Cancer 2015

Planet Waves Weekly Horoscope — Dec. 17, 2015, #1080 | By Len Wallick

Unless your situation is a matter of having to fight for survival, it’s probably not a good idea to choose conflict for the time being. Rather, select from three other possible responses whenever you feel an urge to respond with aggression. The first option is cooperation. As the saying goes, if you can’t (or shouldn’t try to) beat them, join them. By working to create with those you might otherwise oppose, it’s very possible to achieve gratification while also contributing to influence the nature of what is created. Where cooperation is not possible or appropriate, consider negotiation. Give a little in order to get a little. In the process, gradually establish and learn to maintain relationships so that negotiation can be either continuous or resumed at any given time. Finally, where cooperation and negotiation are not available, try practicing tolerance and give time a chance.

Planet Waves Weekly Horoscope — Dec. 10, 2015, #1079 | By Len Wallick

It would be appropriate for you to exercise great care in small things for the time being. By doing so you will be grooming yourself to achieve great things in the not-too-distant future. The time for assertive, even aggressive, actions will come. For now, make it your business to get, and set, things right. In addition, endeavor to remember, refresh, restore, regain and above all return to what sustains you. Feel for your roots so you’ll know where you have come from when you are someday far removed from where you started. Do not be deterred from focusing on preparation even if others mistake your efforts for stagnation. The best way to make sure that you do not trip when taking the first steps of your impending journey is to make sure that the laces on your boots are well tied.

Planet Waves Weekly Horoscope — Dec. 3, 2015, #1078 | By Len Wallick

It’s very appropriate for you to make your place of residence both comfortable and safe. Home can be more than just a place of refuge, sanctuary and nourishment, however. Where you abide can be lively and fun. You should not have to leave your abode to have a good time. Indeed, there is no better place to take a thrilling risk or two than in the security of your own space. It does not matter whether you live alone or with others. Nor should it make a difference whether you are hosting a party or in bed by yourself. There should be some way to find both joy and adventure under your own roof. Fortunately, your imagination is capable of being quite active and very creative right now if you put it to work. Think of some ways to have the time of your life where you live.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope — December 2015, #1077 | By Eric Francis

The next year-and-a-half will be an unusual and potentially brilliant time for you professionally. Yet there is not a clear path set out before you. Your growth will not be like advancing through the ranks of the Department of the Interior, nor will it take as long or be as boring. Rather, you will have many interesting turns, and unexpected (but somehow should have been obvious) developments. I think you’ll advance through a series of personal initiations that coincide with advances in what some call a career but what I would call your vocation. The difference is spiritual. A career you do in order to rise up in the world. A vocation is something you do because you must, come what may. A vocation means you have been called or summoned, and you are responding. It’s something that you do every day, all the time, no matter what other activity you might be involved in. What would appear to be the real variable here is how you identify with what you do. Success on some level involves adjusting your public presentation to harmonize with your inner goal. This will require a stretch. You’ll also need to take some unorthodox approaches in order to focus the appropriate kind of attention on what you’re doing. You are visible; you must do what you can to be seen in the most favorable light.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, #1076 | By Len Wallick

There’s nothing wrong with keeping yourself busy, so long as you are aware of your purpose for doing so. For example, if you are keeping yourself totally immersed in your work or chores in an effort to stay on top of everything, give yourself a pat on the back for your diligence and energy. On the other hand, there is also nothing wrong with slacking off whenever you find yourself wondering why you feel the need to be constantly occupied. Pausing for as long as it takes to get some perspective and self-awareness is just as important to your physical and mental health as taking time for food and sleep. Either way, whether you are on the treadmill or on the couch, it’s not so much the degree of activity that matters. So long as your behavior is not unconsciously compulsive, but rather consciously motivated by a desire to keep your life in balance, whatever you are doing (or not doing) will amount to something, and so will you.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, #1075 | By Len Wallick

It’s become trendy to make fun of those who practice yoga. In some cases, there is a valid point behind jokes made at the expense of those who believe that a deep and ancient tradition can be accessed through what amounts to superficial means. In other cases, it’s appropriate to satirize anything that is represented as a be-all, end-all. Yet, those who practice yoga in any form for any reason do set at least one valid example for all of us, by combining an effort to achieve both greater erudition and attain better health at the same time. Whether or not yoga is your thing, you might want to begin looking for an activity that results in your being both more well-rounded in personality and a more physically fit person. It could be as simple as taking regular walks to a visit local libraries so that you can sandwich voyages of imagination between discoveries made on foot. The ideal objective is not efficiency (even though there’s nothing wrong with that) so much as it is to explore what makes you tick.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, #1074 | By Len Wallick

Time is of the essence for you, but probably not in the usual sense. Rather than a constant focus on making every minute count, you may want to lift your head and look longer term. It might do you a lot of good to place yourself in the history of the world, even if you are currently of little note. It may well be more than just an exercise to draw your family tree and identify whether you are the root, trunk, limb, branch, an offshoot, a leaf or the fruit relative to your relatives. Finally, think about what you do. It would not be an idle pursuit to find out where, when, and with whom your skills originated, while also recalling how you first learned them. This could be vital. Indications are that you have been a long time coming, and that you are more than you have ever given yourself credit for being.

