“Whatever you proclaim as your identity here in the material realm is also your drag. You are not your religion. You are not your skin color. You are not your gender, your politics, your career, or your marital status. You are none of the superficial things that this world deems important. The real you is the energy force that created the entire universe!”
— RuPaul

It would seem you have a rare opportunity to achieve some significant personal validation at a visceral level. It can take a lot to accept oneself — particularly those deepest emotions and sensations — but approach the matter with the same kindness and understanding you might with any other person. The result may just surprise you.

Whom do you really wish to be, and what kind of a world do you truly want? These are questions we ask ourselves all the time; but Neptune finally crossing the Moon’s South Node today could give you more than just a peek at the answer that’s true for you. In the current circumstances it is perhaps more important than ever not to allow our most sacred ideals to wither. Practice faith and trust in order to bolster yours all you can; and know that you really do have the power to create unspeakable beauty.
“Whom do you really wish to be, and what kind of a world do you truly want?” Gandhi said “be the change you wish to see in the world.” Christians say “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” And we often think…”blah, blah, blah.”
But there is infinite wisdom in these simple statements. Setting aside religion, they represent profound universal spiritual truths that can be tangibly mapped on to your day-to-day life. In that moment when someone swerves into your lane, then gives you a dirty look…do you flip them the bird, or the peace sign? When it’s clear that some jerk is projecting his issues w/women onto you, do you react or respond? The list goes on and on.
Be…how you want others to behave toward you. Do you know what you genuinely value? Are you clear what is genuinely of value? Do you literally create each day FROM what you value? When you do, you are fulfilled, and when you are fulfilled you can come to the day’s challenges “full up,” with plenty of compassion, understanding, and acceptance to spare.
In my work I say, “when you are fulfilled, you can build.” And that’s precisely where we are…at a juncture in history when a tremendous building project lay ahead. BE what you want. Seriously. That will draw what and who you want…to you. If you don’t “be” what you want…how will it find its way to you? When you “be the change you seek in the world,” you will also then know that a little bit each day, you are doing your part to change the world. That’s…empowerment.

Oops, sorry, that got repeated…my laptop sometimes has a mind of its own!
haha – technology, eh?
I have to admit it’s advice I’m finding hard to take right now. I’m watching the horror spectacle unfold, watching the results of prime stupidity and selfishness getting their way, and feeling as if not being angry would be an insult to my intelligence and everyone else’s. It seems almost necessary to feel anger, grief and bitterness — not to mention fear of the potential ramifications.
I say this not to advocate these emotions, but more as a frank statement of where I’m at just now.
