The Bien Bohemio tango club in Buenos Aires. Each week people come to sing classic tango songs. Like karaoke but with live music behind you. Teachers, doctors, shop keepers, aunts, grandmothers, fathers. There are many regulars, who step onto a small stage every week to sing tragic tales. Even if you don’t speak Spanish, you understand the agony and ecstasy on their faces. And it seems each person steps onto the stage with a primal need, and steps off transformed. This woman is such a regular, she walks down among the tables to tell her story.
Paris-based photographer Danielle Voirin travels the world and documents her experiences in photographs. She takes street photography and photojournalism a shade beyond even art, to the level of mysticism. This woman looks amazing. I love her already! I hope I’m doing something like that at her age, 🙂
