paid the debt of pleasure you owe to yourself, you will be ready to take on other obligations to your wellbeing. So, in between sessions of well-earned and guilt-free joy, start thinking about what burdens you owe it to yourself to relieve, and how to do it. For the time being, however, simply enjoy.

Moonshine Horoscopes — Sagittarius Full Moon Edition

Dear Friend and Reader:

Tuesday, June 2, is the Sagittarius Full Moon, exact at 12:19 pm EDT (16:19 UTC). (View full chart here.) This is the Moon in Sagittarius opposite the Sun in Gemini.

To read these horoscopes, it helps to know your Moon sign (where the Moon was at the moment of your birth), which you can find out by entering your birth data into Serennu.com. If you know your birth time, that will ensure accuracy — but often you can still be sure of its sign even if the exact degree is fuzzy. You can also read these horoscopes for your Sun and rising signs for additional insight.

Aries (March 20-April 19)

Aries (March 20-April 19) — What’s ahead for you is probably unconventional, but not difficult so long you are willing to change a way or two. It’s not that you have done anything wrong. This is not about compromising yourself. You have simply created a groove. What’s being referred to here is just a few patterns you have become comfortable with over the past two or so years. At this point, there is no need to change your life on a wholesale basis in the course of one day. What’s needed now is only your willingness to be less cozy and inured of old ways. Seek a new groove. You will know you have found it by how unexpectedly appropriate it feels.

Taurus (April 19- May 20)

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — Have faith in where your emotional needs are taking you. There is no indication that you are being impelled in error. You must, however recognize that all causes (even your very personal causes) are not without effects. In order to exercise some control over the effects of following your heart, behave so as to be blameless in the hearts of others. It’s not complicated to enlist empathy and inspire compassion. It’s not difficult to inspire others to want for you what you want for yourself. Just realize you must first seek to understand and honor what others want and need from you before asking to be understood.

Turn On Your Mind With Your Gemini Birthday Reading

Dear Gemini (and their Friends):

Today, as the Sun enters the sign of the Twins, we are opening the doors to pre-order your 2015 birthday reading. The Sun joins two other high-profile planetary visitors to your sign: retrograde Mercury, and Mars.

If you have Mercury retrograde in such a sensitive area as your Sun sign or rising sign, you’ve noticed it by now. Maybe it has you feeling especially introspective, retrospective or less clear-headed than usual; perhaps you feel like you’re in a creative incubator. Then there’s Mars, bringing its assertive, outward push — and doing so while tangling with Neptune over in Pisces.

Taurus (April 19- May 20)

Looking up these aspects in an astrology ‘cookbook’ could leave you feeling uneasy, unsure of how to proceed. Eric understands there is no such thing as ‘bad’ astrology; it’s all about working with it from a place of grounded, creative potential — and keeping your eyes open and mind turned on.

With his usual lucid, compassionate, proactive approach, Eric will explain how you can do this consciously. He’ll empower you to take the driver’s seat as you head into your new solar year — looking ahead into well beyond this month.

The reading will include two sessions of astrology (at least 30 minutes each), a tarot reading using the Voyager Tarot deck by James Wanless, and an extended written description of your astrological sign. You also get access to last year’s reading to check Eric’s accuracy and review your progress.

You can pre-order your Gemini birthday reading for just $24.95 here — an incredible value for the level of personal insight offered. It’s an essential astrological booster for you or your favorite Gemini, and makes an easy and thoughtful gift.

Yours & truly,

Amanda Painter

P.S. Here’s what Planet Waves customer Debra MacFarlane had to say about her birthday reading: “Everything you said in this reading was completely and absolutely spot-on for me…I am astounded by your passion and talent. You have a gift.” See for yourself: pre-order the Gemini reading now.

Gemini (May 20- June 21)

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — Try a simple experiment. For the foreseeable future, if you feel embarrassed, just come out and say so in as plain and unexcited a manner as possible. Don’t hold it inside. Don’t apologize. Don’t explain it. Don’t embellish it, either. The same goes for any other unpleasant feelings — let them become fact in the world. Say your piece to the right person or people at the right time. Try saying it only once, then proceed with your life. See how that works for you. If it doesn’t work, you will have found something worth exploring. If it does work, consider your experiment worth repeating with other feelings of a different kind.

Cancer (June 21- July 22)

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — Indications are that you have something in the palm of your hands. It’s analogous to a string, rope, chain or rein. It can be pulled, but not pushed, to some effect. It can be applied either to secure or confine. Look in your life for something, tangible or otherwise, that fits all or most of those descriptions. Once you have found at least one thing or concept that fills the bill, examine what you have been doing with it so far. After you have a clear picture of what you have done, begin thinking about what you want to do with this thing so that it can define you, rather than undo you, after it is no longer yours to have.

