Life goes on in Paris. Last night at the Théâtre du Ront Point, the Gallotta dance company performed their show My Rock, a trip through history of rock ‘n’ roll on a dance “enragé de liberté,” mad with freedom. When I heard Helter Skelter, tears filled my eyes. I thought of the crowd at the Bataclan, and the girl from my first photo class in Paris who went that night, maybe to dance with such abandon. Rock music never felt so intense, so cathartic, so needed.
Paris-based photographer Danielle Voirin travels the world and documents her experiences in photographs. She takes street photography and photojournalism a shade beyond even art, to the level of mysticism. Wow! Dani, thank you for sharing your work and personal stories of the trauma of your city but also its healing. Thank you Paris for continuing to live freely and expressing joyfully and exuberantly expressing Joie de Vie!
Exactly as Pisces Sun said, Dani. Your picture is a magnificent expression of the life force that, like the light, wins through. Thank you.
Presence. Engagement.
Communication. Cooperation.
As our awareness of all that we are
and are yet to be
expands into its fullness,
a resonant moment extends
returning us to the stillness within
where all is already healed.
As flow within a greater flow
as fire within a greater fire
as breath within a greater breath
thus we stand
taking care of ourselves and each other,
each one and all.
Give thanks.

I've often felt a kind of catharsis with the right rock; I am grateful to know that you and others found that last night. As Lizzy said, this expression of life force in the photo is perfect.
