Today’s Oracle takes us to the Aries weekly for March 22, 2018.

Mercury stations retrograde in your sign today, just as a powerful aspect approaches between the Sun and your ruler Mars. This might feel like conflicting messages; though it needn’t if you take the long view, and recognize that the spotlight currently on you is no transitory beam. You are laying the foundation for lasting progress. From that perspective, a few weeks at a relatively slower pace is at worst a minor blip. It can actually be far more advantageous: this retrograde phase appears to represent the wisdom of listening; specifically, how one can gain invaluable information by doing so. If you feel called to widen your awareness and offer your highly advanced sense of responsibility to a larger community than the one you typically work within — or to devote yourself more fully to the community you are a part of — be assured that such a choice would fulfill a deep need that has been growing in recent weeks, and longer. You are likely to sense some huge threshold approaching, the sense of opening up both to yourself and to people, and to a new depth of feeling. But at this point there are no words that can easily describe what that shift will actually feel like or look like. As Venus makes its conjunction to Uranus on the 28th while moving into Pisces, it’s safe to say that you’ll be on special assignment in a world that needs full access to your intelligence and compassion. Remember to keep some for yourself.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Libra weekly for February 5, 2010.

One of the great obvious mysteries is what sexual experience has to do with creative experience. The simple way to explain it is they wake one another up. Sex creates more than babies; it creates awareness. Art creates consciousness, not just works on paper. What they both have in common is that they require a willingness not only to have life be ‘nice’ but to delve into a world of light and dark, fear and passion. Both sex and art involve transmuting taboo emotions into something that is creative or pleasurable. If that is the working concept, then you can regard all feelings as healthy, normal or acceptable. Most pain comes from judging feelings; it’s one thing to feel shame and it’s another to say it’s bad. Or pleasure; or love; or the craving for emotional freedom that would open the way to any or all of them.

Look beneath your tendency to vacillate and you will actually see that the insecurities from which you suffer have very little to do with you. Donate them to the local thrift shop, so that this way someone with far less wholesome intentions than yourself may pick up a dose of healthy doubt.

Mercury plodding through Capricorn is making certain matters seem more complicated than they are, and accentuating the sense that to gain anything you have to give up something important to you. In truth, you’re at a major breakthrough point on a financial matter, and you have every reason to relax into the fact that you have succeeded against some very stiff odds. If I may propose, something else is bothering you. It’s as if you’re attempting to work through a block of some kind, and to do the work, the block has to be nailed to the floor. Instead, it keeps sliding around. You will, soon enough, grab hold of it.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Libra monthly for November 29, 2013.

Events of this month can serve either as a hologram or miniature model for what you can do with yourself during the coming year or, alternately, as an example of what you do not want. There’s likely to be some mix of the two, though I am inclined to think that you are about to discover the benefits of actually asserting yourself. I suggest you do this in your own style (well, that’s always what you do) but don’t let the concept of style include any form of passivity, compromise before the conversation, or getting snagged up in your contemplation/indecision thing. The idea here is to be bold and take a chance. This is where what I will call the reverb factor comes in. When you assert yourself, you’re likely to get a little echo back, in the form of some disapproval from someone. This verges on being a universal phenomenon, and it’s a potential stumbling point for those at a new phase of experimenting with their will and influence. The problem is that it’s enough to keep most people in their shell, silencing their opinions or otherwise refusing to ruffle feathers. Yet overcoming this seems to be the whole point of your astrology this month, and the phenomenon lasts well into next summer. Start the ruffling now and you’ll get some valuable practice.