Leo (July 22- Aug. 23)

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Work to become more present to and mindful of your surroundings for the next two months. Strive to be more aware of what you have not been consciously noting, while at the same time keeping necessary focus. For example, drive as safely as ever while also endeavoring to retain a more vivid and detailed memory of what you have driven past or through. Or make it a point to ascend and descend stairs as efficiently as ever while also knowing the number of steps you just took. Let less get by you while still getting by in the outer world for two months, and your inner world will probably change for the better.

Virgo (Aug. 23- Sep. 22)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — It’s likely that you will soon need or want to redefine at least part of your life’s mission. It’s just as likely that any such redefinition will not entail loss, though it may not feel that way at first. To avoid trauma in transition, believe in and be yourself. Also, spare yourself. Being critical almost certainly will not help, so don’t go there. Holding a grudge or demanding penalty will not make you feel more worthy, so don’t go there either. While your mission to redefine your mission might involve some trial and error, so long as you don’t put yourself or others on trial, there will be no mistake. Release, restore and be renewed.

Libra (Sep. 22 - Oct. 23)

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — See yourself as supple and adaptable and you will have half the battle won. The other half is to swear off emoting (or even thinking) a three-word phrase that may or may not have already insinuated its way into your outer expression and inner thoughts. That phrase is “I don’t care.” Those three words in that particular order are not your friend. While saying or thinking that you don’t care may feel like asserting necessary boundaries, what you would actually be doing is building walls you won’t want and burning bridges you will need. Allow yourself to be flexible. Ask yourself to care. You won’t be sorry.

Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 22)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — You are in a unique position to undergo substantial emotional growth. To avail yourself of a personal evolution to a new level of emotional function, endeavor to make the process of ebb and flow, rather than their polarities, your reality. To do so will mean being fully and authentically present to the highest tide while actually experiencing the lowest ebb. It will mean knowing winter intimately while in the midst of living summer vividly — and not as if in a dream, but assuredly in fact. Such an accomplishment will be, at least in part, a leap of faith over a chasm of doubt and fear. Get your running start now.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 22)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — If it all seems a bit much now, find a way to break any apparently overwhelming problems down into smaller pieces. Then deal with one piece at a time. Step back from the fray to recall how you may have already done some breaking down (rather than being broken down) earlier this year. In all probability you did it almost without thinking by simply delegating a few things to another person, time or place. Chances are you accomplished it adroitly, but were too busy to appreciate your achievement at the time. In other words, you did it before. Now you can do it again, more effectively and better than ever.

Capricorn (Dec. 22- Jan. 20)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — You know that you are capable of leadership. Others know it too. You can be as solid as the firmest ground. Both your feet and your ear are, almost by definition, attuned to what is being conveyed through the ground. The message you might now be getting is that you may soon be called upon to be the ground. You are ready; there is no question of that. Neither is there any doubt about your being able. Your challenge is to determine whether you are willing to be the rock upon which others will depend. You have a choice. If you choose not to lead, however, at least be willing either to follow or get out of the way.

Aquarius (Jan. 20- Feb. 19)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — You have undoubtedly pulled a few metaphorical rabbits out of a proverbial hat lately. Give yourself credit for that. Tricks, however, are almost certainly not your highest calling. That’s how you must be careful not to identify yourself too closely with some of your recent successes, lest their means become an end you neither want nor deserve. While your ability to make magic might be a useful side gig once in a while, don’t be tempted to think it will always work. What you do best goes deeper than a hat. Your real forte is digging the wells from which others will be able to pull many drinks of your inspiration.

Pisces (Feb. 19- March 20)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — You have come a long way, whether you know it or not. It appears that you are now climbing towards a position from which you can get a perspective on your progress. You will know you have reached that point when you feel the need for a breather. As you catch your breath, look back down the trail you have taken — not so that you can take it again, but to leave it all finally behind you. For even more certain than how far you have come is how far you have yet to go. Don’t let looking back lead to going back. Rather, let an appraisal and appreciation of your progress yield a second wind to keep you going strong.

Aries (March 20-April 19)

Aries (March 20-April 19) — You can’t go home again. It isn’t the same, much less what you remembered. Even if a place of residence or origin could somehow be preserved without change, your own continuous evolution while away would alter your perception upon return. Yet, there is a continuum in the sense that you know where you feel at home when you find it. It’s a sense you carry with you, like a key. Unlike a conventional key, however, your sense of home has evolved with you so that it might fit many locks and open may doors besides the fixed portal for which it was made. Grasp that, and your future will open before your very eyes.

It’s Your Birthday, Taurus!

Venus Retrograde, and Three Conjunctions to Mars

If you’re Taurus or Taurus rising, your astrology this year is sending a message about specific projects, goals or healing missions. Specific is the opposite of general. That means it’s time to refine and focus your agenda.

