Special Comment: The World of the Spirits is With Us

Haumea, named for a Hawai’ian fertility goddess, might be considered the hidden factor in the Uranus-Eris conjunction (the digital age, identity chaos, social upheaval). For many months, slow-moving Haumea has been (and remains) at the opposition point in Libra. She’s hovered quietly opposite the pair for a while, and now Mars is calling attention to her. Once you get past the chaos of Uranus-Eris and of nobody having having a clue who they are, there is a birthing process going on. You might say that includes emergence into the pulse of compassion that beats through the heart of humanity. We can accomplish this much more easily with a conscious maintaining of awareness, and using that as incentive to act and to choose. Tonight, as the world of the spirits seeps into ours, reach into your heart, find that rhythm and dance.

This inspired the ending to a stand-up bit I’m preparing to perform soon. I tried my hand at stand-up a couple years ago, it’s something I’m getting back into. I’ll share it:
…But yeah I kind of take a different approach to dating. It’s a radical approach, not a lot of people do it these days. But what I do, you see, is actually be my self. If you believe in a self, which some people don’t. Some people think we’re all so confused we don’t know who we are. Which would explain why everybody is either having an identity crisis or clinging to an identity like there’s no tomorrow. Which some people don’t believe in by the way; tomorrow. I don’t know how we make it through time, we’re so conflicted with each other. I’m not scared of conflict though. I’ll kill a motherfucker. Joke. I mean, I could, I’ve got that in me. We all do to varying degrees. Even the Buddha himself said “if you see me motherfucker you better kill me!” He knew.
Thank you for this great daily astrology almanac! The Keats lines are wonderful – and inspire me to go back to doing what I love best, bringing out the creativity that many people have locked inside them, or have only partially realised. I’ll put that quote somewhere safe, to possibly use again.
I absolutely loved reading your ghost stories, Eric! As a classic Brit – I grew up in a haunted house. I had some creepy experiences at times – which freaked me out – but it was my mum who was the really psychic one in the family – and saw things the rest of us never saw. Last April, right after her funeral, she appeared to me in the wonderful bouquet I had had made for her – I was on my way back to Italy that morning, and was totally heartbroken about leaving, hugging the enormous vase holding the flowers, which was in the kitchen where she had spent so much of her life. Apart from dreams – she has only appeared to me that one time – and I know that it was because I was in such need of comfort at that moment. Think I’ve probably written about this here before. Good to write about it – thank you.
