Moonshine Horoscope — Gemini Full Moon Edition

Saturday, Dec. 6 is the Gemini Full Moon, exact at 7:27 am EST (12:27 am UTC). This is the Moon in Gemini opposite the Sun in Sagittarius. (View full chart here.) Len Wallick has interpreted this lunation for each of the 12 Moon signs in their horoscopes below.

To read these horoscopes, it helps to know your Moon sign (where the Moon was at the moment of your birth), which you can find out by entering your birth data into Serennu.com. If you know your birth time, that will ensure accuracy — but often you can still be sure of its sign even if the exact degree is fuzzy. You can also read these horoscopes for your Sun and rising signs for additional insight.

By Len Wallick

Aries (March 20-April 19)

Aries (March 20-April 19) — Please consider how you may be in the process of associating with others and locating your place for the long term. It’s not so much about where you belong. It’s more about who you belong with. Neither is it so much about coupling-up; it’s more about grouping-up. Nonetheless, the right person would serve to guide you, and the right place will almost certainly correspond with the society you want and need. So, make like you are looking for wild mushrooms as you search for your future: Don’t do it alone lest you get lost, and focus on finding the right environment first.

Taurus (April 19- May 20)

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — Stormy emotional weather need not be bad news for you at this time. That’s especially true if any tempests you encounter are either precipitated or exacerbated by being caught between a rock and a hard place. In fact, any moments of distress or despair overtaking your next handful of days could very well precede a transformative turn of events soon after. Therefore, be open to a fortunate outcome if you find yourself in difficulty anytime soon. To that end, remember who you are. Let your choices be influenced by your highest values, not your deepest fears.

Gemini (May 20- June 21)

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — It would probably be worth your while to begin actively looking for alternatives, especially where either inertia or momentum have taken over in your life. Begin by considering the difference. Inertia usually correlates with that which tends not to change unless acted upon — and that is not implicitly a bad thing. Momentum often builds as action accumulates; that is not necessarily a good thing. Once you get clear about what’s what for you, then you will be able to exercise what appears to be an excellent opportunity to turn things around as you see fit.

Cancer (June 21- July 22)

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — Please be alert for places or situations where it feels like you may be either the missing piece or an unanticipated solution, but don’t impose yourself — at least not right away. Instead, let yourself be seen rather than heard. Let yourself be discovered rather than presented. Such a protocol will buy the time you need to determine in advance whether you want to campaign if nominated or serve if elected. Your life now is more than a simple duality of service and self-interest; it’s also about getting to the heart and truth of matters first.

Leo (July 22- Aug. 23)

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Whatever tests you may have just passed, now is no time to rest on your laurels. Similarly, don’t let whatever tests you recently might have failed hold you back. Instead of dwelling with what has concluded, take a look at what you need. Specifically, address needs that may have been neglected while you were being tested. Allow yourself enough time to get in touch with what you put off or put aside as deadlines loomed and pressures mounted. Get hold of yourself, and once you do, look for appropriate moments to share what you find.

Virgo (Aug. 23- Sep. 22)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — In a long-ago lyric, Bob Dylan professed to save his judgment for himself. Whether or not the former Mr. Zimmerman has subsequently practiced his preaching should be of little concern for you now. Instead, you might want to reflect on who, what, and how you have been judging. If your reflections feel like work, you will know you are doing it right. If the results open your heart, you will know the work is of the right kind. If it turns out that you have in fact been judging yourself without thinking and for too long, take this as your (gentle) cue to stop.

Libra (Sep. 22 - Oct. 23)

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — Maybe you can give yourself a new story for Christmas (or solstice, or holiday of your choice). Shop around by sharing aspirations with chance acquaintances. Tell your fellow commuter about where you would travel if you were to keep going past your stop. Share with the teller at the bank what you’re saving up for next year, or mention to the checkout clerk what you might sample the next time in. The idea is not to mislead anybody. Rather, think of it as window shopping, and trying new stories on for size. Shop long enough, and you just might find a gift worth going after.

Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 22)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — Somewhere along the line in the past couple years you may somehow have weighed yourself in the balance and found yourself wanting. You may feel that way now. You don’t want to feel that way forever. Towards that end, begin formulating a new year’s resolution to restore lightness to your step and strength to your lower back. What works for you won’t be the same for everybody born with the Moon in Scorpio. To find your own unique resolution, ponder on what it would take for you not to take yourself so seriously, and see where that meditation takes you.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 22)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — You are no stranger to paradox, although paradox may always feel very strange for you. Nobody understands the cliche of being alone in a crowd as deeply as your lunar tribe. Nor does any other natal Moon bequeath the same sense of separation from those with whom you are most closely aligned genetically. With this month’s Full Moon in Gemini (the sign opposite your Moon sign), you can expect a further sense of the unnaturally familiar, but also an unaccustomed (even unprecedented) insight into your own deepest self.

Capricorn (Dec. 22- Jan. 20)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — You are on track to close out 2014 on a solid and substantial note if you can but remember the time-honored rule of playground basketball: play within your self. If it’s not now within your capacity to dunk the ball, wait until next year to stretch for the rim. If you are not by now well-practiced shooting from mid-court, work your way in closer to the basket for a higher-percentage shot. Focus on adding modestly to the impressive score you have already built up. If that means providing somebody else with an assist, so much the better.

Aquarius (Jan. 20- Feb. 19)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — Now is the time to give yourself a proverbial shot in the arm, as opposed to a euphemistic kick in the behind. You deserve props far more than prods at this point, and nobody knows that better than you. Therefore, you must lead the way. Not by fishing for compliments or seeking strokes, but rather by asserting your place at the table, and your right to a drumstick. Neither is this about tooting your own horn — more like you playing your own drum so that others are compelled by their own best nature (and best interest) to fall into step.

Pisces (Feb. 19- March 20)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — Luck, so it’s said, is the residue of preparation. That’s especially true for you now. There appears to be some sort of long haul ahead for you, but far enough from where you currently are so as to allow ample time for accumulating all the luck you will need. For the time being it will be enough to prepare so long as you can harness your recently acquired proficiency for focus to the wagon of your natural creativity. The trick will be to hitch up the on the right side and in the appropriate order so that your preparations result in progress.

Moonshine Horoscopes — Taurus Full Moon Edition

Thursday, Nov. 6, is the Taurus Full Moon, exact at 5:23 pm EST (22:23 UTC). This is the Moon in Taurus opposite the Sun in Scorpio.

Aries (March 20-April 19)

Aries (March 20-April 19) — Posses yourself, and your possessions will be more secure. Accept yourself, and you will find greater acceptance. Empower yourself and your power will grow. Regardless of your proficiency with mathematics, there is a divine form of arithmetic available to you right now. What you add will multiply. Where you subtract, division will result. Therefore, focus on what you can bring to any situation in your life, and what you take away will take care of itself. The universe is not asking you to act on faith. This is remembering what you know.

Taurus (April 19- May 20)

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — True fulfillment comes only to those who are not full of themselves. Therefore be curious in every sense of the word. Practice being observant of your surroundings. Then, give free rein to your curiosity, and allow your innate capacity to take things in to take over. Also, rather than look into mirrors, practice being a mirror with a mission. If you make it your mission to reflect back to others what you love of yourself in them, they may think you a bit odd. Nonetheless, persist gently, and what others share of themselves in return will almost certainly fill your deepest needs.