Marie Claire Horoscope for November 2015, #1073 | By Eric Francis

Imagine you have guardian angels feeding you information all the time. It’s as if you have a behind-the-scenes view of everything and everyone. The psychological insight that you gain will allow you to work through any challenges and turn them into assets. Trust the flow of your imagination; it’s dependable and accurate.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for November 2015, #1072 | By Eric Francis

The feeling of risk is not the same thing as actual risk. The notion that ‘this feels like I’m about to jump off of a cliff’ is not the same thing as standing at the edge of a mountain precipice with the wind blowing and condors gliding around. Make sure you understand the difference, because where your creative (and sexual) process is taking you is in the direction of a personal boundary. You might say that’s the place where you will decide to keep it real, or to choose some other alternative. Why would you do anything but be real? Well, you might feel out of practice. You might think it’s scary, mistaking a personal edge for an actual thing you can fall off of. This zone I’m talking about is the place where you can make contact with your vitality. I know this seems to spook or freak out those who are easily frightened. Many people think there’s such a thing as too real or too alive or too free or whatever. That simply must be their problem. You have reached a point in your development when nothing but actually being — and feeling — alive will suit you. This truth or necessity or bottom line (as you wish) resounds through all areas of your life, which are not really areas at all. Part of being alive is embracing how all of your existence is indeed your existence.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015 #1071 | By Eric Francis

Potent astrological forces are saying it’s time to align with your purpose for coming to the Earth at this time. This sense of purpose has a number of facets, all of which come back to the same basic theme. That theme is how you relate to the world, which means your world — that exact place where you intersect with anything seemingly larger than yourself. Let’s start with your family. It’s up to you to define all of those relationships, and your early environment, exactly the way that works the best for you. There were helpful elements and there were difficult ones; put the whole mix to work on your behalf. Then there is this elusive thing called society — all those entities that seem to have all that power over you and your destiny. Here is a question: in what way do you serve them, and in what way do they serve you? Now is a critical time to get clear on your relationship to what I will call the world of power. Here is an even better question: can you see the parallels between the scenario involving your family of origin and the one about how you relate to those big entities and influential people? They’re not just closely related — they are the same thing.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015 #1070 | By Eric Francis

A few times recently I’ve brought up the theme of writing and how important it is for you this year (meaning, the year that Jupiter is in Virgo) — and I’m here with this topic once again. If you’ve found this to have some appeal, or if I’m saying something you already know, this is the weekend to connect with your mission. True, you’ll have others in the coming seasons, but few so effective as this particular moment. Remember that writing is a craft, much like carpentry. It is day-to-day, hour-to-hour work, and it can be great fun. Your raw materials are ideas, observations and personalities. If you’re not especially experienced with writing-as-craft, start with a small project, designed with a purpose, that you complete. Then move on to the next. If you are experienced, you’re ready for something more ambitious. You might start with a one-page treatment of your concept, and get started gathering or building your basic elements — character sketches, dialog or taking some research up one level into readable form. Meanwhile, as for your physical world, this is a great weekend to stay close to home and see what you discover and who you meet. You could not have a better time in Paris, London, Moscow or Mozambique, unless of course you already live there.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015 #1069 | By Eric Francis

Sunday’s eclipse of the Moon in the angle of your chart associated with achievement and reputation seems to have put you on the map. Now that you’ve arrived there safely, you have some choices to make about where you want to go. The important thing is that you’re in the right territory, which means doing something you want to do, and having that be visible to others. One significant theme of the next year-plus is how you project yourself through your work. Of all the signs in the zodiac, your chart is most naturally set up not for doing your mission, but rather for being your mission. At your best, you don’t identify with your work or project yourself into it. Rather, it becomes you and you become it; you are one and the same as your mission. As time goes on you will do this ever more boldly. As you gain confidence you will learn the moves to shake up both yourself and the world around you with genuine innovation. Follow what resonates; follow what you love — that is, move in the direction of fun.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for October 2015 #1068 | By Eric Francis

The developing theme of your charts is about writing, which is great if you consider yourself a writer. Under that scenario, the next year of your life can be a bonanza of collecting on long-delayed ideas, stories you’ve been brewing, or projects that have needed that extra burst of energy or resources to make them happen. I would remind you that there is a confidence issue you’re working with — and it’s one that you’re finally in a position to work out. Seen one way, I’m talking about having faith in yourself. But there is a practical element involved. Confidence is the elusive state of mind where you align your motivation, your abilities and a specific idea that you want to express. The keyword is specific. Specific as opposed to generic, vague, foggy or uncertain. Work with focus and precision on the idea, or element of an idea, that you’re developing. Give it time and patience. Work with the past and not against it. I would remind you that, though you may not fancy yourself a writer or even an idea person, the digital environment has swallowed us all like high tide at the Bay of Fundy. We walk, breathe and swim in a universe of ideas, of words, of images and of communication. To be a massage therapist you must be your own publicist. Ride with that tide.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015 #1067 | By Eric Francis

