You may notice your overall mood lightening, if it was at all intense the last couple of days. Now that the Moon is in Sagittarius, you could find a more optimistic outlook is prevailing, even if you’re in pursuit of an elusive truth. If you take a big-picture perspective, does it start to seem more like an adventure?

You can apply this attitude to anything that the opposition between Mars in Cancer and Pholus and Quaoar in Capricorn is bringing to your attention. For example, can you see something of your parents’, grandparents’ or great-grandparents’ history in someone you’re interacting with? This could be a partner (work, creative or intimate) or someone else. Do the patterns in their origin story resonate with yours, or inform you about the things you want? Consider the sensation of being ‘uncorked’ — is it more like motivation, provocation (positive or negative) or frustration in this case?

Also note that Mercury in Taurus makes an exact conjunction to the minor planet Sedna today. One way to interpret this is: if you think you’re going through hell, keep going. After all: if you’ve come this far, chances are you have what it takes to get to a much better place. Don’t let rigid ideas about your confidence (or seeming lack thereof) cause too much tension; see if you can push off against it, instead, even if doing so feels radical.

You may have to adjust your strategy in light of unexpected developments, though that is another way of saying that plenty is brewing behind the scenes that you may not be aware of yet. Don’t mistake this for nothing happening. Mercury’s recent change of directions in the house associated with your professional ambitions is a reminder to pick up the threads on whatever may have been sidetracked about six weeks ago. Reassess that particular goal — you may want or need to revise it, or you may want to fold it into a new plan that has emerged more recently. Either way there is something valuable involved that will help you advance your work and your reputation. I was about to write “if you’re interested,” though I see every reason to be interested, and to get yourself there if you’re having the least hesitation.

Today the Scorpio Moon opposes the Taurus Sun for the Scorpio Full Moon, exact at 5:11 pm EDT (21:11:14 UTC). If a situation with someone seems a little stuck and you’re not sure how to wiggle it into freer territory, this Full Moon could describe that sensation — especially regarding topics such as values, finances, and the physical-sexual-emotional realm of intimate relationships. Possessiveness and jealousy (or their projection onto a partner) might also come up. If things get volatile, you may wish to press the pause button until after the event peaks.

Another possibility is that you may be conscious of, and need to express outwardly, something about a process of re-generating a part of you that was once cut off or somehow lost. A conjunction between the Sun and the minor planet Sedna appears to describe this. Did any form of pride, hubris or vanity play a role in that former trauma? Now ask: was that truly the case, or is a displaced sense of guilt or shame pointing you in that direction? It’s easy to think we were looking for more than we deserved — and therefore have been punished justly — if we’ve been pushed out of our own center, or if we’ve felt somehow abandoned. But maybe you were right to stand your ground after all?

Any of those thoughts or emotions could be a red flag — and could guide you to look a little deeper by the light of the Full Moon (you can read a little more about this Scorpio Full Moon here). With Venus in Taurus making a conjunction to the Great Awakener Uranus today, you have an unusual level of creativity and self-will available for use. While this might not be the day to indiscriminately push stubbornly against whatever you face, persistently seeking out a new approach, sensation or experience could move some worthwhile energy and open up your options.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Aquarius weekly for March 25, 2008.

Do people keep saying no to you? Do they offer things they cannot come through on? Do they seem to have good intentions, such as to learn how to dance, but they can only dance when they’re standing on your feet like the little girl in The Godfather? Yeah well, go where the action is. Physically get up and make the trip. It may be across town, it may be across the country, it may be across a gulf of awareness that seems extremely wide today but which consists of nothing more than a single thought. Make sure you are the one who takes action, and who counts on yourself to take action. For example, don’t wait for someone to call you. Call them, or knock on their door. Finally, I suggest you forget about all the things that people have promised you in the past. If they are in the past, then they were merely promises, which you cannot cash in at the change machine in the supermarket lobby, even though you may have a very large bottle full of them. One last thing — promises are nothing you want to make, either. You — and the world, but particularly you — need action these days. Not (as so often happens) talk.

Take extra care to ensure that what people tell you is actually true. However, we live on a planet where for many people, deception is a way of life. Question the obvious, look carefully at what seems unusual and even inquire about what seems perfectly normal. The thing you don’t want to do is let things slide and hope for the best. I’m not suggesting you change your nature and become a suspicious person. However, your trusting nature does not always work in your favor, and it’s often an excuse for slacking a bit and not verifying what people say to you. Sometimes it takes guts to ask a follow-up question, much less ask for documentation. I suggest that you do both, and take various steps to reality check, that is, check your own perceptions.
