When someone is first beginning to learn about the Mayan calendar, they often wonder if there is a correlation with cycles of the Moon. In fact, one of the faux Mayan calendars proposed by Jose Arguelles in the 1980s is called the “Thirteen-moon” calendar.
This is misleading in many ways because the Mayan calendar is more of a fractal-based sacred geometry system. There were many ways the Maya kept track of lunar cycles, but the method invented by Jose Arguelles was certainly not one of them!
That being said, this week I began to explore the meaning of the current New Moon of Sept. 24, 2014, and to my astonishment I discovered a direct link to the New Moon of March 4, 2011…and more reasons not to vote for Hillary Clinton!
I began this quest initially by looking back 260 days, or one tzolkin, from Wednesday’s New Moon, as I always do to see if any important events had taken place that would have an effect on this day’s energetic signature.
The tzolkin glyph 9 Ik/Wind gives its energy to this month’s New Moon today, Sept. 24, 2014. 9 Ik was also the tzolkin day on Jan. 7, 2014, when the Moon was at the first quarter phase.
This month the New Moon is at 1 degree of Libra. The Jan. 7 quarter Moon was at 17 degrees Aries. [Note: the Maya calendar does not depend on the use of degrees of the 12 Western Zodiac signs. I decided to use them here to show the precision of their calculations regardless of this fact.]
In 2013, 9 Ik happened on April 22, Earth day, and the Moon was just about to leave Virgo. It would reach 1 degree of Libra around 5:00 AM (CST) April 23, 2013. So by authentic Mayan Daykeeping, that is just enough time before sunrise to still count as 9 Ik.
Dial back another 260 days and we see Aug. 5, 2012, was also a 9 Ik day. The Moon reached 1 degree of Aries around 6 PM CST. That is just opposite where it is today (as a Full Moon would be)! Let’s keep going with this…
The pattern continues for 9 Ik lunations on Nov. 19, 2011, when a Virgo Moon had few aspects at all. But it would reach 1 degree of Libra the next day — 10 Akbal/Night — making it much like the April 22, 2013 Moon.
Then when we jump back one more tzolkin round (260 days), and 9 Ik lands on the New Moon at 13 degrees of Pisces on March 4, 2011. [Sounds of bells going off here, Bing! Bing! Bing! Bing!]
That was just one week before the tsunami that rocked Fukushima, Japan (March 11, 2011 — 3 Toj/Water) and started the great nuclear disaster still destroying the Pacific Ocean to this day. (March 9, 2011 — 1 Quej/Deer, was also the start of the ninth Underworld according to Dr. Carl Calleman, a scholar of Mayan Daykeeping I have mentioned in previous columns).
I expect something dramatic before the next Full Moon, hopefully in a positive way!
So the moral of the story is do NOT vote for Hillary Clinton! Her Moon is at 22 degrees Pisces, the same sign as the New Moon of March 4, 2011, and she was born on a 9 Ik/Wind day — Oct. 26, 1947. She could cause a Fukushima style disaster here in the U.S. Nothing is fated or written in stone (but that requires that we each make conscious, informed choices).
Do you really want another anointed President? Surely there must be another independent woman not entrenched in the ‘Establishment’ who can run and beat the Republicans. Just sayin’…
So for the rest of this week, watch out for snakes in the grass on Saturday, Sept. 27.