One theme of your life over many recent years has been leveling the playing field. You are learning to see people as your equals, which means first and foremost not being intimidated by them. This whole intimidation thing involves people not having made the transition into adulthood; therefore they tend to walk around in the world expecting everyone to be some sort of parent figure. People like to think of one another as equals, but parent-child-type interactions still dominate the world of supposed adults. Aspects over the next few days and weeks will call your attention to the quality of these exchanges. Your job is to see them for what they are. This will, in turn, help you recognize the ways in which you still may be under the psychological shadow of your parents. This is simply not helpful to anyone, and the sooner you either begin dealing with this or finish a job well underway, the happier you will be. The truth is people really do want to look at others on level ground; just about everyone is desperately craving being an adult in a world among other adults. Get clear and set the example.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015 #1066 | By Eric Francis

The written word — it was and remains vital for the advance of humanity and of society, and it is vital for you, your happiness, your growth and your evolutionary journey. It always has been, though now this comes into focus with new meaning, even urgency. In exploring your ideas in writing, you will discover how much you have to say. You will enter a new world of ideas that transports you beyond the reality that you now know. This will help guide you into a new existence. I suggest you describe your reality, describe what you want, and describe who you are and who you want to be. You can say what you need to say to anyone — this would be an excellent time. The feeling you’re looking for is the sensation that both writing, and sharing your writing, bring you to a point of no return. When you get near that sensation of ‘oh my god I can’t believe I’m saying this’, you know you’re heading the right way — so keep writing. I suggest you not appease yourself with the idea that nobody has to see your words. Rather, take the opposite approach — in sharing my personal truth, I make it real.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 #1065 | By Eric Francis

You can now focus an idea or a project that has seemed difficult to condense into some tangible form. It’s likely that whatever form this ends up becoming — be it imagery, music, a novel, an art installation — it will start with writing. Begin by describing what has seemed ethereal or challenging to describe. See if you can convey the feeling and the central concept. Note, this may not directly involve a creative project; it may involve a change you want to make in your life, or your environment. The more clearly you relate the basic elements and focus your desire for a specific outcome, the more attainable it will seem. Any feelings that something is impossible to create are likely the result of lack of clarity about what it is. So think of this process as being about getting clear, and then concentrating something in cohesive mental form — that is, a description. Once you get past any initial awkwardness, it will be easy to refine and modify your verbal sketch, adding additional detail; as you do, the methods will come into focus.

Monthly Horoscope for Sept. 2015, #1064 | By Eric Francis

Most people make the majority of their decisions on emotional grounds. They do what they think feels right; that allows for a diversity of unwholesome motives to enter the environment. It’s essential now that you do what is right, rather than what temporarily seems to feel right. Open your mind to embrace all of the facts, and the viewpoint of every person who has a stake in whatever decision you have to make. Ultimately you must do right by yourself, and you have the choice to ignore the interests of everyone else. I would propose, however, that it’s entirely in your interest to make sure you understand where everyone else is coming from. For one thing, their feelings are likely to reflect something that’s true for you, which you may not have considered. For another, there is a diversity of common interests involved, and you’re in a position to honor the greatest good for all concerned. There is actually such a thing, especially for you now, and the only way you’re going to get there is to observe the facts and take the known data into account. There is one situation underlying everything in your environment: the emotional needs that everyone has in common. On some level everyone is longing for their mother, perhaps the mother they never had. If you remember that, it will be easier to figure out what to do.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015 #1063 | By Eric Francis

Events this week may take you past a personal limitation you’ve felt, particularly one involving your privacy. Or rather, your perception of what is to be private and what is to be public. I would propose here that these are merely mental concepts, since eventually, everything is known. For you the question is: do you harness more energy by trying to seal up and sequester your personal truths, or by revealing them? Think of the region of your psyche that contains what you might conceal or reveal a battery, full of energy. You get to use that energy any way you want, though you can only tap into it if you’re real with yourself and with others. To put it in somewhat hokey (but no less true) New Agey terms, your truth is your power, and you get to use it any way you want. Any form of accessing one’s true power requires at least a moment of daring, as it well should. You’re now being invited to do just that. Remember, if you ever get stuck, opening up a little goes a long way — and opening up a lot can go even further.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015 #1062 | By Eric Francis

Jupiter’s ingress into Virgo is an invitation to write the thing you’ve always wanted to write. True, not everyone is a writer, but just about everyone has some project lurking around the back of their mind that they want to focus and get onto paper. This may involve a skill you want to preserve, such as to share it with others, now or in the future. You may have already started this project, and if you have, take advantage of that and be undeterred by the fact that you have not completed it in the past. If you’re feeling judgmental of your work, get over that fast (and perhaps remind yourself of all the manuscripts rescued from trash cans and fireplaces that went on to great acclaim). Among the many people you know, you set the example of devotion to knowledge for its own sake. But you have the added advantage of ideas being the basis of community, by which I mean local, physical, nourishing community. If you’re looking for a way to get down from the high-wire act or tin-can-with-strings conversation of the Internet, speak about real things with real people, face to face, where you live.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015 #1061 | By Len Wallick