Gemini (May 20- June 21)

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — The middle road may very well appear to be off to one side or another for you right now. Try allowing that to be okay. This is not to say you are in any way off your true path. It is to say that your true path may be a little lonely for the time being. Try letting that be okay too. You need not fear that you will lose any ability to engage. What you do need to watch for is being less than true to yourself. Fortunately, you are at the steering wheel, and this stretch of road is probably familiar enough for you to make your way to re-engagement plenty soon enough.

Cancer (June 21- July 22)

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — If fatigue has recently been an issue for you, a new and more wholesome remedy may be at hand. If, on the other hand, your energy levels have been acceptable, optimum performance might be just around the corner. The key to either ending a funky slump or shifting into a higher gear appears to be how much you are present in every moment, seeing your surroundings and immediate company for what and who they are. When you get right down to it, what’s either had you down (or at less than full potential) is probably somebody or something that is, in some sense, far away.

Leo (July 22- Aug. 23)

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Spending time now counting your blessings promises to yield unanticipated dividends. That’s partially because the odds are you have missed as many benefits as you have noted in the onrushing flow of the past several weeks. Also, you might well have spent several months too narrowly focused on what you have been counting on. Pulling back to assess (or re-assess, as the case may be) does not mean pulling out of the flow, by the way. One blessing you may have missed is an expanded capacity to take more in while also taking more on.

Virgo (Aug. 23- Sep. 22)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — From the looks of it, your emotional investments are getting to be at least potentially (if not demonstrably) more productive and less exasperating. To stay on a roll (or get a roll going) in the next couple weeks, contemplate how and where previously separate threads in your life have woven together, and to what extent that’s happened at your suggestion. Also consider when and where you have recently practiced good timing — or not – that has enhanced the level of gratification or reduced the level of aggravation in your relationships.

Scorpio Birthday Reading Now Available for Pre-Order

Dear Friend and Reader:

If you’re born under the sign Scorpio or have Scorpio rising (or have Scorpio loved ones), this is going to be an intriguing year, one of the most meaningful in a long time. Three planets enter your sign the same day, followed by a solar eclipse.

That is an exciting solar return — a homecoming. In addition, Saturn finally makes its first moves out of your sign later in the year, and transitions into Sagittarius. This is a total change of energy and shift of emphasis.

Your birthday reading is now available for pre-order for a reduced price.

I intend to make the reading available soon; it consists of two half-hour (plus) segments of astrology, plus astrology afterthoughts and what seems to be everyone’s favorite — a tarot reading using the Voyager deck by James Wanless.

Your reading includes two excellent extra features — access to last year’s reading, so you can check my work and check the progress of your life; and also a live call-in program so you can ask questions about what I cover and (to some extent) your own astrology.

If you’re friends with a Scorpio, this reading makes a beautiful gift they’ll use and truly love. All of my readings are recorded in studio-quality audio, and can be listened to on any computer or mobile device.

You can pre-order the reading now for $29.95, and I plan to have it ready for you by next week.

Lovingly,

P.S. If you have not yet visited the new Planet Waves website, you can sign up for a complementary Introductory Membership here. This will give you access to many of our regular columnists and other features, and offers a glimpse of what a full subscribing membership offers.

Libra (Sep. 22 - Oct. 23)

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — A whole new level of maturity awaits you. Fortunately you have plenty of time to reach it. Start now by setting aside five minutes of every day for an internal appraisal of your external possessions. Make a list. Begin with how you came to acquire each thing. Then, proceed to acquire some level of awareness regarding how each piece of tangible property got the value it has for you now. Though such a practice may seem at first an idle and arbitrary pastime, simple persistence and consistency should yield a more sustainable perspective on your life before this year ends.

Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 22)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — Think wet cement. To work with wet cement you need planning, preparation, a sense of proportion, and enough time at the right time. It’s very possible there is at least one part of your life (if not your entire life) to which the metaphor of wet cement would apply now. Think of that which is not yet set in stone for the long run, or what is otherwise still in the process of taking form. Then, get clear on whether you have a plan, and what (if anything) you have been preparing for. Finally, apply yourself as if time is running out, because in some sense it probably is.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 22)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Your intuitions are evidently working very well. Therefore, if something just doesn’t feel right, pay attention. At the same time, however, be circumspect about what you do in response to what you are feeling. If your intuitions have a downside right now, it’s their need for verification outside of your personal story. If possible, find an objective and impersonal way to audit whatever does not seem to add up. Then you will know whether it’s your attitude or your relationships that need adjusting.

Capricorn (Dec. 22- Jan. 20)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — It appears as though you have caught up with something. If so, acknowledge both what you have done and those who have helped, then let it go. You have other things to think about. Because it also seems as though you are getting caught up in something at this time as well — something new and promising. To realize the promise and minimize any pitfall, ask yourself at the beginning of every day where you want to put your energy. Then, at the end of every day, ask yourself to what cause your energy went, and reset your intent for the next day accordingly.

Aquarius (Jan. 20- Feb. 19)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — Don’t hold your breath. What seems to be impending probably has further to go than you may think right now. Besides, it would do you a lot of good to release what’s grown stale after having been kept inside so long. For the best results, think of yourself as one party in a fair exchange. Exhaling slowly so as to show the way will almost certainly be better than blowing anything (or anybody) down in an attempt to clear your way. That way, whatever form of fresh air you take in will better serve to clear your head than to turn it.

Pisces (Feb. 19- March 20)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — Congratulations for hanging in there so well for so long. It probably feels like a quite a while since your insides have simmered down enough for what’s outside to make sense. Nonetheless, it appears you have at least gotten the hang of how to adjust as needed to the consequences of your aspirations. Now begins a season of slow cooking, when it will be better to be fueled more by patient resolve than residual remorse. As with all cooking, you should make palatable results your top priority. Therefore, be moderate and act in good taste.

Moonshine Horoscopes — Aries Full Moon Edition

Wednesday, Oct. 8 is the Aries Full Moon, exact at 6:51 am EDT (10:51 UTC).

Aries (March 20-April 19) — Please consider the virtues of unconventional wisdom and counterintuitive (yet intentional) responses. If any emotional experience of yours provokes something akin to vertigo, look down into it, take it in, examine it — even savor it. Instead of resisting pressure, find a way to yield and be stronger for it. Release any notion about being a force of nature, and let nature show you a thing or two. Get together with others when you feel the need to get yourself together. Seek solitude when you feel the need to show off. Remember, catching the next escalator always requires you to go to the other side.

Taurus (April 19- May 20)

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — Knowing what works for you is one of your greatest strengths. It’s also important not to lose sight of what doesn’t work for you. That being said, authentically engaging in some genuine, good faith give-and-take might go a long way towards making the world work for you about now. To begin with, be open to possibly having a blind spot or two in how you see yourself. If you can accept criticism from those who know you well, and act on it without losing sleep, you will have found the finest line. After that, allow walking the line to be what makes you, not what breaks you.

Gemini (May 20- June 21)

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — The more a phrase is repeated, the more meaning it often loses. The term ‘spiritual warrior’ appears to have suffered such a fate. While the term may never recover its original power in public discourse, now is an opportune time to redeem those two words for yourself. Start with an etymological dictionary. Then, put your Internet search engines to use, and perhaps your local library. The path toward becoming an authority on both words — and their combination — just might serve to enhance your personal authority as never before.

Cancer (June 21- July 22)

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — Would you rather be right? Or would you rather be loved? If you do not have a definite preference, getting clear on that choice might be the best way out of any conundrums you are going through. If, on the other hand, you can state your priority with certainty, the answer will probably reveal who or what you truly serve, and any sacrifices made to do so. Such an inner dialogue could go a long way toward helping you figure out how you got to be who, what and where you are — while also helping you to grasp how what you really want to do or be might have evolved somewhere along the way.

