Marked and Remarked

When the Sun enters Gemini Friday, it lights up the degree where an eclipse occurred in 2012. Len Wallick connects the dots between that event and several others, suggesting that you have a chance to pull a lot of things together, and to open yourself to the possibilities of an exceptional time.

Following last week’s discussion regarding how the 24th degree in a handful of signs are being lit up by current astrological aspects, it now seems appropriate to focus on how one specific degree of one sign in particular is about to be rung up repeatedly. That would be the first degree of Gemini.

Periodically over the years, Eric has remarked about how the degrees in which an eclipse (especially a solar eclipse) takes place are marked afterwards to the extent where “They tend to function as planetary points.”

Those ostensible “planetary points” bear watching for what Eric has referred to as “the synchronicities of what occurs when those degrees of the zodiac are activated.” Such an activation is about to take place in proverbial spades.

Back on May 20, 2012, an annular solar eclipse took place in the first degree of Gemini. It was a visually dramatic event. The only difference between a total solar eclipse and the annular variety is that an annular eclipse takes place when the Sun and Moon come together near the lunar apogee — the point of the Moon’s orbit furthest from Earth — as well as near a lunar node.

As result, the Moon does not quite conceal the Sun completely. Instead, it leaves a ring of light (or “annulus”) surrounding the New Moon’s profound appearance as a spot of absolute blackness in the middle of the brightest object in our sky.

Besides its dramatic appearance, the May 20, 2012, eclipse was notable for several reasons. It was the first annular eclipse visible in the continental U.S. since May 10, 1994. It also closed the astrological chapter initiated by the previous (partial) solar eclipse in the first degree of Gemini on May 21, 1993.

In addition, the first solar eclipse of 2012 not only preceded a lunar eclipse two weeks later (as one would expect) but also served as a spectacular preview for something even more monumental. That was, in essence, another type of eclipse: Venus transiting the face of the Sun for the last time in this century on June 5, 2012.

Each year since annular eclipse of May 2012, the Sun entering Gemini has served to re-mark the May 20 eclipse. This year, the solar ingress to Gemini shortly before 10:37 am EDT (14:36:25 UTC) on Friday will be just the beginning. A little more than 24 hours later, the Sagittarius Full Moon will oppose the Sun. Last but not least, Venus will enter Gemini early next week to promptly oppose retrograde Mars — just before Mars leaves Sagittarius to return to Scorpio.

That’s a lot of synchronicity. It is as though May of 1993 and 1994 are being drawn forward and merged with May of 2012 and May of 2014 (the last time Venus opposed Mars) in some significant way. It is as if a point marked by an exceptional eclipse is about to be remarked upon by the cosmos itself in such as way as to invite you to make a mark (or remark) of your own.

This does not mean you should undertake anything outside of what’s realistic, responsible or appropriate for you. Rather, you might want to examine your life for any unfinished business that should have been completed in 2012 or 2014. Additionally, consider furthering or otherwise building upon any endeavors you have undertaken in the last four years, with an eye towards some sort of culmination, if not completion.

You are undeniably part of what’s going around to come around both above and below. The extent to which you have chosen to consciously take ownership of your part with awareness and purpose will undoubtedly show some results in the days to come.

The next week or so implies a chance for you to pull a lot of things together, and to open yourself to the possibilities represented by one of those exceptional moments in time when all of time might be said to be present. Give yourself a chance to be fully present with these days, and you will surely make your mark quite well.

puma pink: It is not unusual for the astrology around the dates you cited to correspond with a change of residence. Eclipses often correspond to one pattern ending and another beginning. oppositions often correlate with culminations. Please don’t be afraid to write more. Any and all your observations and inquiries are welcome here. If you feel you are on a safer path, then you probably are – there is nothing in the astrology to contradict that.

It’s so true Len, eclipses do have lingering effects and their energy can be stimulated in several ways. In the case of the May 20, 2012, solar eclipse at 0+ Gemini, it was activated by Hurricane Sandy whose chart had Mercury at 0+ Sagittarius opposite the Eclipse degree and Neptune at 0+ Pisces square the Eclipse degree, and when combined they created a T-square.