You are not a machine. Do not be unrealistic in expectations of yourself. You are a unique and exceptional human being, not a human doing. You have intrinsically human qualities that make you special and worthy of receiving all the love you have to offer and then some. Yes, you should allow yourself to be inspired by others in setting (or resetting) your aspirations. Even so, it will do you no good in the long run to cultivate ambitions through which you pretend to be something or somebody other than your best and most authentic self. Since this appears to be a time to redefine (or at least refine) your mission while also remembering who and what you are, be realistic. Look back no further than four or five weeks. If you can manage to recall and apply only your most recent experiences and the lessons learned, you will have (and be) enough to get further ahead without getting lost.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, July 30, 2015 #1060 | By Eric Francis

Friday’s Full Moon in Aquarius streaks across the resources angle of your chart — that is, your personal resources (Sun in Leo) and those that you share (Moon in Aquarius). It would be easy for you to overextend yourself. Therefore, even though you’re probably in a state of relative abundance, I suggest you conserve what you have, and more to the point, put it to work for yourself. Others are not as needy as they seem, or as they make themselves out to be. You on the other hand are both resourceful and generous with your resources. So take care of yourself, and as a general guide, take care of those who take care of you. If others invest in you, return the favor. But keep this all as close to home as you can. You are likely to have a diversity of needs and desires of your own that you have not attended to lately, and this would be a fine time to do so. Yes, you may seem to be under some pressure, which is the nature of the Full Moon. Clean sheets, a bath and a meal you cook for yourself will go a long way.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for August 2015, #1059 | By Eric Francis

It’s time to consider how resourceful you are. By that I mean how actually resourceful you really are. Monetary resources are often extolled and valued at the expense of many other forms of energy, though I’m including money in this statement. Let’s start with all resources; that is, the possibility that everything on Earth, at least potentially, is available for some purpose you might have. Many people have figured this out (various artists, authors, industrialists and others), whether they apply the idea on a large scale or a small one. You are figuring it out now. This involves an evaluation of who (and what) you think you are, and to a real extent, why you’re here. I suggest you think in big and bold strokes. Imagine what you consider your best or most scaled-up potential — and ask if that’s really describing what you feel. Notice how the value you place on yourself is reflected in the world you see. If you’re experiencing your worth as worthy, you will see more of the world as being available to you, like you’re on an equal plane with your environment. If you’re experiencing a contraction or lack of worth, you’re likely to feel like everything is better than you — and even worse, not available. What I suggest is that you take over and mediate this entire process from within yourself; from within your own awareness.

Weekly Horoscope for Wednesday, July 15, 2015 #1058 | By Eric Francis

Wednesday’s stunning New Moon in your birth sign is a reminder that it’s time to live your life your way. You can afford to take this a few shades beyond what you might normally think of as your personal prerogative. It’s true that you have considerable responsibilities, though you’ve come a long way in your ability to fulfill them in style. Therefore, lean on your talent and your ability a little more than you might, as a way of creating some space for creation and recreation. Indeed, you might consider bringing that creative/recreative viewpoint into everything that you do. There are those times when your work flows, and when your creativity carries the day. If the past two years of your life are an exercise in anything, it’s about how to tap into that quality. It’s a talent of its own, and to get there you have to be willing to take a chance or two. But more than anything you need the willingness to do what must be done, when it must be done, without hesitation.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, July 9th, 2015 #1057 | By Eric Francis

Mercury has entered your sign after spending many weeks in a blind spot in your chart. If you’ve come through the challenges of the past two months with any clarity at all, count yourself fortunate, and give yourself credit for your persistence. You now need to be realistic about every issue, question and subject that seemed to evade your understanding. If you hesitated or struggled for directness, now is the time to be confident and straightforward. Matters of relationship and partnership are building to a head, associated with next week’s New Moon in your sign. You’re in a much stronger position than you may imagine, which means you can afford to take care of your own interests and also be fair and generous with others. As you go through the next week or so, remember this: understate your case, your point of view and your needs. Others are not nearly as powerful as they seem, and you don’t need to give them any undue influence over you. Be true to yourself and you will be true to your entire circumstance.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, July 2nd, 2015 #1056 | By Eric Francis

Mars in your sign is providing you with extra motivation, energy and self-confidence. Even better news is that you can afford to slow down and allow people and opportunities to come to you. In fact it would help significantly if you would harmonize with your own attractive power. It’s true that Mars is assertive, but in the sign Cancer, you can invert that and be a magnet for others. Even if you’re usually the more retreating type, or don’t like to be noticed, you now have the moxie to meet others on your own terms, or some obviously mutual ones. Be grateful that people are approaching you. Find out what they have to offer and what they want, and get some idea about what it means for them to exist. Some interesting, exciting meetings are in the works over the coming days and weeks and I suggest you be open to them, regardless of any other commitments you may have.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for July 2015, #1055 | By Eric Francis

