Intuitively, most of us know that masturbation is the core of sex, but do we believe it? We know that whether we love ourselves is the basis of loving others, and whether we trust ourselves is the foundation of whether we trust others. Yet we are taught to think of sex as being completely about ‘the other’, or in the alternate, we use the other for some measure of self-connection or gratification. But we’re never taught to nourish ourselves first so that we have something to share with others. A total eclipse of the Sun in your 2nd solar house (self-esteem, personal resources) is a reminder to make love to yourself before you make love to others. Really do it, and actually let your experiences be about love. You know you can.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Taurus monthly for April 2007.

Celibacy is an interesting way to see the world. It’s like encountering sex from the outside looking in, and experiencing the sexuality of others as a dimension apart, something out of reach. The kind of celibacy I see in your chart involves you experiencing yourself as a fully self-contained entity. Then, if and when you choose to open up, you’re devoted to that experience, as an individual, free and able to experiment in the moment. What seems to be an alternation between two realities, sexual and non-sexual, appears to be rooted in a question about whether you’re truly appreciated. You may feel that in holding back, you will get the answer to your question, and you may; but the paradox of that position is that to be appreciated, you need to offer some element of your consciousness. Anyway, feeling unappreciated is not just getting old, it’s very old, but whatever comes next is going to come from you.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Aries weekly for March 25, 2005.

Aries turns the ignition of the horoscope. It is the point of origin of consciousness and desire. It’s the ultimate sign of individuality and a point of reference for the whole human family to connect in ways we all understand. Yet what it tends to struggle for is to see itself as an internally oriented being; someone whose reality proceeds from the inside out. This may be because Aries is so capable of creating its reality that the whole process is transparent. Mercury retrograde in your sign is taking you on a long and deep inward journey but not the kind that disconnects you from the world. The more you delve into yourself get to know yourself or feel the simple fact that you exist the more likely you are to feel connected to people connected to the world and able to see yourself as someone whose presence is genuinely appreciated. But to express the mysterious process you’re now going through in such terms is to understate the point. Each event each encounter each new thing you learn is an element in a process of total transformation that is occurring during the next few weeks and which will continue through the year.
