Today’s Oracle takes us to the Leo monthly for March 22, 2013.

The age-old traditions of superficial, self-centered and boring won’t work for you this month. They never did, but they are currently at an all-time low ebb. Therefore, you can plan on events that take you deeper, that involve you with others, and that are genuinely interesting. As you do, you may encounter the temptation to distract yourself with appearances, glamor and the desire to ‘be known’ for something. I suggest you succumb to nothing of the kind. Do what you do for its inherent value, rather than some secondary result. This leaves you plenty of room to focus on excellence, and to remember that a meaningful attribute of your karma is to focus groups of people into conscious coordination. As you do this, one thing to be aware of is anyone who does not want things to work. Some people on the planet have a not-so-funny way of reacting negatively when energy starts to focus in their proximity. They can be jealous when people succeed, seemingly not needing them. The first thing to do with anyone exhibiting this kind of attitude is to notice, and notice soon. There are a few ways to handle this kind of value; one is to include the person and keep him or her busy. Help them feel needed. Or, you can find a constructive use for their competitive spirit. Ask everyone involved what they need and what their expectations are. When you get your answer, set goals and make adjustments.

The Saturn-Pluto conjunction is separating, but still strongly influencing our experience. While this event will happen two or three times in the lives of most people, this particular instance is a moment of convergence and reckoning for the world and for us as individuals.

The way is open. If anything, you may fear that it’s too wide open and you can’t quite get any real benefits from such an easy undertaking. But there’s a subtle deception involved, if you can call it that; something that seems easy on one level will lead to formidable challenges on another, but these challenges you are up to. You are more than ready, and my hunch is that as soon as you embark on this process of growth and personal investigation in a conscious, open and willing way, the world will move to meet you.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Aries monthly for Nov 23, 2012.

Being weird is not enough. Having no fear of being perceived as weird is essential. This will help insulate you from any misguided impulse to sacrifice your individuality or conform to what some authority figure wants you to be, and I assure you that the temptation will be there. Yet experiencing the tension between ‘rebellious’ and ‘conformist’ is not enough to guide you, on its own. You must do something subtler, which is trust that your self-guidance is more effective than anything any ‘leader’ could provide. Worship of authority is one of the most common forms of the mommy/daddy drama that adults, by definition, have resolved and put behind them. Getting clear about these things will allow you to step into the bold place of being an actual creative person, rather than an iconoclast. Of course, one persistent icon does need to be taken off of the altar, and that is your self-image. Remember that actual self is stronger, more influential and more beautiful than any mockery of it could be. Therefore, avoid glamour, fashionable trends of belief or doing anything for the sake of appearances. If you can do this, you will guide yourself deeper into the confidence that you are the only leadership you need. To many this will seem like a dangerous place, and it just may be. I suggest you equip yourself with a few more tools. The most important one is honesty, by which I mean the willingness to know yourself, and call something what it is.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Leo monthly for May 1, 1999.

Someday, I’m going to write a brilliant article called “Little Bongo As An American Literary Hero.” Little Bongo, whom I believe is a Leo — he would pretty much have to be — is the one-eared bunny from the “Life in Hell” cartoon by Matt Groening. Bongo evolved into Bart Simpson, but before doing so, he endured the bullies in the neighborhood, the mean dogs, the psycho teachers who bound-and-gagged him when he made up his own version of the Pledge, and he refused to say a single word to the school psychologist. He persevered, and so have you. But it’s now time to give up your fear that so much hangs in the balance — even though it does — and conquer the world in your own sweet way.

You may be imagining how nice it would be to have your whole mind made up about one important thing. It’s like you’re triplets rather than twins these days and two of the three have one idea and the third is onto something else entirely. But give yourself a little space to think and focus on something that’s emerged in your life as a powerful attraction both for its beauty and intellect. And remember there is a certain factor that appears to be missing from the equation but which I’m pretty sure will come into focus over time. Today’s Oracle takes us to the Leo weekly for Jan 30, 2009.

The Sun in your opposite sign Aquarius is making aspects to a bunch of other things in Aquarius, namely two very intense centaur planets and Neptune. This, along with an eclipse there earlier in the week, suggest strongly that you need to be cautious in your relationships, take nothing for granted, and not assume you know the truth until you have exhausted every other possibility. If you act like you distrust people, you’re likely to actually lose their trust. Yet you have to be careful what you let go of and leave in their hands unconsciously. The key to navigating astrology like this is not expecting any two days to be the same, which you’re pretty good at, and remembering that both you and anyone close to you have many facets — of which you are seeing and combining many possibilities lately.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Virgo weekly for May 27, 2011.

Have you figured out that the division between religion and sex is a fraud? Now would be a good time. Most people underestimate the extent to which they’ve been influenced by religion, whether it’s the pressure to get married, the notion of sin, or the idea that you must strive for the same type of family structure that your parents tried to have (whether or not they succeeded). Looked at one way, you’re at a moment where you can break away from the influences of the past, mainly by making a single decision. The characteristics of this choice are, you know it’s right, and then when you make a move, you feel daunted, guilty or otherwise frightened. This second layer — the fear/guilt layer — is the enforcement boundary that religion has installed. It’s like one of those invisible fences that keeps dogs inside a perimeter that you no longer need to activate once the dog has had a few shocks to the neck. It’s time to take off the collar, look both ways and cross the road.
