Get ready to change your mind about something you thought was really, really important yesterday. You need practice doing this: unless you’re in a pretty deep coma, it should take less than a decade to make a decision. Actually, it only takes a moment, no matter how long you think it takes. The things that get in the way are all the trappings, expectations and attachments to the past that you think are so important, and invariably come around to deciding are not so important. I suggest that while you’re working out this decision, you notice your attachment to attachment. Is this a game? Is it something you use to hide from your own potential? Or are you concerned that once you hang loose for five minutes, you’re going to turn into an anarchist? It could be some mix of the above.

Beware of domestic situations that involve what some call ‘commitment’. Remember that we use the same word for alleged loyalty that we do for sending people to a mental ward. I recognize that you’re seeking security of some kind and that may seem to come in the form of an involvement. The problem is you don’t need anyone around you setting emotional rules that they themselves are not so inclined to follow. Think of it this way. Commitment is a gift — not a demand. Love never ever comes in the form of a demand.

You will know when it’s your moment to enter the discussion — if at all. Until then I suggest you pause, and remain a bystander. This is a potentially volatile situation, rife with potential misunderstandings. Though it may be close to you emotionally or in proximity, it does not directly involve you at this time. The thing I suggest you avoid is getting drawn into something that is not really about you, but that could become about you if you’re not careful. This will be a situation where you must consider very carefully whether to remain absolutely silent, or to say anything — and what to say, and why. I think that of all these considerations, the thing to consider the most carefully is the why. What exactly is your investment or your interest? If you come up short, I suggest you keep your distance.

Don’t worry if you’re not sure what you’re trying to accomplish and please don’t be distracted by the conduct of someone who seems to be making you doubt who you are and what you believe. The bottom line is that you really need to cultivate faith in yourself which is a good long-term investment anyway. There is more than enough happening to keep you busy and if you keep your mind on the task at hand you’re likely to be happy when you emerge in a totally new place.

There has been something standing between you and your success, and even your ability to express yourself clearly. Recently you caught a glimpse of what that something might be. It probably looked like some ugly psychological tendency that you’re dragging around; in reality, it’s a thought form that has hijacked your identity by forcing you to follow its every whim, subtle or not. You could call it a hidden negative expectation. The powerful part was not the negative aspect but rather the hidden one. It directly involves what would, presumably, happen to you if you open up and reveal a vulnerability. By exposing this you make yourself stronger, not weaker.

Fortune and success are calling your name personally, but I don’t suggest you send out a press release. Rather, impress others with how genuinely concerned for their wellbeing you are and make sure there are no little cracks in your reputation. If you find any, make sure you take care of the repairs with deeds and not just with words. The world needs leaders who can hold a vision and certainly you qualify. But more in tune with the times is a need for leaders who are capable of setting a good example. This way authority and recognition will work for you and not against you.
