I believe that having same-sex experiences are an important attribute of being a well-rounded lover. To some people this is intuitive; it’s as simple as “this is what I feel, so it’s part of who I am and something I need to express.” Others need some gentle coaxing, out of insecurities and those solidly clad self-images that society tends to attach to us. The value on same-sex experience is different for men and women, a point that deserves more comment than I have room for here. I feel that we need to support anyone we’re close to, to the greatest depth we can, in exploring the full spectrum of their eroticism — and be present for ourselves. If this is in your phantasies, let it be present. If you feel the craving to try an experience, find someone friendly and explore. I will say this — sometimes the first time is amazing; sometimes you get the feeling it would have been better left in your imagination. If that is the case, try it again till it’s really good. It may take a few times.

You’ve seen lately how meaningless the concept of “impossible” is, when you and others are determined to hold up a vision for what you want or need, then act on it. You may be presented with an opportunity to enter an agreement or make a commitment. I suggest you judge the arrangement on one criteria: how well everyone involved benefits. We are past the time when any agreement or arrangement can benefit one person or group at the expense of others; certainly you are in a moment where you can fully embrace the idea of a win-win situation. I suggest you settle for nothing less.

Here are a few clues and I hope they prove to be anything other than confusing. The false story will feel like you’re being pulled by an invisible gravitational force. It’s ‘supposed to’ be right, but it’s really nothing of the sort. We’ve reached the point, at least in American society, where sex must become synonymous with sexual healing. Food must become synonymous with emotional healing and the work we do needs to be considered integral to creative healing. All three are related; they all emerge from the ways in which we have been pushed into giving up our passions and in truth, giving up on ourselves. The sense of injury that you may be encountering relates to a collective wound. You feel it as personal; in truth, it describes everyone around you. The other open secret is that we constantly fall prey to the same collective pain that we think of as personal, and as a result we’re scared to talk about what’s bothering us, much less actually address it. Let’s deal with that shame.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Aquarius weekly for June 11, 1999

Two compelling Aquarians recently mentioned that they have a block involving what they call “meditation.” I have never been much of a meditator, so I am not a good source of advice on the subject. But I just looked the word up, and it turns out to mean not a fancy spiritual technique, but rather, “To reflect upon, to ponder, to contemplate.” As it turns out, I do a lot of this. I learned how from reading, but a special kind of reading in which I needed to penetrate into the core reality of an issue or an idea; in my case, it was usually fraud (a necessary meditation for any investigative journalist), and in contemplating the nature of systematic lies, I was able to come to an understanding of the truth. Try it, hmmm?

The message of the next three months, in total, is going to be that you are ready. Readiness implies you are aware that there is a difference between thought and action, and take that awareness to heart. When you’re called upon to do something, that’s when it reveals who you are. For most people, something must happen to them before they take action, which is a passive approach to existence. The active approach is to heed your callings and move your feet or take a chance when the information comes to you that it is time to do so. As you know, it is long past the time when you can live without fully honoring that which is most important to you.