Planet Waves
True-color rendition of Venus, a planet similar to Earth.

There is a crucial issue of how you handle self-criticism — particularly of your creative endeavors, and of yourself as a lover. The usual options in this world, which are blaming oneself for everything or letting oneself off the hook for everything, don’t count for much now.

What matters is that you recognize the extent to which you critique yourself unfairly, that you discover how that developed, and that you make some adjustments to your psychology.

This is all designed to give you an easier time living within your own mind (which you and I know is a very busy place). Taurus is one of the most mentally active signs of the zodiac. It’s just that, unlike Gemini, you don’t always express yourself.

This year’s Taurus astrology has several distinctions. I’ll go over these in some technical detail (not too much!) and then add additional interpretation.

Venus Retrograde from July 25 through Sept. 6

First, Venus, the planet associated with Taurus (its ‘ruling’ planet) will be retrograde between July 25 and Sept. 6. Venus is retrograde the least of all the planets. It happens for about six weeks every 18 months. For this reason, every Venus retrograde is always a significant turning point.

Planet Waves
Venus of Willendorf, more than 25,000 years old, was discovered during excavation in Austria in 1908.

Venus will station retrograde in the very first degree of Virgo, then back up into Leo, where it will be for the duration of the retrograde. Venus will spend much of its current cycle in Leo — approximately five months, from June 6 though Oct. 8.

That puts a Leo emphasis on the next year and a half of your life. But in the midst of that, Venus will spend three weeks in Virgo. And it will be conjunct a slow-moving point that is about focus, overfocus and unfair self-evaluation.

So in the midst of a lot of Leo — seeing your beauty, taking pride in yourself and loving who you are and what you do — there is this three-week pause to reflect on the details. Notice them; see what you’ve been missing. This really is about observing the obvious.

Three Conjunctions of Venus and Mars

The other interesting factor for Taurus this year is three conjunctions of Venus and Mars. Mars is the planet symbolic of your relationship partners (whether you’re male or female).

One has already happened, in early January (in Aries). The next two are on Sept. 1 (in Leo) and Nov. 2 (in Virgo). This is the story of a relationship. It describes a series of phases that an encounter with someone is going through, on the way to arriving in a place of mutual understanding.

The relationship may go through ups and downs during that time. The thing to be cautious of is competition. Even beauty- and comfort-loving Taurus can be a fierce competitor. That would only complicate matters, where love and intimacy are concerned.

In many ways, doing something other than competition would answer just about any scenario or impasse you arrive at in a relationship. That could be on any level, such as scorekeeping, money, sex, sex appeal, success, whatever. Do your best to foster cooperation, and a sense of mutual assistance, not just with important partners but with everyone.

I will go over these and many other themes in the Taurus birthday reading, which is available now for pre-order.

PS, here is the Taurus reading for last year.

Taurus (April 19- May 20)

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — Being seen is one thing. Being a center of attention is another. Similarly, being the focus for others has its own double edge. There is quite a difference between having the rapt attention of a predator versus that of a lover. Even so, any such distinctions between different ways of being noticed should not be your primary concern right now. What you do need to think about is what you are paying attention to — or not. It appears that either your intense focus or chronic inattention is keeping you from seeing something you need to take care of before it becomes a relationship crisis. Look up, look around, and you will see it.

Gemini (May 20- June 21)

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — It’s time for you to improve your mastery of time. Begin broadly. Gather information. Read all the latest news about atomic clocks. Catch up with the fundamentals of how Einstein perceived time. Go window-shopping for timepieces of all sorts. Watch pots of water come to a boil. No kidding. If you invest some time in getting to know time better now, it will pay off, probably soon. This is no idle recommendation. The quicker you become more proficient with time, the faster you will attain some of what you have been waiting for. Don’t procrastinate. It’s later than you think. Find out what makes time tick for you.

Cancer (June 21- July 22)

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — What’s familiar has been a likely source of comfort for you for most of your life. Yet, even you may have recently started to feel contempt for that which merely meets your expectations. If a deeply felt need for the extraordinary has recently arisen for you, give yourself some slack. In all probability you have not been seduced by a sense of entitlement. It’s almost certain that you have not lost your sense of proportion. Instead, you are probably showing signs of having grown more mature and more responsible. Resist judging yourself as having become spoiled. Explore where the gusto goes.

Leo (July 22- Aug. 23)

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Your generosity has not been misplaced. Even so, the wellspring that has enabled your magnanimity might someday run dry. This is not to say that you should suddenly become more selfish. There is no need to succumb to that old shadowy trance of scarcity, either. It’s simply an opportune time to cultivate greater awareness of longer terms and bigger pictures. Practice thrift. Meet your needs for sure, but first be sure those needs are actual and authentic. Also, be modest — especially in what you say. The biggest strain on your resources in the future might be words carelessly spoken now.

