Dear Friend and Reader:
Sunday, Nov. 17 is the Taurus Full Moon, exact at 10:16 am EST — and exactly square the centaur planet Nessus in Aquarius. (View full chart here). Genevieve Hathaway has interpreted this lunation for each of the 12 Moon signs in her horoscopes below.

Full Moons are illuminating but can be stressful, as we find ourselves trying to reconcile opposing needs within ourselves, and externally in our relationships. Yet Taurus and Scorpio, opposing signs, share an affinity for material and financial security, emotional security, and the sensual/sexual realm. The two signs just approach what feels good in those areas of life differently: Taurus sometimes gets comfortable to the point of stasis in what it enjoys; Scorpio often lets extreme discomfort fuel regeneration.
Enter Nessus. A centaur planet, Nessus is bringing up some form of shadow, baggage or ancestral patterning for us to recognize and heal, related to the Taurus-Scorpio axis. Nessus speaks of patterns of sexual abuse (or its potential), and indicates we have the power to stop the proverbial buck.
In Aquarius, the abuse is societal — think of the sexual double standards in the media, rampant slut-shaming, online bullying, our culture’s obsession with political sex scandals, and any way your sexuality is used to manipulate your behavior.
Nessus in Aquarius squaring the boldly earthy, lusty, emotionally invested and biologically driven Scorpio Full Moon is pushing us to push back against the corrupted socio-sexual constructs around us. The message is: dare to step out fully in all your sex-positive, body-aware uniqueness.
Notably, this year’s Taurus Full Moon echoes the 2011 Taurus Full Moon (also here), which was also square Nessus. How far have you come since then? If you’ve felt boxed in or ashamed of your sexuality, are you finally ready to claim your full sexual, sensual value?
To read Genevieve’s horoscopes, it helps to know your Moon sign (where the Moon was at the moment of your birth), which you can find out by entering your birth data into Serennu.com. If you know your birth time, that will ensure accuracy — but often you can still be sure of its sign even if the exact degree is fuzzy. You can also read these horoscopes for your Sun and rising signs for additional insight.

Aries (March 20-April 19) — You may be feeling a strong pull toward establishing a greater feeling of emotional and financial security in your life. You are looking for a platform for the risks you take, a platform that you know will always be there to help you launch. I propose that this is not any kind of security blanket, rather a desire for genuine knowledge of personal resources at your disposal. These resources are what you can draw on to help you navigate any situation and reach the end result you envision. As you take stock of these skills, talents and knowledge that make up your resources tool belt, I suggest also considering those things that others come to you for. You will find a few skills that will be particularly useful navigating future situations. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Taurus (April 19-May 20) — The past few weeks have brought a pair of eclipses and Mercury stationing retrograde and then direct. This powerful astrology may have felt like moving through a series of important realizations about who you are at your most authentic core. During this time you have learned much about yourself and your deepest needs in terms of your relationships. As the Full Moon takes place this week in your Moon sign, an opportunity is presenting itself to apply what you’ve learned to the structure of your relationships. Instead of focusing on what to change in terms of the dynamic with a partner, focus your energy into making sure each of your decisions and actions is based on who you are. Think of this as living in integrity with yourself. As you make these shifts, your relationships will shift, too. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Gemini (May 20-June 21) — For a while, you’ve been doing a lot of emotional healing regarding an inner block or wound from a religious philosophy you encountered early in your life. This wound surrounds the denial of sexual identity as a healthy, important part of who you are. Tension is building now to push you past this internal block. As you do, you will make contact with your spiritual self in a new way. The part of you that is connected with what can be considered ‘otherworldly’ — your soul, your psychic self — will feel more tangible and solid than it has in a while, like something you can hold and show to others. As you work with a more solid form of your psychic self, notice how much clarity you gain from listening to your intuition. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Cancer (June 21-July 22) — A few opportunities are developing for you now. These situations may feel like they are stretching you further than you can go. I propose an idea: you won’t know your true limits until you test them. I don’t mean this in a combative way; rather, you have more stretch in you than you may think. Often limitations are things we place on ourselves because someone else draws the line in the sand for us. By pushing up to those limits and then testing them, you’ll be able to see where the boundaries of what you can do truly lie. As you expand what you think of as possible, individuals who share your vision will help push you to grow beyond previously held limits. What you are discovering through this process is your own potential to define what is possible in your life. