You need to ensure that someone who you care for and feel strongly about feels included in your life, rather than possessed or absorbed by it. ‘Included’ means on their terms – not just your own. Indeed, their perception of you may be nothing like your own self-view. There’s still enough pressure on the situation that it may take a minor crisis to reveal the nature of the imbalance, but you can view this as entirely positive because it will have a positive result. When you look back, I hope you’ll laugh at the extent to which a stand-off was passing for a relationship.

I recognize that an odd kind of fog is surrounding you and may be leading you to question the sanity of just about everyone, yourself included. But don’t get carried away with the questioning. If you’re suffering from anything, it’s a false lack of confidence. You’ve already been through anything you’re going to go through any time soon; there are not a lot of surprises in store at the moment. However, for that to remain true, you need to keep your attention fixed on the road. Just because it’s foggy out doesn’t mean that’s a good time to doze off behind the wheel.

Doors will open for you, if only you would actually express what you’re feeling. You have plenty going on in there, and it’s an unusual blend of confidence, fear and desire. But feeling is not enough. Emoting is not enough. What you need is actual expression. The way you know you’re doing that is you feel like you’re taking a chance — and as a result you feel good. Sex is involved. You might be inclined to convert all of your hormonal impulses into some form of sentimentality, nesting instinct or a drive for security. That has next to nothing to do with what I’m describing; indeed it may directly contradict, in that currently embracing the feeling of taking a risk is essential to your happiness. I don’t mean bungee jumping or parasailing. I mean expressing something you ordinarily would never say or otherwise offer to the world, in a way you would never typically do it. Note how much of what we do these days is designed to be free of any risk, including a moment of going off script. Start there — burn your script and feel the heat.

While you’re investigating every philosophy and spiritual teaching you’ve ever allowed into your mind, don’t forget to inquire about the nature of who you actually are beyond all those complicated concepts. Though most spiritual teachers would be lothe to admit it, we do exist beyond the ideas they give us. In truth, we’re a lot larger and more beautiful than most of those notions or models. You now get to translate between who you are and your ability to thrive in this world. The closer you come to understanding the real value you possess, the more tangibly that value will be manifested in terms you can understand, such as cash.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Libra weekly for Jan. 18, 2008.

Sometimes there are those moments in life when everything seems absolutely perfect, and you know it’s about to change. In those times, it’s helpful to recognize that the change is part of the perfection; and also that what we think of as perfection always has its flaws. That said, take in the moment, and ask yourself what process, long ago set in motion, is beginning to take root in your life. One trick to enjoying our brief journey on the planet, if I may be so bold as to propose such a thing, is to exist gently within an exquisite moment without clinging to it. That’s the option you have now. Anyway, the approaching changes will come on gradually, though certain events that set the process in motion may seem abrupt. Never forget the real goal, which is you cultivating a sense of safety on the planet, and one that is not based on how effective you are at barricading yourself in. Imagine living someplace where you don’t need to lock the doors.

You may feel driven to get your finances in order, and you can make some progress doing that. However, something more immediate seems to be on your agenda — something new and unfamiliar that does not involve resolving much of anything from the past. This is one of those moments when it’s vital that you not allow old business or old ideas to influence your new dreams, desires and designs. This may be a challenge, as certain matters lingering over from your prior affairs are definitely trying to get your attention. They may or may not matter much in the near future; in any event, anything seemingly important can wait. Your new opportunity — whatever it is — is more sensitive to the passage of time and it has a specific window, which you’re about to enter. Unlike any activity or task that is a holdover from the past, you will need to get accustomed to being in unfamiliar territory with a thinner atmosphere. Not everything seems so certain; you have to make things up as you go along. Yet the pull or draw in that direction, the sense that you really need to begin this thing, is undeniable.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Aquarius monthly for August 2009.

Continue to inventory what has shaped your psyche and how it continues to do so. Many people go through existence as if how they are stands without a cause. Cause and effect are inseparable, and if you want to understand the effect, look for its origin. It will become so obvious at a certain point soon that if you’re not seeing it you really don’t want to. The issue may be connecting a particular result with a specific root source; the link will be made by your intuition and verified by your intellect. One reason you want to observe and heal this issue is that you feel so much more potential within yourself than you are able to access. You feel the grandeur of your mind, and then it seems like something intractable is in the way. It’s not intractable as long as you recognize that you don’t need to become anything different than you are; rather you need to identify and come to terms with what is not you, and the effects that it’s having on you. The karma it would be most helpful to witness is how your own thought patterns create, reinforce and in a sense blind you to anything besides a certain kind of negativity that is entirely, as in 100%, unnecessary. This same cosmic property can inform you that your creative and loving thoughts can have just as powerful results; but the results are far happier.
