Early Sunday morning (in EDT, later Sunday in Europe and the UK) there was a partial eclipse of the Sun in Virgo. This is a delightfully busy chart, hinting at all kinds of things about to happen this week — Saturn changing signs, Saturn square Neptune, Jupiter opposite Neptune, Mercury retrograde — things, as in events and developments, are in motion.
Get ready for a ride and keep your hand on the rudder. No matter what is happening around you, or what is coming up for you, you are the one who guides your vessel. When the waters and other energies are moving this briskly, it’s essential to know where you want to go.
Look in that direction. When the planets are moving this fast, that opens up possibilities and you are likely to have moments when you have the option to choose. Therefore, it helps to know what you want.
The planets we are talking about, which are moving and making contact, are mostly in the transpersonal realm — that is, they address larger social currents, cultural trends, what seems obvious to many people, what appears in the news. The outer planets, the next tier out, are holding their course. We are in the same theater, on the same street. The set, the characters, the story, the audience: all are shifting and shuffling and recombining into new developments.
I will say this again — the Uranus-Pluto square and its sensation of relentless drive is behind us. We will still be seeing manifestations of the square for years, potentially the most interesting ones. I think it’s done its work to put a huge crack in the facade of “neoconservative” bullshit. Or rather, should I say, what is now obvious to the majority of people as BS.
We have come out on the other end with men who suck cock and women who eat pussy being honored in the hallowed halls of the United States Supreme Court. The absurd ban on cannabis is starting to fall apart. That, too, is related to sex, by the way. The only reason that cannabis is illegal, so far as I can tell, is because it makes people imaginative and frisky and inquisitive about one another (nobody blacks out or aspirates). We have yet to fully collect on many gifts of the Uranus-Pluto phase of history.
But — the real drive of Uranus-Pluto is the last great thing and now we are embarking on the next great thing: a time of authentic questioning, of doubt, of realizing that our world has problems that are more important than our personal issues. Global problems it’s worth doing something about. Global problems it’s worth doing something about — even if you see no solution, even if you’re helping set things up for kids who are now one or three or 11 years old to work on in the future.
The shift in emphasis overall is from the cardinal signs to the mutable ones. Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) are good for initiative. The mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) are good for finishing the job; they are good for continuity and devotion to service.
One true fact is that over the next year, and indeed over the next few months, Jupiter will make conjunctions to the Uranus-Pluto conjunctions present in Virgo in the birth charts of a vast swath of the population — those born circa 1962 through 1969. There is a lot of energy under the ground that’s going to be watered, fertilized, and potentially burst into bloom by Jupiter in Virgo.
Meanwhile, the world is still ringing with the energy of this morning’s eclipse. It will be vibrating for days, while a total lunar eclipse on the Aries Point takes shape, as the Sun heads for the mighty equinox and the Moon waxes toward full phase in Aries.
Have fun. Pay attention.
Thank you for this beautiful piece, Eric!
yes!! thanks eric — wowa 🙂
Yes, thank you, Eric! And thanks as well for the amazing Virgo birthday reading. Beautiful, on-point, and a real gift for the times unfolding before us. <3