Virgo (Aug. 23- Sep. 22)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — Begin something soon. What you initiate is not important. It could be a quilt, a novel, a diet or a romance — the more ambitious, the better. Indeed, the more audacious the better. If you feel resistance to beginning something, give that feeling a close look. What you see could very well be far more important than finishing anything you start. As a matter of fact, your whole (and holistic) objective for getting a new undertaking under way now should be discovery as opposed to a product. Nonetheless, persist. Maintaining an intention to finish what you start will be vital for you to succeed in unexpected ways.

Libra (Sep. 22 - Oct. 23)

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — You have not lost your way. Yes, to paraphrase an old lyric, it is a long road you are on, with many winding turns and an undefined destination. Yet, in your heart, you know the purpose of your life’s journey even if you do not know where on Earth it will take you. If you will now simply realize that your knowledge of what you are about is something uncommon, that understanding alone will be enough to sustain you to a point where you can better get your bearings and measure your progress. Until then, lighten your load. Not by discarding what you carry. Rather, try to truly love your burdens a little more.

Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 22)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — If you take the time to ascertain the astrology of any who are now attaining and overcoming in the world, you will likely find a disproportionate number born under a Scorpio Moon. So…why not you? If you do nothing else over the next couple weeks but remember to ask yourself that simple question, it might be enough to get you over some sort of energetic hump. It’s not like you have recently (or ever) been lazy. Laziness is not the issue. Don’t believe critics who say otherwise. Discouragement, and your vulnerability to it, are the issue. Defeat discouragement now so you won’t feel silly later.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 22)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Allow wet cement to be your metaphor and mantra, at least for the near future. That’s because life is likely now providing you with an ample amount of wet cement in some sense of the phrase. What’s more, it will almost certainly be a long time (at least four months, probably longer) before any of what your options amount to eventually hardens. So, at least for the time being, do what you do best: play. But also remember that the highest purpose of play is learning. In your case, let playing with proverbial wet cement teach you what you can live with (and what you can’t) before things are set in stone.

Capricorn (Dec. 22- Jan. 20)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — If you haven’t been yourself lately, rejoice. Living now, at this time, having been born under a Capricorn Moon, means one thing more than anything else — that you don’t want to be yourself forever. You want to change. You want to transform. No matter how happy or unhappy you may be now, what you are now will not be something you will forever be content with. Of course, there are some things you do not (or will not) want to become. That’s why it’s not okay to go overboard. Nonetheless, anytime you slip out of character, give that slip a chance to prove itself to be something else.

Aquarius (Jan. 20- Feb. 19)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — Chose your inflammation. That’s right. Pick how and where in your life you want to feel or evince heat, tenderness, disturbance, even pain. Not just to reduce any probability of the types of aggravation you don’t want, although there is reason to believe how precisely that sort of fringe benefit might very well accrue for you. Neither is this to say you should injure yourself or be reckless with your health. It’s more a matter of intentionally getting some potentially destructive energy out of your system before it expresses with unintended results. In most cases, it’s better to incur a blister than suffer a scar.

Pisces (Feb. 19- March 20)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — Don’t do what somebody else does just because it works. This does not mean you should be unreasonable or impractical. It’s just that what works today will almost certainly not serve its intended purpose forever. Those of you born while the Moon was traversing Pisces should understand more than anybody else that innovation is best employed before it becomes the last resort. Eschewing the tried and true will always be a gamble, but if you don’t take an innovative chance when nobody else will, everybody else might end up knowing regret. The future depends on you more than you depend on it.

Moonshine Horoscope — Libra Full Moon Edition

Dear Friend and Reader:

Saturday, April 4, is the Libra Full Moon, exact at 8:06 am EDT (12:06 UTC) — it also happens to be a total eclipse of the Moon. (View full chart here.) This is the Moon in Libra opposite the Sun in Aries, but with twist: the Sun and Moon are so perfectly aligned with the Earth that the Moon is able to temporarily block our view of the Sun.

Check EarthSky.org to see if you live where the eclipse will be visible.

By Len Wallick

Aries (March 20-April 19)

Aries (March 20-April 19) — Keep track of your personal energy level. Doing so could very well be your way of keeping your finger on the pulse of the world. Additionally (and probably more importantly), keep track of what is going on in your head when you either want to jump up excited or lie down exhausted. There is every reason to believe that the amount of energy you feel will correspond directly to the quality of your thoughts. There are also indications of a more subtle and implicit relationship between your vitality and your environment. For now, at least, focus on what you can control — your thoughts.