This month and for the next few months, diligently apply yourself to enhancing your income. The key to doing so will be to understand the value of your work, your time and your intelligence, and connecting that with opportunities that seem to be waiting for you. What may surprise you, however, is how direct you need to be to materialize things. By direct, I mean having clear intentions, which you put into clear ideas, and then speak to others directly. This may seem confrontational to you, and in a way any clear transaction is — even if it’s also amicable. I suggest you err on the side of being forward and stating your terms quickly. But this will only work if you’re absolutely self-assured of what you’re doing and its actual worth to others. This you must estimate carefully, and know your facts. Do not guess. Work out your reasoning carefully and be ready to answer questions. You may never need to reveal any background data, though it will boost your confidence to know exactly where you’re coming from. In order to really succeed, your efforts need to be scalable. Part of what you’ll be learning is how to get results that are, at first, in proportion to your efforts, then which exceed your efforts. You may have qualms about the concept of profit; if so, I suggest you let go of them promptly.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, June 18th, 2015 #1054 | By Len Wallick

You may already be more than halfway towards an objective you did not even know you had. Either that, or you are unknowingly well on your way to somewhere you don’t want to go. For your birthday, consider giving yourself the gift of some time to add up what has accumulated for you as a matter of course and habit. The timeframe to look at is at least the last three months, and possibly as long as the last two years. For example, consider whether you have gained or lost some weight, either on your body, in the form of possessions, or even in your influence. If you like what you see happening, apply yourself with conscious intent henceforth. If you see a trend you don’t like, you will have some unconscious motivations to examine and something to turn around. What you learn from your discovery of your unconscious doings will allow you to follow through to intentionally build on — or break with — whatever you have unintentionally started.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, June 11th, 2015 #1053 | By Eric Francis

You seem to be having a crisis of faith in yourself, though at least you know this much. Events over the next few days will go a long way toward demonstrating that you’re capable of accomplishing any goal you define for yourself. Yet that seems to be included in the question — what exactly do you want to achieve? And is what you want even about achievement, or is it about being in the world in a more harmonious way? That would be my educated guess. Having said that, if you’re going to set goals, focus on the five- to 10-year time range. Many factors in your chart are suggesting that you take a much longer, wider view of your life. This would include what you want to be doing, and where you would be doing it — ideally. Don’t worry about what is possible. Dare to describe your life exactly as you would have it be. Then consider how many of those factors are present now. Some of them are, and others are not. Choose one of those visions for yourself and focus on it for a while.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, June 4, 2015 #1052 | By Eric Francis

Don’t let your fears run away with you over the next couple of weeks; be cool, be patient and — remember, as Lou Reed said, you can’t count on the worst always happening (and he added, it takes a busload of faith to get by). So load up your busload of faith and start singing and clapping. Use anxiety as an opportunity to push your limits. Work from the premise that much of the world is in a frantic state, and therefore you can afford to explore some edgy territory. Let this start in your mind but certainly not end there. The purpose of your life right now is achievement and learning how to have an impact. When you look at anyone else who has ever succeeded at making a splash, they did so by exceeding some limit that was put on them, or that they thought they had to abide by. Said another way, success is a kind of uprising against mediocrity; a revolt against bullshit; the drive to do something that hasn’t been done, if only because it seems interesting and like the thing to do. Fortune favors the bold.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, May 28th, 2015 #1051 | By Eric Francis

The only real secrets are the ones we keep from ourselves; once those are acknowledged, it’s easier to be transparent with others. Keeping secrets from oneself is called denial. Notice when you’re doing this and moreover notice when you decide you just don’t like it. Usually that comes along with the revelation that denial is intentional and not some kind of accident. Pay attention when others space out about their own personal truth, or turn to mist in your hands when you try to have a real conversation. One suggestion I have is to pay attention to anger. Rather than judge yourself for it or try to ‘get rid’ of it, think of it as a barometer that gives you an indication of something from your inner or outer environment. Anger may seem like an issue but it’s not the issue — it will, however point you in the direction of what you need to understand.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for June 2015 #1050 | By Eric Francis

Emphasize what works, especially where money is concerned. Over the past few seasons you’ve likely figured out where there are resources to be had, and where they are less likely to turn up. Those are not absolute truths, however. Leave yourself room to experiment. Most of all, make sure you invest most of your time and energy into what you’re the most devoted to. Current aspects so strongly support your finances that if you’re ever going to get a monetary reward from what you love to do the most, now is the time to take that chance. I say this knowing that you may be confronting some deep fears, including how you may have used up a ‘last chance’ of some kind. You may also be questioning your integrity and whether it’s possible to maintain it in your current environment. It’s worth noticing these thoughts going through your mind, in as detached a way as possible. When the Sun and Mars enter your sign later in the month, you’ll see that you were really experiencing a lack of confidence. It will be best to address this by moving forward, taking the most direct route that you can. Remember that confidence leads to success more effectively than success leads to confidence. This is a matter of faith in yourself, which ultimately requires no proof or even evidence of validity.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, May 14th, 2015 #1049 | By Eric Francis

You may encounter some interference between your deepest inner understanding of yourself, and what you’re ‘supposed to be’ in the mind of society. Said another way, your erotic nature may clash with the religious views that you have, that you used to have, or that someone else thinks are right. It’s time to take this debate right to the surface of consciousness, and make a decision about what viewpoint is actually going to work for you: actual self-understanding and self-acceptance, or what someone else told you was supposed to be true. If you can skip the moral judgments that fly in the wind like confetti, you will make some real discoveries about who you are. Yet please don’t underestimate the power of moralism and its purpose, which is control. One manifestation of this is how much of what you experience in the depth of your thoughts is supposed to be secret, or is somehow presumed offensive. I would ask you: why is that?