Leo (July 22- Aug. 23)

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — If you can be your own best friend now, the world will almost certainly be a friendlier place for you. Fortunately, being a supportive benefactor for yourself does not appear to be very complicated at this time. First, friends serve to witness your life and hold space for you to live it. Do that for yourself by uncovering the roots of your most important needs and strongest devotions. Once you have such intimate access, take an inventory of how your daily activities and immediate environment jive with your root motivations. Then begin acting to resolve any discrepancies in your favor.

Virgo (Aug. 23- Sep. 22)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — It’s about time to engage with any strange relationship fascinations that have long fascinated you to no end. Engagement means going beyond vicarious validations and aloof affirmations towards total involvement. Granted, that’s a big step. More likely several big steps are involved. To find your way through to a more resonant level of intimate connection while also maintaining (or better, improving) your productivity, make sure each step is to a higher level of functioning before you take it. This is more than a haircut. It’s a farewell to vanity.

Libra (Sep. 22 - Oct. 23)

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — You could not be blamed for wanting to take the rest of this year off. So ask yourself how it might be possible to afford a break from what’s worn you down, while still being able to carry what this time in your life has placed on your shoulders. Search within for all the responsibilities and duties you are most fiercely proud of, and delegate those attachments to others who have similar affinities but fresher legs. Show what you know. Be an example for others by releasing attachment as proficiently as you accept responsibility.

Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 22)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — Taking care of yourself is more than just a cursory admonition offered by friends who are too busy with their own affairs to express their concerns more deeply. Get a clue from the best wishes of others and grant them for yourself. Don’t worry about added expenses or greater demands on your time. Serendipitously for you, self-care appears to entail making do with less, more than anything else at this stage of your life. Let intelligent and discerning simplification govern your choices and guide your priorities.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 22)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Whenever you find yourself wondering whether life is more than just one thing after another, hold that thought and follow it. Authentically taken, the path should lead you toward somebody who seems to have been down the same road but who is not so busy now — even better, a group of such somebodies. Make time to be with any such person so as to take in how they got from where you are to where they are. If you are lucky enough to stumble upon a collective of similar souls, invest some energy into figuring out what brought them together. It might be the best investment you ever made.

Capricorn (Dec. 22- Jan. 20)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — Allow reluctance to be your guide. Move toward any encouragements you have been resisting, while also giving yourself permission to pull back when the world is too much for you. Yes, you have paid your dues; nobody who really matters would argue with you about that. Simply consider being more open to what reaping accrued dividends might look like. Be especially aware of those who have looked up to you even when you were looking down on yourself, because now is the time to begin showing them (and yourself) how right they were.

Aquarius (Jan. 20- Feb. 19)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — If every achievement now only leads to greater challenges, give yourself a pat on the back for having probably done something very right. If you are not encountering difficulties at this time, carefully consider where you might have gone wrong and how to correct your course. For as strange as it may seem, your most prickly skeptics are likely your best allies now, provided you heed them. Furthermore, the most persistently demanding people in your life could be your salvation, provided that serving them also serves the highest good. To take the highest road, steer clear of Easy Street.

Pisces (Feb. 19- March 20)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — At its most fundamental, chaos is the absence of heat. At its most basic, heat is matter in motion. Even though it might be a big adjustment, your best practices for the rest of this year will involve making heat. Look hot, not because you are self-involved, but because you are self-aware. Feel hot, not by being angry, but by being active. Be hot, with your every first step, and from your very first word. Get moving more as an example for others than for yourself. Don’t worry about being misunderstood, worry about breaking through complacency to the other side where life is lived, where existence is a dynamic and uncertain thing. What the world needs now is heat, and you are just the one to bring it.

Moonshine Horoscopes — Pisces Full Moon Edition

Monday Sept. 8 is the Pisces Full Moon, exact at 9:38 pm EDT (Tuesday at 1:38 UTC). (View full chart here.) Elizabeth Michaud and Len Wallick have interpreted this lunation for each of the 12 Moon signs in their horoscopes below.

By Elizabeth Michaud and Len Wallick

Aries (March 20-April 19)

Aries (March 20-April 19) — This is likely to be a very personal Full Moon for you. Personal in the sense of a dream you cannot describe to anyone else because they would have had to be there in order to understand. To better grasp what you might be unable to convey verbally, think of yourself as an explorer. Carefully observe, so as to remember. Follow the flow of your emotions as the surest, swiftest way in, but keep your wits about you through the twists and turns so as to also find your way out. Most of all, seek out new resources you can use to resolve old complaints.

Taurus (April 19- May 20)

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — If you get the sense that you are entering strange days without end, assuage yourself by entertaining the possibility that you are in fact emerging from such a period. Consider whether your life is actually returning to a more nourishing and healthful normal, which only appears strange for its long absence. Draw upon past experiences of re-acquainting yourself with what once was familiar. Settle down where you are. Take what time you can for rest and recreation this month. Fortify yourself. At least one more transition awaits you before you are home.

Gemini (May 20- June 21)

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — If you are feeling the world is too big for comfort, the sensation will probably pass as soon as you grow your recently achieved awareness. If, on the other hand, your life is feeling confined and narrow, you will have to be the one to divest yourself of that notion. Right now, a broader level of comfort and an expanded sense of opportunity are available should you but open your mind to the possibility. Soon you will have the requisite motivation to achieve that opening, but there is a question of whether you will master your desires or whether they will master you.

Cancer (June 21- July 22)

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — Being of service does not necessarily require sacrificing yourself completely, just like being of use does not entail being responsible for every detail. The time period surrounding this Full Moon brings issues of passion and faith to your awareness. Sometimes, when things are flowing — when you love and feel loved in return — you can give boundlessly and selflessly. Instead of being awash in the tides of passion, you are in a position to guide yourself in the emotional current. You can afford to be more honest with yourself about what you want in relationships, and what you are willing to give in return.

Leo (July 22- Aug. 23)

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — While it is certainly true that money isn’t everything, the stress involving finances can often be an overwhelming burden. Part of dealing with that stress is sorting out the details involving your income and resources. There is a freedom being offered to you right now to deal with some uncomfortable issues, to shed some baggage, and to gain a more mature sense of self-worth regarding how you sustain yourself and what you need to feel good. Remember that your value is measured within, not without. It is a useful time to cut out the superficial and get down to basics.

Virgo (Aug. 23- Sep. 22)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — The therapeutic opportunities that this Full Moon makes available to you are invaluable. How do you feel in your relationships? Since one of your innate skills is the ability to make sense of the pieces of the whole, this is a good time to look at the inner workings of people you are close to, and see if all the pieces add up to something healthy. Don’t be too critical, of yourself or of them. Just be honest and compassionate and see what you come up with. Who do you really feel good with? Take a moment to appreciate the people that lift you up. There is a long line between self-interest and self-sacrifice, and you will be a happier part of the whole when you understand that.

Libra (Sep. 22 - Oct. 23)

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — If something seems to be nagging at you, like a vague discomfort, take a moment to ask yourself one question — do you feel valued for what you contribute to the world? This doesn’t only apply to work that earns you money, although that is part of it. You may find yourself tapping into deeply buried insights, systematically showing or hinting at steps to take. Follow your gut, particularly regarding sharing your creative skills. From making art to encouraging a friend in need, you have more imaginative talents than you know. Express those traits, and let things take off from there.

Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 22)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — Your perseverance and resilience have opened up a world of emotional empathy. The depth of understanding is a resource — you are in touch with your own motivations and the impulses of others. Visualize dumping garbage down a trash chute. That’s what you are doing right now. By releasing the old, you will let wounds and stubborn grudges fall away, opening up space for supportive and nurturing interactions. It is likely that the space now emerging may soon be filled with exactly the kind of passion and integrity you seek. For now, consider your emotional world as a piece of land you must clear and heal in order to build on it in the future.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 22)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — It’s OK if you feel a little on edge these days — this phase will not last forever — and soon the bee that may have been buzzing in your bonnet will rest. Before the momentum shifts your way, do yourself a favor and clean out the closets of your personal life. When the party gets going, you are going to want as many friendly faces around you to celebrate as possible. Do what you can to heal the hurts that linger while those channels are still open. If something is making you feel nervous or guilty, tend to it. Make amends. We are human, and forgiveness and self-acceptance are keys to living freely in this life.

Capricorn (Dec. 22- Jan. 20)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — Sometimes less is more. Sometimes it isn’t. Until the end of the year, it would probably be a good idea to consider how concepts of less and more have been working for you, and how things might work better. Begin with something easily under your control: how much you say. If ever there were a time to express succinctly without sacrificing what you need to say, it appears to be now. Economy with words nearly always adds to their force and value, but they have to be the right words, and well timed.

Aquarius (Jan. 20- Feb. 19)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — Now would be an appropriate time for you to invoke the proverb about still waters running deep. Although Aquarius is an air sign, its iconic association with water is comparable to a paradoxical but persistent nickname — like a tall person called “Shorty,” or a short person known as “Stretch.” To better honor and be at peace with your own paradoxes, do what you can to cultivate stillness as the Pisces Full Moon approaches. The result could find you evoking a greater depth than ever before. You may also find yourself better understood and more loved for who you truly are.

Pisces (Feb. 19- March 20)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — You may not always be comfortable with the spotlight, but here it probably comes. Rather than avoid the attention you will potentially be attracting, use it. Not so much for gain; more for self-awareness. Whenever, however and wherever you become the focus of others, acknowledge it respectfully and appropriately without getting caught up in it. It’s not the perceptions of others that matter at this time. It’s how you respond to being the center of attention that you should study intently — in the moment, at every opportunity. What you learn could change the course of your life.

Moonshine Horoscopes — Aquarius Full Moon Edition

Sunday Aug. 10 at 2:09 pm EDT (18:09 UT) is the Aquarius Full Moon. (View full chart here.) Elizabeth Michaud and Len Wallick have interpreted this lunation for each of the 12 Moon signs in their horoscopes below.

By Elizabeth Michaud and Len Wallick

Aries (March 20-April 19)

Aries (March 20-April 19) — You want what you want. Nearly everybody you know understands that about you, and everybody who matters respects it. How to get what you want, however, is a fluctuating dynamic with cycles that perhaps only you understand. If you can recall previous times when you had to put something in to get what you wanted out, indications are it’s that time again. As a matter of fact, everything you want and more just might be available now if you are willing to make the right kind of effort to earn it.

Taurus (April 19- May 20)

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — You may feel as though abundance is moving away from you. You may be correct. Please consider the extent you might have contributed to the situation by withdrawing from exchange with others. Yes, you need your space, but you also need to let others in upon occasion. Maybe if you act now by opening a few doors and windows, what comes in could be more than flies. Perhaps what rolls downhill is a lot less repulsive and a good deal more valuable than you thought. Some must believe to receive. In your case, receive to believe.

Gemini (May 20- June 21)

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — There is something of what goes around coming around the corner, begging you for resolution with this Full Moon. Focus on closure and try to eschew new enterprises except those absolutely necessary for the next couple weeks. A new grounding will almost certainly result. If you need a clue regarding what to follow through with and how to do it, focus on what will contribute to your rest and relaxation. Prioritize completions that will help you to breathe easier. After that, consider how to relieve others of needless tension as well.

Cancer (June 21- July 22)

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — It is very easy to get carried away, especially when it comes to satisfying appetites. Whether we’re over-consuming or being needy for attention from loved ones, it is common for us imperfect human beings to satiate intense desires with immediate gratification. This Aquarius Full Moon shines a light on your inner security. You’ve held on through a tidal wave for quite a while now. You know your strengths; you may have come to terms with some of your weaknesses. Get clear on what you love about yourself, and try to be aware of when you’re seeking validation from an outside source. Your greatest friend and trusted ally is yourself.

Leo (July 22- Aug. 23)

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Mahatma Gandhi said, “A coward is incapable of exhibiting love; it is the prerogative of the brave.” If only more people found value in expressing love, imagine the change that would be possible. You are called now to do your part — to lead by courageous example. Don’t measure what you get back in terms of acknowledgment or gratitude. I know that can be difficult with a potent and determined desire fueling your drive for reward. Consider this an investment in future benefits. It is time to shine your light and see what grows. Pay it forward, as the saying goes.

Order your 2014 birthday reading for $29.95 through today only (price will increase to $39.95 tomorrow)!  This year’s reading includes a live Q&A session with Eric (recorded for those who cannot attend).

Virgo (Aug. 23- Sep. 22)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — Being at ease takes special skill. With so much stirring in your inner world, clarity can be elusive, and you may feel somewhat overwhelmed or vulnerable. The final relaxation pose in yoga, called Savasana, is often said to be the most challenging. To stay present in the moment and relax the body is tough, since the mind naturally tends to escape into planning the future or daydreaming about the past. But there is something to be said for letting go of the chaos and simply remembering that you are always in charge of your own center, your own breath.

Libra (Sep. 22 - Oct. 23)

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — This Full Moon may well be a whirlwind of social activity or opportunity, or at the very least a phase of pretty sweet ease with other human beings. If you aren’t receiving the personal attention you want, it’s a good time to try a little harder to use your gracious influence. Many people out there are seeing you in a very flattering light. Enjoy it, and pay attention to doors that open that just may help advance your emotional and financial goals somewhere down the line.

Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 22)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — Life is not always ‘all or nothing’, though it can certainly feel like it. If you find yourself in the uncomfortable position of being forced into the spotlight, try not to overreact. Your hard work and perseverance aren’t going unnoticed, and people are seeking to learn from your wealth of knowledge and experience. Just remember that you are not alone — you are supported and loved by a framework of various people in your human family who want you to succeed. Be kind to yourself and accept their encouragement.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 22)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Wishful thinking can be a good thing. When used to envision the future, the mind is a powerful force. You are in a place right now where inspiration is flowing, whether awake or asleep. Let your ideas be nurtured, let your imagination run wild. Think of this as a brainstorming session for your dreams, where you get familiar with them and determine which ones are really worth working towards. At the same time, don’t buy into all your own hype, or try to force your opinions onto others — you don’t want to burn bridges with reckless bravado. The time will come when budding aspirations will turn into tangible potentialities.

Capricorn (Dec. 22- Jan. 20)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — Don’t lose sight of what you need. Conversely, look to revise the concept of what you want. At this time, you can contribute significantly to the support of your needs while also meaningfully updating your heart’s desires by observing and addressing any impulsive tendencies, especially in communication. Listen closely to what comes out of your own mouth. Likewise, resolve to review what you write before sending it on. Implementing those two simple protocols will almost certainly open doors that you may very well have been previously (and unknowingly) closing.

Aquarius (Jan. 20- Feb. 19)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — The word ‘cleave’ is interesting in that it can mean both ‘split apart’ and ‘bring together’. This one bit of wordy knowledge may come in handy for you this month. If the Leo New Moon of late July came with some sort of splitting for you, the Aquarius Full Moon of August could represent the opportunity of reunification, or even healing. Conversely (and just as possible), what seemed too big to take on all at once just two weeks ago might now be resolved one part at a time.

