This pair of photos by Amanda Painter and Hal J. Cohen from yesterday’s massive climate march in Manhattan give a glimpse of the creativity marchers brought to the event, and hints at later direct action. This pair of photos is from yesterday's massive climate march in Manhattan. Early estimates put the turnout at about 310,000 marchers, although given that the march took about five hours, it might be significantly higher. The photo on the left, by Amanda Painter, shows a banner for "Flood Wall Street," a direct-action sit-in and blockade of Wall Street that was scheduled to happen today and involved Chris Hedges. The photo on the right, by Hal J. Cohen, shows a puppet depicting what Lady Liberty might have to resort to if unmitigated global warming continues.