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, May 7th, 2015 #1048 | By Eric Francis

Venus enters your sign Thursday night, right here in the season of Venus — close to Beltane with the Sun in Taurus. This is a personalized message of blessing for you. That might come in the form of some unusual abundance, affection or relief from worry. Just remember, there’s always something to fret over. There’s always something that might go wrong, even though it usually does not. What you need the very most now are positive mental habits. Keep your mind clear of bogs, be they of your own making or due to the infiltration of others. Therefore, be cautious what you take on board, that others say to you or write to you. You are sensitive — that is one of your main assets, but you need a thicker skin. As for your own thoughts, it’s vital that you have some dependable reality checkpoints now. Those would come in the form of people you absolutely trust to give you feedback about whether what you’re thinking, feeling or planning is realistic.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, April 30th, 2015 #1047 | By Eric Francis

Sex is the word and the deed. The Moon is full in Scorpio this weekend, and for you that’s about an adventure. I recognize that for many people, sex is getting scarier, as what it tends to lead to is a form of intimacy. Remember that sex starts with you, and it comes back to you. There may be others along the circuit — lovers, friends or fantasy partners. If there are, remember that you have something to offer them. You’re a kind of erotic and creative reservoir. You can afford to be generous, and think in terms of the nourishment that you offer to people. Really focus on that, so you see it and understand it. At the same time, pay attention to what’s being asked and expected of you. Pay attention to what you’re being given. Notice how you feel before, during and after any sexual encounter, whether it’s alone or with someone else. It’s up to you to maintain balance in all of the equations of your life, especially this one.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for May 2015 #1046 | By Eric Francis

If you’ve ever wanted to reveal all your secrets to yourself, this is the time. With this I would include deep,
unspeakable desires, which you may find are more easily translated into words over the next few weeks. You may discover that you can see viewpoints that are opposite what you typically hold. This doesn’t mean you’re changing how you feel, but rather that you’re open to considering different perspectives. Notably, you don’t have to share this information with anyone yet. In fact you will be working out a diversity of inner contradictions, and you won’t know for a while where you really stand with yourself. It would probably be better if you kept what you’re working through to yourself, or perhaps only a trusted confidant, at least through the end of Mercury retrograde on June 11. The real gift seems to be getting to the bottom of your anger. This would be especially true if you feel you don’t have any. And it’ll be helpful if you’re aware that you struggle with forgiveness in any way, especially in a world that seems intent on doling out insults and injuries on a regular basis. There’s plenty you can do about this, at least in terms of cultivating your own peace of mind. Understanding really is the most significant precursor to compassion, and within a short time you will understand a lot more than you do today.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, April 16th, 2015 #1045 | By Eric Francis

You may be struggling to stabilize certain elements of your career or professional life. It would, however, help if you thought in terms of your vocation rather than your career. A career is based on a pre-established path that in theory has a distinct beginning, middle and end. A vocation is what you’re called to do, which you do because it’s the thing to do. That’s likely to include some element of confronting what has never been done before, where there are no prefabricated moves and few possibilities to have expectations. Said another way, you’re not a careerist; you’re a pioneer at something. You might want to begin with the possibility that you have a way of opening up new territory in whatever you do. That comes with special challenges. Recognize that and you’re most of the way to rising to the occasion.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, April 9, 2015 #1044 | By Eric Francis

You’ve been making bold moves, experimenting with real decisions and in truth entering new territory in many areas of your life. You seem to be going deeper than ever — and reaching higher than ever. But this rarely goes as expected or planned, so I suggest you work without either expectations or plans. Rather, keep your mind on a vision, on something you’re aspiring to, and let it be something unusual. There is a theme of taking authority by subverting some custom or idea of culture. It’s as if you’re determined to do something your own way, and make it work in a way greater than anyone would expect. You can do this, though you have to be clever, and you have to pay attention to your environment. One of the operative factors is your reputation. This is a tool you can work with. The chances are you are known for something unusual, or you have some special achievements to your credit. Play them up and make sure you do everything you can to stand up and stand out.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, April 2, 2015 #1043 | By Eric Francis