Pisces (Feb. 19- March 20)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — Somewhere in the past, your creative proficiency was probably crimped a bit. Right about now should be an auspicious time both to examine your inhibitions and expand the scope of what looks to be your latent artistry. As you endeavor to pry into your own background, please be gentle. Self-criticism would be counterproductive at this point. Accept and embrace what you discover through self-examination. Devote efforts of the assertive variety to prying open your potential instead. Apply yourself to growth, and other necessary adjustments will follow in due course.

Moonshine Horoscopes — Scorpio Full Moon Edition

Dear Friend and Reader:

Underwater steam vents and subterranean rumblings characterize the Scorpio Full Moon, which is exact Wednesday, May 14, at 3:16 pm EDT (view the full chart here). Genevieve Hathaway has interpreted this lunation for each of the 12 Moon signs in her horoscopes below.

Planet Waves

To read Genevieve’s horoscopes, it helps to know your Moon sign (where the Moon was at the moment of your birth), which you can find out by entering your birth data into Serennu.com. Often you can still get accurate Moon sign info even if you lack your exact birth time. You can also read these horoscopes for your Sun and rising signs for additional insight.

For this particular Full Moon — the first after the recent eclipse series — we have the Moon at 24 Scorpio opposing the Sun at 24 Taurus. The Taurus-Scorpio axis always evokes deep sensual and sexual themes. Taurus and Scorpio are fixed signs, however, so even when the planets and aspects involved are speaking of change, there’s a visceral undercurrent of resistance to dissolve first.

Lined up with the Sun and Moon are about nine or so minor planets. Collectively they suggest that this Full Moon could be a transformational experience, particularly involving erotic energy. These minor planets also underscore themes of power dynamics, especially what we do with power and the fear that accompanies power — all facets of sexual encounters.

Yet everything described by the minor planets is present in one major aspect occurring simultaneously with the Full Moon: Venus in Aries square Pluto in Capricorn. We can boil this aspect down to: if we’re afraid of changing ‘how things have always been’ (Pluto in Capricorn), we end up being too selfish (Venus in Aries) to surrender to love and erotic energy — and that blocks us from seeing that the change required must happen within ourselves, not in ‘the other person’.

That is to say, Wednesday’s Scorpio Full Moon carries incredible potential for a deep, wet, earthy, lusty experience that leaves you feeling fundamentally different somehow. But if you want to have it, you have to be willing to let go a little.

Yours & truly,

Amanda Painter

Genevieve is available for astrology readings. You can contact her at genevieve@venusinblue.com.

Aries (March 20-April 19)

Aries (March 20-April 19) — The current astrology is highlighting the dynamic between what you share and what you keep to yourself — particularly when it comes to the sex you want and who you tell about it. I suggest beginning with yourself. Open up an honest inner dialogue, admitting a few, or many, truths to yourself about what you want and need in your sexual partnerships. If you run into sensations of fear or guilt around what you want, drop a few layers deeper and explore where those ideas came from, clearing away any outdated programming. Once you are candid with yourself, it will smooth the way to share sexual desires with partners. Ultimately, you are shaping your life in a positive way through tending to and sharing what you want during sex. Through these discussions, you are opening space for partners to fulfill those desires. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Taurus (April 19- May 20)

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — Over this week’s Scorpio Full Moon, you are sorting out what may feel like two distinct feelings in terms of your relationships. This may come with sensations that you are vacillating between many emotions, though in fact they are growing out of two basic feelings — love and fear. New patterns you’ve established over the past few weeks have you bumping up against an old relationship dynamic. Much has changed within your relationships and it started with you. As you work through the emotions you’re experiencing, an option is presenting itself to choose which end of the spectrum you’ll ground yourself in: a foundation of love or one based on fear. This demands a conscious approach to your thoughts and feelings. Note the sense of inner stability and quiet when you step into a space of love and acceptance for all involved in the relationship. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Gemini (May 20- June 21)

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — I propose a question: How do you experience your environment? By environment, I mean your home, local community, work space, places you frequent, your favorite shops and cafes, your city. Does it support you feeling your best on a daily basis? Your current astrology is asking you to consciously assess whether or not each of the spaces you occupy, and the people in those spaces, is supporting you on multiple levels — from the obvious (physical and emotional) to the less apparent subconscious aspects of yourself. Quite a few options are available to you to change situations that do not fully nourish you, though they may not be initially apparent. There is something in the chart about letting go of an old perspective or way of thinking. As you do, one or more ways for you to enact change will become accessible to you. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Cancer (June 21- July 22)

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — You are being called to take an emotional risk on a situation with someone you’ve known for quite some time. This may feel less like a risk and more like an uncertainty. What you are bumping up against is the need to be real: showing your cards, your position and what you need, then holding space for the other person to do the same. The sense of anxiety comes from not knowing how the other individual will respond. I suggest shifting your perspective to place the focus on sharing yourself rather than needing a certain outcome or specific information from the other person. There is always a risk involved when you are real, but there is also an opportunity to find the people you genuinely connect with. Think of this as finding your tribe, those people who love and accept you for who you are. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Leo (July 22- Aug. 23)

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — You may not always think of yourself as a confident rebel, though I suggest you get used to the idea. For some time, you’ve been applying to your life a few new concepts about what it means to you to live as a healthy individual. Many of these ideas and perspectives you’ve been working with are pushing you beyond the status quo. For you this may feel like your natural growth trajectory, though for many around you it seems quite revolutionary. They are looking to you for ways to apply these perspectives and approaches to their own lives. Leading by example involves actively living your ideas, putting them into practice. I suggest not giving any credence to feelings or thoughts of doubt that arise about whether you can be a leader. You already are in practice, now you are just naming the thing you do. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Virgo (Aug. 23- Sep. 22)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — For you to feel emotionally satisfied there needs to be an aspect of precision in all facets of your life. At the moment, you may feel a particularly strong desire for exactness in your conversations. Don’t mince words or dance around issues. And don’t let others act in this fashion. Many people spend much of their lives feeling afraid of saying what they really think. This can develop into a pattern that may be unconscious. I suggest not viewing other parties’ lack of clear communication as an intentional deception. Apply grace and patience as you continue to carve out an accurate picture of what the other person is trying to communicate, as well as what you are trying to get across. Ultimately, this clarity will bring both you and the other individual a greater sense of emotional stability and grounding. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Libra (Sep. 22 - Oct. 23)

