Aries (March 20-April 19) — Use your imagination. It’s all you need. If you can visualize something, you are most of the way to creating it. You may not even need to take that second step, because just considering the possibilities is beautiful. Yet you’re likely to take action, and when you do, make sure you’re focused on what you want the most. Please don’t compromise based on what you think is possible or impossible. Right now all potentials are equally accessible. What you can render in your imagination is just one step away from manifesting in reality, which is why it would be wise of you to stick to what you want to manifest, create or access — then allow that to be real with no guilt. Focusing that one thought will have more healing power than a year of therapy.

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — I suggest you not let a little resistance or seeming obstacle persuade you of anything. Indeed, should you encounter something that seems to be slowing you down, I suggest you just try a little harder. If you focus on what you want to create in your most idealistic concept of life, you will have more strength and motivation to address any practical issues that may arise. Dispense with them efficiently, take care of the basics and move on to what you know matters more. And at the moment, I assure you that pleasure matters a good deal more than business, than profits, than most responsibility. I would, however, maintain some awareness if you are needed to make a spot decision or to resolve a situation that someone brings to your attention. Again, be efficient, check your work and move on.

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — You seem ready to revolt against everything you ever believed that was not true. Remember, though, that this is not merely a mental exercise. What you believe is true or not will directly influence what you choose to do, or not to do; and whether you have faith in yourself. Don’t waste too much time on this. What is not true does not matter; as soon as you deem it so, emphasize what you know is real, or meaningful, or creative. It’s true there may be that side of you wondering what consequences will befall you if you violate someone else’s idea of morality. If that happens, remind yourself that any imposition of morals onto another person is inherently hypocritical. You are the one who decides what is right for you. Claim that ground and use it well.

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — Your astrology is pulsating with sex and art right now, and it’s coming to a boil right on the hotspot of your cosmic stove. In astrology there is one house that combines experimentation, daring, creativity, passion and teenage-styled curiosity — and that is where the action is for you. For your purposes there is very little difference between these things, though I would invite you to seek out what you want in the form you want it most. I suggest you touch on as many of those 5th house attributes as you can, with the emphasis on curiosity and daring. If you swim out into some deep water, you will have all the more fun. The creativity piece is about doing something you’ve never done before, or in a way you’ve never done it before. Treat the whole world and all your experiences as surfaces to paint on, and then watch and feel the colors burst into cosmic fire.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Intimacy takes patience. More than that, it takes being receptive. That, in turn, requires letting go of control and experiencing trust. If you look around at the world we live in, none of these things are well supported by the environment. Even the most relaxed individuals are being conditioned to be control freaks. Patience is in increasingly short supply. And the sensation of being exploited does not lend itself to trust, or to receiving. But your astrology is favoring all of those naturally human qualities right now. It’s as if your own psychic environment is overriding the world around you, and allowing you to suspend all the usual rules. But you will need to take those first steps, slow down a bit, choose to let go of control. Most of all, relax and receive. Yes, this all takes trust. That’s the whole idea.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — You seem to have a lot to do, but really it’s less than you think. With Mercury retrograde, I would suggest a few simple strategies. First, keep a blank pad on your desk. If your desk is your Droid and a seat on the D train, then keep a little notebook with you. First, make a list of several partially done tasks that have been nagging you for several months. Complete three of them and notice how much better you feel. One or more of these is likely to include a purely technical task or some form of system maintenance, such as backing up your disk drive. When you work, be attentive and take safeguards. While you’re completing these old tasks, keep your notebook handy and begin sketching out some future tasks — again, ones you’ve wanted to do for a while. As you sketch, develop a basic strategy for getting started that includes one or two steps you can take straight away.