What is your concept of home? What is your concept of secure? To the extent that involves a relationship, you may need to rethink your approach. In truth, safe is not what will help you feel safe and secure is not what will help you feel secure. It would seem that you’re challenging yourself to live outside of your past notions of what made you feel grounded. That, in turn, may be somewhat troubling because your sign is known for its needing grounding and security. But if you seek that in a relationship, you’re seeking in a place that is one of the least dependable, because relationships change so often. Which leads to this weekend’s eclipse. You just might benefit from exploring the aspects of relationship that are anything but secure in the conventional sense. Where you will feel the most natural and the most at home is in the realm of ‘forever changes’. It does indeed.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for April 2015 #1042 | By Eric Francis

Your professional life is going through an accelerator that you have long suspected was going to kick in at some point, and you may be surprised at how far beyond your own expectations developments in your life take you this month. You will need to influence the flow of your life with some care and subtlety, by applying a conscious strategy. While you’re doing this, the place to invest your energy is into your home. Your home is your grounding; it’s your source of strength and the place where you seek inner harmony. Take advantage of this gift that you have. Keep your living space clean and spend as much time there as you can. Take some tangible measures to improve or beautify your environment. If you find yourself in an unusually ambitious phase, this will help you keep your life in balance. Get enough rest. Nurture yourself to the point where your old insecurities start to seem trivial. This kind of emotional self-care will foster better decisions, but more than that, the appreciation of your success. It’s true that you may feel, at times, like you’re playing a fast game or traveling above the speed limit. It’s vital that you take many conscious moments each day and remind yourself that you have created a life that is well worth living — and live.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, March 19, 2015 #1041 | By Eric Francis

Friday’s total solar eclipse moves across the top of your solar chart like thunder, lightning and the drive for achievement. Take the ride. Appreciate the forces of nature with your heart and mind wide open. This is a moment when those forces are working in your favor, though I recognize this may feel a bit daunting. Yes, there’s a good reason for that. Any wind that can push a ship across the ocean can also do serious damage. Any feat of engineering that can loft an airplane or raise a structure can also fail or go out of control. That’s the chance you get to take, and it’s a privilege. It’s worth the reminder that achievement of any kind requires taking risks, and the more you want to accomplish the more risk you will need to take. But here is a clue: it will all feel more daunting than it is. Modest chances honestly taken can open up some far-reaching possibilities.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, March 12, 2015 #1040 | By Eric Francis

This is certainly an ambitious and adventurous time in your life — one where many accomplishments seem not just possible but inevitable. So keep doing whatever you’re doing, and be bold about it. At the same time, a new level of depth and intrigue have entered both your erotic relationships and your creative expression. If you have not noticed that yet, you’re likely to soon. One thing I would remind you of is the power of Eros and art to transmute darkness and shadow. I don’t mean to say that this is possible but rather that it’s essential and necessary. I recognize that most people are deeply distrustful of their sexuality and their creativity. You don’t have that luxury. You have a magnificent opportunity to unravel that over the next few days, and it will begin with taking the risk of speaking from your heart and soul, which would start with speaking your mind.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, March 5, 2015 #1039 | By Len Wallick

You have no doubt grown in the eyes of at least some others this year. Your sphere of influence has almost certainly expanded in proportion to how you have manifested yourself. To continue on what appears to be a fast track toward evolutionary leaps and bounds, you must first eschew any practice that would subtly sabotage the solid steps you have made not to be taken for granted any longer. Be present to the fact that no longer taking yourself for granted is the foundation upon which you can build not only a better reputation, but also a better life than any previously imagined. Also, please appreciate those who not only express their appreciation, but also look up to you in order to better understand betterment. — by Len Wallick

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015 #1038 | By Len Wallick

You may have either experienced or exemplified extreme ends of a broad spectrum in recent months. If that’s true for you, the most useful takeaway is probably a hard-earned wisdom that the truth and/or best consequences are usually to be found somewhere in between. On the other hand, if you have kept to the middle road for a while, it just might be time to get your freak on somehow. Should you choose to accept what might seem like an impossible mission to explore the edge, try getting started by picking one of your boundaries and pushing it. Who knows? You might realize an impossible dream. — by Len Wallick

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for March 2015 #1037 | By Eric Francis

Your visions of the future may be flooding you right now, though it’s essential that you work from the practical side of things. Stick to the matters at hand, and the methods you trust, and make progress in small ways. They are not as small as you think, because each gesture of progress will help you gather your momentum toward some much larger encounter. The key seems to be one thing at a time. One sentence, one line of code, one photograph, one conversation. Let each of these be born with the sensation of contributing to the next. Be especially attentive to details, even if that takes a while. Those details might include color, feeling tone, precision in mathematics and the quality of what you say. Use your senses. Look and listen, and treat everything you touch with the care of a craftsman. As you do this, you may discover that you are working under the guidance of inspiration. Seemingly unrelated activities will emerge as part of a larger constellation. But don’t look for the pattern! Let it reveal itself to you. You know you are edging in the direction of fulfilling some of your most significant goals, and embarking on some new ones. By its nature and the scenes depicted in the stars and planets, this is a mysterious process, and that is part of the fun.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 #1036 | By Eric Francis