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — You are working the fine edge of a situation, a seeming seesaw between a healthy sense of who you are and a group dynamic that is blurring the lines. As with any seesaw when both sides are of equal weight, the board can balance perfectly in the middle and both sides gain equally. In real-life application, to reach this kind of equilibrium both sides must understand and respect each other’s needs and boundaries. As you continue to rework the situation to find this point of harmony, I suggest focusing on what matters most to you and conveying that in a direct manner. I propose that you view the arrangement not as anything set in stone, instead taking the longer view of the potential for renegotiation and greater clarity around boundaries for all involved. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 22)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — The astrology over the Full Moon is highlighting your relationships, more specifically where your relationships end and you begin. I suggest flipping that idea around and beginning with yourself. Consider the perspective that the relationship with yourself is your most important relationship. I don’t mean in a selfish or narcissistic way, rather that taking care of yourself will provide to you more resources to share with others. Strong partnerships can grow out of this position. Working from this philosophy is easiest when the other person also subscribes to the idea. As you shift to a healthier individual-focused relationship style, look for partners who also live in this space as a daily practice. This may involve clearing the deck of some relationships that are holding you in your old mindset. Each of these actions is making a statement about who and what you want in your life — trust that the universe is listening. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 22)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Currently, your subconscious may feel more like the delta of a great river. A space where much material is being deposited, and building up to form channels and land masses. Think of this sediment being deposited and built as information. Cumulatively over time, it amasses into tangible, clear ideas. And those ideas combine together to form your vision. The question that follows is: what will you do with that vision? For a Moon sign that is often associated more with the big picture than with details, you have plenty of tools at your disposal to do the small things necessary to apply your vision. With focused precision, work on a plan that goes to the very ground level, the day-to-day tasks needed to build your idea. Combined with the powerful creativity at your disposal, you have the perfect alchemy to manifest even the most complex dream. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Capricorn (Dec. 22- Jan. 20)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — Saturn has been moving through the area of your chart that focuses on your groups, unwinding your sense of identity from that of the group mentality. At times this may have felt like you had to go down deep into your psyche to dig out the substructure of the mental ideas and perspectives you used to associate with, before laying new foundations. You’ve had to apply a significant amount of your energy to reach that deep. During this week’s Full Moon in Scorpio, you are in a time of culmination and seeing how far you’ve grown. You’ll have an opportunity over the coming months to further separate your sense of self from the organizations and people you are a part of. For the moment, enjoy how far you’ve come. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Aquarius (Jan. 20- Feb. 19)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — During this week’s Scorpio Full Moon, I suggest you carry around a little notebook and pen with you. Inspiration is coming in what may feel like a rapid-fire style: one idea after the next bursting onto the scene of your mind, accompanied by a flash of energy that may manifest as excitement or passion. Don’t try to slow the process down to make plans.
Instead, record what ideas come to you and sort out the details later. You are in a moment of tapping into your connection with your higher self. Think of it as a creative brain dump, pouring out the contents of your creative spark. Once you’ve emptied the container you can then examine the pieces you hold and see which to keep, which to merge and which to build on. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Pisces (Feb. 19- March 20)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — Sit down and take stock of the projects you’ve been working on. Reassess and reprioritize your goals. Which are the goals you wish to accomplish in the near future? I suggest acting on those objectives over this week’s Full Moon, when an opening will enable you to make rapid headway on a few of these projects. Remember, you have a finite amount of time and resources, so plan strategically which goals to tackle first. Then ask for results through action. I don’t mean a small step; rather, send that email or make that phone call or decision that seems like a big risk — where someone important could say “No.” Open the space for people and organizations to respond in a positive manner by pulling back your projections of a negative outcome. Trust that what you desire is worth manifesting. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Moonshine Horoscopes — Taurus New Moon Edition

Dear Friend and Reader:

Tuesday, April 29, is the Taurus New Moon and solar eclipse, exact at 2:14 am EDT. (View full chart here).

Next week’s Taurus New Moon looks simple on its surface: the Sun and Moon will not be making any squares or oppositions to major planets. Yet this chart still presents an image of great power and potential — and that’s before we even factor in that it’s a solar eclipse.

There is a strong indication that our ego-consciousness (Sun), emotions (Moon) and mental processes will all be working together with the added benefit of some deep psychic sensitivity and artistic energy, thanks to close aspects with Mercury in Taurus and Neptune in Pisces. You can expect to have a very instinctual response to anything that impacts you emotionally.

Taurus is noted for its love of sensual pleasures, beauty, material comforts and leisure — yet it is backed by strength, endurance and subterranean fire. When a Taurus wants to finish a job, it will, and often beautifully.

Now remember that this New Moon and solar eclipse is serving as a major bookend to this season’s peak astrology: the grand cardinal cross. Today — Tuesday, April 22 — we’re heading right into the peak moment for the grand cross. We’re not sure what it will mean yet. By the time the New Moon and eclipse rolls around one week from today, we may have a better idea, but this astrology will still be unfolding. For example, Mercury will be working with Pluto and Jupiter, offering optimistic yet sound judgment and the ability to change your approach from the ground up.

Consider also this note from the minor planet files: the Sun and Moon will be closely flanked by the asteroids Hephaistos and Toro — perfectly underscoring the themes of Taurus. Hephaistos was the Greek god of fire, metalworking, stonemasonry and sculpture. Toro, while it was named after an astronomer’s wife, echoes the Spanish word for ‘bull’ — as well as a popular brand of garden tiller.

This suggests that this New Moon and eclipse is less about the ‘cud-chewing’ side of Taurus and more about its power to break ground and bring forth material value in your life. Eclipses are pattern-setting events. This one has the potential to do so in very tangible ways — if you’re willing to put some muscle into it, get your hands dirty, and actually use the emotional and psychic information coming your way toward the beautiful life you desire.

Yours and truly,

This is an excerpt of a letter that floated into my inbox this morning. It’s from someone who just experienced The Mars Effect annual readings, and apparently a few others. The Aries birthday reading is available now.

“I’m highly grateful for the work you do. All of the readings I have gotten from you have touched my Soul the Core of its very essence. I just ordered a Gemini Reading for my Other Half, aka Soul Mate. We both listened to the reading together this morning and it had such a profound effect in more ways than one; with this knowledge we become closer in knowing that we have the power to create a life of abundance and purpose. I’m thankful to you for sharing your gifts with Hue Manity and yes I did say Hue Manity.”

Aries (March 20-April 19)

Aries (March 20-April 19) — Like a smith creating a tool in a forge, your inner sense of what you want and need are your anvil and hammer helping craft and shape your life. Notice how little force it takes to create what you desire. I’m not referring to force through actions, but rather how quickly what you want manifests in your life through letting your desire guide your actions and choices. Consider these desires as resources to build your vision for your life. Think of this internal sense of what you want in terms of having a clear vision for yourself and then applying that information to your decisions. Choices are presenting themselves — be selective in which opportunities you take. This will provide the time, energy and resources to act on what you most want to spend your time on. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Taurus (April 19- May 20)

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — Saturn has been in the sign opposite your Moon since October of 2012. This has shifted the landscape of how you show up in your relationships, though at times it may have felt more like you’ve been trying to squeeze through a tight bottleneck. There’s been a point of constriction in your relationships, pushing you to sort out what patterns are serving you and which are not. Next week the Sun and Moon are making an exact alignment in your Moon sign. The energy in your relationships is focusing on you. I don’t mean that in a narcissistic manner, rather the idea that all aspects of your life, including your intimate partnerships, are outgrowths of how you feel about yourself. Focus on feeling good about who you are, then notice the positive impact this has on the dynamics in your relationships. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Gemini (May 20- June 21)

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — Lately, you’ve been working through many questions about your creativity and how you apply it as a resource. For some time you’ve been collecting information and putting together the pieces you’ve gathered. Like assembling a puzzle, each clue has a spot where it fits into the larger picture and helps bring the image into focus. Over this week’s eclipse, you add the last few pieces and connect the dots of what you’ve been trying to figure out regarding how your creativity intersects with the larger world. This information comes from a place you may not have suspected — from inside of you. Your astrology looks like you remember information you’ve been carrying but did not see how it applied to your current questions until now. This may take courage to be honest and open with yourself. What you learn will be worth it. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Cancer (June 21- July 22)