Taurus (April 19- May 20)

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — You may feel as though something is catching up with you. If so, welcome those feelings as a sign that others are growing to understand and appreciate you more. Try not to project that you are being pursued by adverse consequences. Rather assume that compassion for your condition is finally accruing. If, on the other hand, you currently have no sense of something going around to finally come around, you might want to look for clues. Chances are your good deeds and best intentions are coming back to you in a very gratifying way. Be receptive, not defensive.

Gemini (May 20- June 21)

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — Is a daily practice of breathing intentionally a salient part of your life? If a consistent ritual of conscious breathing is indeed integrated into your lifestyle, experiment with extending the discipline bit by bit into other parts of your every day. Notice the results, but refrain from drawing conclusions for at least two months. If you have lapsed with meditative breathing practices, or if you have simply taken respiration for granted up to now, look to set aside five minutes every day when you are most wide awake simply to focus on your exchanges with air. In two months you will be glad you did.

Cancer (June 21- July 22)

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — There is something you should be looking for. Biologists call it a niche. It could be an actual, physical place where you can thrive as nobody else can. It might be a role that, if you fill it, makes your life feel more safe and comfortable than ever before. Conceivably, your niche might even be a single, well-timed action that triggers a chain of reactions, which result in a sense of satisfaction you may have never known. Interestingly, the niche indicated for you by astrology now may very well exist behind a door you have recently acted to close. It’s probably not too late to open that door again.

Leo (July 22- Aug. 23)

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — If you allow your heart to consistently and continuously dwell with what it needs, your mind will better know how to express those needs. To help your mind rise to the level of your heart’s awareness, sit with one word in the coming weeks: compensation. Consider how that one word can carry two contrasting meanings. Compensation might be what is justly exchanged in return for effort. Then again, compensation could be a practice to conceal shortcomings. One definition is empowering; the other is not. Keep that in mind so that your needs, when expressed, will empower you.

Virgo (Aug. 23- Sep. 22)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — Think back six or seven months. Try to remember an action or decision that took hold somehow, ultimately making your life different now as compared to two (or even three) seasons ago. If nothing of the kind comes to mind, now is a good time to ask those closest to you if they notice anything different about you or your life now. If you can recall on your own what appears to have been a formative fork in the road taken late last year, now is as good a time as any to evaluate the consequences and make adjustments before you go down that road any further.

Libra (Sep. 22 - Oct. 23)

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — Not so long ago, you may have felt that things beyond your control were controlling your life. There may have been some validity to such a notion then. But this is now. Everything about this Libra Full Moon and total lunar eclipse indicates that your worldview needs to be updated to reflect a growing ability to at least co-create a world in transition. First, however, you must transition away from any attachment you have to being detached. To get started, imagine something that could be better, no matter how small, and make it real for more than just you.

Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 22)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — Your perceptive intuition nearly always assures that not much gets past you. The probable exception to that rule is when you conceal things from yourself. Fortunately, there is a good chance you will witness others deluding themselves on more than one occasion over the next month or so. Should such a possibility materialize before you, remember not to judge. Indeed, be humbled. Because every case of self-deception you witness will be a great lesson, and every person you see pulling wool over their own eyes will be a great teacher.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 22)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — If you feel like you have recently become jaded somehow, don’t worry. If you’ve been feeling a little blue a little more often than you used to, don’t be concerned. It’s in your power to turn things around right now. First, however, you must accept that you have such power. Next, you must choose to use it. To get yourself in the right frame of mind, examine what burdens you now. Not to itemize your concerns, but to notice how at least a few of those burdens are probably on their way out of your life. Once you realize how your load is likely to lighten soon, all you have to do is let it happen.

Capricorn (Dec. 22- Jan. 20)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — What you need is a little reward. Fortunately, it’s very possible somebody wants to show their appreciation for you in a tangible way. However, to avail yourself of the offer, gift or other form of good karma that is probably on its way your way, you will almost certainly have to make an adjustment. You will know the moment has come when you find yourself saying “I couldn’t possibly…” or “I’d really like to, but…” or even “I don’t know…” It will be up to you to catch yourself before those words come out of your mouth, and to make room for what you have coming.

Aquarius (Jan. 20- Feb. 19)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — Should something or somebody trigger an unpleasant memory, don’t take the bait. Astrology indicates you have finally reached a point in your life when you can successfully send ghosts away without having to entertain them first. This is not to say all your troubles are over. It is to say that it’s time for you to stop reacting reflexively to reminders of troubles that are no longer actual. The sooner you stop keeping the past alive, the better you will be able to accommodate whatever challenges the present presents. If you think you have already done that, please consider thinking again.

Pisces (Feb. 19- March 20)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — The world appears to be very much with you. Therefore, it would be appropriate if you chose to be fully with the world during every waking moment in return. At times, it may feel like total engagement with the world is a touch too much. If and when you do feel overwhelmed, please consider what the polar alternative — being underwhelmed — could do (and possibly has done) to you. In all probability you will miss this time of your life someday. To minimize any regret in the future, act now to miss as little of the present as possible.

