    I love the choice to shoot this critter head-on; I’m not sure I’ve ever thought to try that for a butterfly, but it makes for great lines given the simple, out-of-focus foreground and background.

    I wanted to look him in the eyes and suggest that his short life might be better spent above water. I fished him out of the pool with that little twig he’s perched on.
