If you recognize those names, you know they’re the primeval king and queen of mythological Egypt. In their myth, Isis puts the body of Osiris back together after his brother murders him; Isis gets help from the god Thoth to replace his missing phallus with one made of gold. The royal couple is then able to conceive the divine Horus. Does this New Moon therefore indicate a reunion between your inner Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine, in a way that you’re aware of both intuitively and consciously? Perhaps. At the very least, its placement in the sign Aquarius underscores both your freedom and your responsibility in this ‘seed moment’, and its connection to your role in a larger group.

What a trippy story this astrology describes, and how it relates to me personally is a bit unreal. That’s my life, a bit unreal. Anyhow, a little update, and affirmation of this uniting of feminine & masculine. I’ve been given a priceless opportunity to learn, as best I can in 28 days, the traditional form of ‘Beijing Opera’. We have a guest artist, Xu Jiali, teaching, and directing us in a performance. Using the form, we’re learning how to embody the female roles, which requires a lot of softening on my part, among other things. As Van Morrison sings on ‘Astral Weeks': “If I ventured in the slipstream, between the viaducts of your dream. Where immobile steel rims crack, and the ditch in the back roads stop. Could you find me? Would you kiss-a my eyes? Lay me down, in silence easy. To be born again.”

Indeed. I’m grateful for this info re: Isis and Osiris’ transits as it provides a needed closing to a passage of time I’ve been through. Several years ago a tree .a cherry tree in my back yard fell over . .full of cherries, as I stood on the balcony and watched it from about 8 ft. away. It happened as Jupiter, Venus and Mercury were conjunct my natal Venus and Saturn was conjunct my natal North Node.
In the last 48 hours or so it has dawned on my that I’ve just come out of a defined period of time with a sense I’d completed a test or lesson of some kind. (At the moment I likened it somewhat to Heracles trials). It began with that cherry tree falling and I’ve toyed with tying the end of this period of time to Trump’s Inauguration (which to me resembled – in feeling – the assassination of Pres. Kennedy) and/or perhaps the Women’s March.
There was a time when I kept track of transiting Isis’ positions and would note her aspects to transiting Osiris. That was because she would often symbolize for me a “putting it all together” moment when making aspect to (my) natal planets. Now, perchance, I read of this conjunction between transiting Isis and Osiris and the New Moon, all conjunct my natal Moon and I feel moved to thank you profusely.

Wow, Barbara, that is quite the synchronicity, and a powerful cycle indeed. I’m so glad I happened to take a closer look at the New Moon chart on Serennu! It really looked like a rather uneventful New Moon until I saw the lineup in 8+ Capricorn. Kind of made my jaw hit the floor.
And I appreciate knowing that you’ve been able to track the Isis/Osiris cycle with “putting it all together” moments. If I can remember, I think that would be a fun experiment to try.
I’m glad you did too Amanda, and I just checked Serennu myself and found that transiting asteroid Lachesis, one of the 3 Fates, the one who twists the thread (or bends it if you will) is ALSO AT 8+ AQUARIUS!!
Another interesting grouping – to me anyway – is Chiron at 22+ Pisces, Hephaistos at 23+ Pisces and Venus at 24+ Pisces which will impact the U.S. Mars-square-Neptune pattern and Trump’s Gemini Sun-opposite-Sagittarius Moon pattern. That Hephaistos and Chiron were both somewhat incapacitated by wounds and yet were also either an artist through metal forging (Hephaistos) or a healer (Chiron), and as they accompany Venus at this New Moon it speaks to our true values. Sayings like “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, and “Looks can be deceiving” spring to mind.
This threesome is quincunx (alter position) transiting Jupiter in Libra and square (challenged by) transiting Saturn in Sagittarius, yet trine (unquestioned support) transiting Vesta in Cancer. To me this implies that the demonstrations we have witnessed that support women and the handicapped and so on will continue for at least another month and will affect society’s consciousness (Jupiter-Saturn) through greater awareness. That Juno (defends the disenfranchised) is only 4 degrees from Saturn helps too.
Transiting Pluto’s continued “march” toward an exact trine with the U.S. Vesta (what we invest in, are dedicated to) this March, and Pluto’s station retrograde in that degree (in April) make these positions of planets and centaurs and asteroids at the Aquarius New Moon (happening at this very moment) guarantee they will have lasting effects.