Moonshine Horoscope — Virgo Full Moon Edition

Thursday, March 5, is the Virgo Full Moon, exact at 1:05 pm EST (18:05 UTC). This is the Moon in Virgo opposite the Sun in Pisces. (View full chart here) Len Wallick has interpreted this lunation for each of the 12 Moon signs in the horoscopes below.

By Len Wallick

Aries (March 20-April 19)

Aries (March 20-April 19) — It’s good to cultivate and nourish your inner child. It makes you a more complete, well-rounded human being. It’s not so good if your inner child runs your life. For those of you born with the Moon in Aries, there is some potential for the ‘not so good’ over the next few weeks. Fortunately, there is something you can do about it. Be with yourself as a child. Give yourself a hug. Let that inner kid know you love and cherish its presence as part of your total being. If your wise, old inner child loves you in return, you won’t have to worry — it will know its proper place in your psyche and behave accordingly. — by Len Wallick

Taurus (April 19- May 20)

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — From what we are led to believe, Jesus resorted to parables to describe his revolutionary spiritual perceptions. That way, the shepherds, fishermen, tax collectors and others he ministered to could understand what he was getting at from their own, relatively prosaic frames of reference. Similarly, you may soon need a parabolic approach for expressing revelations originating in your own lunar consciousness, so as to be understood by others. Therefore, as a prudent measure, take some time for translation before sharing either your nocturnal or diurnal dreams with anyone in the near future. — by Len Wallick

Gemini (May 20- June 21)

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — Here’s to looking at you. While you look at the Virgo Full Moon of March 5, reflect on yourself. That’s because both your lunar sign and Virgo are ruled by Mercury. Also, both Gemini and Virgo share the quality of mutability (mutable signs follow a fixed sign and precede a cardinal sign; that is, they occur in the middle of each season). Yet, because of the shared mutable quality, Gemini and Virgo are at right angles (or ‘square’) to each other on the zodiac. This is good, because looking at a Full Moon separated by approximately 90 degrees from your natal Moon position will give you a perspective on how those who have so much in common can be so different. — by Len Wallick

Cancer (June 21- July 22)

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — Truth can be an aggressive thing. It can root you out like a weed. It might blow you away like a fallen leaf. Truth can also burn, or (alternatively) sweep you away on an irresistible tide. While it’s not possible to predict what your relationship with the truth will be when the Pisces Sun opposes the Virgo Full Moon this week, you might want to prepare for an encounter with an irresistible veracity. Of course, that’s a good thing, because the truth eventually and always wins. Therefore, if you run into an upper-case version of The Truth anytime soon, please remember not to fight it. — by Len Wallick

Leo (July 22- Aug. 23)

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Being born with the Moon in a sign ruled by the Sun can be confusing. Yet it’s also an advantage. You have a natural proficiency for understanding and resolving the types of paradoxes symbolized by the Sun and Moon on opposite sides of the sky and zodiac (as is the case with any Full Moon). A Full Moon in your neighboring sign of Virgo gives you a chance to leverage into compassion the understanding bestowed by your Moon sign. That’s how you might want to let this particular Virgo Full Moon move you to more fully accept people with lifestyles that differ from your own. — by Len Wallick

Virgo (Aug. 23- Sep. 22)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — Patricia Arquette, the most recent Oscar winner for Best Supporting Actress, used her moment in the spotlight not only to give thanks but also to promote social justice. This year’s Full Moon in Virgo is placing all of you born under a Virgo Moon in a symbolic spotlight with a similar opportunity to do or say the right thing on behalf of those who have little voice in the world. Granted, you will probably not have the vast television audience Patricia Arquette had. Nonetheless, an auspicious moment presents itself to you. Do what you can to make the most of it. — by Len Wallick

Libra (Sep. 22 - Oct. 23)

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — While some may be stuck in old stories asking why, those of you with a Libra Moon should envision better stories and ask “Why not?” For you, answering that simple two-word question would begin by being receptive to how you can do better. Beyond that, it would be helpful if you were courageously proactive enough to ask others how you could do better by them. Of course, you must be ready to sort out the wheat of genuinely supportive feedback from any abusive chaff. Don’t let the bastards get you down. Rather, please allow loving souls to show you the way up. — by Len Wallick

Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 22)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — The blessing of a Scorpio Moon is your ability to drill down to that which many cannot discern because it is somehow hidden. In that sense, you and others who share your lunar fellowship are intuitively capable of resembling the fictional private detective Sherlock Holmes. Now is a good time to put that gift to work by discreetly but actively assessing and appreciating the sensitivities and vulnerabilities of others; this translates into showing greater respect in a meaningful way. If you can turn your innate talents to that one purpose, the results could very well change the trajectory of your life in a very good way. — by Len Wallick