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — You may be wondering when all the relentless energy is going to relent. It may not, ever — which means the solution is to make choices about your environment that provide you with the kind of space you need for specific tasks. Right now that would appear to be space for what you might think of as ‘creative tasks’ — those involving breaking new ground, exploring, or playing. This may involve clearing a table or your desk and focusing the necessary supplies. However, more significant is mental space, which includes your use of time. Right now in the onrush of digital life, time is organized like walking on a high wire from Point A to Point B — with the seeming risk of falling off. The kind of time you need is organized as a three-dimensional space where you can walk around freely, with no fear of falling, and with minimal scheduling involved. That’s where your best ideas are.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — Your astrology is guiding you in the direction of the exotic, the mystical, and toward a field of experience with a broad horizon. Indeed it’s more than guiding you; there seems to be an irresistible pull toward this wide and beautiful territory. It’s not merely conceptual — it’s physical, actual three-dimensional space as well as an idea. It might be easy to get lost in the fantasy rather than taking the seeming risk of the actual journey to new experience. If you take the journey, leave plenty of room for how it might be different from the idea. Think of the actual experience as an experiment with an unknown outcome. Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Notice who is rubbing up against you, wanting contact with you. Notice, especially, anyone you feel you may not be interested in, but who seems interested in you. There may be some rather excellent potential in such an encounter, though you will miss it if you act as if your mind is made up in advance. It’s too easy to act like you’ve seen it all before. You might also overlook the person if they don’t show up strongly enough on your high-voltage radar. It’s more challenging to slow down, to inquire, to listen, to feel, to notice. And perhaps even more of an emotional risk to allow yourself to feel that someone so beautiful could really be interested in you. Anyone who is might also be just a little intimidated by you as well — it would help if you turned in their direction, and gently closed that little gap.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — Planets are aligning in a way that says: express yourself. Speak, write, pick up the telephone, photograph, sketch. Your direction of travel is inward as well as outward. What you say to anyone you are saying to yourself. How you perceive anyone is a comment on your perception as much as it is on that seemingly separate entity. Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — You might consider saying the one thing you’re holding back. It’s getting in the way of so much else that you have to offer. Whether this is something you have to say to yourself or to someone else, I am not sure; in either circumstance it would require a full inner admission and deep consideration. I just suggest you not stop there, that is, stop short of actually speaking the words to someone who will hear them, or to whom they might matter. Your relationship to yourself and therefore to existence is going through a profound shift. While this has many subtle dimensions, the net effect is so tangible and immediate and real that it’s impossible to miss. You’re not going through a passing phase; you are going through a rite of passage into a new era of your journey.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — You are experiencing two distinct facets of your nature that each seem to be all of who you are. The effect may be rather convincing, as if you have two entities inhabiting your feelings, your senses and your thoughts. These may, in turn, seem to have two different agendas, which may seem to conflict. But do they really? Are there really two of you, or rather are there two or more ways that you tap into something deep and let it out? I suggest you experiment with that approach. Aries (March 20-April 19) — Your role in a group or organization that you’re affiliated with is about to change. So too will the purpose of that group in your life. Developments will occur in a series of events over the coming week, and you’ll want to take them one at a time, and consciously process the information. Each time you learn something, make sure you’re aware there may be one more bit. As you gather the details, you’ll get a better idea of what you need to do, who you can trust and what the purpose of the changes is really about. And if you can avoid it, don’t make firm commitments for what you’re planning to do — rather, take steps to keep your options open. Rather than thinking of this as a ‘final’ decision, feel out your options. By feel I mean sit with, and get the actual feeling of. Slip into that reality for a while and give yourself permission to make that choice. You actually have quite a few more than two choices, and this is not an all-or-nothing circumstance. Many shades of mix and match are possible, and once you begin to move on your plans other possibilities will open up.

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — Keep a keen eye on financial and business matters. You’re in a more powerful position than you think, though as always where transactions, partnerships and shared resources are concerned, you must be alert, detail-oriented and as shrewd as you can muster up. If you have investments, keep an eye on them. If you’re interested in new investments, make sure you take care of the ‘due diligence’ thing, which I suggest you stretch out at least until Mercury stations direct on Feb. 11. During that time, I suggest you allocate cash only to basic necessities or operations costs and minimize other exposures. As you do this, you will learn a lot about your own finances, how you do business and the ways you can make decisions that give you a considerable advantage. This really is a scenario where knowledge is power.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Take extra care to ensure that what people tell you is actually true. However, we live on a planet where for many people, deception is a way of life. Question the obvious, look carefully at what seems unusual and even inquire about what seems perfectly normal. The thing you don’t want to do is let things slide and hope for the best. I’m not suggesting you change your nature and become a suspicious person. However, your trusting nature does not always work in your favor, and it’s often an excuse for slacking a bit and not verifying what people say to you. Sometimes it takes guts to ask a follow-up question, much less ask for documentation. I suggest that you do both, and take various steps to reality check, that is, check your own perceptions. And for a while, hold yourself to the same standards of verification.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — You may not be able to make head or tail of what someone close to you is going through, feeling or becoming, though don’t let that stop you from having fun with the experience. Yes, this is the extra zesty kind, and it’s probably not on the menu. What you may be concerned about is how others will perceive your experience, which is in reality nobody’s business but your own. If privacy means anything, it’s the right to feel and to experience intimacy in the way you choose to. Anyway, the shape of your chart is describing you going against the current of what is popular or considered a matter of common sense. Every factor in your astrology is pushing you to think for yourself, which means having exactly the experiences you want to have, for whatever reason you want to have them.

