Self-awareness is the pearl of great price — and it’s yours for the having. Well, it is if you’re willing to work for it. You seem to be making some big decisions about yourself, though I would suggest asking what the basis of those decisions is. Be careful about any observations you make that include another person. Part of the mirage is that this is about you and someone else, or you and your desire to be with someone else. Indeed, a central theme of this moment of your life is learning that ‘special relationships’ cannot be the focus of your existence. The time has arrived to orient on yourself. I don’t mean to be selfish or cut others off — I mean understanding that you exist, and that your autonomous existence is the only place from which you can relate to others on equitable terms. And to get to this point, you may have to sort through a lot of illusions; or maybe it’s just one.

In 2020 we have not one but two conjunctions that mark the turn of a generation, and of an era in history. On Jan. 12, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn form their once per 33-year conjunction. Then on Dec. 21. 2020, Jupiter and Saturn, both now in Aquarius, form a conjunction in the first degree of that sign. Read more here…

Your chosen artistic endeavors are of special importance right now. Not only do they possess all the usual benefits that living creatively brings; they are currently serving as a means for you to disconnect from certain restrictions you may have experienced in the past. As this is probably a relatively deep process, some powerful emotions might arise. What’s likely happening is that you’re heading toward a new, fresher, freer state of being. Gradually, you’re discovering more about who you truly are, what you really want, and how you can make that happen.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Capricorn weekly for March 28, 2008.

At the core of every human being is a well of sorrow, yet this is the water that nourishes life. You are learning to make contact with your own sadness, your own sense of loss and most of all, the fact that the time span of every human life and every human relationship is limited. This is the mark of true maturity; of true humility; and from this viewpoint, it is possible to embrace your existence and your relationships consciously. If you are wondering why you suddenly have more to offer the people around you, why you are feeling more generous, and why you take your own needs less seriously, I would propose that it’s the result of some deep and unusual growth. Existence is indeed fragile, and to the extent a human being can express any strength at all, it’s often the result of embracing the delicacy we all share.

Venus is still moving through your creative, pleasure-seeking 5th house, which is a reminder to focus on those wavelengths. You always get your work done and you always will. It’s having fun that needs to be the focus of your discipline. So stop what you’re doing and get that going.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Virgo weekly for March 14, 2016.

It may take some time for the recent revelation about a relationship or partnership to sink in. But don’t let it take too long. You know everything you need to know, and you very likely know what you want to do. Only you can grant yourself the freedom of choice. Nobody will hand it to you; nobody can give you permission to live your life, except yourself. Ask yourself what you actually owe people; think this through a few times, and if necessary, pay up. It’s essential to remember that you are not responsible for the burdens or the karma of others — unless you choose to be. And in that choice you would need to be guided by a really good reason. It’s more than enough that you are wholly responsible for your own life. Most people never even get to that point of maturity. You have arrived.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Aries weekly for March 19, 2010.

Aah, the mysteries that spring from women. But I would ask: is it the girl, or the grown adult? Is it a mix of both? And what is their relationship? I suggest that you discern the difference between them. They may show up in the same place, with different needs and agendas. The girl needs protection. She has a fragile quality to her psyche and is touching her nascent sense of identity for what may feel like the first time. The woman has held down an enormous amount of energy and feels like she’s going to explode, melt down or go mad from lack of attention. Here is what’s going on a few layers down: the source of inner chaos is the sense that her gifts are not being received by the world, or that she lacks the courage to offer them.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Cancer monthly for July 26, 2011.

You will need to watch your tendency toward what some call passive aggression during the next few weeks. There’s nothing passive about aggression in any form, but it can wear many disguises, and have many motives. One motive would be insecurity. The planets this month are a setup for attempting to convert an extra-fiery temperament mixed with lack of confidence into conflict, which would be a purely self-destructive combination. The way to recast this into a creative equation is to be in contact with your desires, also with your sense of entitlement. They are two different things, though typically experienced as one. The first thing to do is sort them out. It’s absolutely vital that you be in touch with your desires; that you discover what you want. And it’s equally vital that you experience desire itself as a source of pleasure, without resorting to a sense of entitlement. Of its own, wanting is healthy — especially if you can find in your desire the authentic need to share and nourish others. Yet when you retreat into obsession with having, with achieving or with conquering, or with a drive for getting attention at any cost, that can turn negative fairly quickly. Therefore I would say, give what you want to receive. Get in contact with your deepest desires, and express them in a way that is generous and loving. Be especially kind to women; that means listening, in the first instance, and offering your support in gentle ways, with no strings attached.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Virgo weekly for March 18, 2018.

One of the most unusual properties of Virgo is the depth at which you identify with your relationships. You make some of the most valuable discoveries about yourself through investing yourself in others. There are many implications to this. For example, you can hold off on your growth by backing away from intimacy. Conversely, if you become over-invested in a person, you can hand them the keys to your independence. In this respect, you walk a narrow edge, where you must maintain self-awareness at all costs, without becoming self-obsessed. All of this is described in the sign Aries, your 8th solar house. Many planets are now there. The Sun is about to enter, and Chiron — perhaps the most important planet associated with Virgo — arrives in a few weeks. Be kind to yourself, and to the people who hold space for so much of your beautiful self-discovery.