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 22)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — This Virgo Full Moon heralds the beginning of a very important time in your life. This year (and all the way through 2017) part of your life’s mission should be perfecting self-examination without self-criticism. There is enough going on in the world to get anybody down. Those of you born under a Sagittarius Moon need most of all to swear off getting down on yourself. By way of achieving your mission, please consider ways (such as seeing a compatible and qualified therapist) to know yourself better. After that, be careful not to withdraw from others, but rather engage the world with justified pride in who you are. — by Len Wallick

Capricorn (Dec. 22- Jan. 20)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — Don’t be surprised if others ask you to assume leadership. Many, if not all, with a natal Capricorn Moon are well qualified to show the way. To be the best guide possible, however, is not a skill anybody is born with. Competent captains are made, often self-made. Those remembered as the best directors often have a knack for convincing others of their wisdom, combined with a kind nature. Given what the astrology of this Virgo Full Moon implies, you might want to begin experimenting now with what it would take for others to feel safe, both with you and depending on you. — by Len Wallick

Aquarius (Jan. 20- Feb. 19)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — Hellhounds are not on your trail. What you might feel gaining on you is nothing you need to flee or hide from. In all probability, most of the rest of the world is simply trying to catch up with what the emotional needs of an Aquarius Moon have naturally led you to become. For that reason it is now more important than ever to acknowledge and trust that your deepest devotions have not been misplaced. In all probability, enough of the world will soon catch up so as to provide the sustenance you need. Until then, put your belief in the most productive and secure of all possible places — yourself. — by Len Wallick

A Gift for Pisces: Many Planets in the Sea

Dear Friend and Reader:

The Sun has moved into Pisces, beginning a new astrological year for this sign. As the zodiac’s last sign, Pisces is both the headwaters of the zodiac and the Delta of Venus — the beginning and the end of the River of Night. You might think of Pisces as the most complete sign, the most sensitive and one closely involved with transitions of all kinds.

And now is a time of transition — making an astrology reading one of the best gift options for helping the Pisces in your life move with confidence through the changes that are coming.

Aquarius (Jan. 20- Feb. 19)

I am about to record the Pisces reading for 2015, which covers birthdays between Feb. 18 and March 20, as well as everyone with Pisces Moon or rising. We are offering that reading at the lowest pre-order price now.

Here is one of the reasons, in addition to current activity, this year’s reading will be a particularly important resource for those with strong Pisces in their chart:

In one month there will be a spectacular total solar eclipse in Pisces. This is the time for Pisces to understand their astrology — and take advantage of what it’s offering. You are being encouraged to shore up your confidence, to aim high and commit yourself fully to your goals — and your happiness. I also have plenty to say about relationships.

As for the reading: I present two audio segments of astrology, each about 35 minutes long. In the third section, I cover astrology afterthoughts and then a tarot reading.

Overall, it’s easygoing and designed to offer encouragement and help you expand your vision for your life. I’ll include last year’s reading as well, and a live conference call where you can ask me any questions you may have.

You can purchase the Pisces reading at the pre-order price of $24.95.  We offer the best prices for those who get on board sooner. I plan to have this reading done by the evening of Monday, Feb. 23, so the pre-order period will be relatively short.

Thanks for tuning in, and thank you for trusting me as your astrologer.

Lovingly,

P.S. Remember, my birthday readings make excellent gifts, and this reading is for you if you have Pisces rising or the Moon there. If you are born under a different sign, please visit the reading store.

Pisces (Feb. 19- March 20)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — If you have recently achieved some sort of notoriety, please consider how it might be something more than just a lark. If, on the other hand, you have either not sought or not attained a more widespread recognition by now, bide your time and act in good faith. Whether or not you have received pleasant props is not the essence of this moment for those with a Pisces Moon. What’s important is that you see yourself as part of something bigger than you and longer lasting than your life. If you behave as though immortality were possible, it might well become probable for you very soon. — by Len Wallick

Moonshine Horoscope — Leo Full Moon Edition

Tuesday, Feb. 3 is the Leo Full Moon, exact at 6:09 pm EST (23:09 UTC). This is the Moon in Leo opposite the Sun in Aquarius. (View full chart here.) Len Wallick has interpreted this lunation for each of the 12 Moon signs in their horoscopes below.

Aries (March 20-April 19) — A more public life is a greater probability for you at this time. In addition, you may very well derive significant satisfaction with even an indirect increase in exposure. One possible fly in the ointment, however, is the issue of satisfaction itself. Please understand it’s not a problem to act in your own self-interest. The potential catch is excessive self-involvement. If you want the chance of greater visibility to really pay off, you will need to demonstrate for others how a higher profile for you will result in appreciable gain for them.