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — A number of developments are forming quickly involving many people. The individuals entering your life at the moment may seem to have little in common with each other, though there is one common denominator and that is you. You are able to reach across what feels like distinct boundaries and draw these individuals to the same cause. I don’t mean manipulate anyone; rather you have the ability to gather people to you who have certain skills and then convey, in a compelling way, how they can contribute. By facilitating others’ sense of connection through being part of something larger than themselves, you are holding space for them to share and contribute what is unique to them. In turn, you claim and apply your own unique skills — giving yourself the same sense of connection you’ve provided to those around you. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Leo (July 22- Aug. 23)

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Events in your work life are currently accelerating as a solar eclipse takes place this week in Taurus. This may come with a feeling as though someone punched the throttle to warp speed. A cascade of events in your work is calling on you to make what can feel like very important decisions — and in fact they are. At the moment you have options; I suggest not getting distracted by worry about making any wrong choices, rather let your inner sense of what is true for you guide your steps and actions. Trust that you have all the necessary assets and skills to succeed at the path you choose. You have the ability to be ‘all in’, which means you are fully present, applying all of your potential to any situation or goal. This will get you far in achieving what you set out to accomplish. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Virgo (Aug. 23- Sep. 22)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — Part of what makes up the feeling of who you are is your belief system. Like unwinding tightly coiled ropes, you’ve been separating your viewpoints and what you value from beliefs and perspectives that were given to you by larger group influences. You can think of this as a moment of individuation, though it may feel more like radical honesty — with yourself and others. As your beliefs and values change, how you orient on yourself also evolves. Trust that those around you will respond to the new ways in which you show up. Your idea of who you are is evolving past what may feel like a point of no return. Going back to who you used to be is no longer a viable option; you are growing to a place of stronger relationship with yourself. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Libra (Sep. 22 - Oct. 23)

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — Recently, you’ve emerged from a bold transformation at the core of who you are. Your internal emotional framework healed a few old wounds and inner blocks. This left you feeling somewhat raw and exposed, as though a layer was removed and a new layer not yet grown in its place. I suggest giving yourself time and space to solidify after all the internal changes you’ve experienced. Provide yourself with the quiet time you need. Feed your body good food and plenty of water. By nurturing yourself, you are tending to these internal spaces that may still be sensitive. Tending to yourself places you in the role of being your own healer and caregiver. You are stepping into the position of authority in own your healing journey, which in itself is one of the steps to healing the emotional material you’ve been carrying. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 22)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — Over next week’s eclipse in Taurus, you are turning a corner regarding an aspect of your relationships. This may have brought a questioning of how much you give to your intimate partnerships. I propose that this does not necessarily mean you want to leave; rather, the relationship needs to expand and stretch to make more room for all of you to be fully present. Proceed with a sense of a new beginning. You are in a position to renegotiate the terms. Focus on what you want, reining in any projections of what your partner may or may not desire. Stating your needs clearly will set the tone for a partner to do the same, responding in kind with what they need. A little creativity and willingness to think outside the traditional box will open more space for both your and your partner’s needs to be met. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 22)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — During next week’s solar eclipse in Taurus, you’ll be moving through what may feel like a doorway or into a distinctively different space. Your frame of mind regarding the relationship between your emotions and your physical self is pushing out and expanding. The astrology is pointing to a merger of these two aspects of you, though they have always been part of the same system. What is transforming is your perception of how your emotions and your physical self interact. I suggest viewing emotions and physical body as support systems for each other. Healthy emotions contribute to feeling physically strong, and taking care of physical health will help you feel centered in strong, positive feelings. Ultimately, you are building a set of health systems that will provide you a greater sense of deep emotional nourishment. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Capricorn (Dec. 22- Jan. 20)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — A few projects you’ve been working on seem to be moving more slowly than you were expecting. As a Capricorn Moon you have the inner fortitude to stay the course and be patient, even with the slowest-growing fruit. But, there comes a point when you, too, need marked progress. The eclipse in Taurus is bringing just that — a burst of energy to your projects. Think of this moment as a catalyst, pushing the reaction — or in this case your project — forward. As a surfer waiting in the water with their board, be ready to catch this wave of energy. For you this moment involves taking an important step, an action or decision. It may come with a feeling of risk or daring, a clue that you are tapping into a high-energy moment of potential. Trust that you are prepared and ready for the opportunities presenting themselves. You are. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Aquarius (Jan. 20- Feb. 19)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — You’ve become accustomed to a life that consisted of much change. I would say it’s less ‘getting used to’ and more an acceptance that change is a constant in your life. This made it challenging to feel an inner sense of security, like you couldn’t put down internal roots for fear of having to pull them up when the next wave of change arrived. Your current astrology carries a message not to wait for a sign or approval to feel secure and established in who you are and what you are about. Let go of any idea that there will be a ‘right time’. Rather, construct a sense of security that stays with you regardless of any changes in your external situation. Really this is a question of feeling good about being you, letting that sense of self-worth be grounded in your very existence rather than in any external approval or response. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Pisces (Feb. 19- March 20)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — I pose a question — how powerful do you perceive your mind to be? More specifically, what is the influence of your thoughts on your life? You are in a moment of finding out. Think of next week’s eclipse as a mental paintbrush and your life a blank canvas. What do you want to paint, to create? The key is harnessing your thoughts as a tool. Know the kinds of thoughts you want and then apply discipline to build those mental patterns while clearing out the thoughts and responses that do not serve your vision. Take time over this week’s eclipse to reflect on the changes you would like to make in your life. Write these ideas down. Spend time with them. You are putting your mind to work as part of the equation of creating the life you want. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Moonshine Horoscopes — Libra Full Moon Edition

Dear Friend and Reader:

Tuesday April 15 is the Libra Full Moon, exact at 3:42 am EDT. (View full chart here) Genevieve Hathaway has interpreted this lunation for each of the 12 Moon signs in her horoscopes below.

April’s Libra Full Moon, which is the Moon in Libra lined up with the Sun in Aries (with Earth in between the two), is special for a couple of reasons. The first is that it is also a total lunar eclipse, and should be visible throughout North and South America plus the Pacific Ocean region (including Australia).

Eclipses indicate a phase of pattern setting for the following six to 12 months, so try to give the things you love most your focus and energy around an eclipse. This eclipse also opens the door to the cardinal grand cross, which is the peak of this season’s astrology.

The other reason has to do with how many planets are clustered along the Aries-Libra axis. In Aries, in order of degrees, we have Uranus, Mercury, Eris, Juno, the Sun and the lunar South Node. In Libra, we have retrograde Mars, retrograde Vesta, retrograde Ceres, the Moon and the lunar North Node.

Energetically, that’s a lot of activity in the zones of ‘I am’ (Aries) and ‘relationship’ (Libra); it’s a very polarized energy and signifies a lot of projection.

Simply speaking, it looks like the old TV show Family Feud. Remember that? Members of two different families, lined up on either side of the set, competing against each other. Competition is a Mars theme, but Family Feud was the ‘lite’, humorous version of feuds between families that can go on for generations — the kind that get written up in history books, like the Hatfields and the McCoys.

That theme is present in the Libra Full Moon chart, via the lunar nodes: whatever projection and polarization you experience next week, consider that it may have roots deep in the past — as in generations or past lives. The question you will want to keep asking yourself is: in what ways do you contain a grain of the ‘other’?

That is, how are you more like the things, people and ideas you are trying to distinguish yourself from than different? If you find yourself competing against, battling or resisting something or someone, the struggle may lie closer to home (within) than you’d like to think, if you’re open to seeing it. Once you can see it, the real work — and fun — can begin.

