In tonight’s edition, I consider the life and ideas of the late NY Gov. Mario Cuomo, telling a personal story wherein he helped me crack one of the most challenging stories I’ve ever written, involving the safety of 1,300 students living in toxic dormitories. Here is the result of my encounter with Gov. Cuomo that day. I also offer some thoughts on the 10th anniversary of Eris, the planetary discovery that compelled astronomers to define the word ‘planet’ for the first time.

Wow Eric, this is officially the first time I have listened to Planet Waves FM and what a wonderful experience. I wasn’t planning to do this, I just decided to check it out after reading the intro written here and listening to that powerful speech just won me over and then I heard your voice for the very first time and was again surprised,to be honest I had a feeling that you might be kind of mean but by listening to your voice I soon realized my mistake, you have a very friendly sympathetic voice and you are very good at doing this kind of thing I was interested almost all the time except at the final minutes before the second song, my mind was wandering and I only realized when you announced the second song, although that’s kind of typical of me, it’s like my mind floats off but somehow some part of me still can grab on, even maybe unconsciously to what’s going on, might be because I was born when Mercury was in Pisces with a lot of aspects including a square to Neptune, might be that, don’t know really. Well, let me say I learned a lot, first, of this seemingly very respectable man Gov. Cuomo, I’m from Chile and I had not heard of him. Also I learned a lot of astrology, including something that made me very happy which is how to say Chiron, it always had remained written, at least in English, so you’re the first person from who I hear that name being said. Also, I too, took a break during the first song and, all this wonderful atmosphere had been created during those 40 aprox. minutes, went for a cigarrette and found a reply from someone involved in a book that has been very special in my life called “The Wind is my Mother” , a book that is the life story of a Native American Shaman whose name was “Bear Heart”, the reply was from Molly Larkin who was with the man to create this book. This created a kind of “union of coincidences” because something very special happened yesterday concerning the animal bear and also the name of the record you played is named “when I was a boy” and this book that I’m talking about has been special since I was very young, plus other coincidences that I won’t get into to not make this so long but which are all very pleasant and seem to make everything feel just right, right now as I write, haha, noticed was I just wrote? Didn’t mean to do that, just got lucky. Well…I thank you for making this available for Introductory Members and I’m glad I had such a great experience in this first time listening to Planet Waves FM, plus the first one of the year. Oh and also, I was also very fortunate to listen to you talk about what happened with that work you were doing on PCB’s. Some years back I tried to follow your story but it was kind of difficult because there were a lot of things I didn’t know what they were, even now I think, but I understood what you said here. So, thank you, oh and the last song was just perfect, thanks, wish you the best and I’ll be around so until next time, thanks again.