Taurus (April 19- May 20)

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — You might want to take stock of how community is manifesting for you compared to this time last year. Consider contemplating the quality of places where you gather with peers. When you find yourself in the company of those with whom you share a mutual identity and/or purpose, are you now more likely to be the host or the guest? Simply getting a conscious grasp of where you find commonality (and how that’s changed) will go a long way toward illuminating how you have changed as well.

Gemini (May 20- June 21)

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — If options are few, consider tracing your choices back to where the appearance of limits began. If you feel on top of the world, think about how to stay there. Either way, time will almost certainly be on your side if you devote a little to the same purpose every day. Should your endeavor be to recover old ground, it’s probable you need only look back a few months for alternatives still available. Assuming your situation is copacetic, you may keep it that way by keeping tabs on where your feet are, and what’s under them.

Cancer (June 21- July 22)

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — From all appearances, you are on the verge of completing some sort of journey or task. Full awareness of what your intentions have been will almost certainly mean closure consists of knowing when to abandon the object of your efforts and move on. On the other hand, if a glimpse in the rearview mirror is only now making you conscious of how far you have come or gone, fulfillment will entail catching up with where you have been, what you have become, and how you are both more and less for your discoveries.

Leo (July 22- Aug. 23)

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Six months ago you may have reaped what you sowed six months before that. If such a scenario does not resonate for you, consider how its complement may be true. Perhaps a harvest of some sort is only now becoming possible. Either way, it’s important to know what side of a cycle you are currently on, so as to contribute consciously to its continuation. Trust your feelings in this matter. If you sense it’s proper to gather in, waste no time lest tangible waste result. If planting seeds seems more appropriate now, bend to it.

Virgo (Aug. 23- Sep. 22)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — Give yourself some slack if you are not clear about what you should be doing right now. Doubt and second-guessing are not your friends. Instead, allow yourself to step back until a bigger picture of longer duration comes into sharper focus. Get back in touch with the root values that have always nourished and informed your life. Let yourself remember who you have always been through thick and thin. Once you have reinforced a connection with your origins, you will better know how to honor your soul’s purpose.

Libra (Sep. 22 - Oct. 23)

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — It’s understandable if you are reluctant to even think about moving beyond whatever relief you have recently found or been given. You may forgive yourself if you would prefer to avoid further trial of any kind. You have indeed paid your dues. Sooner or later, however, you will need to get paid in turn. Better to make it sooner, and to accept that all of what you have coming to you will probably not simply show up at your door. It’s time to reconcile yourself with the necessity of leaving your comfort zone to collect on karma.

Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 22)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — Give yourself credit for what you have overcome. You must admit how fears you have recently chosen to confront head-on have dissipated for the most part. Yet, here you are — still in the woods to some extent, and wondering whether to dig a hole. Try climbing a tree instead. It will keep you just as warm as digging and allow you to see so much farther, perhaps even to a clearing. Of course, climbing down and making for the forest’s edge will entail some risk, but if the alternative is being lost, dare you not even try?

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 22)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — If you find yourself bored anytime soon, try a simple exercise. Make a two-column list. In one column list all the ways you feel rich. On the other side, enumerate all the ways you feel poor. Include all forms of material abundance, or lack of it. Do not neglect, however, to itemize intangible forms of both wealth and dearth. Then, put the list away and go about your life, but make a note on your calendar to review your list again come the Full Moon of March 5. What your March read reveals could very well turn your life around by April.

Capricorn (Dec. 22- Jan. 20)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — Look back to late December and try to remember at least one thing that went unexpectedly right. Then, look back to early January and try to recall how at least one thing could have gone far more wrong. Reviving recent memories of good fortune will likely be of great help to you in February, especially if dreary routine or nebulous discontent threaten to get the better of you. You have better things to do than wallow right now. You have momentum to maintain and people you need to inspire. Stay on your roll.

Aquarius (Jan. 20- Feb. 19)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — You should now be able to raise your head and look up from immediate concerns, which have had you so narrowly focused for so long. Look up to see — really see — the Sun and everything beneath it, and you will likely discover something that has been patiently waiting for you. Look up and allow yourself to behold the Moon in a leisurely way and you will probably find something new inside. Look up to those you would like better to understand, and a greater understanding of yourself will almost certainly result.

Pisces (Feb. 19- March 20)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — The fruit that ripens last is often the most nourishing. The flower that opens late usually smells the sweetest. If you have had any sense of being behind or somehow less than others, now is the time to see things another way. With passing time, you have grown and will continue to evolve so long as you are not wearied by worry. In the full expression of time your need for anger will diminish so long as you can release attachment to a particular outcome. You are not half empty. Fulfillment is even now at hand.
