You really can let bygones be bygones with a sibling. At the same time, it’s always useful to recognize who a person is and accept them for that, rather than trying to change them in any way — and I do mean any way. Most people are committed to who they have become rather than to who they are becoming. You don’t live that way, and your charts are all about moving on. You see a bigger world; you are aware of the existence of horizons much wider than you’ve ever lived. That really is the difference between you and the people you grew up around. The challenging part of accepting that difference is feeling free to be who you are as an active process, rather than a fixed notion — and not using your past, or the figures of the past, as a point of comparison by which you judge yourself. A little compare and contrast is okay, but not too much. You are learning to see yourself in the context of wider potentials than you, or they, ever have, and the habit of comparison is a way to block that. Aim for the sky.

A shift in your value system and a new dynamic at home seems to begin a true reassessment of your life’s purpose. Put another way, something is going on that is forcing you to question what you own and what owns you. This includes forces from your past, things you have been taught and patterns you thought were suited for your needs. Perhaps you have found yourself in the same old situation and it seems unfamiliar somehow. Ask yourself at this moment what it was that used to be there and if you can still find it. Do your values fully represent what you are capable of?

You must be honest with yourself. That is the key. It’s the key because it’s so easy to be in denial right now. That denial can come in two forms: what you want, and what you’re angry about. They are likely to be related, so closely as to be the same thing. So if you notice yourself feeling anger, no matter how subtle, ask yourself what you want. If you notice yourself wanting something, notice how you feel about that fact. You may have emotions around a delay in gratification or fulfillment, or merely the lack of having your desires acknowledged. Yet your charts are clear that you are the one who has to do most of the noticing of your own inner reality. In this process it’s essential that you not try to wrap what you want around what someone else wants. You may need to ask yourself what you would do were someone else not in your life, or not exerting an influence over you. One last clue: you may be responding to a past influence, such as what that person three partners ago said. Who you are, and what you want now, are what counts.

You may not be planning to establish your roots in a particular place or even at a particular time, but circumstances are conspiring that you make certain adjustments to your plans on the way to settling into the life you want and need. One of the key principles that surrounds your home life is that of balance. Your home needs to be a sane place, so that your relationships can possess a measure of the equilibrium that is so essential to your sanity and happiness. Keep this principle in mind; make sure the left and the right sides have something in common, and above all, keep your eye on beauty. That is a sure sign of balance, and of awareness.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Capricorn weekly for Jan. 15, 2015.

Be careful with money, and slow down the implementation of your business plans. A short delay now will save long delays later in the year. Take the time to get it right, and to plan your timing carefully. I suggest that with anything of a financial nature — that is to say, involving outlay of cash, unusual use of credit, or new plans for income — go on pause for a while. There are some things that may not be able to wait, though if you evaluate them carefully you may find a workaround. Unless there is some kind of absolute, inviolable deadline, explain to others that you’ll be ready to sign or have that paperwork in a few weeks. Where money and commitments are concerned, it pays to honor Mercury retrograde.

The hard-boiled, “prove it to me” mind of an Aquarian typically has little use for religion, but you at least are an Aquarian who is open to the possibilities enough to be reading a horoscope column. Yet we all have religion. It’s like an expansion slot in the mind that must be filled by something, and while we can’t function with it empty, we get to choose what we accept into that very personal space. If you ask me, the perfect religion for you would worship art, beauty and love, and you are about to enter your holy season. Just in time, too, after your recent delves into the world of business and finance have left you looking for something a little more precious.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Cancer weekly for Nov. 20, 2014.

You seem to be in a time crunch, though I think that will let up as the next few astrological developments unfold. You could benefit from experimenting with the idea that you actually have plenty of time to accomplish what you need to. This is an idea more than anything else; being rushed is often an idea rather than a reality. Often but not always, and I think this is one of the times when the pressure is more conceptual than it is real. There are, meanwhile, plenty of things you can do over the next week or so to move obstacles out of your way, and clear the space in front of you. Just doing that will help you feel like you’re in a more spacious reality. And that might reveal in a bold way that time is entirely a function of thought, closely related to belief. Most important, using your time is a matter of priorities.
