Paris-based photographer Danielle Voirin travels the world and documents her experiences in photographs. She takes street photography and photojournalism a shade beyond even art, to the level of mysticism. She sees the world like the living Tarot spread that it is. We’ll be featuring a new photo by Dani each day of the week on the front page of Planet Waves. You may see more of her work on her website DanielleVoirin.com, or her alt website, DaniVoirin.com.

I’ve been looking for more information about Bethune and Ile du Guesclin since seeing this post (beautiful work!) — but my results are limited so far. Can anyone offer more information or stories about them? If I find anything juicy I’ll comment again. <3

Guesclin is a privately-owned island with one house (le Fort du Guesclin) on it, accessible only at low tide. It’s known in France because the singer Léo Ferré lived there in the 60s. Béthune is the current owner’s dog, who at the time I met her was quite lonely. I hear she now has another watch dog working with her.
