Stage director Alexandre Camerlo, during rehearsal of the Offenbach operetta La Chatte Metamorphosée en Femme (The Cat Who Transformed Into A Woman), which will be performed tonight at 59 Rivoli in Paris as a part of their classical music festival “La Classique C’est Pour les Vieux!” (Classical Music is for Old People!).

Fascinating image — I take it we’re seeing a projection onto a hung sheet of the director in front of a painted set/backdrop? And the title “Classical Music is for Old People!” just cracks me up.
🙂
Right, the projection is above the stage. The actors/singers perform on a blue background and the miniature set is filmed off to the side. In the projection, the singers and the set are combined. It’s pretty fun.
Oh wow — that’s even more complex than I’d imagined. But it does sound like fun!