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Growing up, a person of authority likely showed you through their words or actions that you should not have pride in what you create and contribute in your career. I’m not talking about being overly confident or prideful in your creativity and what you produce; rather, feeling good about what you are contributing and building. Recently, you’ve been breaking down this internal block and moving beyond it to relate to your creativity and what you produce in a new way. As you make this shift, take note of how you feel about who you are. Much of your sense of self-worth is tied up in your creativity and how you are presenting that creativity to the larger world. Feeling good about the products you are building and how you contribute to that process directly translates to how you feel about being you. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — You are working with a few new ideas. Much in the way of information became available to you over the past few weeks, and some of these new concepts challenged a long-held belief — one that went back generations. You are in a moment of realizing how this old way of thinking led to the belief that to gain acceptance you had to live up to very high standards, what many may call perfection. As you consider other ways to approach what you require of yourself, let how you feel about each idea guide you. Feeling good and an inner sensation of calm are clues that a concept matches with your own genuine boundaries and personal requirements. What you are making contact with is how it feels to stand in your own personal authority regarding the standards you hold yourself to. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — At the moment, you may be working through a few situations that may feel limiting. I suggest taking the longer view of seeing them as opportunities rather than hindrances. You are learning to stand in your own power and exert your authority over your life. This can come with a feeling of being constricted, and a necessary push back against previous authority figures, structures and institutions. What you are taking back is the power to be the one who sets the limits and boundaries. As part of this process, you are moving past a few internal blocks that prevented you from standing in your authority. Part of doing so means owning that your personal needs must be met. Those needs in turn inform the boundaries that you set and hold others to. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — An emotional resistance you’ve kept up for a while in your closest partnerships is melting away. This could bring sensations of vulnerability or intensity. You are experiencing a level of honest emotional depth that you may not have touched for a long time. As each new emotion comes up get to know it — walk around the feeling, examining it from all sides. If these sensations seem too uncomfortable to live in, or feel like you are too exposed, I suggest not viewing them as something to get rid of. Instead, I propose taking the approach that you are in fact stronger for knowing the emotions. As you get familiar with them, share them with a close partner. Trust that those around you are up to the task of supporting you, strong emotions and all. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Right now we are living with very busy astrology that can come with the feeling that everything is changing and demanding us to meet it head on all at once. You may feel like you are consistently being pulled in too many directions. I suggest prioritizing your routine each day. Working from what is most important — in terms of where you wish to move your life — will help you stay focused on your vision. As you continue to move closer to your goals, be very discerning about what you say ‘yes’ to. You have a finite amount of time and energy; channel it into your highest goals. For some time you may have to continue to turn down projects that don’t quite align with your vision. This will clear up more resources to move you closer to what you most wish to achieve. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — You are working with plenty of insight regarding which direction to move with a creative project. It may feel like it’s taken you a while to get to the point where you know what decisions and actions to take. You were collecting data so you had all the necessary information to work with. As you take action, I suggest paying extra attention to the information coming through your emotional body; trust your intuition. What’s coming through your inner space will help qualify which pieces of external data to use and how best to use them. You innately know how to balance all sides of the situation to advance the project effectively and efficiently. On offer is a chance to cover quite a bit of ground. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — What matters most to you? What are your deepest desires and needs? I suggest making a list of your top priorities. Not just in terms of what is in your life now, but what you want more of. As you make this list, make it just for you — not based on what anyone around you thinks or feels. Trust that your inner voices are aligning you with the things and people that help you dwell more in a place of genuine passion and joy. That’s the feeling you get when time seems endless and what you do replenishes your internal creative fire. You are now in a position to restructure your life in all areas so you can live daily what you are most passionate about, regardless of whether it seems possible for you to have it. — by Genevieve Hathaway
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — I suggest listening to your gut or your intuition as you look to resolve a few situations. Opportunities are presenting themselves to build new ways of responding based on valuing yourself rather than pleasing others. As you do this you may receive some pushback from those who are used to you responding by first considering others’ needs before your own. Don’t worry about what others think as you move forward. Instead, I propose basing your decisions on personal integrity. You can think of this as taking actions that support your needs and desires. If this feels dangerous or bold, that is a hint that you are working from a position of authenticity. — by Genevieve Hathaway
