To read Genevieve’s horoscopes, it helps to know your Moon sign (where the Moon was at the moment of your birth), which you can find out by entering your birth data into Serennu.com. Often you can still get accurate Moon sign info even if you lack your exact birth time. You can also read these horoscopes for your Sun and rising signs for additional insight.
April’s Libra Full Moon, which is the Moon in Libra lined up with the Sun in Aries (with Earth in between the two), is special for a couple of reasons. The first is that it is also a total lunar eclipse, and should be visible throughout North and South America plus the Pacific Ocean region (including Australia).
Eclipses indicate a phase of pattern setting for the following six to 12 months, so try to give the things you love most your focus and energy around an eclipse. This eclipse also opens the door to the cardinal grand cross, which is the peak of this season’s astrology.
The other reason has to do with how many planets are clustered along the Aries-Libra axis. In Aries, in order of degrees, we have Uranus, Mercury, Eris, Juno, the Sun and the lunar South Node. In Libra, we have retrograde Mars, retrograde Vesta, retrograde Ceres, the Moon and the lunar North Node.
Energetically, that’s a lot of activity in the zones of ‘I am’ (Aries) and ‘relationship’ (Libra); it’s a very polarized energy and signifies a lot of projection.
Simply speaking, it looks like the old TV show Family Feud. Remember that? Members of two different families, lined up on either side of the set, competing against each other. Competition is a Mars theme, but Family Feud was the ‘lite’, humorous version of feuds between families that can go on for generations — the kind that get written up in history books, like the Hatfields and the McCoys.
That theme is present in the Libra Full Moon chart, via the lunar nodes: whatever projection and polarization you experience next week, consider that it may have roots deep in the past — as in generations or past lives. The question you will want to keep asking yourself is: in what ways do you contain a grain of the ‘other’?
That is, how are you more like the things, people and ideas you are trying to distinguish yourself from than different? If you find yourself competing against, battling or resisting something or someone, the struggle may lie closer to home (within) than you’d like to think, if you’re open to seeing it. Once you can see it, the real work — and fun — can begin.
Yours & truly,
Amanda Painter

Libra Full Moon Moonshine Horoscopes | By Genevieve Hathaway
Aries (March 20-April 19) — For some time you have been working out aspects of your relationship with your mother. You’ve healed a few themes that may have looked a lot like emotional abandonment or a lack of emotional availability. As these ideas sifted up through your consciousness you’ve addressed and healed each one, making changes to your emotional framework. Through this process you’ve learned to be your own parent — providing to yourself the things you needed that your mother may not have been able to give you. Now, you are reaching a moment of culmination. This may come with a feeling of arrival, or that you moved through a doorway into a distinctly different sense of ‘you’. Notice how this new approach to relationship influences your close partnerships. You are showing up standing in your personal power, and close partners are responding in kind. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Taurus (April 19-May 20) — Alice Bailey in her book Esoteric Astrology termed the sign Taurus the “fashioners of souls.” By fashioner she was referring to the act of creating, making or molding something. Think of the sign of your Moon as the blacksmith’s forge, the area of the zodiac where things are crafted, shaped and formed through a slow process involving repetition, intentional work and the creative heat of your soul. In this workman’s space, your emotional body is slowly worked, re-worked, and carefully shaped through your experiences. For some time, you have learned about the day-to-day activities and habits that provide you with emotional nourishment. These experiences have shaped your emotional self, providing support and a sense of greater contact with your life. Consciously apply this knowledge to how you spend your time; note the sense that follows of being fully present in your life. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Gemini (May 20-June 21) — You are devoting much time, energy and love to a number of projects. Dividing your attention between these goals may at times feel like you are internally pulled in many directions. I propose an idea — instead of viewing how the projects are different, find the commonalities. Take a step back and look at the larger picture of the ways your current projects and endeavors can support each other. There is more overlap than may initially be apparent. Over the next few weeks, opportunities will present themselves to advance a few of these projects; each progress can also be applied to other plans. You possess plenty of creativity to build bridges between your projects, no matter how seemingly unrelated they are. I suggest applying something you know a lot about — thinking way outside the box. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Cancer (June 21-July 22) — The astrology at the moment is calling you to push through what may feel like an internal barrier or wall. What you have slipped around is an emotional block regarding feeling secure enough to bring complete honesty to your conversations with partners. Remember, there is one genuine discussion you can always have — the one with yourself. I suggest starting there and working outwards to your close partners. Honest discussions with yourself are bringing you into contact with a clear sense of what you truly want, what is right for you, and what your boundaries are. From this position you will be able to communicate with others where you stand in situations and what you need from them. Trust that partners are more interested in learning your needs and views than having you project what you think they want. