Moon conjunct Neptune in Pisces: Tune In

Today the Moon is conjunct Neptune in Pisces. This aspect has an empathetic, creative and clairvoyant property, and it’s an invitation to listen with all your senses on, especially the subtle ones.

Overnight and early this morning the Moon made a conjunction to Nessus, which may have felt restless and evocative of old pain, but in a subtle way. Nessus is about the results of karma, of old experiences making themselves known and the willingness to take responsibility for healing what has happened in the past.

Don’t Argue; Check Your Facts

Monday evening, Mars will enter Gemini. Mercury is already in Gemini, warming up to a retrograde that begins in one week. So the addition of Mars brings additional focus onto communications and in particular, the whole matter of being right.

Tell it like it is writer Erica Jong has Mars in Gemini.

Tell-it-like-it-is writer Erica Jong has Mars in Gemini and is one of its poster children.

To put it simply, Mars in Gemini feels right, as in correct — as in the right to be and feel right. But Mercury, now square Neptune and slowing to a station retrograde, is suggesting that this is not such a simple matter.

The Mercury retrograde process is going to bring out layer after layer of information, and Mars will be involved throughout.

There are many reasons to slow down, pay attention and figure out what’s really going on. Even if you think you know exactly what’s going on. Even if you’re certain you’re right and are working with all the relevant facts.

The whole point of astrology is to see what cannot normally be seen; to bring the otherwise invisible or blurry environment into focus. Mars might seem like it’s doing that; Mars in Gemini is assertive and bold, argumentative and self-assured.

But there is reason for caution. This mix of Mercury, Mars and Neptune is suggesting that arguing will prove to be fruitless. Checking your facts, or any relevant facts, will prove to be fruitful. It also may take some time to get to the bottom of things, if there is a bottom.

Sail Through This Mercury Retrograde in Style

Dear Planet Waves Reader:

It’s almost Mercury retrograde time again! We all remember the last one. Some of us are still recovering. Mercury will be retrograde in Gemini from May 19 through June 11. Mercury retrogrades seem to be getting more intense as we go deeper into the digital age.

Mercury is about ideas, communication, writing — and all these devices we’re using (or getting used by) all day long. Because the timing of the Spring Report coincides with this event, that seemed like the perfect point of focus: The Ultimate Mercury Retrograde Reading.

It’s based on my experience covering more than 60 Mercury retrogrades as a professional astrologer.

This will be in two parts: a 12-sign interpretation, and then an overview of Mercury retrograde concepts and approaches. Because nearly every task in our lives is now organized through a Mercury-ruled device, this is becoming the #1 worldly god with whom we must contend.

The 12-sign reading will guide you, by Sun sign and rising sign, how to approach this retrograde. Each reading will be about 20 minutes (I usually go over my planned duration). How will this affect your solar chart, or natal chart? That’s what I’ll tell you about.

Moon from Sagittarius into Capricorn: Today’s SMS Message for Core Community Members

The Moon is currently moving across the Galactic Center in Sagittarius. Earlier this morning it was conjunct Pholus, a high-energy planet, and that conjunction may have come with some unusual dreams. Remember them if you can — they contain information. Before entering Capricorn at 2:16 pm EDT, the Moon makes a conjunction to Pallas, in the last degree of Sagittarius. Treat authority with respect and avoid jumping ranks unless as a last resort. Be mindful of your role and your responsibilities and make sure you honor those first and foremost. Once the Moon ingresses Cancer, it will spend the subsequent 24 to 36 hours approaching the Uranus-Pluto square. More on that soon. See you tonight with a weekly horoscope by me and a lead by Amanda.

It’s Your Birthday, Taurus! Venus Retrograde, and Three Conjunctions to Mars

If you’re Taurus or Taurus rising, your astrology this year is sending a message about specific projects, goals or healing missions. Specific is the opposite of general. That means it’s time to refine and focus your agenda.

True-color rendition of Venus, a planet similar to Earth.

There is a crucial issue of how you handle self-criticism — particularly of your creative endeavors, and of yourself as a lover. The usual options in this world, which are blaming oneself for everything or letting oneself off the hook for everything, don’t count for much now.

What matters is that you recognize the extent to which you critique yourself unfairly, that you discover how that developed, and that you make some adjustments to your psychology.

This is all designed to give you an easier time living within your own mind (which you and I know is a very busy place). Taurus is one of the most mentally active signs of the zodiac. It’s just that, unlike Gemini, you don’t always express yourself.

This year’s Taurus astrology has several distinctions. I’ll go over these in some technical detail (not too much!) and then add additional interpretation.

This Is About Your Children or Grandchildren

Note: I have released the first segment in the Generation: Millennials reading! You can order the full reading here; segments are being published individually.

Dear Friend and Reader:

Sometime in the early 1980s, people started displaying the ‘Baby on Board’ sign in the back windows of their cars. Far from being the Pet Rock of its day, this sign heralded new attitudes in parenting, and the arrival of a new generation — the Millennials.

These kids were welcomed to the world, and grew up amongst parents who really did their best for them. The cynical attitudes toward parenting of the 1960s and the 1970s were finally being left behind.

Now, the first arrivals from this generation are at or just beyond their first Saturn return, the astrological gateway into adulthood. Yet they face a world that seems openly hostile to their growth and progress.

For one thing, most of the Millennials who went to college carry a ridiculous amount of student loan debt. And there is a question whether their education even prepared them for life in the 21st century — and if not, how they are going to get that preparation.

Second, they are emerging into an economy where there are not many job opportunities for them. Said more precisely, the concept of a job is changing; some would say it’s evaporating. Millennials are coming of age in a world that is unrecognizable from anything their parents experienced.
