Never a dull moment, huh? I trust, at least, that a touch of normalcy or at least a slower pace has returned to your personal life. We could all use a little break; and there have been few to be had, though there was a distinct pressure drop in the days after last week’s long-anticipated eclipse.
Over the weekend, Mercury and the Sun formed their interior conjunction, marking the halfway point of Mercury retrograde. Right now, Mercury is where the action is. As I mentioned in Thursday’s edition, Mercury makes a series of moves on the way to stationing direct on Sept. 5.
If astrology means anything, this will stir up a whole new frenzy in national affairs, which people are taking on a rather personal level these days.
This includes the grand total of zero Planet Waves readers who show up to white supremacy marches, and others who show up at the gleeful counter-protests that are the real gift of the current political moment.
I’ll cover this in more detail in Tuesday’s Planet Waves FM.
On the personal level, the astrology describes the possibility of feeling stuck in past patterns, including anger; this is an illusion of Mercury retrograde, which is about to be conjunct Transpluto (narrowness) and then Mars.
Anger is the elephant in the room. We give it many different names, and dress it up in different issues, which can all feel righteous one way or another. It’s still just anger. Coming along with it is plenty of the usual (or excess) guilt, which is just resentment directed inwardly. Said another way, guilt is a form of repressed rage directed at oneself. It has nothing to do with the alleged thing about which one feels guilty; that’s a ruse.
So where this is all headed — that is, astrology up to Mercury direct and the Full Moon, a bit more than a week from now — is some kind of eruption of toxic emotion that we as individuals can let go of. The problem with this is that once someone is free of these feelings, the only next option is to move forward with their life. And if that’s too scary, or feels too uncertain, having the same old problems will feel like a comfort zone.
We can learn a lot from our current president. He’s the result of dealing with none of his personal issues. He never had a reason to.
I’ll be back with more on Tuesday. Your weekly horoscope is below.
What about the guru in India, sentenced to prison? 2 million followers, talked (or forced) men into castration to get closer to God, 20 people died protesting his conviction, etc. He’s known as the “Guru of Bling.” Reminds me of Trump and the emotions he elicits from followers. My theory is sort of evolving, but you have this new generation (in the USA) that wants nothing to do with bling, big houses, or fancy cars; and a slightly older generation (but not much older) that regrets the missed opportunities for accumulation of wealth, loss of union jobs, and so on. The article I read last week about the Saros series (wish I had bookmarked it) indicated that Trump is holding up a mirror and reflecting back who we have become. It’s up to us to make the course correction. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-41070764
Found it. Interesting take on the Saros Series. https://medium.com/@DonnaPhilosophica/what-astrologers-see-in-an-eclipse-that-you-dont-57539ee9b290
Patricia – thanks for sharing Donna Woodwell’s article here! Her highlights of Saros Series 145 were really fascinating. And I’ve seen many people, including Eric, discussing the way that Trump is helping our collective shadow to be more visible. The question, of course, is whether we’re all willing to see it that way, and what we each, individually, do in response.
Yes, I think I understood shadow material before, with the way Eric has covered it in the past, but even a caveman could get this explanation. 2024 will either be a blessing, or like a Chinese curse. Since we’re already living in interesting times, I’ll pray for the blessing. 🙂
