Today’s Oracle takes us to the Capricorn weekly for July 9, 2010.

Shift into proactive mode. For the past few months you’ve been able to ease away from the feeling that you need to be six steps ahead of everyone, and you needed the rest. Now you’re back to a distinct need to be on top of your game. That means mapping out the chessboard, knowing who is who and where you stand with everyone, and seeing what options you have. As the next few weeks unfold, you will need to make a series of decisions, and they count. Indeed, you’ve made several choices the past year-and-a-half that didn’t quite count, and now you’re playing for keeps. But you’ve learned plenty, and you’re ready to apply that knowledge. Let me clue you in on one thing you may not be noticing: people — such as colleagues, bosses, clients, peers or whoever — respect you a lot more than you think. Step into that space and live like your life matters. It most surely does.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Taurus weekly for July 17, 2014.

You may be tempted to do or say things in an effort to please those you feel are in positions of authority. Yet it would be better to take authority, especially over your own ideas. You don’t have to meet any standard except for being real. However, in our society this concept needs some explanation. Being real means matching your words to your actual opinion. It means matching the expression on your face to how you really feel. It means asking a question when you don’t know, instead of guessing, though that includes first checking in with yourself to assess what knowledge you already have. To take authority you have to be your own authority, which is a complex task; rather than being about bossing yourself around, it’s about having a balanced viewpoint, taking different opinions under advisement and ultimately being responsible for your own decisions. Someone who can do that is a valuable person within any group or organization.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Virgo weekly for October 31, 2016.

You may have recently made some observations about a person you live with, and you would be wise to act on them rather than put things off for a few more seasons, months or years. This really is a matter of confidence. If you trusted yourself, what would you do? That’s not only a question in this situation — it’s the theme of your life right now and for the foreseeable future. When you trust yourself you have access to your resources. When you don’t, the first thing to ask yourself is where your faith in yourself went, where you left it behind, or to whom you handed it over (any feelings of guilt will give you a clue as to who that is). My point being: it’s not only what you need, it’s the only thing you need, and you would be wise to devote yourself to this one purpose. It transcends all others.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Scorpio weekly for December 21, 2007.

Before you decide that a close partner is delusional, out to lunch or pulling away, I suggest you investigate your own feelings. You are not exactly what I would call in total denial, but you are about to make contact with something that you’re not fully aware of. You can save yourself considerable anger and other forms of emotional energy by making contact with it now. If you go along proceeding blithely like nothing is bothering you, the most likely result will be that you will blow up in a rage. Worse, you will likely direct it at someone else when you’re actually angry with yourself. Neither is actually productive; neither will forward your cause, your relationships or the human race.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Aquarius weekly for January 16, 2017.

One thing you don’t need to worry about is your public image. Sure, it’s almost always useless to concern yourself with what people think (especially since they so rarely do). However, at the moment, you’re perceived as something of an exemplar: one committed to doing the right thing, for the right reasons. If you have the feeling that your life would be easier if you didn’t have to do this, you are correct; and that’s a good sign. Keep taking the high road. Do the right thing instead of the popular thing. Maintain your policy of being friends with those who are unpopular or who are getting a raw deal. Your example of living as one who is true to your own values counts for more than you know. Carry on. Don’t worry about whether you’re making an impact. You are, where it counts the most — in the lives of individuals who respect you.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Sagittarius weekly for April 16, 1999.

I’ve been in the mood to browse sci-fi these days, and I happened upon the novel 2001 by Arthur C. Clarke. In it, he accounts for the turn of ape-man into modern humanity to be the result of alien intervention millions of year ago, teaching the our predecessors one simple skill — how to use a sharp rock to hunt and kill. And the power to hunt and kill made mankind dominant, and prone to laziness and excess. Whether or not outside visitors had anything to do with this advent, it seems clear that the use of violent force (for good or ill) made humans what they became, and makes us what we still are today millions of years later. Please tell us how you’ve mastered this particular struggle, and if you have any hope at all for the rest of us.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Aquarius monthly for October 1, 2003.

Focus on a health issue and everything else will become clear. It may involve a nutritional or digestive situation, bone or connective tissue, but could go beyond that short list. Seek professional help, using both traditional and alternative methods, if you remotely suggest you need it. Aspects are as close to perfect as they’re going to get to effect a full cure, mainly because the cause of the problem, its effects and the action of your chosen course of healing are aligning exactly as these weeks progress. You don’t need to worry about a professional matter that may have you concerned; information is forthcoming in ways you never could have foreseen, and with a level of accuracy you can bank on. If you take care of yourself, very little in this world will be out of your grasp or understanding.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Virgo weekly for February 29, 2008.

Does the work you are doing offer you something you cannot get anywhere else? I see two significant possibilities here. One is that you are learning and doing exactly what you need to be, and you know it. Your chosen work has taken you through the vortex to a state of mind and experience — particularly of community — that you always knew could be true. The other potential is that where you are, you don’t fit in, and it’s getting extremely painful. Maybe you possess a quality unique to Virgo (and often Pisces) that grants you a high tolerance for pain, and enduring unacceptable conditions. I suggest you leave that talent in the dustbin. There is only so much pressure to conform that you can really stand. There is only so much of this that the world needs. Over the next few days, the intensity of your calling is going to get stronger. If you are feeling that now is the time that you must do absolutely the right thing for yourself, please make that choice.
