Dear Friend and Reader:
Cosmophilia: You Belong Here is almost ready. I’m nearing the end of the writing process and a six-month journey of research, chart-casting, analysis, recording and preparing your 2015 readings. They are beautiful, and I plan to have them in your hands soon.
Each set of annual readings is centered on a theme. This year’s theme is belonging, on the most practical level. I have studied the charts for information about your inner process — where you are, how you got here and where you’re heading. I then place that in the context of your environment — your surroundings, your relationships, your goals, and the many tasks at hand.
The result is a series of readings that help you see your life in its wider context; see the potentials you have; identify the choices you need to make; and assemble this into a cohesive presentation.
Because so many people struggle to have any sense of belonging on this planet, in our society and at this time, we’re dealing with a potentially controversial subject here. Many factors push people into a kind of psychic and physical exile. Many people spend their lives trying to make contact with themselves, their purpose and their environment.
Belonging is more than fitting in. It’s about a productive relationship, a creative relationship, between you and the life you inhabit. It’s about establishing some common ground with your environment, and tuning into a sense of purpose. I don’t mean theoretical purpose; I mean one you can explore and express.
Astrology is a study of where your character traits and inner developments match your environment. By its nature, astrology is a study of that very point of contact. In these readings, I explore both your inner and outer environments in careful detail. Then I describe what those have in common; where the meeting places are; where you can look for meaning.
Cosmophilia is astrology made real. I strive to be practical, though for us now, at this time of incredible change, practical amounts to spiritual and psychological. I invest equal energy in matters of growth and those of creative expression. I am more concerned with your relationship to yourself than your relationships with others, though I cover that spectrum.
Your reading comes in the form of an extended written presentation and two half-hour-plus recorded sessions. They cover different material, though when there is some overlap, they cover the topics in different ways.
As far as astrology, I pay close attention to Saturn in Sagittarius, developments surrounding Neptune and Chiron in Pisces, and the current turning point of the Uranus-Pluto square. In addition, I’m informed by my use of more than 100 minor planets — newly discovered ones such as centaurs, as well as asteroids and many other types.
In the end, what you get is something friendly and accessible; a reading that is both useful and reassuring. I strive to point out what might otherwise be invisible or difficult to discern, and I sum up the obvious as well.
You have the choice between purchasing by individual sign, or getting all 12 signs in one package. At the very least, I recommend having access to your Sun sign (that is, your sign) and your rising sign, if you know it. Whether you get one or all signs, you’ll have access to our selection of nearly 20 articles written by other writers on the theme of belonging, as well as resources, extra materials and updates throughout the year.
Here is an audio preview, where I describe the project.
Thanks for tuning in, and thank you for trusting me as your astrologer. I’ll be back ASAP with your reading.
Lovingly,
P.S. Just in case you’re curious how this is presented, I suggest you take a look at the 2014 annual, The Mars Effect. We have removed the password, so you can review what you listened to one year ago, or dive in for the first time.
Thank you for the update Eric.
I have enjoyed so many of your annual editions and, I am really looking forward to this one.
Belonging…it’s such a powerful topic. I believe that one does best when they belong to themselves first; as in “you must be your own partner first, and anyone else’s second”. I look forward to your wide and gracious view.
Thanks for working so hard on raising our collective awareness.
I’m looking forward to it too!!
I LOVE the photo (banner?) at the top of the page, and the way they constantly change (don’t know where else to write this…).
Btw — I am currently one of the proofreaders for the sign readings, as well as the featured articles by friends of PW, and I have to say that Eric is doing a beautiful job with these. That is no surprise in some ways, since he always does. But especially coming off the heels of the big website upgrade, this has been a huge project without much breathing room for him. I can’t wait to hear what people think of Cosmophilia when it comes out!
Eric and Amanda: Before Eric announced his theme for this year’s readings, I had been working on a theme of feeling safe and belonging here for myself, starting in the summer. So when he announced his theme, I laughed and thought I’m on the right track! Very eager to read what he has to say for me (Asc Sag, Sun Taurus). Thanks for all the hard work put into this by everyone involved. I love the new header on your site for the theme, also.
Two more planets, say Astronomers.