The Sun ingresses Pisces this week, after a spectacular New Moon in Aquarius. You can think of this as a reminder to keep your commitments to yourself. The promises you make to others are something that you take seriously. Part of what makes you who you are is that you strive to be true to your word. What may be preventing you from honoring your own agenda is some experience of commitment with someone else. Because of the depth of your involvement, this may not be a matter of cutting your ties and moving on. You might think of it as a matter of balance, though it looks more like integrating some of your desires into your life in a more holistic way. This is a pattern where everything supports everything else, rather than detracts. If you take careful and conscious steps, you can accomplish this.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015 #1035 | By Eric Francis

Even if you’re not the spiritual type (which you probably are), I suggest you send some energy in that direction. Use whatever tools or resources you have. Consider ways that meditation or contact with your higher power have brought some result in the past. Tune into the feeling that was involved; for you, the unseen realm has a specific sensation or tone that confirms you’re on that wavelength. This is likely to feel exceptionally positive, loving and potentially erotic. Yet that last attribute can have the odd sensation of sexual one way you look at it, but not exactly sexual the other way you look at it. There are indeed two distinct facets to this, and you’re free to choose either one at any time. The only thing you’d need to do is be aware that the other one exists concurrently. There’s an important metaphysical formula here.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 #1034 | By Eric Francis

Your astrology is pulsating with sex and art right now, and it’s coming to a boil right on the hotspot of your cosmic stove. In astrology there is one house that combines experimentation, daring, creativity, passion and teenage-styled curiosity — and that is where the action is for you. For your purposes there is very little difference between these things, though I would invite you to seek out what you want in the form you want it most. I suggest you touch on as many of those 5th house attributes as you can, with the emphasis on curiosity and daring. If you swim out into some deep water, you will have all the more fun. The creativity piece is about doing something you’ve never done before, or in a way you’ve never done it before. Treat the whole world and all your experiences as surfaces to paint on, and then watch and feel the colors burst into cosmic fire.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for February, 2015 #1033 | By Eric Francis

Pay attention to your various transactions, be they monetary, sexual, social, barter or business. There is a lot of movement going on in the house of your chart associated with all of these things. While you might get the feeling that you are vulnerable to some kind of exposure, what you may really be feeling is a mental or psychic penetrating power that you have into the affairs of others. Using this gift properly is not about minding their business, it’s about minding yours. Knowing the mental state and the intentions of the people around you is vital to your success. That awareness is in itself a form of currency, and it will be worth considerably more the more comfortable you feel with yourself. Another useful thing to remember is the extent to which you’re not actually driven by money. You like money — it’s good for things like food, heat, warm boots and helping people. But that’s different from being driven by it. The thing to remember is that other people may indeed be motivated specifically by monetary impulses, and you are in a rather priceless teaching moment where you get to demonstrate through some simple gestures that there is something much more important, useful and beautiful. That would be actually caring; offering your energy for some inherent purpose; and acting as if to hold the world together.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015 #1032 | By Eric Francis

Keep a keen eye on financial and business matters. You’re in a more powerful position than you think, though as always where transactions, partnerships and shared resources are concerned, you must be alert, detail-oriented and as shrewd as you can muster up. If you have investments, keep an eye on them. If you’re interested in new investments, make sure you take care of the ‘due diligence’ thing, which I suggest you stretch out at least until Mercury stations direct on Feb. 11. During that time, I suggest you allocate cash only to basic necessities or operations costs and minimize other exposures. As you do this, you will learn a lot about your own finances, how you do business and the ways you can make decisions that give you a considerable advantage. This really is a scenario where knowledge is power.

Weekly Horoscope for Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 #1031 | By Eric Francis

Take care of business and never mind the slings and arrows. They are merely conceptual, the approximate equivalent of mental static, though they may be convincing at times. Never mind the porno spam. You know the emails you write and get from your friends are much more interesting. Yet even better is the prospect of actual intimate contact with others, and that looks like a real possibility if you choose to stay in the company of people who have the word ‘yes’ in their vocabulary. I’m aware that ‘yes’ is considered to be everything from dangerous to immoral to un-politically correct. What that whole point of view ignores is that without yes, nobody and nothing go anywhere. You definitely have some people and places on your agenda. Remember who, remember where, and be available.

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for January 2015, #1030 | By Eric Francis

It’s simply not true, as you often believe, that others are stronger than you, or more persistent. They may however be more inclined to use force, and you are especially sensitive to that. You also expect people to be connected to their feelings in a way similar to yourself, though that rarely turns out to be true. I suggest that if you find yourself provoked into any kind of confrontation, wait for a few days before responding. Pause, listen and observe. Most of all, feel. The situation is not what it seems, and anyone who is acting up or dramatizing something is likely feeling as if they have no power (which is not true, and don’t fall for it). For you, the message can be an affirmation of your own strength, and your power of faith. The sign Cancer is famous for its cycles, owing to your close connection to the Moon. Now you get a chance to hold steady (as a general rule, it would be wise to wait one month before making up your mind about anything). Once the early drama sorts itself out, it will be clear who owes what to whom. Said another way, someone in fact has a debt to you, and once that becomes obvious, it will be clear that some form of payment or at least acknowledgement is due. In the end, however, that transaction must be voluntary.
