Yesterday, I had a revelation about why there is so much energy in our society, and in our individual lives, put into denying, struggling with and resisting what is so plainly a beautiful experience. We don’t just repress pleasure and desire; we also repress the considerable pain we are in about the state of our lives, our past, our relationships, our jobs, and living under constant psychological, financial and emotional stress. If we open up to pleasure, we also open up to all other feelings; so, in general, we hold tend to all of it down as a survival method. But herein lies the secret to sexuality as a healing art. Please, dare to be whole.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Aquarius weekly for July 18, 2016.

Your role as an Aquarian is to love everyone equally. On some level we all know this is the transcendent love that’s both impersonal and intimate. Not everyone would like this experience. Humanity’s taste for jealous love seems to be persistent, though we’ve barely ever been told that basically just loving everyone is possible. If anything, this would seem a phenomenon of soul. To others it might seem cool and indifferent. To others it might seem impossible. Others are in love with the idea of special love, and nothing else counts. Yet you need to be undeterred, and build up that peculiar, singular strength of loving for the sake of love, and remembering that we are all children of the Earth or we are nothing at all. This does not preclude people playing specific roles in your life, and of course you feel something different for your cat or dog, but in that same gesture you love all cats and dogs. It works the same way with people.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Virgo weekly for May 6, 2011.

Now is the time to consider your investments — and any debts you may have — in a new way. Debts, even small ones, can be a significant mental burden for many people, equivalent to the financial burden. It’s the idea of owing money that becomes as difficult as any other part, and that has a way of taking over one’s identity. I suggest devising a way of thinking of any money you owe as something other than who you are. On the other side of the ledger are your investments. What have you put your energy into the past few years? What commitments have you made, and what agreements are you in? Looked at rationally, are you getting a sufficient return on your investments? In what form does that return arrive? There seems to be a question, because your charts speak of both a drive to do something innovative, and a longing for freedom. As you shift your identity from what you owe to what you give, you will get a more authentic idea of who you are.

You know you want to let go. You seem to be holding on as a matter of will, but deeper down you know that what you need to do is let go of all the resistance in your body. This is not about letting go of your commitments, or of your desire for some consistency in your life. Rather, it’s an invitation to honor the truth that life not only involves change, it is based on change. This is true for everything from the development of an individual fetus to the evolution of a species to how we will respond to the biosphere crisis. Perhaps the single most useful, most beautiful and most potent human attribute is adaptation. You don’t want to give up this power; you want to work with it as closely as you can. Change is imminent, and the truth is it can serve you very well, if you participate as its creative partner.

You need to think bigger over the next few days. Most horoscopes are written like the author is talking into a mouse hole. I am writing this one broadcasting from a satellite. Don’t take the “next step” — jump one order of magnitude at least. Take your 10-year plan and turn it into a one-year plan. Let your mind leap to the distant future and see what is happening then, what is necessary and what the culture is going to be doing — and see where you fit in. You have this kind of foresight. The future — and your future — are arriving faster than you might imagine. You have recently been through a spell of seeing what it’s like to be stuck in agreements that no longer serve you. Now you can get the feeling for what you can do when you’re free.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Capricorn weekly for July 22, 2011.

There is an opening in your life that did not exist a month ago, and you can go through that opening and explore an unfamiliar world. This is likely to be in the form of a relationship. It could be a new person, or an experience of someone currently in your life that is ready to open up in a new way. I suggest you let the experience attract you, and draw you toward it — rather than plunging in, not knowing what you’re getting yourself into. Easy does it; this is gentle territory. Stay close to the feeling of what you don’t know; stay close to the subtle curiosity that may be leading you. If you find yourself losing confidence, stay close to your curiosity and treat it like it’s emotional oxygen. Feel the sensation of not knowing, and loving the anticipation of discovery.