Yours & truly,

Amanda Painter

Aries (March 20-April 19)

Aries (March 20-April 19) — For some time you have been working out aspects of your relationship with your mother. You’ve healed a few themes that may have looked a lot like emotional abandonment or a lack of emotional availability. As these ideas sifted up through your consciousness you’ve addressed and healed each one, making changes to your emotional framework. Through this process you’ve learned to be your own parent — providing to yourself the things you needed that your mother may not have been able to give you. Now, you are reaching a moment of culmination. This may come with a feeling of arrival, or that you moved through a doorway into a distinctly different sense of ‘you’. Notice how this new approach to relationship influences your close partnerships. You are showing up standing in your personal power, and close partners are responding in kind. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Taurus (April 19- May 20)

Taurus (April 19-May 20) — Alice Bailey in her book Esoteric Astrology termed the sign Taurus the “fashioners of souls.” By fashioner she was referring to the act of creating, making or molding something. Think of the sign of your Moon as the blacksmith’s forge, the area of the zodiac where things are crafted, shaped and formed through a slow process involving repetition, intentional work and the creative heat of your soul. In this workman’s space, your emotional body is slowly worked, re-worked, and carefully shaped through your experiences. For some time, you have learned about the day-to-day activities and habits that provide you with emotional nourishment. These experiences have shaped your emotional self, providing support and a sense of greater contact with your life. Consciously apply this knowledge to how you spend your time; note the sense that follows of being fully present in your life. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Gemini (May 20- June 21)

Gemini (May 20-June 21) — You are devoting much time, energy and love to a number of projects. Dividing your attention between these goals may at times feel like you are internally pulled in many directions. I propose an idea — instead of viewing how the projects are different, find the commonalities. Take a step back and look at the larger picture of the ways your current projects and endeavors can support each other. There is more overlap than may initially be apparent. Over the next few weeks, opportunities will present themselves to advance a few of these projects; each progress can also be applied to other plans. You possess plenty of creativity to build bridges between your projects, no matter how seemingly unrelated they are. I suggest applying something you know a lot about — thinking way outside the box. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Cancer (June 21- July 22)

Cancer (June 21-July 22) — The astrology at the moment is calling you to push through what may feel like an internal barrier or wall. What you have slipped around is an emotional block regarding feeling secure enough to bring complete honesty to your conversations with partners. Remember, there is one genuine discussion you can always have — the one with yourself. I suggest starting there and working outwards to your close partners. Honest discussions with yourself are bringing you into contact with a clear sense of what you truly want, what is right for you, and what your boundaries are. From this position you will be able to communicate with others where you stand in situations and what you need from them. Trust that partners are more interested in learning your needs and views than having you project what you think they want. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Leo (July 22- Aug. 23)

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Space is held open for you to access ideas that may seem new to you, but are actually very old concepts. This is knowledge passed down through your maternal line — from your great-grandmother to your grandmother to your mother to you, though it may go even further back. Think of this wisdom as an inheritance or legacy you’ve carried. It’s been residing just below the surface of your consciousness, pieces of information slowly rising to the surface as you’ve explored the nooks and crannies of your internal space. Now you are in a moment of putting the pieces of the puzzle together. As you make contact with this information synthesize these old ideas into a new package that is applicable to what you, and those around you, are working through today. Then apply what you now know to your life. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Virgo (Aug. 23- Sep. 22)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — I suggest noting how jealousy has influenced, and to an extent still impacts, the women in your family. Jealousy is viewed most often as an acceptable emotional response in relationships, when in fact it has a toxic effect that negatively impacts our lives and the lives of those we love. Jealousy between women is played upon and encouraged by the media and larger society, though it only serves to create emotional wounds in both genders. This week’s lunar eclipse is offering healing regarding a few emotional wounds based in jealousy. You are making contact with the ways the thoughts on jealousy you adopted from those around you impacted your sense of feeling good about who you are. Awareness of this material is helping you heal this wound. Ultimately, this process is aiding you in growing a greater sense of self-worth. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Libra (Sep. 22 - Oct. 23)

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — This week’s eclipse is asking you to get clear on who you are in your different types of relationships — in your role as daughter/son, sibling, parent, friend, lover. You have a few different kinds of relationships and partnerships you are part of and your sense of identity can shift depending on the role you are in at the time. At the moment, your sense of ‘you’ is separating from these labeled roles. This can come with the feeling that you have greater distance from your partnerships and relationships. I propose that this is giving you the perspective to see and FEEL who you are as an entity separate from a structure that intimately involves another person. As you develop a strong sense of what it means to be ‘you’, look for partnerships with individuals who can share their own firm sense of who they are. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 22)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — Plenty has been going on behind the scenes in your life, even if progress in your exterior life seemed slower than you wished. Think of this moment like a play. Behind the stage many people are running around doing the preparation and making the arrangements for the action on stage to take place. It may take many different off-stage cues, crewmembers and actors to complete their tasks before action switches to the stage. The scene playing out in front of the audience is a polished, complete presentation. This week’s lunar eclipse is the moment when action behind the stage culminates in a situation fully emerging on the stage. What has been in the works in your life for quite some time is now synthesizing into tangible progress, developments that you can use to build the next act of the play. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 22)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — I propose that one of your largest contributions to any situation, project or relationship is your ability to be bold. I don’t mean bold in a way that marginalizes or overshadows any other participants; rather, you let your genuine desire and who you are at your very core lead regardless of rules or what others think. This is an attribute that many individuals around you admire, but may have difficulty emulating due to fear, self-doubt or other internal blocks. View yourself as an explorer, paving the way through your attitudes and actions for others to find their own courage to be who they are. Put another way, you are holding space for others to dare to be unabashedly themselves. Think of this as starting your own revolution — one based on authenticity, healthy desire, and an awareness of each person’s inherent value. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Capricorn (Dec. 22- Jan. 20)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — The pace of life may feel like it’s accelerating, as though you slipped through a series of wormholes. Where you end up may not resemble anything like the landscape of where you started — it may not even look like you’re in the same galaxy. Those around you are also experiencing the sense of time speeding up, though how they respond may vary wildly. I suggest not getting distracted by anyone else’s insecurities or attempts to hold on to the way their lives previously were, even a few weeks back. You are making contact with a number of options for what the new layout of your life can look like. These opportunities are not mutually exclusive; rather, they support each other like legs that hold up a table. Hold a vision for them co-existing; creative ideas will arrive, helping you sort out the details. — by Genevieve Hathaway

Aquarius (Jan. 20- Feb. 19)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — Your beliefs have an inherent intellectual and creative potency to shape your life. I’m referring to belief as a tool to channel your desire into your vision for your life. If you run into any blocks in this process, take a look at your mother’s beliefs and how they affected her. Did she feel she had the space to honor what she believed? There is something here about certain attitudes she possessed that were based on insecurities of identity she inherited from her mother. This is a wound passed down through the generations. Run a quick scan of the themes and ideas you are working with, checking for any hints of projected insecurity. Then circle back on what you know to be true — the personal resources you have to draw on, your solid sense of what you genuinely desire from your life, and most importantly, your inherent sense of self-worth. — by Genevieve Hathaway

pisces-2014

Pisces (Feb. 19- March 20)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — You have much in the way of wisdom gained from your experiences and those experiences of your ancestors passed down to you through your maternal and paternal lines. Think of this as an internal database of information you can access through your intuitive or psychic self. At the moment, you are standing in the role of guide to many of your close friends, partners and colleagues. As you share what you know, don’t forget to be your own guide. Hold up your flashlight, burning torch or giant spotlight and illuminate your own way, too. You are reaching a crossroads regarding your desire and how that desire manifests in your life. Start with what nourishes your soul. Trust that you have all the information you need to home in on what fills you with genuine joy and passion. — by Genevieve Hathaway