The Gemini solar eclipse chart of 2012 also had an extraordinary Kite pattern, where a grand trine has one of its 3 planets In opposition to a 4th planet. The grand trine was made up of Vesta (inner fire) at 9+ Taurus, Mars at 10+ Virgo and Pluto at 9+ Capricorn retrograde. Opposite Mars was Chiron (wounding/healing) at 9+ Pisces. At the time of the Sandy Hook shootings on 12/14/12, transiting Jupiter at 9+ Gemini made a T-square with the Chiron-Mars opposition in the Gemini solar eclipse chart, which of course tapped into all that grand (water/emotion) trine energy.

By linking the Venus-occult-Sun event 16 days after the Gemini solar eclipse of 2012 there is the repeated theme of Gemini (Venus and Sun at 15+ Gemini) but also the nodes of the Moon in both charts were at 5+ Gemini (South) and Sagittarius (North). In the upcoming Sagittarius Full Moon, transiting Nessus will be at 5+ Pisces (and conjunct transiting Pallas at 4+ Pisces) squaring those nodes of 2012.

Because the Full Moon on May 21, 2016, emphasizes it’s Saturn at 14+ Sagittarius (conjunct the Great Attractor) in multiple major aspects*, and because it also makes a minor aspect with the Full Moon’s Pallas-Nessus in Pisces, (a bi-nonagon which separates the planets by 80 degrees, and which is considered a harmonizing influence) that’s where I will be watching for any signs of this 2012 eclipse regeneration. Perhaps some government movement in gun law restrictions or compensation/help for the still waiting Hurricane Sandy victims. Thanks for catching it Len and making us aware of it.

    * The May 21, 2016 Full Moon’s Saturn at 14+ Sagittarius is quincunx Mercury at 14+ Taurus and quincunx the U.S. Sibly chart’s Sun at 13+ Cancer, and when combined they form a Yod with transiting Saturn in Sagittarius at the apex.

This full moon’s Saturn also sextiles the U.S. Saturn at 14+ Libra and both Saturns quincunx the transiting Mercury at 14+ Taurus making Mercury the apex point of a Yod.

The Full Moon’s Ceres at 13+ Aries will trine the full moon’s Saturn while at the same time this Ceres will also be square the U.S. Sun and oppose the U.S. Saturn.

As only Fate would have it, I’ve just become conscious of the fact that when transiting Neptune has (and will be again in Sept-Jan) been at 9+ Pisces (the degree of Chiron in the 2012 Gemini eclipse chart) it makes a sesquiquadrate aspect to the U.S. Sibly chart’s Mercury at 24+ Cancer.

The many layers of this phenomenon; the connection between 2012 and 2015, 2016, 2017, and between transiting planets and the U.S. Sibly chart are only compounded by the conjunction of Donald Trump’s natal Venus-Saturn to the U.S. natal Mercury. Every time the transiting Neptune (often experienced as a crazy-making influence anyway!) has been in this degree of 9+ Pisces it has been conjunct the U.S. Sibly Nessus (think poison).

This means that the U.S. natal Nessus is in a sesquiquadrate (family of squares, oppositions) with the U.S. natal Mercury, a separation between planets of 3/8’s of a circle. This is then, an innate feature of the U.S. that is stimulated into action by any planet transiting at 9+ Pisces (or at 24+ Cancer).

Because it is innate or part of us, we cannot blame Trump for the results this sesquiquadrate (transiting Neptune to Trump’s Venus-Saturn and U.S. Mercury) stirs up. More likely then, we should be grateful to Trump for awakening us (U.S. citizenry, government) to this deadly indwelling malady so that it can be dealt with in the open.

Barbara: Thank you so very much for so generously sharing your insights regarding how, when and where the May 2012 eclipse is resonating like a bell. i especially agree with your observation about Saturn during Saturday’s Full Moon. Saturn is a big deal right now for all the ways you have cited and more. Most of all, however, thank you SO VERY much for how you have correlated the astrology of Donald Trump, the U.S.A., the May 2012 eclipse (especially the Chiron position) and the current position of Neptune. You make a very good point that Mr. Trump may be serving his nation in an ironic (but useful) way by essentially manifesting as a festering sore on America’s backside which is long overdue for healing. Good show!

Tug: Yup. Just as noted for puma pink, there is a lot of correspondence with culminations, the end of old patterns and the start of others (especially as regards to changes of residence. On the whole the trend is toward things getting better.