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — You simply must experiment. Whether this is with art, with ideas or with sex (or better still, all three), a rare combination of factors is taking you into your own personal avant garden. You can go beyond anything ordinary, which seems to be what the planets are conspiring to get you to do. The feeling of doing this is taking a risk. I don’t mean dancing on the edge of the roof. I mean the sensation of going into unknown, strange or unpredictable territory. Allow yourself into that state of mind where you don’t know what will happen next. Then once you’re there, consciously allow anything to happen. You can afford to have some misgivings that you consider and disregard. You are in a contained space; there are natural limits in place. Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — It’s obvious that your ideas about life go well beyond those of your family and very likely your closest friends. They are more concerned with keeping things tidy and organized than they are with discovering what is possible. When I say drawn into, I mean that it’s like you’ve been picked up by a current and are being carried into a place that you know you have in you all the time, but which recently seems to have stirred to life in an unusual way. What you’re feeling is the intensity that comes from inside you, needing no external stimulus. What is coming in from the outside is making things more interesting, adding some flavor and diversity. Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — Be careful with money, and slow down the implementation of your business plans. A short delay now will save long delays later in the year. Take the time to get it right, and to plan your timing carefully. I suggest that with anything of a financial nature — that is to say, involving outlay of cash, unusual use of credit, or new plans for income — go on pause until around Feb. 14. There are some things that may not be able to wait, though if you evaluate them carefully you may find a workaround. Unless there is some kind of absolute, inviolable deadline, explain to others that you’ll be ready to sign or have that paperwork in a few weeks. Where money and commitments are concerned, it pays to honor Mercury retrograde.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — The Sun ingresses your sign in a few days, followed by a rather spectacular New Moon, followed by Mercury stationing retrograde in your sign. That’s a lot of Aquarius and that suggests an unusual degree of activity for you, some unpredictable events, and a new phase of your inner journey. In fact the ‘inner journey’ has been the main theme of your charts for several years, and I suggest that you take a survey of where you’ve gone. Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — Mars in your sign is stoking up your desire to live and to make contact. Mars in the fashion of Pisces is a self-sustaining creative dynamo. Aries (March 20-April 19) — Trying to imagine how others perceive you can be perilous, and you’re almost always wrong. It’s such a waste of time and energy I suggest you skip it, and hang out where you feel good, where you feel welcome and where people willingly make eye contact with you. However, this is a fine time to keep your promises, take extra responsibility for and with the people around you, and hold yourself fully responsible for what you choose. It’s also a great moment to defuse any disagreements in your environment or at least to take the opportunity to ratchet them down rather than ramp them up. Go gently in your environment. The vibe in the air is that of instant karma, so spread peace and love in ways large and small.

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — Leadership can be perilous. When you get to the point of involvement in life where you exceed the limits set by your parents (or where you know you have to), it can be frightening — until it’s not. You look like you’re ready to see not just how far, but how well you can push those limits. All parents set them, consciously or unconsciously, and they end up being the template of how we interact in situations where authority is involved. For you this is about taking a new role in the structure of any group you are involved with. This role depends entirely on your intelligence and creativity; that is the theme. Your breakthrough is figuring out that you’re one of the smartest people in the room and not caring if that offends anyone. A happy day.