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Space is held open for you to access ideas that may seem new to you, but are actually very old concepts. This is knowledge passed down through your maternal line — from your great-grandmother to your grandmother to your mother to you, though it may go even further back. Think of this wisdom as an inheritance or legacy you’ve carried. It’s been residing just below the surface of your consciousness, pieces of information slowly rising to the surface as you’ve explored the nooks and crannies of your internal space. Now you are in a moment of putting the pieces of the puzzle together. As you make contact with this information synthesize these old ideas into a new package that is applicable to what you, and those around you, are working through today. Then apply what you now know to your life. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — I suggest noting how jealousy has influenced, and to an extent still impacts, the women in your family. Jealousy is viewed most often as an acceptable emotional response in relationships, when in fact it has a toxic effect that negatively impacts our lives and the lives of those we love. Jealousy between women is played upon and encouraged by the media and larger society, though it only serves to create emotional wounds in both genders. This week’s lunar eclipse is offering healing regarding a few emotional wounds based in jealousy. You are making contact with the ways the thoughts on jealousy you adopted from those around you impacted your sense of feeling good about who you are. Awareness of this material is helping you heal this wound. Ultimately, this process is aiding you in growing a greater sense of self-worth. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — This week’s eclipse is asking you to get clear on who you are in your different types of relationships — in your role as daughter/son, sibling, parent, friend, lover. You have a few different kinds of relationships and partnerships you are part of and your sense of identity can shift depending on the role you are in at the time. At the moment, your sense of ‘you’ is separating from these labeled roles. This can come with the feeling that you have greater distance from your partnerships and relationships. I propose that this is giving you the perspective to see and FEEL who you are as an entity separate from a structure that intimately involves another person. As you develop a strong sense of what it means to be ‘you’, look for partnerships with individuals who can share their own firm sense of who they are. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — Plenty has been going on behind the scenes in your life, even if progress in your exterior life seemed slower than you wished. Think of this moment like a play. Behind the stage many people are running around doing the preparation and making the arrangements for the action on stage to take place. It may take many different off-stage cues, crewmembers and actors to complete their tasks before action switches to the stage. The scene playing out in front of the audience is a polished, complete presentation. This week’s lunar eclipse is the moment when action behind the stage culminates in a situation fully emerging on the stage. What has been in the works in your life for quite some time is now synthesizing into tangible progress, developments that you can use to build the next act of the play. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — I propose that one of your largest contributions to any situation, project or relationship is your ability to be bold. I don’t mean bold in a way that marginalizes or overshadows any other participants; rather, you let your genuine desire and who you are at your very core lead regardless of rules or what others think. This is an attribute that many individuals around you admire, but may have difficulty emulating due to fear, self-doubt or other internal blocks. View yourself as an explorer, paving the way through your attitudes and actions for others to find their own courage to be who they are. Put another way, you are holding space for others to dare to be unabashedly themselves. Think of this as starting your own revolution — one based on authenticity, healthy desire, and an awareness of each person’s inherent value. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — The pace of life may feel like it’s accelerating, as though you slipped through a series of wormholes. Where you end up may not resemble anything like the landscape of where you started — it may not even look like you’re in the same galaxy. Those around you are also experiencing the sense of time speeding up, though how they respond may vary wildly. I suggest not getting distracted by anyone else’s insecurities or attempts to hold on to the way their lives previously were, even a few weeks back. You are making contact with a number of options for what the new layout of your life can look like. These opportunities are not mutually exclusive; rather, they support each other like legs that hold up a table. Hold a vision for them co-existing; creative ideas will arrive, helping you sort out the details. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — Your beliefs have an inherent intellectual and creative potency to shape your life. I’m referring to belief as a tool to channel your desire into your vision for your life. If you run into any blocks in this process, take a look at your mother’s beliefs and how they affected her. Did she feel she had the space to honor what she believed? There is something here about certain attitudes she possessed that were based on insecurities of identity she inherited from her mother. This is a wound passed down through the generations. Run a quick scan of the themes and ideas you are working with, checking for any hints of projected insecurity. Then circle back on what you know to be true — the personal resources you have to draw on, your solid sense of what you genuinely desire from your life, and most importantly, your inherent sense of self-worth. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — You have much in the way of wisdom gained from your experiences and those experiences of your ancestors passed down to you through your maternal and paternal lines. Think of this as an internal database of information you can access through your intuitive or psychic self. At the moment, you are standing in the role of guide to many of your close friends, partners and colleagues. As you share what you know, don’t forget to be your own guide. Hold up your flashlight, burning torch or giant spotlight and illuminate your own way, too. You are reaching a crossroads regarding your desire and how that desire manifests in your life. Start with what nourishes your soul. Trust that you have all the information you need to home in on what fills you with genuine joy and passion. — by Genevieve Hathaway