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — Be conscious of those with a political agenda. By that I mean anything other than a personal agenda of goodwill and intimacy. However, you face a challenge in discerning this, because you’re likely to either be a bit too harsh or a bit too generous in your evaluation. You need to give people a little time to show their colors, such as a day or two. Listen to what they say and in particular what they prioritize. Notice any tendency to drama — that is usually a political gesture of some sort. Meanwhile be conscious of these things in yourself. There is an undercurrent of tension in the air, and you may have a tendency to act from a sense of injury. The antidote is to stay alert and notice when you feel like you’re being treated unfairly. Right then, wake up.

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — Take care of business and never mind the slings and arrows. They are merely conceptual, the approximate equivalent of mental static, though they may be convincing at times. Never mind the porno spam. You know the emails you write and get from your friends are much more interesting. Yet even better is the prospect of actual intimate contact with others, and that looks like a real possibility if you choose to stay in the company of people who have the word ‘yes’ in their vocabulary. I’m aware that ‘yes’ is considered to be everything from dangerous to immoral to un-politically correct. What that whole point of view ignores is that without yes, nobody and nothing go anywhere. You definitely have some people and places on your agenda. Remember who, remember where, and be available.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Don’t worry about what you’ve decided is impossible. Stick to what you think is possible, even if that’s just a matter of opinion. It’s a particularly meaningful opinion because in many ways it’s the determining factor in the matter. People have done absolutely ridiculous things, under the belief that they could pull it off, even if they would not have tried if they knew what was involved. Also, remember that you can shift something from the ‘impossible’ to the ‘not impossible’ or ‘I’m doing it no matter what’ column at will. It would however help to have that opinion come from the inside rather than trying to convince yourself of anything. There’s plenty to do that you already know you can, you have a thing for stretching your capabilities, and there’s nothing you can do that can’t be done.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — Hold everyone to the truth, starting with yourself. This isn’t as difficult as so many people make it out to be. You see people respond all the time as if reality itself were some kind of mortal enemy to be held at bay, or eliminated when possible. But honesty is not vaguely as uncomfortable as living with the tension and pressure of denial and ignorance. Get things moving by releasing some of your own pressure in this regard — for example, saying what’s been on your mind that you’ve been concerned would have some kind of negative response if you let it out. Consider this a gesture of healing, and of opening the way to even deeper repair of a problem you’ve wanted to solve. What would that be? It involves when you choose to compromise and why.

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — You have been walking a delicate balance, which may feel something like being on the bomb squad. But the explosives you may feel you’re handling have lost their power for years. What they have is a kind of nostalgia, which is what you are dismantling. It’s more like needing space going through someone’s old collection of memorabilia, which is taking up your old basement, and coming across a deactivated souvenir grenade from World War II. It’s worth handling consciously, getting rid of and getting on with your work. But then your discovery gets you thinking about why someone, anyone, would save such a horrid thing. Who would want that? What is the story behind it? As you start to figure it out, you begin having surprisingly deep revelations about your own life and the direction you want to go.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — Your sign is not known for its cool detachment, but it’s a resource you have available right now. This is not the removed distance of not caring; it’s an unusual kind of objectivity caused by being deeply concerned about an issue of justice and wanting the right thing to happen. You know that in order to do that you must remain fair-minded and see the situation in its entirety. You know that you must work with a balanced mind and present both yourself and your ideas that way. The more concerned you are, the more collected and relaxed you will want to be — so calm that it comes through your voice.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Saturn in your sign is placing you in the role of arbiter of reality. You are having to do so in a time when it’s not widely accepted that there even is such a thing. But there has to be for you. There has to be a reference point or orientation — even if there is not a bottom line. So start with a point of orientation, a benchmark or watermark that you can use, at least, as a way of measuring change. It’s the source of heat and light, a space where you can prepare food to nourish your loved ones, and a space to gather. Do this consciously, from moment to moment and day to day, never assuming that it’s someone else’s job. You are the one with the understanding and the capability — that’s why it’s your role.

But you may as well notice what they are, how they feel and the general theme, which seems to be the results of your karma. Well, your karma is a lot better than you think. People who consciously concern themselves with right and wrong, with self-reflection, and with the possibility of denial are usually working on a pretty high level. Taurus (April 19-May 20) — Keep a balance between your outer life and your inner life. This may be just a bit tricky, because there is so much happening in your internal world while the seemingly outer world is inviting you to take action in some bold way. The two are not at odds. Your relationship with the people and events around you is driven by your inner reality. To some extent this is true for everyone, but it’s especially true for you now. I suggest you focus inwardly and make sure you know your priorities. Make sure you’re at peace with yourself, which may mean finding harmony with feeling so driven and passionate. When you express that outwardly, cool it off just a little. Strive for cooperation. Set the example of working with others and distributing the workload. But be the keeper of your vision, and then relate that vision to others in a way they can clearly understand and help you develop.

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — Concern yourself with one thing only — clear agreements. Watch your tendency to be self-sacrificing, which is probably an outgrowth of feeling like you’re the less powerful person in business or joint financial situations. You may notice a tendency to respond to those in power in a rebellious way — I strongly suggest you keep a lid on that. If someone proposes something that makes no sense, ask them for clarification. If something you’re expected to do or to go along with explicitly contradicts your values, then state that in a respectful way. Remember that every person has their own customs, as does every culture. Some of them make absolutely no sense, but are harmless enough. Some are toxic. You must have the maturity to know the difference. And remember never to sign any agreement that you’re not absolutely certain you can fulfill. People sometimes put some crazy things into contracts. Read carefully. Be alert at all times.

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — Plenty is confronting you right now. Unless you find this much action to be totally thrilling, you might just want to crawl into the closet. The thing is, you’re in control. You are in command of your life. I know there’s a long list of gurus who would disagree with that statement. It is of course relative to your circumstances. Suffice it to say you have the power of decision in your hands. Everything coming at you, each thing, is an opportunity. You don’t need to accept all of them or any of them. The important thing is that you actively decide what you want, from among the options that you have. While you’re doing this, I suggest you maintain a high level of self-respect. You are worthy of any opportunity that comes your way. You have the experience and the natural talent to handle it. This is why you must choose carefully.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — You may feel like you have to hold up the sky in a partnership or marriage. Your role is indeed integral to the situation, though leave the work of supporting heaven to the gods. You have plenty of ordinary human work to get done, though you would benefit by applying various techniques of coordination, cooperation and delegation. Yet you need to be the organizing principle, supplying the core intelligence that will get the job done. Think of the delegation of authority as something you give to someone, and then take back when the task is complete. As long as the task is delegated and not complete, you’re still on the hook. Hence follow-through is essential to that ‘core intelligence’ role. So too is structure, and the conscious use of time. Just don’t make the error of feeling like you’re in this alone. There is plenty of support around you; you just need to ask.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — You seem to be in a titanic struggle with your own boundaries. It’s as if some force inside you is trying to break free of every inner constraint you’ve ever lived with, and some outer shell is trying to hold you together, fearing what might happen if you really let go. This is a head-trip. The thing you’re experiencing is a self-concept; an idea about who you are rather than the actual thing you truly are. These ideas can be powerful. We live in the age of self-identification; the whole “I identify as” trip is running at full throttle, and of course, there is an ocean of difference between self-concept and self. It may be an ocean that you’re trying to protect yourself from, because if you open up, you’re going to set sail on the vast sea of experience. This will indeed reveal that any narrow self-identity cannot withstand the uncontainable truth of who you are. If you’re tempted to cling, and notice that it hurts, then feel — and experience.

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — Gee, it looks like you’re expecting company. Or like you’re headed to a family reunion. Or like the family reunion is headed to you. Ok, that doesn’t exactly qualify as spot-on clairvoyance with Kwanzaa, Christmas
and Hanukkah coming up, though it is a fair reading of your chart. That symbolic picture looks like a collection of every relative and ancestor you ever had is sitting at your kitchen table. Not the formal dining room — I mean stuffed into the kitchen, up against the stove, with bread in the oven. It looks like a collection of characters of wit or at least wisdom, including Uncle Ralph with his dirty jokes, cousin Martha who still after all these decades wears a mini skirt in December, and the presence of many people who have sat around that table in years past who are now memories. Even if that gathering does not come to you, then go to it — and bring someone who’s never been among your tribe before. They will notice many things invisible to you.
